Not Quite what I expected.......2007-12-26
I bought this for my 5 year old neice knowing how much she loved Disney's Princesses. Although she seemed to enjoy it, there's not much instruction, and its sort of difficult for a little girl who has never done these dances to catch on. But I'm sure by her 20th viewing she'll have figured it out. I was also surprised at how short it is. When it was over, she looked at me and said "that's it?" My heart sank. I was so excited to give this to her and when we opened it, I was telling her she'll learn to dance like the princesses. I've danced for years, and even I had trouble knowing what the next step was going to be. Overall, she'll have fun with it. It'll just take some time.

My 2 1/2 year old got this from her grandma for christmas and she absolutely loves it. She only got it last night and she is already trying to imitate the dancers and has been watching it nonstop ever since then. I wish the DVD was a little longer though and some more actual princesses in it but other than that it is a great gift.

As one review here states, don't buy this expecting to see unique animated footage of princesses dancing. There are clips here and there from various Disney movies but the majority of the footage is of an enthusiastic (and stocky!) woman accompanied by a phalanx of cherubic youngsters...dancing.
At first I was disappointed that the movie doesn't even attempt to teach any dance steps. The dance pad that comes with the set is used only in one song and then just barely to demonstrate Ballet's 1st through 3rd position. The wand that comes with the set is sturdy and cool but also doesn't factor into the video much. Still, our 4 year can't watch the video without the pad on the floor and the wand in hand.
So what you're left with is a fun video for the kids to (attempt to) dance along to. The dances are fast but after a few watches our daughter was doing her best to imitate the moves and begging us to dance with her. At least it's something that will get kids off the couch. I would guess that older children might be disappointed with the lack of instruction but younger ones will probably enjoy flailing around while they enjoy the video. In the end you have to admit that no DVD is going to be able to teach very young children to dance anyway.
Also note that the dress on the box does not come with the set.

My 4 year old loves this! She follows along with the actions, loves the music, and likes to watch the movie snippets that are integrated. It's nice that the DVD gets them dancing and moving. It shows girls her age dancing as well as the "leader" who is an older girl. Contains the best songs from the Disney princess movies.

My son received this as a present for Christmas, and I can't imagine anyone buying this after seeing the already written reviews. DO NOT waste your money. We have not had 1 picture we could use or even see out of this thing. For the money, I don't expect much, but I would have thought we could at least see the images in the photo...but nope!

The view finder is so dark (even after trying all 3 adjustments) that you can't even make out what you're looking at. That is what kids really want: to see what they are taking a picture of. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA! I just returned mine and bought the vtech pink camera (just found pink for the first time at toys-r-us for the first time, thought it was only orange). My nephew has the orange vtech and you can see through the viewer and it is expandable, can take video, play games, and won't break if dropped. Go get the Vtech instead!

With a perfect price point for aggressive little hands I thought this might be a perfect gift for a child I know. Sadly there is absolutely no support for Macintosh computers. Shame on the manufacturer for not using industry standard technologies to deliver what seems like a great idea.
I was unable to get any further than taking a couple of snapshots and attempting to connect with iPhoto. This cannot even be mounted as a removable drive. I cannot recommend avoiding this device (or anything else this company makes) any more intensely without being rude.

He was using matchbox cars and pretending that they were Lightening McQueen and friends, but when he recieved the set of these he was so excited. Good as collectables, not so good as actual toys that you play with.
My daugter has broken the hook off of Mater (bought her a new one), broken the wheel off of Dynaco McQueen, and broken the front axle off of the tractor. Mater's tow equipment is made with a softer cheaper plastic than the rest of the toy, and I expect the new one to break any day now.
Without being too sexist, I want to point out that my 4 year old daughter is probably more gentle on them than the average boy playing with them. They have never entered a sandbox. They have not been stood on, nor thrown, nor been monster-trucked by a bicycle.
While I will still probably buy more, as my daughter loves the Cars movie and wants to own them all, (including Frank, which they do not make) I would say to all: buyer beware!

