Pretty good little phone........2007-12-29
We bought these phones with two more handsets for use in our business. The range and clarity are great, as well as the intuitive controls. I guess the only beef I have with it is that when you are on line 1 and line 2 rings, the sound cuts out with the ring tone. This is especially anoying when speaking with a customer. Even with this drawback, I would buy this phone again!
Great phones!.......2007-12-25
We really like these phones. The work well, battery life is great. And there are lots of good features!
awesome phone system.......2007-12-22
I am really picky about my phones. I had not seen this system in person only on the internet. Not only am I pleased, I am thrilled. This phone gives you all you really need. It is so convenient. You can pick up a message from any hand set by just hitting a few buttons. No more running to the answer machine. The voice and hearing quality is excellent. Speakerphone is great as well. It does everything I need it to. I have it in a 2500 Sq ft. home and no sound quality issues anywhere. That really does depend on your homes wiring and other wireless equipment. i have cable and wireless internet and it does not have any affect on the system. I highly reccomend this phone, If I'm happy you'll be happy, just ask my wife!!!!!
a little disappointed, just an average phone and answering system.......2007-12-07
The sound quality is just OK during conversation. Answering system outgoing message is actually quite poor sound quality. I have had several other phone systems with much better sound quality. It really lacks features for such an expensive phone/answering system. It does NOT have a paging feature, so you have no way of knowing if a message is left, except to keep calling home to see. There is no feature to allow each line to ring only certain handsets, so the business line rings in your bedroom, like it or not. Then there are the feature buttons that are recessed. They are hard to push, they are soft rubber and you have to push the button just right to activate the line choice or feature you're trying to activate, and it's difficult. The phones have a light that is lite all the time, yet if you choose to have the blinking lite alert you of a message, that uses battery power... doesn't having the light on all the time use up battery power? The handsets are long and skinny, hard to hold and you can't rest it on your shoulder. I wish I knew more about the phone before I purchased it. Not having the paging feature is really a handicap for me. How can I let people know I'm going to call them back within a couple hours if I have to keep calling home to see if anyone has even called, which I'm sure I'm going to remember to do all the time, since I have so much time and cell minutes to waste for nothing most of the time. I just think it's a lot of money for a very basic phone system. The only really decent feature is that you can add handsets, and oh yea, it's 5.8ghz so it's less likely to interfere with my home wireless network.
Declutter your desk.......2007-12-04
Our Panasonic KX-TG6702B dual line cordless phone system works flawless. We had a Panasonic single line cordless system before and knew what to expect. The dual line system eliminates the other phone from your desk and helps to declutter office. In our micro enterprise we got four handsets for receptionist, accounts, art director, workshop. We use one line for outgoing calls to keep the other line open for incoming calls. The intercom is a great feature to communicate between offices as well as to forward calls. Best of all you don't need to run ugly phone lines all over the place. Phone lines are plugged into central unit only while the daughter handsets only need a regular power wall outlet to recharge batteries. The phone's design is smaller and looks more professional than our old system.
Reach is in most cases fully satisfactory as long as you don't work/live in a bunker of concrete and steel.
We have not used the built-in answering machine due to voice mail from our provider.

Good Phone.......2007-10-27
We are using 5 of these cordless handsets all over the house, in conjunction with the base unit (KX-TGA4500B), with no interference problem. Another great feature about the handsets is that they don't have to be wired; just plugged in! Also, the recommended headset (KX-TCA86) works well with the both the base and handset) and is very inexpensive.
As Advertised.......2007-09-14
So far this system is working well for us. Wish there are more options such as more flexible extension numbers, etc.
Excellent follow on model.......2007-03-29
We used a previous version of this system for years. This much improved system handles even the tiny wishes we had from the old system. Music on hold, speaker phones, great range, etc. I actually bought multiple systems and tried them in my offices. I returned them all except the Panasonic.
panasonic cordless phone.......2007-03-10
Big disappointment. Unlike previous Panasonic phones that have always been 'slightly ahead of their time' this phone is difficult to use and there are too many steps involved to make or take a simple phone call. It's designed as badly as MS software. One of the annoying features is you have to hold the button down for almost 3 seconds to take a call on hold - it's a mess. Stay away.
Cell phone ease and portability for a land phone.......2007-01-18
Sound is great. Ease of use is wonderful. The guys in our shop have not complained once and we have had the phones for over a month!

