Simple, easy to plug and play, just be patient depending on where you stand in reference to the signal, it may take a while to capture all music channels. Finally you may not find this item in many places, obsoleted at many big electronic stores, so my advice is that if you need this device and see it available, grab it!!

... if price was completely taken out of the equation. Nice big display, fairly easy to install, (((XM)))'s service (in my opinion) is second to none. There's a lot of good here, just not at ninety-dollars. Quite honestly, that's just FAR too expensive.
You would do better to either examine the used items being sold here, or take the money you would've spent and purchase the XpressR from Delphi. For a comparable price (I think the R is about ten or fifteen dollars more) you'll get a current unit with TONS of features and twice as many accessory options.
Highly recommend the service, but your money would be better well spent on a different, i.e. more current, model.

Enjoy my product and have had it about 2 years. Use in home and auto. My problem is with reception in auto when in large city areas the FM reception is terrible. Local FM stations drown out XM signal and it is useless until I get out of the large city areas. Have tried using the other channels but to no success. What kind be done about this?

I bought an XM (over Sirius) because I wanted MLB and ACC Sports coverage. If you are doing it for the same reason, be forewarned that XM only carries one broadcast of each game, which means that you will often be hearing the OTHER team's broadcast (and frequently be getting angry with the announcers).
Other than that, I LOVE XM's musical selection, although I assume it would be about the same for Sirius
As for the player, it is very easy to use and has good features.
As for complaints:
- First off, the sound quality is pretty bad. It's somewhere between the quality of FM and AM radio, which is not the way you want to listen to your music. I even got the $30 add-on that is supposed to improve your reception. I'd hate to hear what it's like without this piece! This is extremely disappointing.
- I used the "stick-on" pad to stick the player to the front side of the dash, however, it MELTS OFF in the summertime! So I ended up having to Krazy Glue it on, which will probably look terrible when I go to take this thing off.
- The player is on a swivel-thing, that screws on to tighten. But no matter how hard I tighten it, it still manages to droop towards the floor so that I can't see the screen, and I have to readjust it once a week or so.
- The screen does not display the entire artist & song always, because it frequently fills up the screen, and doesn't scroll to account for this.
I have had this for about three months and thus far have had no issues with it not working.

The product has great channel selection features, and decent quality mounts. However, the air vent mount is kinda cheap, it broke after a fall of about 3 feet, without the receiver in it. The channel selection knob also came off for some unknown reason.

I live in a small southern town with tree lined streets and old large antebellum houses which as you might guess blocks a lot of signals. My two mile daily walk with my Pioneer Inno with standard earplugs sounded great and comfortable as well, but lost signals off and on for a quater of my walk. I read all the reviews and decided to give the antenna headphones a try. Right out of th box they performed well, not one dead spot. I even tried them under my hat when it rained and they still worked.
As everyone noted they are not as comfortable as the plugs and do not sound quite as good. I found that wearing a ball hat or sock cap with them over the top lessens pressure from side but ear plugs are a little large and add to the discomfort. But, considering the improvement in performance I will definitely tolerate it. I tried as one reviewer suggested and also plugged in the earphone and hung the antenna around my neck and loosely around the top of my ball hat and it worked great but just a view more wires than I prefer. Have used them now for three weeks with no problems. All in all I would suggest that any person who buys an Inno and live in fringe or crowded areas go ahead and purchase the Belkin Antenna Headphones with them. The reception is worth a little discomfort.

Like others, I've had the problem of the headphones working great for a few weeks. I think I know why reception goes bad and the check antenna message comes. The headphones and the charger are plugged into the same spot on the radio. I think that each time you unhook the antenna you destroy some of the connection and the antenna doesn't maintain contact with the radio. I've had to start holding the radio and squeezing the connection to keep reception.

I found that the Belkin XM radio antenna works well for quality of sound and signal strength. The ear pieces, fixed position, hurt my hears; they are large and protrude into the ears.

I checked out the reviews here before I bought my antenna headphones. I thought maybe the people that were complaining about the headphones just quitting on them were exaggerating or just unlucky. I had mine for only a couple months. Then, one Saturday I was preparing to listen to football on my XM, and guess what? No signal. Just like the others said, they quit working for no apparent reason. While they worked, they performed reasonably well. I didn't use them as earphones. I wore the antenna around my neck and used separate earphones. It's hard to imagine a more poorly designed product for comfort or durability, but unfortunately they are the only game in town right now, as far as I know.

