I bought this for my office based on reviews from iLounge. I love it! Not only does it look cool, it's very compact and streamlined with a nice sound. The remote does stuff that you wouldn't expect like scrolling through albums, playlists, repeat, shuffle, plus the standard volume and play/pause and previous/next. It folds flat for travel or storage and have a very small footprint. The sound has a nice range and sounds bigger than it is. I have a Bose SoundDock at home and although this product isn't as robust in sound quality, it has way more features for a fraction of the cost. If I didn't already have a Bose SoundDock at home, I would have been satisfied with the iStation7 at home and at the office.
Good idea, poor quality.......2007-09-25
I purchased this to listen to in an office setting, and was dissatisfied after an hour of use. I tested the iStation7 at every volume level, and literally every 5 minutes the iStation7 would stop playing; the system was still on, and the iPod continued to play, there was just no sound. I would have to manually pause the iPod and then press play for the the sound to resume. The look of it is nice, and the remote control helps, but constantly having to pause and replay the iPod for the system to work for five minutes is completely unacceptable.
Horrible Speakers.......2007-07-11
I purchased one of these and the sound quality was horrible. The speakers made a crackling noise and had a bunch of static. I replaced that one with a second one and still had the same problems. To make it worse, the remote on the second one hardly worked. I ended up returning that one too.

Nice and compact. Well designed for portability. Fills up a room well however is not very loud at its highest volume. Distortion lowers the speakers ability to allow high volumes however still quite good. Very good little speaker and ever charge the ipod. Not to mention, has a remote, and runs on ac chord or battery powered. RECOMENDED
Neat design & great sound all in one package........2007-06-18
I wanted a speaker for my iPod that I could easily take with me or leave stationary to play music w/o using headphones. I had a hard time finding something that would work with batteries or AC power and this does both. If you're looking for sound quality of a Bose product -- then spend the $500 and buy one. I don't understand why people want to spend the least amount of money on something and then write reviews to say it doesn't measure up to high-quality standards. This little system has a nice sound quality for what I paid for it. The remote is okay, but I seldom use it -- that's what playlists are for.
The iStation7 works great for charging my iPod in a short time period and I like the soft, blue LED light that illuminates while charging. This system came with multiple adapters for various iPod's. My video iPod sits securely docked in the iStation7, while still in the case (contour ISEEV30 iPod case) without using an adapter at all. This was an added plus for me because I don't have to mess with getting my ipod in and out of the case everytime I want to charge it, increasing the likeliness of scratching my iPod. In summary, this little system has great sound for the price. It is portable, can be used with batteries or AC power, and comes with a remote.

i am looking to replace this unit. Midrange is elevated and the highs are weak. The construction quality is ok but I just don't like the sound.

I like the unit. It is small and handy and attractive. I wish the sound was a little more like the sound I get directly from the I-pod. It is not as rich and round as the ear phones. I have used the unit twice and both times had a problem with my Ipod not working properly after that. It seems to recycle itself eventually and go back to working normally. I'm not sure if it is me or the unit doing something wrong. I'd like more troubleshooting options.
Horrible Sound Quality.......2007-07-12
I bought one and I couldn't put up with the static coming from the speakers. There was even static when I paused the ipod. I returned that one and got a second one hoping that the first was just defective. The second one that I received had the same awful sound quality, and the remote hardly worked! Maybe they were both defective, but I've decided to try a different company that doesn't put out as many defective units.

This is a great "little" sound system for your ipods to play on. I use mine at work and immediately liked how easy it is to use. The sound quality is good (up to a certain point) and I work in a large room that is full of students doing art and the sound fills up the space nicely without losing its quality. I will also say that at home, I own a Klipsch (which is comperable to Bose) and if you are looking for that kind of sound quality in this little speaker system than you are better off spending the money on the Bose or Klipsch. I have to admit this little guy does the job and even has little extras like the battery power, adapters for various types of players, AC power adapter and even a remote. So overall, I would say the qaulity is great for the value...just don't expect the same sound and power you get from a Bose stereo.
