I've had this for couple of years now and probably the best phone overall that I've owned. It has wealth of features, easy to configure and operate. Small size makes it pocketable, battery lasts forever, the range is good, and sound is good with no noticeable noise. I have had no conflicts with wireless networks.
Survived dishwasher!!!.......2007-11-27
It took months for me to figure out where to position the base so that the handsets wouldn't conflict with my wireless internet. Once I figured that out, this phone system has worked great.
I especially like the intercom feature. Now I can call my kids from any room of the house.
But most astonishing is that we actually had a handset survive a dishwasher cycle. I opened my dishwasher last week to empty the clean dishes, and found a handset on the top rack, dripping... I just knew it was toast, although when I pushed the buttons it seemed to try to work.
I quickly took the battery out and placed it and the phone (open battery compartment) into the dehydrator for 24 hours. It worked as it always had! Amazing.
I'll bet my cell phone couldn't do that.

I just bought my 2nd set, so the house has six phones now :)
I bought my first set about two years ago with no problems.
The only drawback on these phones, there is no Mute button.
But, the phone does have mute...you just have to hit the menu button, then select mute on the menu, so you get mute with two key strokes.
I still recomend this phone system.

Doesn't last.......2007-12-20
We have had this system for 2 years now. Its going in the trash. Everyone of the chargers (3 and main unit )have quit. We have replaced the batteries but to no avail they won't work. The new batteries worked for about 3 months and now we again get the "Check Battery" message. To be fair, we are beginning to wonder about a lightning issue but nothing else has been affected.
On another note from day one the reception in my studio in the back yard has not been great. I have to step out on to the back porch to get good reception. The prior phone was better.
We won't be buying ATT again.

Well our requirements were just a wireless set with good speakerphone and thats exactly what we got. The battery works fine and speakerphone is loud and clear. Not much to expect with the answering machine but it does solve the purpose as good as it should.
I am fully satisfied with this purchase.

Battery low indicator does not work........2007-08-19
I would have rated this a 4 until I realized that all three handsets have a flaw. None of the battery level indicators work. That is, they let you know when it's full after first charge but do not lower as the battery power goes down. Also, there is no indication at all prior to the phone going dead during a call. This is a problem on all three of my handsets so it's an issue with all of them or at least a batch. This is very disappointing to me. I'm debating on sending these back but that's such a hassle.. The only way to see the battery level is to unplug the battery and plug it back in. It will then give you and accurate battery level at that instant in time. If you buy these, plan on keeping the handsets on the base to make sure you are always at a good charge before making or taking a call.

I liked this phone alot.The only thing about it that I dislike is that you cannot program in a name so it comes up on caller id when it says cell phone or something like that.You can have a bunch of calls that have a number and says incoming call but you can not program a name to that number so it says the name instead.Other than that it has good sound you can store alot of numbers in the previous calls 100 I think and the price is right.....

Excellent choice, I recomend this product. For home or small office. I have this product at home and the children use to play with them and they has chewn the antena, they throw it and they are still working since I bought them. The only thing is they should came along with a carrying case to protect them from scratches.

Very Over-rated Phone.......2007-05-15
I bought this phone for my Mother who is 86 and very hard of hearing... this is probably the worst phone we have ever tried for her... she could not hear my voice ...and she sounded like she was about a million miles way..the sound quality is absolutely terrible. I returned this phone immediately. Believe it or not... she went to the local CVS store and bought one of their phones for about 30 bucks...and it sounds much better than this Clarity one did. I will not consider Clarity products any time soon..very over rated and way too expensive

I purchased the phone for an elderly woman who is hard of hearing. She can hear very well with it. However, it is always a challenge for her to program anything. This phone is no different. There is a volume boost button that is very useful. It has to be turned on each time the phone is used. It would be nice to turn the volume on button "on" permanantly. It's just one less thing to do when you answer the phone. These issues are minor. I would purchase the phone again.

For everyone who has this phone and was having trouble with adding the area code - I found the solution. When your looking at your caller id and it's a long distance number you can hit the # button to add the area code (if it isn't there already) and you can add the "1" before the area code and number by hitting *(tone) *woohoo* no more editing and redoing all the numbers before you add them to caller id!

Very Disapointed!.......2007-03-19
We got this phone a couple of months ago and are still not able to use it at all. Originally, we could not hear anything from this phone at all. Now only faint voice can be heard, but the only end still has no sound at all.
I spend hours reading the manual, but still can not make it work for us. Maybe it is a malfunctioning one. I would definitly NOT buy any Uniden products in the future.
Does not stand the test of time.......2007-03-02
When we first received these phones they were pretty good - the range is short but we could deal with that. After a few weeks the sound quality started to really decline (echos, breaking up, and static.). After 8 months the caller ID does not function on one handset and the sound quality on the other handset is so bad as to make it unusable.
The small size at first was cute but after awhile is very annoying and uncomfortable. I just ordered a panasonic set and can't wait to trash this set. I have been a loyal fan of uniden for many years but this product has shaken my confidence in there recent quality or lack there of.

Our last phone did not have that feature on the base and if the phone rang and we could not locate the handsets we could not answer the phone. Now we can! Answering Machine phone system.......2007-11-24
I just got it. Only took a few minutes to have the time and date entered and also the outgoing message on the answering machine. Nice clean look. Also easy to set how many rings you want before answering and the volume you want it to play your announcment and messages at. When setting the year it is now, however, I went by it by a year and had to go to 2039 before it started over to get it back to 2007. Still easy to do though. I had my old one 10 years and still had problems setting the time and date on it. I haven't tried any of the other features as I most likely won't use them.

