IHome.......2007-12-26
The I Home I purchased was for my 19 year old son. I gambled on this, because I wasnt sure if this is what he wanted. When he opened it on Christmas Day, he was absolutely delighted. He loved it. It sounds great, looks great, and is exactly what he wanted for his IPOD. It arrived just three days after I ordered it. Thanks a lot.
iHome.......2007-12-25
This product works great. We tried a similar item last year and the alarm wouldn't play the ipod. This one does.
Can't go wrong with this unit- excellent........2007-12-15
I bought the IH8BR so that we could have a good sounding small radio in the bedroom with a sleep function. I have occasional insomnia, and have found that some music at night helps me get to sleep. We've been very pleasantly surprised by just how good this unit is. Some salient points:
-The bass is surprisingly strong, especially considering how small the radio is
-Function is extremely intuitive. They clearly went to great efforts to make this unit as easy to operate as an iPod itself.
-Radio reception is outstanding. We live in a very hilly area, and have no problem with reception, which is surprising. All other radios have issues here.
-Comes with a remote that is small, simple to use, and well thought-out
-Display is dimmable, well laid out, and displays the date when the alarm's going. If you're alert enough in the morning to actually look at it, you can know what date you're on
-Sound quality is flexible through the EQ funtion- very nice
-The two big control wheels on the top make changing volume, radio station, and other items very intuitive
-The alarm comes on very gradually in the morning, eliminating the jarring feeling of other alarm clocks
-You can never accidentally turn the sound down so that the volume is too low to wake you in the morning. The preset volume is just right for getting one out of bed.
We had a sony receiver and bookshelf speakers in the bedroom before this. I thought there'd be no way a small "clock radio" would ever produce sound as good. But after a couple days, we realized the stereo didn't need to be taking up space in the room any longer and it got the boot. The iHome unit produces great sound, and we don't miss the receiver set up at all. Overall, this item is well worth the price due to its well thought-out design, simplicity, rich sound, and good looks. Highly recommended.
Good buy but not completely.......2007-12-05
I really like all the features. The dual alarms and daylight savings time switch is very valuable. The FM antenna is a little weak for my area but I can get most of the larger broadcasts.
The back-light on the clock face is pretty bright and haven't figured out how to dim it at all. It is bearable but I wish it were more dim.
I was extremely disappointed when I went to hook up my ipod mini and found that it didn't fit any of the included adapters (despite the description saying that it will fit ALL dockable ipods. The instructions tell me that I have to get back on the website and buy a special adapter.
This is a good buy but don't expect to be able to hook up right out of the box. Make sure that you go ahead and buy the appropriate adapter for your ipod.
Good Product, but dont like the remote .......2007-12-03
The radio is AWESOME, the sound is great and the alarm from my ipod is very nice. The only thing i dont like is the remote u have to be right in front of the radio so that it will pick it up. So there's really no reason for the remote.

Audiophiles beware! .......2007-12-19
Looking for a relatively cheap ipod speaker dock, I chose this one since it looked fairly attractive and simple. The quality of the main dock is not bad at all. Fit and finish is on par with the more expensive docks, however, the remote is absolute garbage.
By no means is this a terrible dock physically, but the sound quality has left a lot to be desired in my opinion. The dock sounds kind of like low quality computer speakers at best. Very hollow and flat sounding with little fidelity. this was a major disappointment to me. Because of that, I usually only listen to podcasts on it. (Which is fine since I love my podcasts also.)
I would say buy it if you plan on sticking it in the garage, or other work area, but don't use it as your main external speaker source for the ipod if it's going into the living room, or somewhere other people might hear it.