They're not actually hot wheels, but about the same size.
He adores them, and plays with them every day. I would love to get him all of the cars in the set.

Forget using it for Pac-man.......2007-12-17
I bought this to go with two tv-games I just bought-both of which were NOT on the "incompatible" list... and let me tell you...
In regards to the "Jakks Ms. Pac-Man TV Game" ([...]) I just CANNOT get it to fit in there (maybe I'll have to fiddle with the battery coils on the unit...) The spring-type of device this thing uses to "help" you install is twitchy... just as others have mentioned. I gave up after an hour trying to get it to fit into the thing, and believe me... that is no exaggeration of time.
In regards to the "Jakks Pac-Man Gold TV Game" ([...]) I got it to fit after about a 15 minute struggle BUT surprise surprise.... the screw-holes in my AC adaptor to be used to screw it into my unit... THE HOLES DON'T LINE UP! Even see the customer photo I uploaded! The black "nub" with the screw hole is too short to even match the holes on the device! So what did I end up doing? I ended up resorting to taping the AC adaptor to the unit... quick fix, but certainly not the solution!
If you planned on getting this for either of the 2 pac-man tv games I mentioned above... save yourself the money and get some batteries or find a different adaptor because this one will get you nowhere. It's a good thing that this was on sale at the time I bought it, and it was only a waste of $[...].

The only thing is that I can't figure out how to get it into the Jakks Video game I read the instructions and have a screw driver to fit but can't seem to get it to fit into the toy properly. I don't like batteries anymore. I have a really old handheld game, and until recently, I hadn't touched it in 6 years. Recently I found it and discovered that I had left the batteries in it all that time. A semi-dry crystalline-like substance had leaked out of the batteries and all over the game and everything that was sitting under it. What a mess. I even developed a strange looking bruise on my finger shortly afterward, and that may have been caused by contact with the substance while trying to clean up the mess. Who can remember to remove the batteries from something that they won't use for a while? No one is going to know if they won't use something for a while. That's why I don't like batteries anymore.
I have 2 of the Jakks TV games, Ms.Pac-Man and Super Pac-Man. I was going to order 2 of the AC adapters, but noticed that the screw hole on Super Pac-Man was further from the battery compartment than the screw hole on Ms.Pac-Man, so I didn't think the AC adapter would fit both games. I just received the AC adapter, and noticed that the thing with the screw slides in and out so it actually fits both Ms.Pac-Man and Super Pac-Man! It was a little confusing as to how to plug it into the game, but I think it's easier than it first seems, and you just have to plug it in, screw it down and trust that it will work. And it worked for me with Ms.Pac-Man and Super Pac-Man! I'm going to order a second one, so that I can play both games without having to unscrew anything.

This is an AC Adapter for Jakks Pacific Tv Games. I purchased it for use with Ms. PacMan/Xevious and Commando/1942. It works great and I see future potential for retrofitting AC capability onto other 6v devices with the same battery configuration. Specific compatibilities are clearly stated on the product packaging. I may buy another.