Customer Reviews:
Stay away from this one.......2007-12-06
We have been using the Panasonic 4 -line wireless phone system to run our home businesses for over 5 years. The original KX-TG4000 -- 2.4 ghz system worked really well. The problem however was that our wireless router created an audible interference, static in the cordless units.
So we "Upgraded" to the new Panasonic KX-TG4500 - 5.8 Ghz system. The new frequency works well with NO interference no static with our wireless router. The audio signal is quiet and static free on the cordless units.
The answering machine on this upgraded unit is terrible. It cuts off voice mail messages of callers. Typically it cuts off the last second or two of the phone message while they are leaving a phone number. After two replacement machines, a dozen support calls, and numerous attempts at resetting the VOX SENSITIVITY, and the AUTO DISCONNECT settings (settings which are totally hidden and buried if it wasn't for support telling me where these settings were, I would not even know about them.) I am giving up, resigning myself to living with a piece of S#%* phone machine that cuts off messages. I will buy a new one, a different brand as soon as I can find one.
I would NOT recommend for anyone to buy this phone system. For the $1000 we have invested in the system for our home office, I am certain there is a better product out there. But it is not the Panasonic KX-TG4500 nor the cordless units KX-TGA450. Stay away from this one.
Panasonic KX-TG4500B 5.8 GHz 4-Line Expandable Cordless.......2007-11-02
Loved the phone, has excellent reception so I did not agree with some of the other reviews that was posted who mentioned that the phone had poor reception.
The only negative thing I had to say about the phone is that you can not program your own ext. number. So if I wanted my ext. number to be 11, I can not do that.
Overall, very good phone system!.......2007-10-27
We needed a multi-line phone, and once you get past 2 lines, the choices are very limited. This phone has many good features, but could use some improvements. First, when listening to voicemail, it would be helpful to know which line the call came in from. Second, while you can record your own 'on hold' music, the sound quality is very poor, rendering that feature pretty much useless. Third (and maybe a bit picky), while 7 different ringer styles are offered, they're not very good. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, the ability of the person you're talking to being able to hear you clearly, is sometimes an issue. However, it is still a good phone overall, and we are able to use the separate cordless handsets (KX-TGA 450B), all over the house with no interference problem. Another great feature about the handsets is that they don't have to be wired; just plugged in! Also, the recommended headset (KX-TCA86) works well with the both the base and handset) and is very inexpensive.
piece of junk.......2007-10-26
I work from home and need a good 3-line phone for the house. After using the previous generation 4000 for about five years and experiencing the (apparently typical) problems with #1 and general quality, I decided to spring for the new version.
I was excited about new features like mute (surprisingly absent from the 4000) and speaker phone on the handsets, and figured the newer version would fix some of the general quality issues I had with the 4000.
All I can say is that this phone is a piece of junk. It is cheap, poorly constructed, and doesn't feel at all like a commercial-grade or even high-quality consumer product. Speaker phone is horrible, range is poor, call quality is bad from the base unit or handsets. Almost every conversation I have, at some point the other party asks me to speak up, or couldn't hear me or whatever.
I'm returning this phone immediately and trying the RCA product, which has gotten some bad reviews also. If that doesn't work, I don't know where to turn.
What I can't hear you........2007-08-09
Spent all this money on this phone and the volume is very low when you are on it. I purchased two additional handsets and two headsets for my business. When you are speaking on the phone, customers complain that you are talking to low and that they cannot hear you.
I like all the features on the phone but hate the reception and the fact that I have to talk loudly for someone to hear me. Would not buy another one. I called Panasonic and they basically told me that I would have to pay to get another phone. Wow. Amazon may have lost a customer to a local retailer.

Voice quality, distance is poor.......2007-12-21
Have had this phone and four cordless extensions for well over a year. Am about to replace the whole system due to the poor voice quality. My Panasonic cordless in same home works almost flawlessly.
Perfect!.......2007-05-29
Since I have seen some bad reviews on this phone I thought I would clear some things up. I just got this phone a few days ago with an additional cordless unit. The phone is simply amazing and more than I expected. Call clarity is perfect for both the corded and cordless handsets. I am using it with a cable phone service btw. The display is informative and easy to read. You can view the phonebook on the cordless handsets after programming them on the base unit. You can name the base or cordless handsets if you like so you know where everything belongs. For example, you can name a handset "Living Room" or "Bedroom" so if you have more than one, you know where to return them too. Range is also better than I expected. My daughter took one cordless down to the end of our block and it was crystal clear. I would certainly purchase this again or recommend it to friends.
Good phone and value........2007-05-07
It has what is says and it does it too. Warranty guaranteed by Motorola. Fair price. Voice clarity in doubt.
If you have a VOip phone , deactivate the voicemail in you phone service, because if you don't, your phone display will show incoming voicemails but when you listen to them, the phone-base display will keep on showing them as if they were new and never listened to them; and you will have to return the phone for warranty to Motorola.
Can't mute the outgoing message or call screening on the base unit!!.......2007-05-06
I bought this phone as on impulse at RadioShak relying on Motorola's reputation. I guess I should have used my cellphone to check the Amazon reviews before buying it! I was very surprised to find that you cannot mute the outgoing message or call screening on the base unit. So surprised that I checked with Motorola and they confirmed this. Basically it's badly designed which is extraordinary given the experience Motorola has - for goodness sake, it's their business. Anyway, fortunately this is a low use line and I am only using one of the two line inputs in an area where people will not be disturbed by the uncontrolable call screening. The only good thing is that the phone combines corded with cordless and so will still be useable if there is a power cut.
Excellent phone.......2007-04-10
Love this phone. Convience of a wireless and the ease of use of a corded phone. Excellent display. Great choice of ringers.