Amazon.com Product Description
Ideal for bedrooms, offices, and basement rec rooms, the iLive ISPK2806 amplified iPod speaker system packs a solid array of features into an affordable package. The primary selling point of the system is its built-in iPod docking station, which not only amplifies the iPod 3G and 4G, iPod video, iPod photo, iPod mini, iPod nano, and iPod shuffle, but also charges the unit while you listen. Users will also dig the included remote control, which lets folks operate all of the aforementioned iPods (except the iPod shuffle) from a distance. It's perfect for parties or lounging on the couch, as you needn't amble up to the unit to adjust the volume or skip a track.
The system owes its smooth audio performance to its pair of stereo speakers, which are acoustically calibrated for the best possible performance. In addition, the ISPK2806 accommodates both older iPods and other audio devices--such as MP3 players, personal game systems, and personal CD players--through its auxiliary line input. Add in a video output for playing videos and slideshows on a connected TV and you have a great speaker system for the modern media landscape. Compact, Portable with limited range.......2007-12-25
In the last year, I bought several FM transmitters. iTrip is one of the most compact and portable transmitter, but with severely limited range. Since it has no power source of its own, it is small, fits nicely on ipods and easy to carry with ipod attached.
For example, I gave one as gift to my sister-in-law who is a dancer and needs to take her music for review to different places which typically don't have good reliable sound system. She carries portable speakers when she needs better quality. However frequently she uses iTrip with any available regular home radio/receiver to play short pieces for review.
If you are looking for either good sound quality or decent (read 8+ feet) range, look elsewhere. I use C Crane's FM transmitter that is bulky but has the best sound quality I have found.
Works Very Well.......2007-12-21
I first bought a Kensington Liquid FM, which retailed at $100. It sounded horrible - static at it's best, even on a fully clear frequency. If you didn't position it properly, you didn't get anything. It was supposed to scan for empty stations, but half the time it came up with frequencies with a full blown station on it. It had RDS, which barely worked at all. And finally, you can only use it in the car.
I then bought this iTrip, and what a complete difference. When I turned it on the first time, I got powerful, clear music, no matter what position it was put in. It's very small and can be used inside the house to transmit to your radio.
Great transmitter.......2007-12-14
Just bought this product... works great in my stereo, also works great in my car... Excelent Buy...
Pretty darn good.......2007-12-10
I am fairly impressed with the iTrip...especially since i had heard a lot of bad things about the early generation. But a friend of mine had just purchased one and loved it so I thought i would give it a shot. I liked the idea of it being chordless. The invasion of static is rare, however when the iTrip gets cold it plays with quite a lot of static until it warms up to about room temp. It took me a while to figure that out. Not sure why that is the case but i just stick it infront of my heating vent in the car for a few seconds and it goes away. Otherwise I am very happy with it!
Horrible product.......2007-12-07
This is not a critique of FM transmitters but rather of this specific product. I purchased this earlier this summer when I realized that I would have to do a lot of driving and wanted to listen to my iPod. First, I found several stations with no interference on either side of the dial. Attaching the iTrip was a little bit of a hassle. It never really fit properly. The product only worked when I set it within a few inches of my car stereo and didn't move it. In my Jeep, however, there are a few bumps and every so often I would get hit with really loud static because the volume was up so high to hear the music. In order to resolve the problem, I had to remove and reinsert the iTrip and occasionally reset the FM preset or find a new one, and then gingerly place it back next to the car stereo. As well, while you're driving, it's almost impossible to make changes to the device. Obviously, if you are going on a longer drive and hit a place where the FM signal you were on gets used, you have to change to a new station and doing so while attempting to be safe is pretty futile.
Mind you, I understand (and you should too) that audio from a FM transmitter is never going to be great but I currently use the audio input from my TomTom over an FM signal and it's just fine. I certainly would have returned it but that was way too much work for the cost involved. This was an absolutely awful purchase and had I known, I would have invested in something more effective even if it were more expensive.

