Customer Reviews:
Too much buzz.......2007-12-24
This product was returned because of the incessant buzz. I could not find an fm frequency that worked well, and the product was hard to use. Frequency change was not intuitive.
DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM.......2007-12-12
The first one I got was out of order and I had to return it. The replacement lasted only 2 months since it broke into pieces. On top of that, the receiver was so weak that every certain miles I had to reset it - while driving. The connector to the ipod is probably the least user-friendly connector I've seen. I bought it because I've had execellent experience with Monster products in the past, but truly, I cannot believe how bad qaulity this product is.
The best I've tried so far........2007-12-07
This is the 4th transmitter I have tried and it has the best sound so far. It's very clear and low to no static. I've tried a Belkin, a DLO and a Monster iTrip. I haven't used it long, but so far so good. I'd recommend it.
Better than the rest!.......2007-11-27
I bought iCarPlay a few weeks ago after purchasing several other fm transmitters. The Monster is the best yet! I have a Honda Accord and it would not pick up a clear signal from any other transmitter. Then, I bought the Monster. Its signal came in clearly on all three channels. Switching channels is easy with the lighted presets. I am very happy with the product and wish I had not spent $99 on an inferior transmitter.
A GOOD BY FOR THE PRICE.......2007-11-26
I AM HAPPY WITH THE ITEM. ONLY BAD PART IS BECAUSE IT IS DIGITAL, IT IS HARD TO SEE THE STATION IT IS SET TO DURING THE DAY TIME.

Customer Reviews:
Great idea........doesn't work.......2007-12-26
Apparently Monster has some real quality issues, this is my second bad experience with their products. Unit intermittantly stops transmitting, have to unplug to reset. Autoscan......great idea....needs more work. 120 sec to scan and you still have a busy station. Amazon was great on the return policy though, prepaid shipping.
Excellent Product!.......2007-12-26
This is an excellent product - works exactly as advertised. I highly recommend it, especially if you live in a city with lots of frequencies in use.
Great Product.......2007-12-24
Does go out from time to time, but that's mainly due to the fact I live in LA and there are no free radio stations anymore. Great deal!
Auto scan is a great addition.......2007-12-18
I have tried the old monster cable and wasn't very happy with it as there was a lot of static with it. This auto scan cable allows you to do a search to find the clearest channel. We've had the new cable for about a month and would recommend it to others.
do not purchase if you have the ipod touch.......2007-12-04
I purchased this product last week because a few people i know have used this and said it is the best fm transmitter for the ipod. 5 minutes after it came in i went to my truck to hook up my ipod, there was nothing. I am not sure why, but the radio station will not appear on the ipod touch screen and will not allow you to know what station you are tuned into to set your radio to. On monster's website ( as of 12/3/07) this is the first product listed on the page for touch accessories. After waiting on hold for over 30 minutes to talk to a tech support rep. from monster, i found out that the page on www.monstercable.com was wrong and that if you have a ipod touch, you should not buy this. Monster agreed to send me the correct one in exchange for this one. The one that is being sent to me is the Monster iCarPlay Wireless Plus.

DVD review.......2007-01-11
Works well. Only 2 minor issues: First is the buttons on the front of the player are not clear re: stop, play, ect. which in the dark while traveling is frustrating as you push in trial & error. The remote is direct line of sight only. The second is the wireless headsets. They have a button on each that scans 4 frequencies for the sound connection. It is very easy to push this button & lose the connection while simply putting the headsets on or if a child adjusts theirs without realizing it until you question why you can't hear the movie. You have to keep pushing the button til the sound comes back clear. Also there was interferace one time by a powerful radio station in the major town we were in. On the other hand, the volume control is not as easy to change, that's a good thing with kids, and can be set & left at an appropriate level.
Great for the money.......2006-12-15
I bought this because I wanted a dvd player that could EASILY tap into my car's audio. With the built-in FM transmitter, movies sound great! The tablet style design makes this unit compact and stylish. I have no need for the wireless headphones, so I haven't even tried them yet. The controls are easy to learn and use. The viewing angle is better than I anticipated. No complaints.
Very Disappointed.......2006-12-14
After waiting for over 6 months for the release of the Coby TF-DVD7060 with wireless headphones(it was supposed to be released last summer, according to the Coby website), I was very excited when it finally became available.
Before purchasing this product, I had own the Coby TF-DVD7050 (very similar DVD, but without the wireless capability), for several months and had been very satisfied with it. So I thought the TF-DVD7060 with the wireless capability would be an improvement right?
Well, not so much...
The main problem is that the wireless capabilities are extremely limited. The Coby TF-DVD7060 has a radio transmitter, and the headphones have a radio receiver. The product manual says the reach of the transmition is up to 6 feet, but in reality the headphones don't work if the distance from the DVD player is more than 3 feet. I guess it is OK for someone that wants to use it in the car or while sitting on a desk, but that's it. I usually use my DVD while on the stairmaster, or doing chores around the house, and because of the limited reach, this product was useless to me.
So I returned the product, and with the difference in price (~$50) I bought a bluetooth wireless headphone kit (that comes with a transmitter), and stuck to my "old" TF-DVD7050, making it "wireless". Hopefully Coby will realize that the radio technology doesn't work, and move to Bluetooth soon. Only then I would be willing to give their new model another try.