Beware!.......2007-12-26
Do not buy this product! This unit will constantly lockup, then you have to wait for hours for the battery to drain as there is no way to reset it. This radio has been out for several months and XM still has not fixed the problems and most likely will never fix them. This is another example of a good idea implemented poorly.
When I bought this for my wife I took her skifi2 to use for myself. Now I feel bad for doing that because the skifi2 is a far superior product.
Worthless.......2007-12-23
I've had this unit for 6 months, and the last couple of months have been a nightmare. The unit locks up about 75% of the time on startup, and the only way to "fix" it is to allow the battery to die. The volume up/power button reset doesn't work. The screen displays "Scanning media 22.29," and won't go any further. I've seen suggestions to update the firmware, but when I attempted to do so, I found out I've already got the latest updates installed.
The buttons sometimes are slow to respond, if they respond at all. I don't like having to look at the unit while I'm trying to drive to make sure that it's doing what I anticipated. I like to be able to push the buttons while keeping my eye on the road. I've found myself in for a few surprises this way - for example, I've pushed 54 and wound up on channel 4 instead... oops. The directional buttons have the same problem.
I've also had the unit randomly do odd things such as change from vertical to horizontal display, and change the channel that it transmits on to the radio.
The unit seriously doesn't like the cold. It responds even more slowly and is much more prone to locking up.
I haven't even been able to successfully use my XM radio in the last two weeks. Unfortunately we paid for a year subscription, so I'm stuck with it. I would highly recommend going with a non-Delphi product. I'd have to say this is the most awful experience I've ever had with an electronic product.
How many bugs can this unit have?.......2007-12-14
I'm about to send back my second SkiFi to Delphi for a replacement. Here are some things that have gone wrong with the units I've owned:
1. Bad reception and repeated "Check Antennae" messages, even when standing in the middle of a field under a clear sky.
2. Screen will not light up when power button is pushed- guy on the phone gives "helpful suggestion" to push down volume and power buttons at the same time.
4. Radio comes on, but screen does not. After several attempts, this finally corrects itself.
5. Recorded songs skip and freeze. Seriously.
6. Screen freezes and will NOT unfreeze. As another poster has noted, you have to drain the battery to get it unstuck. Speaking of which...
7. Don't even bother to get this unless you get the extended battery or only intend to use it in the car. The standard battery lasts 30 minutes on Live XM.
8. Antennae Jack died on first unit after less than three months. Delphi will replace, but I lost a dozen songs I had recorded. Plus the hassle of returning stuff.
9. Again, I am about to send back my SECOND unit in less than four months (my first replacement started showing bugs before the first WEEK was up.)
An on-off switch would be really, really helpful, as the "Mode" button seems very tempermental.

My unit seems to freeze up constantly, especially when playing MP3s. It is quite annoying. Once, the player froze up playing some of the recorded songs, and somehow forgot that I was a registered XM subscriber. I kept getting warnings that my license to play my recorded music would soon expire, even though I was connected to the XM Satellite. Eventually, the message went away (after a week or two), and I never did have a problem playing any of my music, other than an occasional reminder to subscribe if I wanted to continue to play my recorded music. This problem has only occured once.
The freeze ups, on the other hand, is almost guaranteed to happen just about every time I play MP3s, and about once a week when playing some of the recorded XM songs. It is frustrating, but I do still like the unit. At the time I purchased it, this was the only unit I could find that could "TiVO" my XM radio, which is a feature I could not live without! It's great to hear a new song on the radio that I like and be able to save it for future listening! No more "What was the title of that song???" and having to search the internet for lyrics to find the songs I like.
I only wish the screen was color, and the device could be a little more user friendly. I find myself having to "interact" with the radio more than I would like to when changing songs or radio stations, which is a distraction while driving. This may be more of a side effect to having a unit with so many features, and not necessarily a design limitation of the unit itself. I think a better screen, with color and better contrast, would help in this regard.
Humming Explained.......2007-11-25
We recently bought this unit on an incredible sale from Best Buy ($29.99--on clearance to make room for new models). We put the XM receiver on our dash board so as not to have to run wire out to the roof (we aren't using the FM option). This seems to pick up the XM signal just fine. We did have one problem--an unexplained humming when the unit was plugged into the auxiliary jack. We tried to swap audio cables, adjust different settings in the radio and in the xm receiver, but nothing worked. Eventually we dropped into a Best Buy with the Geek Squad team working back in the car audio section. The person we spoke with explained that if you have the battery charger plugged into your cigarette lighter while the unit is playing, it will produce interference and cause the loud humming. So--if anyone does not intend to get the radio hard-wired to to your car, keep this fix in mind.

