Great Looks, Great Sound, Great Price.......2007-10-14
I was looking for a compact CD player/clock radio for my bedroom that was stylish, had a good sound, and was reasonably priced. This unit exceeded my expectations on all levels. I considered the Bose, but it isn't as attractive, doesn't sound any better, and costs hundreds of dollars more. The very sleek TEAC has cool blue neon accent lighting (which can be dimmed but not turned off completely). As for the sound, I have a fairly expensive stereo component system elsewhere in the house, so I was quite pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sound, especially for a tabletop unit. The bass has a 50% boost, and the 10-watt subwoofer adds considerably to the sound quality. These extra features add to the size, so the SR-L50 is larger than the average clock radio. There are auxiliary ports to attach headphones, speakers, DVD players, etc., so this unit is versatile as well. It would be nice if the time display would be the default when the radio and the CD player are in use, but it is not.
Bottom line: You'll more than get your money's worth with this.

...the remote control seems to make my iPod Photo freeze up. I just put the remote away and I'm using it without it.