The sound quality is fine, I like being able to use the caller ID and adjust the volume, BUT... the remote unit is staticky (admittedly, I have not tried harder to resolve this issue), and when I cradle the handset between my cheek and shoulder, I often bump the "transfer" button, which I think transfers a call from one handset to the other, but ends up causing the call to be lost. I have retrained myself not to cradle the phone, but it's a minor annoyance.
On the plus side, it's an overall good value for the buck, has all the features you could want, the answering system works fine (although we have since gotten voice mail so we stopped using the answering system), and its look is sleek. If you are not a phone cradler so you can devote both of your hands to another activity, this phone could be the answer to your search. If you are a habitual cradler, however, you may want to look elsewhere.

i few years back i wanted to buy a good quality cordless phone. I went to the store and purchased a motorola for over 100 dollars. You dont always get what you pay for because that phone was a peice of crap. it never held the time correctly and i had to buy replacement baterries twice within only 3 years. Then the number pad wore out and the phone was not even usuable.
Today I received my uniden phone. it was about 1/4 the price of my previous motorola. the phone is very nice looking, comfortable, and very easy to setup. Probably the best instruction manual i have ever read for an electronic, and it is in english only. Thanks Uniden

The best feature of this answering machine? It doesn't record junk phone calls. Otherwise, it is your run-of-the-mill answering machine. It answers calls and records messages. That is exactly what we wanted it to do and it does it.

We've used two high-end Panasonic phones over the last few years and they have been fantastic from a feature-set and quality viewpoint, but their reliability has been suspect. This Uniden phone is cheap, but is a great budget phone that we wholeheartedly recommend. It works well with a VOIP set-up.

I have had NO problems with this unit whatsoever! The phone works great, with no static or other audio problems. People's voices come through loud and clear, with excellent audio quality, on both the phone itself and the answering machine/base unit. Range is excellent as well, and I have NO issues using the phone everywhere inside our 3 level house, and outside on the patio and in the driveway. Perhaps Uniden has made the latest version of this model to perform better than the older ones, given the one bad review below. Or maybe the reviewer was recieving external interference from other electronics in his house. In any case, this is a feature-rich, quality unit for an unheard of low price brand new! Buy this one with confidence.

I have read previous reviews before buying. I think this product is great. I have had no problems, I can walk a block away and still have great reception. The sound quality is good but not the greatest. That is rating it with a corded phone. I would recommend this phone.

The phone works well if you are 20 feet away from the base, after that, people cant hear you speak. My advice is get a battery for the base so that if you loose power you do not need to set the clock. This has to be the hardest task, setting the clock! Absolutely amazing how complicated they made it. Oh, and I call it my little airport because it flashes all sorts of lights! Drove me crazy, till I set a few things like the clock. It works well for its intended use.

Bought this rather than another expansion unit ($60 vs. $129) for the basement. Didn't really need the answering machine, but it doesn't hurt anything. The speakerphone works well. Would recommend if you already have the MD6xx system and want to get another handset before you can't find them anymore.
Short battery life/complicated to operated.......2007-07-16
I`ve had this phone for about 2 years now and again on the market for a new phone. And it`s not going to be Motorola.... We bought this phone because it looked rigged and solid, plus I liked the idea of rubbon buttons but then I realized that because of this, the paint is coming off too fast. About 8-10 month after having this phone we noticed battery life shortened significantly. My phone bill is $18-20/month (most of them taxes and fees) because we don`t use phone that much but still we had to recharge battery literally everyday. I had couple times battery die during calls. Very hard to operate: my wife still didn`t learn how to page handset. The other annoying thing is when you listening to messages you can`t delete the message at the end of it because it goes straight to playing next message. You eather have to do it during the playback or just delete entire mailbox. I tried couple of times to delete message at the end but ended up deleting next messages. This phone does not deserve 1 star! I wish I could give 0. I should have read the reviews that others have written here before I bought this.
I can not hear the other person talking even if I press the handset right into my ear. The volume goes up and down and there is some static noise. Changed all channels on the phone. Piece of junk. Don't buy this. Don't waste your money.
I am returning it back now. What a hassle.
DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.......2007-04-18
I bought this phone 6 months ago and I wish I had kept the recept so I could return it. First off, you can not keep it on the charger or the battery will only allow you to talk for 20-30 minutes before dying. When it dies it will give you a couple of beeps notice then it shuts off. If you do not hang up before it shuts off then your phone line is unusable. You actually have to unplug the phone from the phone line just to recieve or call on other phones. I have never heard of this happening before and my friends and family are tired of talking to me only to hang up on them without warning because my phone is beeping and I know I only have a few seconds to hang up or risk losing my phone line for hours. I would have given this phone zero stars if I could have. I would recommend spending a few extra dollars and go with another expandable system. Don't make the same mistake I made.

I like these phones.
The reception is good.
The only drawback is that if you pick up one phone, the other one cannot connect to the base, but that may be typical to the phones which share one base.
Other than that, the phones are great and the sound is good.
Worst phones ever.......2007-01-09
These are terrible phones. They crackle and have a large amount of background noise. The Caller ID menu does not display well either. Maybe they interfere with our wireless network. There is no clear channel on them. They are pretty much unusable. I didn't pay much for them but it was all wasted.