Light and sleek, Great Sound for the Price!.......2007-12-21
I recently bought this unit as a gift for under $70. I took it for a test drive just to make sure it worked and I must say that I was very impressed - was even thinking about keeping it for myself!
Anyhoo, as far as appearance goes it's very sleek/sophisticated looking, not like some of the goofy ipod-systems I've seen out there. It's also fairly compact and lightweight so if u DO need to carry it around, you won't have to pack/insulate it in the original packaging box (my friend has to do this with his Bose system b/c of its shape).
As others have observed, the sound quality is fairly rich and full at low to medium volumes (great for a bedroom). However, as you increase the volume higher and higher, the bass gets a little distorted and it starts to sound a bit hollow (not great for a living room). But given the price I paid, I still think I made off like a bandit!!
Simple yet spectacular.......2007-12-21
These speakers are absolutely amazing. The bass response it offers is far better than I had expected and the clarity is incredible. The wireless remote has a very good range. The simple design adds to its beauty because you can keep the speakers anywhere and they will just blend in. I haven't tried operating them on battery power so I cannot comment on that. Only one thing I would have preferred which is not offered in any speakers (even the ones that cost over $300) is the ability to chose whether or not to charge the ipod because using it this way and charging it all the time could reduce the life of the battery in my opinion but that is just something no company has seemed to include in their speakers and not something specific to these speakers. I would highly recommend these speakers as there is no competition for them at a price of just $60.
Pros: Decently priced, respectable bass response, crisp clear.
Cons: No option to select whether ipod should be charged or not
Great for the price.......2007-12-16
This little unit is not, of course, going to compete with Bose or any of the other high end units out there. However, this has pretty good sound for an under $100 station. It sounded better than just about any of the other models I plugged my ipod into at a couple stores. I didn't bother with the $200 or more units, because that was more than I was willing to pay. I have a smaller house and this does more than a good job filling it with decent sound. If that's what you want, I'd say go ahead and get one. If you like to crank it till the paint peels...of course, this isn't the unit for you.
the best audio!!!.......2007-12-11
if i may rate a ten stars i do it!!!
Moderately Priced, Good Sound, Great Product!,
·the sound its very good
·the speaker its charger battery ipod

Great Product.......2007-12-05
This was perfect for what I needed. It was simple to set up and the sound is good enough for me. I love the fact that it charges my ipod too. I did get startled when it began playing in the middle of the night without anyone touching it. I have no idea why it did this.

Works perfectly from the start to now and into the future.......2007-12-09
Hello,
I have currently owned this product for about a year now since I got it from the store so I wouldn't go to sleep with a pair of headphones on.
Set up took about 5 min, and was easy. I read the directions for about another 5 minutes and got the gist of it. The bass is reasonable and sound quality sounds better the more you increase the volume. It is compatible with all kinds of ipods so far. The volume can go very high, so I rarely put it up there. It charges everything as long as you plug it in, so I don't have to connect it to the computer.
It seems very durable, and is small enough to carry it around comfortably. It has a pretty good design of a doughnut.
I was surprised at its smallness at first, but quickly got used to it.
Follow the directions, and you should be fine.
Highly recommended.
Note: Only for home use or a place with an outlet.
At first yes, but then not so much.......2007-12-02
I have had this speaker system for about a year and it worked very well at first. Then when I tried to put a different kind of iPod in it, it skrewed up and ended up freezing the iPod. The sound wouldn't work and if it did, it would have a clicking noise in the background. I put my old one in there and it skrewed that one up also. I ended up having to get a new iPod. If you are looking for a one iPod speaker for not very long, then it is alright, but not many people are.
Small, pretty and great sound.......2007-11-29
I wanted something to be able to play my IPOD while I work in the kitchen, without a mess of speakers and wires. This is compact with tremendous sound, no set-up involved at all... just plug it in, insert IPOD, enjoy.
Great product!
Good Sound, Good Price.......2007-11-05
This speaker/docking arrangement is great. I have 3 of them placed around my home. The sound is good, the volume goes loud enough for daily use. I have used mine daily for about 13 months without any problem of any kind. If you already have a main stereo system I would suggest the Kensington dock that will play your iPod right through you system. Otherwise get this JBL. I also use my JBL when I go a friend's home who doesn't have an iPod.
Great Sound and Wonderfully Compact.......2007-10-26
I bought the JBL On Stage II speaker just yesterday and tried it out last night. I am highly impressed with the sound quality. It is a small speaker that gives off comparable quality to that of a Bose speaker. Of course it isn't a Bose but JBL made a fantastic speaker at more than half the price. This speaker is a Harmon product (an audio specialty company) so it's good quality and delivers an impressive sound. I'd buy it all over again!

