Customer Reviews:
ipod cable i must have.......2007-12-25
EXCELLENT
A simple cable that gives you complete Ipod controll on your deck, better than any other type of ipod adaptor product I have ever used and there have been many.
Great cable...but not for iPhone........2007-12-08
This interface cable works great with the iPod but not so great with the iPhone...in fact, not at all. When the iPhone is connected, the phone does not charge and you will receive an error on your head unit's display. The phone will then ask if you want to switch to airplane mode then play only the last album in your library with no option to control the music.
Great Purchase.......2007-12-07
The purchase was just perfect. I received the product I wanted in time. I install it with my new DVD player Pioneer AVH-5900 and it works just great. With the old system it was very complicated to operate the iPod but with this one is very simple.
Keeps 16 yr old's eyes ON THE ROAD!.......2007-11-28
Except that my husband and son took a bit of time to thread the cord behind the unit and create a reasonable "ipod holder" out of the ashtray(in a 1989 Olds-too "old" to understand Ipod cords).....THIS IS A SMART BUY!
All his music is easily transported from house to car without any bulky adapter boxes swinging around the dash.
The cable combined with the Pioneer stereo sounds great! Since the speakers had to wait for Christmas - I'm very impressed with the sound coming from the old Olds factory installed speakers. I can't wait to hear the quality with new speakers!
I am NOT anxious to ride with my son, though. But, when I was forced to accept a ride from the airport in the "music-mobile", I was impressed. Although the Pioneer's remote is rubberbanded to the top of his center console and he uses it like crazy - he never looks at it! The 30GB Ipod stores a massive library of music. It was a relief to only notice a flick of the finger to the remote as we sat at a stoplight. I realized - he's likely a safer person on the road than I AM! My time at the stoplight is spent fishing INSIDE my console to see if there is anything I'm not sick of hearing already - then fumbling to eject from single CD player, swap in fresh disc...then as the light changes and traffic is moving again - I try to keep glances quick as I fumble to recase and return the replaced CD into the center console. If the console lid jams - well - Just hope you aren't driving the same road that I AM! Take the newbie teen driver road and stay safe! He's watching the road AND choosing music from a library bigger than I would've dreamed possible at his age! STAY SAFE AND ENJOY LIFE....PACK YOUR POD AND GET THE CABLE!
seriously a must have.......2007-10-10
ever since installing this, i've enjoyed driving 10x as much. i honestly can't live without it. i no longer have to take out the navi cd just to listen to music. i used to burn cd's with 18 tracks. now i have 18gb of music to choose from. you can also watch ipod videos with this cable. i can't see myself ever going back to cd's.

Customer Reviews:
Ok sound, really terrible interface on a DEH-8600MP.......2007-12-19
Is it just my head unit guys? Everyone complains its slow and hard to search, but mine goes beyond that usefulness to fall in to worthless category.
I've tried both the IB100 and now the IB100ii, both appear to work identical with my head unit. By default, I only see a 'external' source, and the display is way over on the right edge of the screen, only showing 8 characters. On top of that, the characters are: IPOD0001 where the 0001 seems to be counting seconds.
I can go in to the function menu and switch between that ipodxxxx, song, artist, cd, but they all only show 8 characters and doesn't scroll.
if ipodxxxx is displayed and I press the multi-control right, it just restarts the currently playing song. Up and down switch between playlists, but I can't see which song is playing.
If I want to pause a song, I have to press in on the multi-control, go to function, then select function one and press the multi-control and then it pauses it. REAAALLLY useful pioneer!
I think they should have left out support for old head-units on this thing. It's better going and getting an AUX in pbus adapter with a Stereo to RCA cable.
Oh and I have the 30gb iPod video and can not get the navigation trick to work for the life of me.
So is it just me with the display way over on the right and only showing 8 characters?
Great product........2007-12-15
Synced up to my Pioneer CD player flawlessly very compact easy to stow away. Allowed for scrolling through the playlists of the iPod on the cd player.
Excellent product.......2007-12-12
If you're tired of re-burning CD's with MP3's everytime you get some new ones, this is the answer. I've got the Pioneer DEH-P77MP which is ipod compatible. After soldering a few wires and running the ipod cable to the glovebox, I have my mp3's from my 8gb nano being channelled through to my headunit. The quality is excellent as the ipod cable is the proper audio phono type, NOT mini jack. Another benefit is that if you have mixtapes or other mixed albums, itunes plays them gapless. Well recommended and I have fitted one for my fiancee as well.
Seamless Integration.......2007-12-12
I bought this despite some of the reviews about slowness using the menu. I have not seen that at all. It took about 10 minutes to install and it works great. I installed it in a 2006 WRX with a Pioneer head unit. My Apple 8gig touch plugs right in with no issues and charges the whole time, even if the car is off. The menu on my head unit is slick, it shows the a picture of the iPod and the menu is quick and easy to use. My head unit is a Pioneer 6800MP. I recommend this for anyone using an iPod in their car, it was so easy to install and it sounds awesome.
Pioneer CD-IB100ii iPod® Interface Adapter Control your iPod with your Pioneer stereo
Works good, but not 100%.......2007-07-25
This works pretty good, but there are a few things that i would have liked to change. You cannot control your music from your ipod. Really clear audio, just the control stinks.

