I bought this system for my husband to use with his ipod. The sound quality was poor . . .really muddy, especially when the bass boost and "subwoofer" were enabled. I tried unplugging the sub woof and the sound was then tinny and poor. I ended up returning it to the store. We're still on the "hunt" for an economical but great sounding system . .. this wasn't worth it.

I was very dissappointed with the fact that i did not receive instructions for this complex system, i am still trying to figure out how to set the clock!! But to say a few other things about it; the cd and ipod plays well. As for starting up the radio, it's a joke. The antenna is just a string with nothing else to hold it up for a good reception so the radio is always fuzzy. The LCD screen i wish would turn off when you turn off the rest of the system, it is rather bright when trying to sleep. But i am glad to say that i do not have any hissing or beeping with me stereo.

Great product! You can tie your iPod in with your home entertainment system. Plug in the power, plug the Belkin base into your system, and you are ready to go. You can use the iPod or the system to control volume. Use the Belkin remote to control volume and advance to the enxt song. You still have to access the iPod in person to view the on-screen menu, but that's OK. You can't go wrong with this item.

This is perhaps the most useful accessory that I have used with my iPod. Not only are the batteries always kept at full charge, WITHOUT using up a port on my computer, the hard connection to my stereo provides better sound quality than the wireless gadgets that I have used before.
The wireless remote works great, allowing me to control the device from the next room.
I did have a little trouble at first with the remote... it quit working soon after I got the unit. I found that the little tab on the battery holder that contacts the circuit board needed to be bent slightly upward to make better contact with the underside of the board. It is likely that I bent it down by accident when I installed the battery, and it was just barely making connection. After making this adjustment, the remote has worked flawlessly.
Note: I am using the dock with an iPod mini, so I have not tested the video functions.
Shortly after I received the dock, Amazon dropped the price by about 5 bucks, I sent a brief e-mail, and quickly received credit for the difference...THANK YOU Amazon!

I have a 80gb iPod classic which I bought this dock for. Let's just say I never even got it off the ground, so I can't really comment on the working functionality of it. My unit did not work right off the bat - the battery tray was broken in the remote, and the main unit would not turn on. The construction (particularly the remote) is EXTREMELY flimsy. I returend it right away. I'm still looking for a good solution here.
I would reccomend against this dock for the quality issues. Usually I like Belkin products but I just can't say anything for this, except that it does look nice and is a nice compact size.

First of all, I bought this to use with music, not really to connect to the tv.
The cord is a bit too short in my opinion, so connecting it to the dock where I wanted it to be in my apartment was a bit tricky. Then my remote doesn't always work, then I'll have to reconnect the cord to the dock to re-establish the connection, which is a bit annoying. And I don't know whether it was my misunderstanding, but I somehow thought I could control the volume with the remote, but I can't. Maybe it's down to the fact I'm connecting this to Harman Kardon Soundsticks, not a proper stereo system with the whole works (cd player, radio, dvd and stuff)..
But then again, the dock looks good and the remote works from quite a distance!

I was skeptical about this accessory working for me where I work because I am in the middle of a floor with a hundred other people, all in cubicles and other electronics, and not near a window. Radio works well, easy to use, reasonable price and has good reception. Also comes with a set of earbuds.
All you have to do is plug this baby in and you get a radio option on the main menu. When in radio mode you can set station presets easily and if the station you are listening to supports RDS you will see the song information displayed.
There are a couple minor complaints with it worth mentioning. First you cannot charge your ipod while listening to the radio as the radio plugs into the dock connector. Second, it really drains battery life. I haven't done any formal testing but my non-scientific observation would put battery drain at 2x or greater of normal music listening usage .

Radio functions are really handy to have, though I've discovered I use it more as a remote control for my iPod.
The volume control on the remote has proven to be very handy for when playing Mahjongg.
Radio features are minimal, but I can't think of what features would add more usefulness.
$50, though? It's a bit steep, but then again, so is the price of an 80G iPod. Certainly a toy marked to those who can afford the expensive toys.

As reported, the volume button has a bad habit of blasting all the way to the max but I thought I could live with it. However this is clipped to my backpack with the Ipod inside and it cant even consistently fast forward through songs or skip back and forth.

I'm a big fan of wireless remotes for my iPods and this is probably the only one available with a transmitter that's both waterproof and glove-friendly. Worked like a charm at first, but eventually, using the volume control became totally unpredictable. At the worst times trying to nudge the volume up one baby-step would result in the iPod shooting all the way up to top volume! Then it'd go back down all the way to nothing when I tried to turn it back down. (grumble)
I visited Monster's corporate web site and complained to support. They arranged for me to send in the old iEZClick and replaced it with a new unit. It worked great, for a while. Now the new unit is doing the same thing. All the way up! All the way down!
You could say I'm a bit disappointed. Three stars, mostly for the good support/replacement policy.

