The item was a little larger than my previous caller ID box and was a little bit more cumbersome to get used to. Deletion was much faster than previous box. My biggest complaint is that it is battery-only operated and the information screen is always on (reducing the battery life). My previous box blanked out after a minute or so of use and ran on AC with battery back-up. All-in-all, the unit performs well.

It works for me. I wish it had a few features my previous caller id had. This was certainly the best one I could find out there. I bought two previous ones and they were not very useful. It is hard to find caller id with call waiting without having it included with an answering machine or cordless phone. I use it with a land line phone. This model seems to be of good quality. I like the large display.
Hard to read display.......2007-10-28
I bought this product to provide caller id functionality to an old speaker-phone that I really like. And I haven't had any problem with the basic functionality. That is, by the 2nd ring, the caller info gets displayed. It also has another benefit that I hadn't thought of when buying it: it displays the accurate date and time that get synced with each call. It's a clock that doesn't require setting.
My only complaint is that it is sometimes difficult to read the display. As others have noted, you need to basically be looking straight on to read things clearly. The angle at which the unit stands by default did not work for my setup. I had to prop up the back with a make-shift wedge in order to be able to read it from my desk chair.

This would have been a nice phone set, but the reception was awful! I got static sound no matter where I was in relation to the base and no matter where I put the base in the house.
The manual said to place it away from electrical objects such as microwaves and tv's. First of all, it is hard to do that nowadays. Second, I did try to move the base and little units around, but I got no change in reception quality.
Otherwise, this would have been a really great phone.

I purchased this phone per the reviews I've read and trust me folks, you will not be disappointed. Crystal clear reception, easy/soft push buttons, bright orange backlight, and whole bunch of other extras to go along.

I'm one of those people that loves to research anything and everything out there before I buy and when I came across the reviews on this phone, I had to check it out. After reading up on it, as well as the comments being very good, I bought it and again, feel I made a wise investment.
The answering machine is great also, very loud, clear and has 3 separate mailboxes which is great for personal, business, and what-nots.

Believe or not, I have purchased two other brands' 5.8 cordless phones before but returned them less than a week. But this time I have been using it for weeks already and I will keep it. It met all my satisfactions and I gave two thumbs up. The sound quality is crystal clear and the intercom is so handy. Best of all, the built-in three mailboxes is a nice feature and my kids felt repected because they have their own mailboxes. The price is no where else you can find and it is the best especially with three handsets.

If you are looking for a straight forward easy to use caller id, you might be interested in this product like I was. After purchasing it, I realized that easy to use and straight forward was not a part of the purchase. The instructions are easy to follow except that if you have anytype of answering machine or computer that you may have to connect this to it will not work. I am subscribed to caller id, so that was not the problem, this caller id is antiquted and for a reason, most caller id's which are cordless phones/caller id automatically set themselves. This archaic cheap version is manually set, and you'll be lucky if it works. Do yourself a favor, save the time returning this product and just get a caller id which is installed in a cordless phone they are much more user friendly.