One thing to know before you buy.............2007-11-16
You must have a window that faces south in order to receive a signal. I live in an apartment that has windows only facing north and east and I can not get a signal and therefore this product is worthless to me. So check to make sure you have access to a south window or somewhere to mount the antenna to face south that also is not blocked by trees or tall structures. Good Luck!
Inexpensive and works........2007-10-14
This receiver was dirt cheap for my 3rd xm radio, mounted it on my motorcyle using ram mounts. Worked flawlessly on my last trip of 1800 miles. I have a Delphi and Pioneer so I find the needed passport module a little odd in that it creates xtra bulk when mounting in vehicles.
One reviewer wrote that the nexus cuts off songs you have recorded, leaving space between songs, this is very true and somewhat annoying!
But for the money I can live with it. Car kits are expensive so shop e-bay for deals!!

A lot of people don't realize that this really does work as a stand-alone MP3 player. I have never had XM radio, and don't yet plan on paying for it, but I have the memory completely filled up with all my favorite songs and use it all the time. Very easy to figure out how to work all the options (I have yet to be able to figure out how to use my husband's ipod). One note - if you're not using it for XM radio don't bother with the installation disk. I have never used it - I just plug it into my computer through the USB where it becomes a new hard drive. Then I just copy and paste my songs to it's assigned hard drive letter. Tell the computer to safely remove that number, disconnect and your on your way.
Now, I said good value for the money - I didn't pay anything for this, but i would say it is easily worth the equivalent 12 hour MP3 player.

This is an excellent product and provides perfect receiption.
HOWEVER - I did not learn until I received the product that it required the receiver be placed in a south-facing window in order to pick up the satellite's signal. There is a 25 foot cord provided to reach into another room but that could be very inconveneint.

The original lineup of XM2Go products (the MyFi, Tao, and Airware) were the first attempt from either XM or Sirius at providing a truly portable satellite radio receiver. As first-generation products, they offered such tantalizing features as a built-in antenna for receiving live XM broadcasts on the go and the ability to record content for playback later. But, like many first-generation products, these technologies were not yet perfected.

Fast-forward a few years: the sequel--the Pioneer Inno--is a radical step forward in both performance, features, and design. (Note: Samsung's Helix is essentially the same model with a slightly different shell.) Boasting a much smaller form factor, slick casing, color screen, and simple user interface, the Inno is the first satellite radio player to make people think twice about buying a straight-up MP3 player.
That's important because not only does the Inno receive all of XM's great content, but it also has built-in storage for your MP3 collection. You can either record up to 50 hours of live XM content into memory, or split it for 25 hours of XM and 25 hours of your personal tunes. Having the option to load a few hundred songs is the perfect antidote for when you're in an area where the Inno can't receive a live signal.
Having some backup entertainment is great, but rest assured that with the Inno, antenna reception is much improved. The Inno's stubby antenna (think a slightly thicker antenna than on your mobile phone) pulled in rock-solid reception all around downtown Seattle, even when placed inside a jacket pocket. Performance will vary depending on your location relative to XM's satellites and network of ground-based repeaters, but it's way better than any of the original XM2Go units. Adding XM's antenna headphones can improve your experience even more.
Thanks to a 10-minute buffer, the Inno is also able to download an entire song from XM, even if you decide to hit record at the end of the song. Connect your player to your PC once you're at home and you'll instantly have the option of downloading that song for keeps via XM's new partnership with Napster.
Another highlight of the interface is the navigation pad. To go directly to a channel, hit the left arrow and then use the virtual keypad to punch in the channel number. If you just want to surf around, hit the right arrow and the display groups the channels by category (Rock, News, Sports, etc.).
The Inno comes with a remote control, a home dock with relevant cables and antenna, nice earbud headphones, software, and more. The rechargeable battery lasted about 4 hours when playing live XM programming, and it will last longer for MP3 playback. An adjustable color screen is another great addition, as it's much easier to see in sunlight and it gives the Inno a high-end feel.