not reliable.......2007-10-19
I bought it and once used during the trip to Grand Canyon.
The power inverter is OK but noise, however the transmitter function is really bad. The signal by the transmitter was so weak, it was only functional when we was Grand Canyon without any interference by public radio. After trip, the transmitter function stoped to working any more.
Loud fan and buzz in FM transmitter.......2007-09-24
Purchased the item September 7th 2007.
Put it in my 2007 Chevy Silverado for an FM transmitter for my Dell Axim X30.
Had a $15 cheap no-name fm transmitter from CompUSA that worked OK, but fell apart.
First thing I noticed was the loud fan. Sounds like an old noisy CPU fan. Doesn't seem to have any temperature sensing since it fires up right away and stays at full power. Rotated it to redirect the sound, but ended up getting an extension and sticking it in my console. I can still hear it over the HVAC fan and road noise (stereo off).
Next I tried the FM transmitter and found that it was clipping badly. I am running the Replay Gain Handler (No clipping) Plugin for Pocket Player (which fixed my clipping problems in the past) and fiddled with the gain to minimize the clipping. In the end, minimizing the gain and lowering the volume seemed to fix the clipping issue which lead to the next problem.
With or without content being sent the transmitter adds a low hum to the sound. This is not present on standard radio stations and wasn't as loud on my old cheap-o transmitter. Between the low volume/gain on my Axim and keeping the stereo volume low to avoid the hum, it can be frustrating.
Last issue... The USB plug was installed crooked. I had to twist the white wedge to get the plug in. It moved with a snap... so I don't have a lot of confidence in its longevity. It does work though.
Haven't tried the inverter.
Hope this helps other purchasers.
great so far, we'll have to see in the long run.......2007-09-17
I just bought this unit, tried it out over the weekend...so far so good. I read the other review that said it died after a month, i'll have to see. It sounds like the may have blown the fuse, they did send a spare with it, and also you can pick them up online here or at many harware stores. Hard to say what happened. Anyway, It works great with my mp3 player and DVD player, and the brodcast is good, but i do wish it was a full fm range and not just 15 stations. I do have another transmitter, and when i got into larger cities, I used the whole range. But, for the versitility, you can't match this unit. It's universal for anything player, Ipods, zune, gigabeat, zen because it is a plug in, it has USB charge as well, is even has a lighter adapter for another device as well. Look around, you'll be back to get this one.
Noisy.......2007-09-13
It looked good, and worked well. However, when I put this device into a cigar jack, it made a noise. Thus, I gave up using this device while I am driving.
Excellent.......2007-08-09
Used in my RV for a week trip. Ran my Ipod, GPS, and FM transmitter with no trouble at all. Works as it should. Very happy

Wireless works but Regular batteries don't last long.......2007-03-09
Regular batteries only last through about 4 albums. The only practical way to use this player is with rechargeable batteries. I am satisfied however, with the wireless aspect which works with no problems.
Bad news.......2006-05-01
Anti skip doesn't work well. Headphone jack quit working after a couple of months.
OK Player - Bad Transmitter.......2005-09-03
I got this to use in the car since my tape deck died. The player itself is OK. It didn't skip at all. The FM transmitter was not very good, though. There was a constant whine and the sound was distorted during volume peaks in music. I ended up returning it.
Great Innovative Product.......2005-08-03
I was really surprised to come across this product. I needed to upgrade the FM radio/cassette player in my car to an MP3 player without having to spend lots of $$$ and without the hassle of installation. I did some searching and came across this product. My first reaction was this couldn't be true, almost sounds too good to be true. And my second reaction was "Never heard of Coby, must be a shabby product". I still went ahead and ordered it because I was intrigued at what it promised to do. Well, the CD MP3 player does what it promises. It's a quality product from a company I have never heard of before, but in the future I'll look out for more products from Coby. If you need a portable, inexpensive MP3 solution for your car that is equipped with an FM radio, this is the best. Before I ordered the product, I was concerned about the sound quality, but now I can assure that it is excellent, the MP3 player delivers a clear sound. Doesn't look bad either.