Looking for a way to reduce the need to change batteries on my TV Games® plug-&-play units, I grabbed the company's "universal" power adapter That fits into each unit's battery compartment. Well, ALMOST each unit... hence my use of quotations around the word "universal" a few sentences back. Due to either the way the batteries are aligned in some TV Games units, and different power/amp/wattage feeds in others, the adapter isn't nearly as "universal" as advertised. The packaging did give me fair warning about which P&Ps it won't work with, which includes the Atari Paddle, Classic Pinball, Bass Angler Championship, and the Kids Brand (aka NickToons, Disney, etc.) controllers.
Fortunately (?), I was able to use the adapter with my Atari (www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000645DD), ActiVision (www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0001HYSG4), and Wheel of Fortune (www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0009FIN7I) units... granted I can get the battery compartment plug-in plate to behave itself properly, which seldom happens. The springs on the plate's sliding pins are strong, which means you really gotta push the pins in to get `em to stay in place. And if the plate's battery compartment screw isn't properly tightened down, the whole deal can pop out on you. On something of an upside: although it sticks out prominently from the battery compartment, the plate doesn't screw up the ergonomics of the TV Games units I use it with; it doesn't make the comfort level any better or worse. Still, you'd think Jakks Pacific could've taken a far simpler route and just included direct AC adapter jacks on all of their P&P units, and made a truly universal adapter for those P&Ps, so I wouldn't hafta go through all these battery compartment hijinks. But, I guess that's too simple an idea...
But if Jakks IS gonna run with this idea, I'm hoping they'll at least consider selling just the plate part of the adapter so I won't hafta pull the one I have outta one P&P and stick it into another when I wanna play a different TV Games unit. I did consider trying it out with other non-TV Games units that featured the same battery compartment alignment, but the only one where it worked was with the Commodore 64 P&P ()... although the plate was a tighter fit into the C64 compartment than I'd prefer. I'm a bit leery with using this with non-TV Games units, however, because of compatibility issues.
Speaking of compatibility: the adapter's ratings are as follows:
- Input: 120 Volts AC, 60 Hertz, 2.5 Watts
- Output: 8V DC No-Load 1.2VA
- Ideal to be used with DC 6V, 200mA power consumption device
- Positive-core plate jack
Bottom line: Installing the plate part of the adapter can be a major hassle, and really wouldn't have been necessary had Jakks had the foresight to include direct AC adapter jacks in their P&Ps. Still, as soon as the plate's installed and properly screwed down, it keeps its place quite securely. Should Jakks release just the plate part for sale in the future, this might be worth the trouble. Until that day, however, methinks I'll stick to using batteries on my TV Games...

I really like this game. It makes me feel more balanced because you can move vertical as well as horizontal while in the original Meteos you can only move vertical. I prefer this much more over the original Meteos. The graphics are great and so is the music. It really makes you feel like you're a little kid again at Disneyland.

If you are a fan of the original Meteos, this takes the basic play mechanic of moving blocks up and down and also ads horizontal movement. You'd think this would make the game easier, but as the game ramps up in difficulty, you are forced to think fast on your feet.
Most of the game gets unlocked pretty quickly, but the game modes ramp up in difficulty quite a bit quicker than the original. I've yet to get through the hard mode, let alone expert mode, even though I've unlocked everything on the original.

I really believed my girls would enjoy this game, but it was too confusing for the 6 year old, and too boring for the 11 year old. I tried it a few times, but it did tend to get old fast. The storyline didn't add much to the game, anyways, I sold it at a yard sale pretty quickly.

This product is GREAT for my FOUR YEAR OLD. I have read reviews where adults disregard this product as bad sound and images, but what grown-ups are playing this game??
There are two things that I expected but didn't get. #1 - they don't sing Disney songs. They just have it to some techno-beat. It's not some digital BOSE quality music, sounds like a ringtone. This is fine, it's for my kid. #2 - The characters didn't dance along with you but they do dance behind their DJ booth. This is FINE. It's for my kid.
The images aren't playstation quality. BUT, this is FOR MY KID and it was $20. So, it's awesome! HE LOVES IT!!! So much better than when he plays his aunts PS game b/c there are no girls in miniskirts, big [...], and songs w/lyrics I don't listen to.
If you have a kid, GET THIS!

Too Difficult For Pre-Schoolers.......2007-07-17
I was really disappointed in this product after playing it the first time. I was under the impression it would be good for kids around the pre-school age, but my [...]son (who is really physical and has great hand-eye coordination) really struggled with this. The arrows just go way too fast for him even on the easiest setting. He got bored right away with the lousy graphics and monotonous songs. Further, to reset and start over is a struggle as you have to move through several screens. Kids just don't have the patience for that stuff. I appreciate the get-up-and-move games, but this one was lousy!