Amazon.com Product Description
A well-designed system for home offices or talkative family members, the Motorola MD7081 is built to handle two separate phone lines. Expandable to a total of eight handsets, the system includes a 30-minute digital answering system with two mailboxes. The base system is the only part that requires a phone jack, allowing you to add extra handsets wherever you like. Each handset can operate as part of an in-house intercom system, access conference calls and even function as a baby monitor; each also includes a headset jack and belt clip for hands-free operation.
The answering system is accessible from each handset, as well as the base, and allows memo recording and messages to be forwarded to cell or office numbers. With subscription to local service, each handset is call waiting/caller ID compatible, storing up to 50 names and numbers of the most recent callers. Numbers can be stored, deleted or moved into the permanent phonebook with just a few clicks. Twenty-four selectable ringtones are available, and the base is wall mountable.
With the addition of four AAA batteries (not included), the system will continue to function during power outages. Motorola includes a one-year warranty covering parts and service.

Customer Reviews:
Do not buy this if you are looking to expand..........2007-11-10
I am very happy with this phone, it works well and I get great reception. But I ran into a big problem when I tried to expand my system. I went online to find another handset/charger. The cheapest I found was a factory refurbished unit for $130, new units run anywhere from $250 to $300. Yet I can buy a base unit and 2 handset/charger (Model #7091) for $125. Don't know if Motorola stopped making the handsets separately or not, but I am really confused by the pricing to the point where I am thinking of just getting a whole new system.
Pleasantly surprised at quality.......2007-10-09
I purchased this phone to replace an AT&T 2-line phone that was fried in a recent lightning strike (in spite of 2 upstream lightning protectors) and have to say that the low price was a prime reason. But I have been very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this phone - it's much better than my former phone (which was four times the cost) in both phone quality, convenience (speakerphone on handset, caller ID on handset) and price. It was so good my wife insisted on replacing her working 2-line phone with this one, which I did. I have not delved into all the fancy features - but the basic phone operation seems very good.
unreadable keys, short range, no mute incoming call.......2007-09-22
I liked many features of this phone but decided to return it because of the following shortcomings:
1. When you are talking on Line 1 and a call comes on Line 2, you can't silence the phone. that makes it impossible to continue the call on Line 1 unless you leave the room.
2. The speaker phone and redial keys are so small as to be invisible. I aksed my friend to look at the phone and turn on the speaker phone. After searching and staring for several minutes she gave up.
3. The range is significantly less than my old Uniden 2.4 Ghz. I used them side by side. I lost the call on the Motorola while I still had a strong signal on the Uniden.
Motorola 5.8GHz Digital 2-line Phone.......2007-09-06
This was actually our second Motorola phone we purchased. We used it it expand our home phone system and we couldn't be more pleased. Unlike other competitors' systems, the Motorola MD7081 is a user-friendly 2-line system that has decent battery life, is attractive to boot, and provides ample volume and quality audio sound. It's feature set is just what we need. It's a must buy digital phone.
If only speakerphon could be louder.......2007-08-28
This is an expensive great phone with caller id, answering system and of course 2 line cordless with speakerphone at base and handset. So all in all would have been a great phone but for the voice volume. Even at the highest volume, you wish you could make it louder at the handset speakerphone. I use the speakerphone a lot and so those who primarily would be using the phone handheld- go ahead and buy it.