Not as hard to navigate as I thought..........2006-05-22
I installed this along with a Pioneer DEH-P4700MP in my brother's car and am very surprised at how well it works.
Installation was dirt simple, connect wire here, connect wire there, plug in iPod, done!
And everybody is complaining about how hard it is to navigate through, well I'm glad to say it's not as bad as everybody's been saying. It is "clunky" when it comes to finding a curtain artist or song, but you need to remember one thing, this was originally made for Pioneer's AVH-P5700DVD and it just so happens to work with most of their other head-units. So basically if you have your iPod organized well, it shouldn't be a problem.
All in all it's worth dealing with it's clunky navigation just to have a direct feed from the iPod as well as getting it and keeping it fully charged.
UPDATE:
After using this for a while I've found that it is indeed faulted on it's interface.
Pros: Cheap, charges the iPod, easy to connect, works, good sound quality via the dock connector.
Cons: Trying to navigate to a specific song is a pain in the A**!
All in all the product works well connecting your iPod to your headunit and playing songs through your car's system. But actually using it is a pain if you want to listen to a specific song. And you'll end up searching for that 1 song for several minutes.
Pioneer needs to work on improving the functionality of finding songs.
5 stars on how it actually works, 1 star on the usability of it.

Why, oh why, didn't I check Amazon reviews first?.......2006-11-25
I am totally stunned that this could be sold as iPOD compatible. Nothing, absolutely nothing, works as you would intuitively think it would. Pause does not pause, forward arrow does not forward to the next track (just starts the same track over and over again), and heaven help you if you actually want to find a specific song or artist. There is no way to actually speed through a menu - you have to advance one artist at a time. This is fine if you love Aaron Neville but chances are you will be in a limb severing accident if you are trying to get to ZZ Top. I am taking this back tomorrow and demanding something that will allow me to control my iPod again from my iPod.
Watch out Navigation Trickers.......2006-11-20
If you apply the last update to the Ipod Software (the one that let you play new games, and video podcast), the Navigtion Trick will no longer work. In the case of my 60Gb Ipod video, I've had to restore an old software version in order to get the navigation trick working again
Just Marvelous.......2006-11-05
This product has en excellent compatibility with Avhp 5700 DVD, I strongly recommend it.
ugh!.......2006-07-02
got this installed today along w/ the pioneer deh-p58000mp head unit at best buy...plugged in the ipod, check mark shows up on the screen, and....nothing...i can't even control it on the head unit...sometimes, if i'm very lucky, the check mark screen doesn't come on for 30 seconds or so and the ipod actually plays (it's at the normal ipod screen), then once the check mark screen comes on, complete silence...i have a 3g 10gb ipod and as far as i should know, it should work...the head unit is also annoying b/c if you put the mp3 cd on random and want to skip songs, it unrandomizes & plays the song right after it...so if you're like me and you skip songs a lot and like to set it on random, it doesn't work...i think i'm returning both tomorrow...