Best for the price.......2007-11-06
It has many different frequencies. so, can set it to cleared quality. work with car plug so, no need for batteries. Also has display with backlight. That will help to see desired frequentness during night time.
big disappointment.......2007-05-15
After following all directions on this product, there was still static even on the clearest channel. Could not get clean reception. Big disappointment and would not recommend to anyone.
It's Okay, But...........2006-11-16
I would be more impressed with this if it had two USB outputs -- one to power the transmitter and one to power my USB Sansa E200. The transmitting ability is spotty to very good depending on where you are.
So-So.......2006-04-06
I needed a way to play music from my iPod in my car. This piece is very user-friendly but the sound quality was terrible. If you listen at a low volume it's fine but I like blasting my music. If you're looking for an iPod/car transmitter, I suggest you look into other options...
Works flawlessly.......2006-03-16
I am writing this because I saw another review that complained the product was not durable. I have had mine for over a year, use it extensively with a Zen Micro and have found absolutely no problem with the construction. The other reviewer was correct about the reception and clarity. I have used it while traveling and never encountered an area that performance was hampered.

The wireless FM adapter is designed to transmit the music from a portable CD player, iPod, or MP3 player to an empty frequency on your FM dial. All you have to do is plug the SF250 into your player's headphone jack, and then tune the radio to any one of the eight supported FM stations (88.1, 88.3, 88.5, 88.7, 107.1, 107.3, 107.5, and 107.7 MHz). Once you find an empty frequency, the SF250 plays your favorite songs directly through your car's stereo speakers. Product Description
Arkon's SF250 SoundFeeder Digital Wireless Stereo Music Adapter allows you to transmit the audio from any portable audio player to your car's FM radio in stereo! The electronics of the SF250 are based on Phase Lock Loop (PLL) synthesized circuitry. This technology allows you to tune in to a specific frequency, a definite advantage as you'll not have to deal with "electronic drift." The stability and performance of this device make the SF250 the perfect solution for nearly all of your portable audio adapting needs. Here's how it works! Simply plug the audio cord on the SoundFeeder into the headphone jack of your portable audio player. Then tune your radio to any of the 8 digitally tuned FM stations supported by this device. These include 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, 88, 7, 107.1, 107.3, 107.5, 107.7Mhz.Many competing products only offer 4 digitally tuned frequencies to choose from. The SoundFeeder SF250 has 8 thereby giving you twice as many chances of being able to find a blank station in your area.
Customer Reviews:
This works fine!.......2007-09-29
I admit that I took a gamble on this one after seeing that some folks were not that crazy about this product. I'm shocked that they said that the performance for this was not good - its fine! I use this in the office and at home. Admittedly, I place this product right next to my radio, but wouldn't you also? If one is trying to transmit some distance from the radio, perhaps from across a room, maybe this is not the right product, but if you are going to use it next to your radio, go for it. Now, the negative - this thing does eat batteries! I use rechargeable batteries in almost everything. I can't get but 18 hours use on one charge with this product. But, now that I know that, I plan accordingly. If you use rechargeable batteries, and use your radio almost 24-7 like I do, this is a fine product!
For me, a waste of money.......2006-10-03
My goal: listen to XM radio from DirecTV receiver over the stereo system in our RV. The stereo system unfortunately has no aux input, so a transmitter sounded like the perfect solution.
Setup was easy and I used the RCA-style plug adapter thoughtfully provided to connect to the aux output of the DirecTV receiver. The RV antenna is directly above the cabinet containing the SoundFeeder, so the range is no more than 3 feet.
After trying the 88 and 107 MHz freqs, I still got loads of static & distortion. I thought it might be interferance from local (Dallas) FM stations transmitting near the 88 and 107 MHz freqs, but got the same distorted & staticky performance in camp, away from 88 and/or 107 MHz stations.
Sound quality is that of a VERY cheap AM transistor radio; we get better sound thru the 13" cheapie TV speaker. Very disappointed.
AAA batteries?.......2006-01-11
I just received this item in the mail. I chose it specifically because everything said it took AA batteries. But now it says on the back of the package that it takes 2 AAA batteries. Disappointed and Confused.
Good but not great.......2005-09-13
I like it for the most part but the thing with it is that it goes thru batteries like water. 1 set of batteries may last a few days and as it is sucking power the reception to whatever radio you use gets weak. Also, I found out that while using the transmitter, your player has to be turned down or else it will overdrive the transmitter and the sound will be poor. You pretty much have to search for the balance between your transmitter and radio in order to get quality sound between the them.
shoddy construction, poor performance.......2005-09-10
The battery compartment on my unit was very difficult to open, one of the springs on the battery terminals broke the second time the batteres were replaced, in the Philadelphia area it was almost impossible to find a channel among the 8 available that gave decent sound quality without a lot of interference, could only get good sound quality in the boonies, and even then it drifted in and out.

