Best protection for the ipod ever!.......2007-11-29
This case is awesome. It lets you view and access easily every part of the ipod, including use of the wheel. It's like the cover isn't there but you can see it is. The only poroblem is it doesn't come with instructions to let you know you need to remove the inside padding for the 80 gig ipod's. At first I thought it didn't fit but by accident the inside padding got caught on the case and I figured out that, duh!, you need to remove it and it fits so tight now. I hope the other person that wanted to return their's finds this out. The belt clip acts like a prop to watch your ipod without it being flat. Over all I really love this product. The best thing is, for the first time I found an ipod accessory under $20.00. Amazing!

I would love this case-it's sleek, sturdy looking, with a nice, clear protective cover, well designed.
But it DOESN"T fit the 80 gig ipod, as is clearly stated in the product description. Now I have the hassle of making a return. Too bad.
If you have a smaller video ipod, I'd recommend the case.
iPod Video Case Offers Excellent protection & ease-of-use.......2007-04-13
Even before we gave our sons iPod Videos for Christmas, I had read reviews and was concerned about scratching the screen and back of the unit. Since I also gave them clock radios with iPod docks built in, I wanted something to protect the units but wouldn't be a hassle for docking since a unit with a typical case won't fit into a dock. There are cases in all price ranges, but I had set $20 as the limit of what I thought a good case should cost. At first I tried the clear thin plastic overlays (Belkin makes these too and I also tried a much less expensive cover I got on eBay), but they always had some bubbles or eventually were falling off. And they offer no protection if the unit is dropped. I checked out all the various iPod video designs - slip-ins, flip-top cases, leather cases, rubber protective sleeves, etc. I bought one of the sleeve protectors for about $6 at Walmart, but using it was like trying to "put 10 pounds into a 5 pound bag" tight and way too difficult to take off. Then I came upon this Belkin case and the search was over. The clear front cover completely protects both the screen and controls while maintaining access to the jacks and onnectors. You can operate the spin control with the cover on and the case pops open and/or off easily for placing the unit back into a dock or in our case the clock radio. The case will hold the 60 or 80 GB iPods and comes with an extra pad to snugly hold a 30 GB unit as well. The case is rubberized so it should protect the unit nicely in the event of a drop or fall. If you try it, you'll love it. It's definitely worth the money to protect your$250 to $350 investment.

good case, has some challenges though.......2007-08-10
I bought this based on others' very strong reviews for my 80 gb iPod (it isn't easy to find cases for the 80 gb model). Everything they said was right on, and it is very protective and easy to put on. But it has two potential challenges, depending on what your needs are. There is no way to secure it to your person - no belt clip or such, so without a secure pocket, you have to hold it in order to have it with you when listening to it (while walking the dog, running, gardening, etc.). The other concern is that I had purchased a small set of portable speakers to use on a trip, and the iPod in the case does not fit into the slot designed for it. You cannot dock it while in the case, though you certainly can connect the synch cable and the headphones that come with the iPod. I've had my iPod in it for all of its 2 months of life and it is certainly well protected. But I wonder if a case with a clip might work better for me. I encourage you to think about what your needs are first. It is well made, easy to use, well priced, and does what it says it does. Good value.
Excellent Case.......2007-03-21
I'm very happy with this case. I've purchased two, both for the same iPod. The first one was damaged when I dropped the iPod onto a concrete floor. The case was cracked but the iPod was totally unharmed. In that case I was happy to pay the $20 for a replacement.
I like that the access areas on the case are large enough to allow third-party cables to attach easily. For example, headphones with larger plugs have no problem plugging in through this case.

Because I was so concerned about keeping my new 80G iPod's screen in pristine condition, I was very careful when shopping for a case. I think I tried every single model that Best Buy carries, much to their chagrin.
(Like most stores, they really don't want you opening packages and trying out the cases, but I really recommend it. The updated 5th generation iPods appear to be a different size than their predecessors, and several of the "5G-compatible" cases didn't fit.)
I settled on the Centerstage for a couple of reasons. The biggest reason, of course, is the flipstand. The first time I watched video on my iPod, I noticed how annoying it is to hold the iPod and watch it at the same time. You can't really lay it on a flat surface, either, as you'd have to hover over it to see. The flipstand is really the perfect solution. Griffin isn't the only company to take advantage of this idea, but in my opinion, they do the best job in executing it.
The flipstand is the only part of the case that has color, making it a nice accent. It's made of brushed aluminum, so it doesn't scratch, and it holds the iPod steadily and at a perfect angle. When not in use, it folds against the front, framing the click wheel.
The body of the case is made of two plates that snap together. The front plate is clear and offers full screen protection. The click wheel is left exposed, which I like, as anything between the wheel and my fingers seems to slow things down.
The case comes with two back plates; one for the 30GB iPod, and one for 60 or 80GB iPods. When snapped together, the hold switch, the headphone jack, and the dock connector are all exposed, leaving them fully functional. The back plate is frosted, making it forgiving on scratched bodies while still showing off engraved messages.
The only problem this case might have is holding together when dropped. Although the plates snap together quite securely, I don't know how well they would stay connected after a fall. (And I'm not going to experiment for the sake of this review.) Other than that, I would strongly recommend this to any iPod user looking for a case to enhance their viewing experience.

It wasn't a perfect fit for my Nano Ipod but with a bit of trouble was able to make it work. Very difficult to put the Nano in and take it out.