As first-generation products, they offered such tantalizing features as a built-in antenna for receiving live XM broadcasts on the go and the ability to record content for playback later. But, like many first-generation products, these technologies were not yet perfected.
Fast-forward a few years: the sequel--the Pioneer Inno--is a radical step forward in both performance, features, and design. (Note: Samsung's Helix is essentially the same model with a slightly different shell.) Boasting a much smaller form factor, slick casing, color screen, and simple user interface, the Inno is the first satellite radio player to make people think twice about buying a straight-up MP3 player.
That's important because not only does the Inno receive all of XM's great content, but it also has built-in storage for your MP3 collection. You can either record up to 50 hours of live XM content into memory, or split it for 25 hours of XM and 25 hours of your personal tunes. Having the option to load a few hundred songs is the perfect antidote for when you're in an area where the Inno can't receive a live signal.
Having some backup entertainment is great, but rest assured that with the Inno, antenna reception is much improved. The Inno's stubby antenna (think a slightly thicker antenna than on your mobile phone) pulled in rock-solid reception all around downtown Seattle, even when placed inside a jacket pocket. Performance will vary depending on your location relative to XM's satellites and network of ground-based repeaters, but it's way better than any of the original XM2Go units. Adding XM's antenna headphones can improve your experience even more.
Thanks to a 10-minute buffer, the Inno is also able to download an entire song from XM, even if you decide to hit record at the end of the song. Connect your player to your PC once you're at home and you'll instantly have the option of downloading that song for keeps via XM's new partnership with Napster.
Another highlight of the interface is the navigation pad. To go directly to a channel, hit the left arrow and then use the virtual keypad to punch in the channel number. If you just want to surf around, hit the right arrow and the display groups the channels by category (Rock, News, Sports, etc.).
The Inno comes with a remote control, a home dock with relevant cables and antenna, nice earbud headphones, software, and more. The rechargeable battery lasted about 4 hours when playing live XM programming, and it will last longer for MP3 playback. An adjustable color screen is another great addition, as it's much easier to see in sunlight and it gives the Inno a high-end feel.

I read all the reviews on the Inno before purchasing as well as visited quite a few mall kiosks inquiring about the piece and I have to say that this has been the best purchase of the season. We had the Delphi MyFi and had so many problems that we even considered cancelling our service, but not now. We don't have a need for the Antenna headphones. We can sit anywhere in our home and have reception for live XM! We even run on trails and haven't lost reception. I can use all my same home kit pieces from my Delphi. The only negative thing I have about it is that you have to have the car docking kit to use the FM Modulator in your vehicle. If that is incorrect, please someone let me know. I have the car kit for my Delphi, but I never had to plug it into anything, just adjust my station. I say if you are going to get an xm, this is the one!

I have used this unit for about a year in my car with the auto kit and at home in a Belkis F5x007 base unit with external antenna. Except for the following limitation, the radio does everything as specified. I have not had reception problems as others have reported. It is fun, easy and a joy to use.
Be aware of the following:
The battery lasts only about 3 hours of continuous use ever since the radio was new. I've replaced the battery thinking it was defective but I still get the same duration with the new battery. That's not a big deal
but what I find most annoying is the storage capacity of 1GB total, split in two.
This memory is divided 50/50 between your own songs downloaded from your computer and songs you can record from XM listening. Consequently, I can only download from my computer about 25 songs into the inno and no more. The rest of the storage is reserved for XM recordings. That may be OK for you if you only have a few songs to download into the inno but if you have hundreds as I do, it becomes a real annoying limition. Other than that, the radio works great.