The dance mat looks colorful and bright but everything else about this product is horrendous. The on screen quality looks about as good as an 8th generation vhs tape stored in an overheated locker since '89. The audio quality is terrible and the on-screen queues as to which way to dance are small and terribly implemented. This has to be the worst product I've bought in the last decade. I was too lazy to try and return it - I just threw it away since my daughter had no interest in using it (despite her enthusiasm when seeing the ad on TV)

I thought this game was pretty fun. It definitely isn't as good as the PS2 games, but after all, it's only $20. I don't see why people gave it such bad reviews; it is fun. It has different levels, so it can be easy or hard. If you are really good at DDr, however, this game will probably be a little too easy. But I am fairly good, and the hardest level is not that easy.

I'm 8 and i got this awesome game in feburary and it's now march and i still haven't beatan it!!! The good thing about it is that before u get to the bosses level u have to do something. In every level the game grades u.So every single level u have to get atleast a B. And once u get a B or higher in each level i think u reach the bosses level But i'm not sure because i still haven't beatan it and reached that part. The bad thing about it is that u have to control kim like perfectly to get aB or over, or else it'll give u a C or something. I sure hope that this commet about the game has helped u buy it too. Beacause u sure will get your moneys worth out of it!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree with the above folks. This clock is near impossible for myself to work, much less my 8 yo. It looks cute, but that's about it. The cone's are way too sensitive, they make no sense as how to work (you can only figure it out by trial and error).
If I could do this over, I would not purchase this clock.

I bought this clock from a warehouse outlet (for 90% cheaper than shown on this website) and as soon as i plugged it in i knew it was being returned. Half the numerals were missing (the 8 looked like an E) and good luck trying to set the time! A horribly designed radio, what a disappointment.
Not worth the money!.......2007-04-02
I'll be putting this alarm clock in our garage sale. This clock is adorable but not practical. There are actually too many buttons (cones) for my son to choose from so he is unable to learn with this clock. The light up display is big enough but not bright enough. The McQueen voice is fun and pretty clear but again, not practical in an alarm clock. And, even though my son was excited about receiving it, he could hardly ever enjoy it because it was too difficult to use. I had trouble even setting the alarm and time because the instructions were cumbersome and not clear. So if I, as an adult, can't work the clock then my five-year is obviously going to have some trouble with it too. We found a better clock through amazon which is a Batman Alarm Clock. And even though it didn't come with an am/fm radio like I originally wanted, the clock works great and my son enjoys being able to hit the "snooze" button himself. Plus, Batman should last us a few years where McQueen was great when it came out but is already getting outgrown.

Wow were to start. My husband and I can not program... if you are lucky enough to figure it out... one nudge, poof you have to set it all over again. Never mind a sleepy 5-6 yr getting up trying to turn it off. It just ruin all the setting! I called the manufacture for the 90 warentee and they were the rudest people I have spoken to in a very long time! When I said the design for children was not good and wanted to make sure that a report got to the designers, he said we sold 30 million with more orders coming in and I am the only one in 30 million people who had trouble setting it and keeping it set! So a A SHOUT OUT to people who are having the same problem, call the manufturer, tell them the problems and if they you, that you are one of 30 million to not get it, and insinuate that you, as I are the not so smart... you are not alone! My husband and I are pritty handy type people and this is just obsured to set, keep set and never mind wake your kid up!! Thanks to those who take the time to call the manf. They are kngAmerica threw out the box!
Mcqueen Alarm clock.......2007-01-17
I ordered this item for my 4 year old son's room. He loves it and presses the sound buttons every morning. The sound is clear and the product looks good. My only complaint would be the directions are hard to follow on setting up the time and such...and its not clear cut like other typical alarm clocks so you need to follow the directions...which like I said are poorly written. Otherwise, my son loves it.
