Good case, but a little small........2007-01-16
The speaker gives great sound quality and the case is functional. The elastic netting holds the mp3 player securely. I have a Dell DJ20 and it ONLY just fits inside. My old case, while not having a speaker, used to also fit a set of over-the-ear headphones whereas this case is too small inside to fit these (because of the room the speaker takes up). With the speaker plugged in, I cannot zip the case all the way closed as the connector sits too high, so using it outside (e.g. at the beach) will not fully protect the player. If it was just a little bit bigger (taller) it would be perfect. My wife has a Dell PocketDJ which is the smaller 5Gb MP3 player and it is perfect for that. Maybe even some elastic around the zipper to allow it to stretch (being a hard-side case there is no give) would give it some more room. But overall, it is a great case - the sound out of the speaker is a good quality, and it is useful having the ability to play music out loud where ever you are.

have a nice sound, if you are not listen to high... I buy a pair of rechargable battery and never get off power... play for 4 or 5 hours easy...

I haven't had an opportunity to travel with this yet-- I plan on taking it on vacation w/ me so my wife and I can listen to some cool tunes off my ipod while on vacation (on the beach, in the hotel room, etc). Its very portable, you can keep a fresh pair of batteries (2 AAA) in the case, and the sound is impressive. For the price go with one of these over those lousy portable speakers sold in your average best buy.
Not enough volume........2006-05-02
This little speaker is ok when nothing else is available. The sound quality isn't too bad considering its being run on batteries but really not enough volume. It is suitable for only the slimiest MP3 players to fit in the case and be able to close it. You would be better off buying a transmitter and using a radio to listen to your MP3.
A Small Giant Gadget.......2006-04-27
I hate wearing earphones or headphones for music or other listening pleasure purposes for a long time. Especially if you're just in the office doing a bunch of paper works. This is a nifty device. Easy to use. No messy wires dangling or sprawled. The sound is sharp and crisp. Proportionate to big speakers. Of course you have to set the volume at a desired level that it will not be bothering other people. (People has different taste in music or what they listen to). I would also say that the price is reasonable.
It is a must have for people who enjoys listening to music while working in the office (of course it can be used in other places too). Especially if the office has no centralized sound system or pipe-in music. Anyway I always bring and use it at work. This device is small and handy but giant on the way on how my kind of music (your kind of music too) emanates through it. Makes me relax in doing my work thus less stress.
By the way, assuming that you are using fresh batteries, in both mp3 player and this portable speaker (JVC), it lasts for more than 4 hours of continous play. NOT BAD. The battery life in the speaker and the mp3 player are not the same. Usually, the battery in the mp3 player goes out first. But c'mon, more than 4 hours!!!

I've always heard JVC puts out good product.
It sounds great! As much as you can expect from a little, portable player.
I love it. I use it for my MP3 player when I am out running, walking with my son. It hooks right on the stroller. & if you need more room inside you can just pop out the cd sleeves.

Sound quality is good. Very low price. But... Monophonic only. CD player takes up much of interior space. No tone controls. Short hook-up cord. CD player inaccessible when closed. Not weatherproof. No carrying strap (has snap hook for belt). Relatively bulky and heavy. Lacks auto power-off for speaker. Case is somewhat rigid.

I purchased to use at the beach and was pleasantly surprised- sounds good and was loud enough to hear throughout the kitchen and living rooms. I think it will work at the ocean- with waves and wind, it will probably get drowned out but should be fine sitting next to. It looks like it it is sand-proof and water resistant. So, if you need something to protect your mp3 and stow batteries, cash... this is it! I cut the sleeves out for cd's to make more room. Runs on 2 AA's. Seller shipped very quickly and what a steal! We are quite pleased with the CD case with a built-in speaker and have had it a little over a month now. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the CD player that we are using is old and erratic, and we haven't been able to use it as much as we'd like - when the CD player works, the speaker works just great!

This case would be perfect, for me, if it had the speaker "On" switch on the outside of the case. Other than that, it's outstanding. The sound quality is good. Since it's a hard case, it protects its contents from shock and moisture very well and cleans up easily.

These speakers RULE! I do alot of traveling and spend alot of time waiting in my car. These speakers push out enough sound I can leave it on instead of my car radio/CD player, and still get the same great quality! It's great!! And, it's VERY travel friendly!