This is a great XM receiver. With the home dock, car dock, remotes, screen display, song recording, computer song transfer, and head phone capability this is a very impressive product. This is head and shoulders above other car only receivers.
Worked Great for 3 Months.......2007-11-10
Received this Inno as a gift last year. Was thrilled with it for the first 3 months and then started to have problems with turning it on once out of the docking cradle. Followed all the recommendations that came in the booklet but nothing helped. I believe that this inno came with a defective battery so called Pioneer's customer service which gave me no suggestions and offered no help. I then sent 3 snail mails to their corporate headquarters which in return received no acknowledgement. I then emailed on their web site and received no acknowledgment. I would not recommend this unit to anyone. I believe products are only as good as their customer service and Pioneer proved to me to be the worst there is.

Fits our original XM reciever.......2007-08-22
We have a first generation XM reciever, the old Delhi model. No one supports it anymore. This one does not list it as one that is supported but it is. It works like a charm. I am sad that I cannot get full digital quality in th e car, I have to use the tape adapter or another analog to digital converter but when it is all said and done it still sounds sharp and clear.
Plus the antennea is far more receptive than the home model. We got coverage with the antennea facing north and partially blocked by the roof rack plus under dense tree cover in northern Wisconsin. We never lost a second of music.
There is also the benefit that this is easily taken off the dash board for when the XM is not in the car, of course part of it stays attached but the bulk of it comes off for easy storage in the glove box.
The only thing I would change is perhaps building in a wire management option to help conceal the rest of the very long wires.

So far I haven't had any reason to complain other than this reciever has to many bells and whistles. But thats not a bad thing. Hooked this baby up to my new 50 inch Panasonic Plasma (TH-50px600u) with 7 quality Sony speakers and away I went. I've read other reviews complaining about the Pioneer customer service But so far I have'nt needed to contact them. Had a Sony that was pretty good but not enough power for me. This Pioneer I believe would push my windows out if cranked up. Love it so far.
Good, but not great.......2007-10-25
I have recently purchsed an entire home theatre system including a 50 inch plasma, a PS3, relatively high end speakers, a higer end subwoofer and of course this receiver. While it is good, if I had it to do over again, I might not get it.
First, the good. For my untrained ear, this receiver sounds good. The output is there and it doesn't seem to produce any stray artifcats that aren't there. There are some surround modes (like the Neo:6 that converts 2 channel music to 6 channel music) that don't do a great job. But to be fair, when changing the original format of music to something else, you're going to lose out on something. I would reccomend sticking to the original output of the music (i.e. keep 2 channel music 2 channel).
There is also plenty of power to this. I have no problem driving all of my speakers at levels far too loud to combfortably listen to.
The iPod cord is really pretty cool. I actually didn't know this came with a cord, I assumed it would need to be purchased separately. But when I opened the box, there was a big sheet of paper saying basically that they ran out of the cords so go to the Pioneer website and give them some info (home and AVR serial number) and they will send you one. A few days later I get a cord in the mail. I hook up my older iPod via the dock connect and sure enough, I have instant access to my iPod. What I found really cool about this is my old iPod is pretty much dead. The battery lasts an hour at most (I exclusively use my shuffle now). But with this plugged in to the receiver, not only do you have access to all of the music on the ipod, it charges it at the same time (or keeps it running in my case). So if you have an old ipod that doesn't keep it's charge, and has a dock connect, this is perfect!
In addition to playing the songs, it also shows you what is playing either on the face of the AVR itself or via the On Screen Display (OSD). The OSD looks like something from a commodore 64 but it does the trick. I prefer to just see the song title and artist on the front of the receiver when it plays.
The remote is also really cool. It can control a lot of other devices. I set it up to control my Panasonic plasma. Unfortunately it really can only do volume, channel and power, but to be honest that is all I need it for as I really only turn it on (everything else including audio is done through the receiver).
Now for the bad. If I had it to do over again, this would be the deal breaker for me. Despite the fact it has 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output, these i/o's are for video ONLY. So in my case, I just have a PS3 that I play games and more importantly, watch movies on. I bought this receiver thinking I could just use 1 HDMI cord to connect my PS3 to the receiver and then one more HDMI cord from the receiver to the TV. Well you can do this, but you won't get any sound! So I used a HDMI cord t