Play your portable music player in the car without upgrading to an expensive new stereo system with the Arkon SF150A SoundFeeder. The wireless FM adapter is designed to transmit the music from a portable CD player, iPod, or MP3 player to an empty frequency on your FM dial. All you have to do is plug the SF150A into your player's 3.5 mm headphone jack, and then tune the radio to any one of the blank FM stations between 88.1 and 95.9 MHz. (The transmitter works best when the station plays nothing but static.) Once you find an empty frequency, the SF150A plays your music directly through your car's stereo speakers. The sound quality is solid and reliable, though it does require precise manual tuning for best results.
Listeners can also use the SF150A on other radios as well, such as home stereos or portable boomboxes. And at a mere 3.38 by 1.62 by 0.88 inches (W x H x D), the SoundFeeder takes up very little space, letting you store it in a cup holder, pocket, or other location. For how much you pay, this is a good product........2007-12-03
My ipod had just died on me, and there was still 6 months until christmas. So I went cheap, bought a 15 dollar 1 gig mp3 player at Ritaid and was looking for a easy fix to listening to music once again in my car. Mind you I did not have a tape deck. I found this on Amazon for under 10 bucks and said why not. Even with the so/so reviews. I'm glade I bought it.
First, the battery life on this fm transmitter is great. I even went cheap on the batteries, buying them at save-a-lot and they lasted me probably 3 weeks, if not more. During those three weeks I even left the transmitter on over night once on accident. Mind you these batteries were a dollar for ten. So battery life I give a 10 on this product.
Second, sound quality is pretty good. If you are using this transmitter to listen to music through a radio at work or your home it's just as good as any other off brand fm transmitter out their, including belkin, and is much cheaper. In my car I did run into a few minor problems. I have a bass system in my car and did find that the tune dial on the fm transmitter sometimes would not hold it's position and I would lose signal and sometimes would find myself trying to tune it back in at traffic lights and stop signs. But given that the battery life on this device lasts twice as long as any other model transmitter and it's as cheap as it is I say that it was a great buy, and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to spend 20 bucks on a wireless transmitter. The plus side the battery life will last an all day road trip, but will your patients. Again though, anywhere else other than a car it sounded great and had minimal frequency disturbance and was a great buy!
Oh! also the cd player in my car was digital, so this fm transmitter does work with digital tuners.
This Blows!.......2007-07-19
I received the product the very next day! The seller was honest and efficient. However, the product itself does not work as well as I thought it would. I do not recommend the product but I do recommend the seller.
Good for the price.......2007-06-07
This unit is good for playing on a simple analog radio with no inputs. I am using it at work to play my iPod on the little cd boombox we have. I have this transmitter touching the antenna, and the quality is alright but not great. I'm sure there are better out there, but this is adequate for if you do not want to spend much money to play MP3s on a radio. Keep in mind that I had a hard time finding a clean station on the radio before even turning this on, so in a less busy area you may have better luck getting better sound quality. This would not work well in a car, you have to adjust the station carefully. I would only rate this 3 stars, but have read such bad reviews on almost every other wireless transmitter that i think this is probably a really good one for the very low price.
Road Trip.......2006-07-09
I wished the range to find a empty station was wider. Sometimes I couldn't find a unbroadcasted area from FM88-95.
Complete Pain.......2006-06-12
I thought it was a complete pain to have to adjust the radio then adjust the knob on the transmitter. It's very hard to manage while trying to drive so I dont recommend this. I wish I would have just paid a little more money for something better.