OK fax copier, phone. acceptable for the SHO.......2007-08-22
if you need to send faxes it is ok, the memory seems to get overloaded if you send more than 5-6 pages. the print quality on the recieve side i have found to be on the poor side and the auto fax answer switch mode does not work with my VOIP service. the copying is ok.
the phone is good, but, again, does not interact well with VOIP service and cannot indicate when i have voicemail waiting due to the interanl answering machine.
it comes with a rather limited print ribbon/film, so i would suggest getting an extra one if you decide on buying one of these units, and use it to recieve faxes.
just about acceptable for small home office use.
2-line Panasonic Fax.......2007-06-10
This machine is a nice size and shape. I am fairly technically apt, but I found the manual to be extremely complex. Since I am mainly using this machine to send faxes, I have not even bothered to figure out all the complex phone features yet, but have confidence that I will be able to when I need them. The thing that surprises me is the fax capacity. I thought this machine would handle at least 3-4 clean, wrinkle-free pages at a time, but it does not. I have to sit and feed the pages in one at a time or it takes 2 or 3 together or jams. I honestly thought it would do a better job. I guess it just isn't your big business fax at the office. I am satisfied, but certainly not thrilled.
Panasonic KX-FG6550 Phone/Fax machine.......2007-04-03
This is the second Panasonic phone /fax machine I've owned. I was satified with its performance and durability. The replacement unit is smaller (that's a good thing) and it looks good too. The remote hand receiver is easy to use and the sound is clear. The instruction manual on the other hand is complex and you have to carefully read it to set up the phone. Over all I'm happy with the product.
love it.......2007-03-09
I love it !!! The fax comes through FAST and clear, for a digital answering system the voices come through VERY clear. Perfect small business machine for the money !

AT&T .......2007-10-31
I purchased this product for home office use. I found the cordless phone to be very clear when talking. Very easy to set up. Plug and play. Does not have voicemail light for services provide by your LEC>
Substandard warranty arrangement.......2007-10-22
I generally like the phone. However, one problem has been that about 5% of the time when I try to use the handset, either starting on the speaker-phone or picking up the handset initially, the other party can not hear me, even though I can hear them. Even if I switch to speaker-phone, the other party is still unable to hear me.
AT&T agrees the phone is defective and can be replaced under warranty. However, they require the phone and all original components be shipped to them in Texas, and then (sometime later) they will send a working phone back. Why they think that a business is able to go several weeks (or more) without a phone is a mystery to me. I called back to ask specifically if they could charge the replacement to my credit card and send it to me before I send my existing one back (most electronics manufactures seem to do this). The rep informed me that they don't have any such capability and cannot send any replacement phones out until the phone being replaced has physically been returned. Fortunately, I am still able to return the phone, but it will be for a refund, not for warranty. And its replacement will not have AT&T on it.
User unfriendly.......2007-07-30
Sound quality is good & the portable unit works great but the base unit is so user unfriendly it is not worth owning. I'm going to end up putting the base in the basement, so I can still use the cordless unit, and putting my old two-line at&t back in my office.
Well designed, a few problems.......2007-06-30
I've probably purchased about 10 2-line phones over the years. The category is always pretty severely hampered in terms of features and usability, and I'm guessing that's because it's in between home use and office use. Nonetheless, two lines can't be that uncommon can it?
Anyway, let me start with the good.
* This is the first 2-line answering machine phone that I could set up completely without a manual. The base station has lots of dedicated buttons that are big, and obvious.
* The corded base combined with a cordless handset is a great idea. It means I don't have to hunt down the handset to use it.
* Decent sound and tone quality when talking to folks, although some describe the sound as a bit "hollow". However, I found that older folks who are hard of hearing can hear my voice very well with this phone.
* There is an option for the answering machine to "chirp" when it has a saved message. Very handy when you walk in the door, you know you have a message without looking at the machine.
* You can charge a 2nd battery in the base unit, this doubles as a battery backup if power goes out. Unfortunately, the 2nd battery is not included.
* A mute button for speaker phone. How many phones don't have this?
* The wireless handsets can be speaker phones as well.
* Overall, the thing feels "natural" to use.
Now the not-so-good:
* The Answering machine works well enough, but sound quality is really marginal. I haven't tried the outgoing message, since I prefer the anonymous outgoing message. But the saved messages have fairly poor quality, like the sampling rate is way too low.
* Entries in the phone book cannot be selected once the phone is off the hook. That means you have to select an entry from the phone book, hit either line1 or line2 speakerphone and then pick up the handset. It's not horrible, just awkward.
* Why will no machine maker include a "save as new" option for messages? This should be a no-brainer, since it's value is immense. Maybe it's too costly to implement.
* Phone book entries put in the base are not pushed out to the handsets and vice-versa. The manual tries to turn this into feature, but it's not.
* speaking of which, why will nobody offer an ability to transfer phone book entries to/from a PC? Or do people like entering phone numbers and names repeatedly?
Overall, you realize you pay huge premium for that 2nd line, and there are tradeoffs, but this appears to be a decent choice given the alternatives. Phones are sort of personal in terms of what you do and don't like, so pay attention to the negative reviews as much as the positive.
Don't buy this phone!.......2007-06-27
Don't buy this phone. It's the worst piece of garbage that I have bought on line. It has the worst sound, cord and cordless, that I have ever heard on a phone. The cordless has no range, it is constantly losing a signal. It seems to sound ok on the other end of a call.