iLUV i552BLK.......2007-12-18
The product itself is really good the only downside to it is that it doesn't operate on 240v.
Good for the office.......2007-11-03
Although the material seems like it would break easily the performance is ok for a desktop if power is not an issue. It does everything it claims except AM reception is poor. Operation of the unit is not all that good but it is simple and the included remote is almost useless. The adapters for the ipod did not fit mine properly and there is no tech support for this. It does play the Ipod and charge it and the FM signal seems adequate. If you need a quality product then dig into your wallet and buy something else but for the money I thought I got what I paid for.
Looks cool, plays great.......2007-10-26
I purchased for my husband and so far he loves it. He was especially excited to hook it up to the TV and watch his Ipod videos that way. Sounds great, and it's portable since it takes batteries. Oh, and he loves the little remote too.
Birthday present for a 15 yr old.......2007-09-15
I am very pleased with the iLuv i552BLK Portable Audio System for iPod I ordered from Amazon.
It just works all around. Good quality for a good price. The handle makes it truely portable, unlike any other portables Ive found. pocket sized remote, easy...plug in the ipod and go.
Perfect gift.
Sound quality .......2007-08-10
Not too fond of this, but I guess you get what you pay for. The power button doesn't seem to work, only works on the remote and the sound quality is pretty distracting.

Good, but has a few flaws........2007-07-19
The iPod Dock is good, but has a few flaws. For example, I noticed that sometimes the iPod may not make contact with it, so you have to make sure it's pushed in all the way, but even then, sometimes you have to unplug it and try again. Also, you can't put an iPod on there if it has a skin and/or cover on it; you'd have to take it/them off in order to do so. Otherwise, it keeps the iPod standing up and charges it at the same time, so that's an upside.
Just as advertised!.......2007-06-21
It is what the advertisement says. It's a solid stand that has a rubber pad to keep it from moving around. The ipod nano fits perfect as long as you don't have a cover on your ipod nano. The price is higher than I expect for an ipod nano stand, but you need to pay a premium since Apple makes the stand. You can get a cheaper one from another company, but it won't be made by Apple and may not have the same fit with your ipod nano.
Almost perfect.......2007-05-23
My friend gave me a 2nd generation iPod Nano. She was the Apple fanatic and I the Windows worshipper. Yet, I thought now would be a good opportunity to actually experience the iPod mania that tremendously boosted Apple's reputation. I had no idea that the dock would have to be bought seperately and I thought it came with the iPod Nano. But I've heard that the Nano has to be very well taken care of to last more than its one year life expectancy. A dock certainly is a goodidea as it not only keeps you iPod safe but it also recharges it. Like all Apple's out-of-the-box experience, the dock is neatly packed and comes with a warranty and a manual. That's it. All cords needed will be the ones that came with the Nano: the USB cord and the recharge-wire (Also, the Nano cannot be interacted while it's on the dock unless you eject it from the machine. This is because it would be syncing music or photos and would interfere with the process). Apple has also been considerate and put in a line at the back (beside the recharge port). You can choose to plug in your headphones or your speaker set (the ones with the similar outlet), but be warned. I had a deafening experience last night as I inserted my headphone cord into this line. Volume is on high and it cannot be changed (I tried the volume setting on the iPod. iTunes, and the overall volume on my laptop)! So I had to listen to my music blaring out of plugged-in headphones which I set on my desk. I could hear the music, almost fine. I recommend the speakers that are inserted into this line have a volume knob on them, because the music coming out will really be ridiculously loud. This was the only problem I really experienced with the dock. But it really adds a nice touch-up to the desk, especially if you own an Apple computer or laptop like the MacBook!
Great Sync, Awful soound.......2007-05-12
I bought this dock, mostly to plug the ipod into my speakers, but the sound quality is awful, besides you can't control the volume from the ipod.
Small & convenient.......2007-03-19
This Apple iPod Dock is very small & convenient, and is especially great for traveling. It DOES NOT come with a plug-in outlet charger, so you'll need to purchase that separately if you wish to charge your iPod without connecting it to your computer. I purchased one for a couple of bucks, and it (along with the dock) works great.

