Does not charge the iPod when plugged into computer, only transfers data.......2007-07-10

This cable transfers data, but it does not charge the iPod when plugged into your computer. If you want to charge your iPod using this cable it is possible, but you'll need to shell out an additional $29.99 for the Apple iPod USB Power Adapter. USB 2.0 data transfer works and the speed is comparable to firewire, so it does perform that function, but I don't understand why it doesn't charge when they make other USB cables that do! Lame.

If you have a PC, I'd recommend getting a firewire card for your computer and using that for data transfer & charging. I was doing that, but ran out of card slots and had to swap out my firewire card for another card - hence buying this cable. But this cable was disappointing.

Actually I bought this for my iPhone, the phone came with only one cable but has a charger as well as a dock, and both requires a cable. This cable works perfectly with it, and price is way cheaper than Apple's $20 each.

After few minutes the connection to iphone stops when itunes is open. Have to re-attach cable.
Seems to be ok with itunes closed so far, but I use itunes.
Also seems ok on adapter.

Fast shipping... doesn't work.......2007-04-17

I was pleasantly surprised when this item arrived so quickly. I lost my connector when I moved and I haven't been able to update my ipod since. I was excited when it arrived. However, when I plugged it into my computer it kept giving me an error message telling me that it was corrupted. I couldn't get it to work no matter what I tried. Huge disappointment.