Good phone system.......2007-11-14
I have been using the KX-TG5771 phone for four months now and find it very satisfactory. The range of the handset is great, extending from the front porch to the rear patio with good quality throughout (the base is in a second floor office). Sound quality is fine, and the headset accessory is very comfortable and clear - great for conference calls.
Panasonic losing their edge.......2007-04-20
I purchased the phone to replace the Panasonic that I had for about 4 years. The older phone was rich in functionality and performed outstandingly well.
NOT this phone. Many of the features are either missing or buried under two or three layers of menus. It does not even have a find handset option on it's front which is key to today's portable home phones.
Outraged at uselessness.......2007-02-15
I don't usually write reviews.
The phone doesn't automatically work when I plug it in. Dials OK. But doesn't respond to a ring.
I returned it to Amazon. Second unit (replacement, received today) is just like the first.
This is really outrageous. (Other phones plugged into same jack ring fine. Unit is powered up. Battery is charged. Base unit ring volume set high. Same for handheld unit. Phone does not respond to incoming calls in any way -- no flashing light, no answering machine pickup, no ring. Phone makes outgoing calls fine. When I dial the phone's number from the phone itself, phone network indicates busy.)
I am now waiting for a response from Panasonic technical support.
Bad reception.......2007-01-27
After only three months the reception on this phone is almost completely shot. Lots of static makes callers virtually inaudible.
Disappointing sound quality.......2006-11-28
Being generally a fan of panasonic phones, this one was a disappointment in several ways. (I imagine that the Panasonic KX-TG5576M would get the same review since it offers a color handset but the same 'guts', and the phones of one unit are compatible with the other.)
First and foremost, the volume on the handset just isn't loud enough. At max volume the voice on the other end sounded far away (according to the caller, I sounded fine though).
Second, the talking Caller ID doesn't come in until the second ring, and even then it says the name instead of the number, which means that cell calls come in as "cordless"... not much help. If you don't like the feature, however, you can disable it.
Third, I didn't really like the ergonomics. The unit felt slippery and the buttons weren't easy for me to press with my thumb. This kind of thing is subjective, of course.
I compared this unit side by side with the Uniden TRU9485. According to the person on the other end, the Uniden handset and especially its speakerphone sounded better than the Panasonic's handset and speakerphone. On my side, the Uniden is way better than the panasonic when it comes to handset volume. The Uniden doesn't measure up to the quality of a corded line, but the volume makes the talker much more legible than with the Panasonic.
So, my recommendation (surprisingly, since I have liked Panasonic and disliked Uniden in the past) is to skip the Panasonic and go with the Uniden. You'll save some money doing that, too, so the Uniden is a win-win.

Faulty Telephone.......2007-09-04
After having the phone company come to check out our phone lines we were told we had a bad phone. Line one does not work. Please tell us what process to use to return this phone for a new one.
Thanks,

Save up some dough and try & find something 2-3x more expensive..........2007-08-16
...because trying to skimp and get a $60 phone is NOT the way to go. I learned the hard way. Bought this for my Dad, and we had it wrapped in the returns box less than a week later. I should have known - right from the start, as it arrived in an Amazon-returns box. Great. The darn thing couldn't go 10 feet away without horrible static; you can't take someone off or put them on speak phone without a horrible shriek; the thing heats up pretty bad; and it forgets to tell time accurately. This all occurred in about 4 days. Best of luck if you decide to purchase...My Dad needs a 2-line phone, so I suppose he'll have to pay about 2-3x. Hopefully it will be worth it...
interrupted phone calls.......2007-01-19
This phone does not let you know when a phone line is in use from outside its system. The only way to know if a line is in use is to pick up the line and listen for traffic. This may have the effect of killing the other call.
Can't recommend this phone........2006-12-13
The time of day on the phone does not keep accurate time...way off! Also, I hear frequent clicking sounds during conversations. My previous cordless phone, a Vtech 920ADL 2 LINE 900 MHz cordless, performed much better.