A few months ago I needed to replace my broken shuffle dock. After trying the IncipioBud (which I didn't care for) I tried the PowerBug. So far, I adore it and have absolutely no complaints. However, considering the poor product description, it was more a lucky break than an informed decision.
As shown in the picture above, the PowerBug comes in two pieces: the little white charger unit (the "bug") and a usb cable that connects from the "bug" to the shuffle. This means your shuffle can be plugged into the wall and charged anywhere, anytime; it also means the usb cable can be removed from the "bug" and plugged into the computer, allowing your shuffle to be charged and synced in the standard manner.
So, no -- this isn't a stand-your-shuffle-up-on-it dock, but it will do the same job, as well as allowing it to be charged in a standard wall plug. Better yet -- at least for me -- the "bug" also seems to be compatible with the usb cable for my older video ipod, allowing me a lot of charging options both at home and while traveling.
Be warned - there's no guarantee they won't change the design or that plugging your own non-shuffle usb device into the "bug" won't cause it to blow up. However, until they provide an decent official product description, I can only hope this will be helpful.
Review for Powerbug for ipod shuffle........2007-09-08
The product is very easy to use when you don't want to use your computer to recharge your shuffle.
Charges - Which is what it was meant to do.......2007-08-07
This item is a compact way to charge your shuffle on the go! It more than double the price at BB, and at other stores, so this is a great price. It fits in the palm of your hand.
The reviewer below did not read, or did not understand, the product description, and certainly did not know what this product costs elsewhere.
Easy.......2007-07-12
This works great. Now I can charge my shuffle anywhere. It's easy to use.
Not a Dock.......2007-05-25
This unit cannot be used as a dock to sync with Itunes. Highly disappointing for the price. There is one that includes the AC piece AND a new dock...and it is cheaper. might as well buy that one just in case your dock ever breaks (which is unfortunately common). yet another product by apple meant to rip people off with little descprition of what you actually get.

Works as advertized But..........2007-10-20
This product does exactly what it says it does. However I wish it worked differently than designed.
Having set up the iPod doc with the Pioneer AV receiver, and my Logitec Harmony 890 remote the iPod adapter is very easy to use. Plug the iPod into the doc, push the "listen to iPod" button on the Harmony, and you're off and running. The contents of the iPod display on the TV screen where you can select album, artist, genre, etc as you can on the iPod. Well almost.
On the iPod (when it is out of the dock) you can use the click wheel to rapidly scan through songs or albums. When using the adapter the click wheel is disabled and you must use the TV. The interface lacks that rapid search capability and you must slow scroll through genre or album until you finally get to what you want to play. I wish the design allowed the click wheel to operate while in the dock. That way you could plug the iPod in, rapidly select what you want to listen to, and walk away.
The other problem is the TV has to be turned on to select music. If you want to save energy and money you must turn off the TV after you make your selection, then turn it back on to switch albums later. My TV draws about 250 watts so it isn't wise to leave it on for hours while listening to music. This just isn't the best setup.
So my advice to the designers of either this dock or the Pioneer is don't disable the iPod click wheel on your next design. I have a second iPod dock which isn't so well integrated into the Pioneer but I'm thinking that is a good thing. The other iPod doc simply would output audio to the amplifier and all other controls would be on the iPod itself. I may end up using the other doc which has it's own Apple remote, perhaps less convenient in some ways but more convenient in other ways.
Great dock. Pioneer will send you missing cable........2007-08-03
I just bought the brand new Pioneer Elite receiver VSX91TXH and this dock. There was a notice in the receiver box that the iPod cable was missing and that you should call with your model and serial number and they would ship you one in mid September.
A must for Home Theatre and Music Lovers.......2007-07-28
This product is a must for any Home Theatre user who also uses a Ipod. My Pioneer Elite Receiver came with the cable to connect it directly into the receiver. If your receiver does not include the cable you must purchase it separately. I plugged in the device, spent about 5 minutes with the Receiver manual and had the Ipod playing music and pictures on my Plasma display. Your Ipod menu is displayed directly on the TV when selecting music. Pictures require you to select play directly on the Ipod sitting in the Dock. If you have problems getting the menu to display on your TV just unplug the Ipod or Dock from the cable and reset.
This thing is great since you can use or create playlist to run while entertaining.
A/V CABLE NOT INCLUDED.......2006-12-12
The shipment was extremely fast, but the Audio/Video cable was not included as is stated in the product description... There is not even a place for the cable in the small box this product comes in. Electronics Expo was good though, they are paying for the shipment back to them and refunding my money. I would rather have had the dock and cable though, as I've seen it work and it's a great docking station paired with the Elite reciever..