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT PLAIN AND SIMPLE. I looked into ipod remotes that are weather resistant and I only came up with two, this one and another made by belkin. I haven't tried the belkin product yet but this one doesn't work. It did everything the bed reviews mentioned. The volume goes all the way up then all the way down. It only works at a very close distance and even up close you often have to press the button several times. I would not buy this product until monster comes out with an updated model because they clearly did not work all the bugs out of this one. I have to say I am surprised as I have usually been quite pleased with monster cable products. Oh ya DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT UNTIL THEY COME OUT WITH A NEW MODEL!!!

Bought the item back mid July 2007, was working fine until 2-3weeks ago.
The forward key doesn't work properly anymore.
After removing the face rubber, found out that the forward dip switch has poor connectivity as it isn't soldered to the board.
I believe it is just bad luck. I'll do the repair myself as soon as I can find a solder iron.
Otherwise great remote to use with IPOD, reason of the 4 stars

I have purchased three of these for my business. The application is terrific, unfortunately, we're rough on the remote and the two purchased in March 2007 need repair. I spoke to Jose in customer service on Nov. 16th and was given a warranty repair number. He was extremely helpful and assured me my repairs would be done immediately. I returned two remotes, and they were received in-house by Keyspan on Nov. 21st. I have yet to hear from anyone regarding the status of my repairs. I have been unable to reach a live person. I have left messages on Jose's voice mail, the main voice mail, and I have emailed numerous times. I have not heard a thing!!! Now the phone just rings and rings. It doesn't bode well. Beware!!!
Searching Song List Takes Awhile.......2007-12-14
I've had this item for about 4 months and compared to the previous remote, this is many times better. My only gripe is that I wish there was a quicker way to find a song or artist. Currently, you go to your song list and have three choices from which to search for your song. Beginning, middle and end of list. With 8,000 songs, it takes quite awhile to find your song unless it starts with the letters A, M, or Z.
An improvement would be having the capability to atleast punching in the first letter of the song or artist to reduce the searching.
As stated above, this is a fine product and as far as I know, the best product on the market. But as we all know, there is always room for improvement.

The reason they ask for more money for a 2 year guarantee is because their products will eventually stop working. THIS IS JUST A WARNING

I owned & used this item for 4 months before I even found out it added FM radio to my iPod !! no kidding ! I just kept using it as a remote control while walking or running, clipped to my t-shirt at belly-button level; perfect for controlling fwd/reverse and volume while running.
Allows me to place my iPod anywhere, out-of-sight, and not touch it until I'm done, due to the added length this device gives to the earbuds.
Very handy, works very well for my needs; good quality just like other Apple stuff.
As for the radio, I just tried it recently a few times and it seems to work fine; but I likely won't use it much, because I listen mostly to Podcasts and mp3s.

I use this with my 5th Gen iPod Video 40Gb and it works just fine. The pass through charging works like a charm with my Griffin charger. The response rate is a little slow (press a button, then short delay before iPod responds), but not horrible. The steering wheel "gripper" does a great job; I can tighten it enough so that it's very stable and doesn't give. Definitely recommend it.

I purchased this for use in my car. I had planned on keeping my iPod in the glove compartment, and use this remote attached to the steering wheel to control it. This turned out to be almost impossible. The remote only works reliably around 2 ft away from the ipod, any further away and it will start "missing" commands.
On the bright side, it was very easy to attach to the steering wheel.

Buyer Beware! .......2007-09-14
In spite of the product description, this will not work as a wired remote for the ipod 3G. The radio works but you might feel a bit silly hauling around a $200+ ipod to serve as a battery for a radio. A really bad choice.......2007-07-27
Save your money. The construction is extremely cheap. My Griffin iFM fell apart in a couple of months! I couldn't put it back together because the controls don't line up and the sides won't glue. I wish I could find another alternative but I can't find one.
Besides that, one will have to carry two devices from now on instead of one, and this Griffin has long chords, that will twist and tangle all the time.
Having to add a device like this iFM is ridiculous. It would be better to just use another device with FM rather than lugging around an Ipod just to power up this other device. Apple should really think about this...
Don't see the point .......2007-05-01
I bought the iFM to use with my new Nano. The only relationship it has with the Ipod is to use it for power. When you plug this into the Ipod, you now have 2 separate devices to carry; the Ipod does not even have to be on for the iFM to work. Ipod really needs to add the FM tuner because having to add a device like the iFM is ridiculous. It would be better to just use another device with FM rather than lugging around an Ipod just to power up this other device.

I have both an iPod Nano and Sandisk Sansa e250. If you don't already own an iPod but is thinking of getting one along with this iFM Radio, consider this:
Cost of iPod+FM = $145+$36=$181
Cost of Sansa = $107
The Sandisk (or even the Zen or the new Samsung) has many more features (MP3 player, Photo viewer, Video player, Voice recorder, FM Radio and MicroSD memory expansion slot) for much less money. I must admit, the iPod is definitely more sexy and more user friendly. I just wish Apple wouldn't get too greedy and instead integrate the FM Radio feature in the next release of iPods.

build qaulity seems to be fragile, it still intact for me.
Eqaulizer button is too small to be usable.
both ipod dock connector and head phone jack come from the bottom, it would have been better if headphone jack comes out of the top
