The ergonomics of this trackball are excellent. Your palm rests on top of the mouse to operate the left and right mouse buttons, as well as the scroll wheel, and your thumb operates the trackball, just as God intended. Uses one AA battery, which will last a few weeks or longer with heavy use. It's optical, so no need to worry about dirt gunking up the works as with a mechanical trackball, and when cleaning is necessary, just pop out the ball and clean away. My only quibble is that the ball glides on three pieces of hard plastic, and these should be cleaned and wiped with oil if moving the ball gets to be more difficult than usual - or just eat some greasy chips while perusing the internet.

For the price I could hope for a few more features (read: buttons). All-in-all, this is a completely serviceable and reliable trackball mouse. I've had no problems with the wireless connection and it works exactly as all of Logitech's products have worked for me: very well. I prefer the trackball positioned for the index finger, but I guess you can't have everything. If you're looking for a simple trackball wireless, there's no reason this one won't fill the bill.

Hmmmm. For a product that works off of Radio Frequency, I would expect that it wouldn't matter what direction I pointed the trackball, but I found that with this product you have to point it in the general direction of the receiver. Not as bad as a Infrared remote ~such as a tv remote~ but less than what I expected. I am using it at a distance of about 6ft away from the receiver. If you are just using it as a regular desktop trackball, it would probably work fine.

I've had this product for almost a years, so I have had plenty of time to evaluate it. For the most part it is a great trackball, but my only complaint is that the batteries seem to run down quickly and then is gets jumpy.
Not Vista friendly.......2007-12-07
I had this trackball for 2 years with an XP machine and no problems.
Best trackball ever - not too big and glides well. When I got a Vista machine it would automatically stop working after a few power downs. I have to keep the computer plugged into a surge protector and as long as the power stays on, the mouse is fine. But if I power goes out from a storm, then I have to unplug the trackball wireless module and either re-install or hope it decides to work again. My computer just went into standby and the mouse was not working anymore again. I had to re-install it again. I've checked my bios power settings and the vista power settings. There is not much else I can do. DON'T use this for Vista is all I can say. It crashes all the time and doesn't like other USB devices except my keyboard & printer. New Vista drivers don't help either. Great for XP.