Good Quality for the Price.......2007-06-08
I was looking for something my Mom could use in her car (her casette player eats tapes so a casette adapter wouldn't work) and for whom an IPOD and the work of teaching her to use it and add music too would be more work and money than it was worth.
Despite some negative reviews about quality of sound or trouble finding stations to transmit on that I read about and after pricing a portable CD player and FM Transmission adapter separately, I figured I couldn't beat the price or the convience of this. Worst case scenario, I would pick her up some speakers to plug in if it didn't transmit well.
Gave it a test run the day we gave it to her. We easily found a station in just seconds that would work (even in a major midwest city) and sound quality was as good as radio if you adjusted the volume controls a bit. She was able to easily understand how to use it and she says she loves that she can now listen to CD's in her car.
Very satisfied with this and even thought of getting one for myself rather than spending time turning my CD collection to cassettes to play in my car.
Good price, Bad FM Transmitter.......2007-03-09
Everything about the unit is OK except the transmitter. There is a high pitched whistle that ranges from annoying to barely noticeable, and exists in all 5 or 6 frequencies. Sort of like really bad tinitis. I only use it for audio books, so there is very little to drown it out.
Works 100% - affordably priced and makes a great gift!.......2007-02-25
My father drives for a living and there is no cd-player in the truck. So, this all-in-one cd player worked as an awesome present! It works like a normal cd-player, comes with a CAR-POWER PLUG, and ACCURATELY tunes into the proper station! The channel switch settings easily and with precision click from one channel to the other, with no room to "glide" between channels, like other non-digital tuning methods. He simply clicked into the channel to broadcast, and tuned in to the FM station and the CLEAR music was heard in the truck! What an awesome thing for such little money! No problems using this at all, and he uses it every day he works. The people in the van bring in cds for him to play while he drives them around, now that he has this! Thanks for making such a nice player that works just as expected!
A Total Disappointment.......2006-10-17
When I try to play the new CDs I bought at the same time, all I get is an error message. I did get one CD I already own to play but that's it. The worst part is that Amazon says this item is ineligible for return, though I can't find where it says so on this page and it certainly doesn't say so on the receipt. Coby says they'll send a new one if I pay to mail it back AND send a six dollar money order along for shipping. What a rip-off ! I think Amazon should stand behind what they sell better than this.
Works great!.......2005-08-02
This was bought as a gift for someone else because they liked my cd player so well!

Wireless FM Transmitters have a long way to go, search for another solution.......2006-05-31
I really don't know how many stars should I give to this product, 2 or 3, because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't do it very well.
Unfortunately, where I live, 3 of the 4 frequencies are been used. When I use the kinda empty one: on the morning I get some static, and/or noises from that frequency, interferences; but at night I don't. Sometimes at night I put the transmitter on the back seats of my car and I'm able to still listen very well, but just at night and like I said, sometimes.
With the other frequencies it's almost imposible to hear something. Specially with the first one that is in use, I just can hear the station. Tunning isn't the solution.
Another thing that I have to do in my car is that I have to put the transmitter on the top of the console, because the stereo is at the top. I really don't know how to explain this but the one who has a '94 Isuzu Trooper or has ride it could imagine this situation. For my consideration that may be dangerous because any thief could just get in his arm and get my mp3 and the transmitter, if I'm with my window down (like most of the time because I like it that way). Is not that I'm paranoic, the thing is that in my city people cross on the middle of the streets, and here anything could happen. So, in that place is where I get the best reception and also sometimes static and interference too...
I also tried on another car and was terrible, even closer that in my car. The static was anoying, tunning didn't even work.
I've also tried it on many places, like boomboxes, stereos, amplifiers, etc and the result was the same. The thing here is that the transmitter is closer to the stereo; get your own conclusions with this because the problem is the same one. Even if you tune it, it's the same.
I bought this product by Philips instead of Coby (CA-739) because I know the reputation that Philips has and what involves buying anything from Coby, but I have to say that I'm not happy with this. I thought that all my audio problems were gone with this system, no way! If you want to take the risk, maybe think about getting the one from Coby.
Finally I found where to place the transmitter. Now the thing is how I'm going to stand it. What I'm trying to say is that you better buy one that can be plug into the 12v, more comfortable and esthetic. You have to consider space and a safe place for your player too.
I'm thinking of just fix my cassette player and use the cassette adapter back because this is not the first time I read problems like this one.
Maybe you should consider buying one that may allow you to use any frequency and that has quite wide range.
**Electronic companies have a long way to go on this devices**
Do Not Buy.......2006-05-17
Purchased one of these locally (Seattle - King County Area)for use with sansa 512 mb mp3 player. Was completely unable to even hear my mp3 player over the radio instead what I got was KPLU (Pacific Lutheran Universities)radio station playing Reggae, Jazz or NPR clips. Do not buy if there is a radion station anywhere on 88 FM in your area because that station will be all you get.
