Design
The RAZR V3's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, anodized aluminum construction. The first thing you'll notice when you flip open the handset is its impressive, 176 x 220 color display with 262,000 colors. Meanwhile, the outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color screen that can display pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The VGA camera lens is housed above the supplementary display. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control while a voice button on the right side of the unit allows you to enter voice memos and create voice dialing profiles. Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy. The RAZR V3's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts, while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. It also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. A number of ringtones come preloaded on the phone, and there's even an included application, MotoMixer, that lets you mix your own ringtones. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert, while a built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Not happy after the purchase.......2007-12-27
I purchased this silver razr from DATA VISION and I had the following issues:
1. The battery gets discharged every day without even using it. I contacted them and they promised me a new battery. I have not received the battery yet even after 20 days inspite of repeated followups.
2. After removing the transperant plastic sticker covering which was stuck alll over the phone, the gum has still not gone inspite of using it since 25 days. I still see gum marks all over the phone.
3. CHINA MOBILE is printed over the phone. Maybe this phone was intented for China mobile users (like we have T-mobile over here) but diverted to US market? I dont think this should be an issue but just thought of mentioning this.
Having said all thisl I still believe, its not Amazon's nor Motorola's fault. Its just the seller.

I received my unlocked razr v3 here in Baghdad and right out of the box it was great. I am not pleased at all with the hands free. The volume from the ear piece is not the quality I have come to expect from original accessories. The sound of the mic according to my wife is distant. Again not the quality of an original in my opinion. I have browsed the inside of the phone. I am a long time motorolla user so it was very familiar. I have a plantronics bluetooth in the US and when I get home I will try it with the phone.

I like the looks of the case and it actually fits well. The problem is the stitching is coming undone even before I put it on my phone. The cost of sending it back isn't worth it, the hazards of buying online I guess.
Very poor quality control, but that's what we seem to get from goods made on the "cheap" from China.

In the past, I have purchased the Body Glove Cases for other flip phones. However, this one for the Razr is not good. It is a struggle to even get it on the phone and the openings for the charger, earpiece etc do not line up properly. My husband did complain about the clip and indicated that it released a few times when he sat down. Although I have been a fan of their cell phone cases in the past, I am disappointed in this one. We have replaced it with the Motorola brand leather case.

Product seems to be OK. As for probelms others have had, well chalk it up to internet buying. The clip is stiff and not easily accessible, but is does work. After having the piece for a while now, the lining is coming off on the "straps" across the top. I can deal with it since it was not very expensive, but it makes me think this is actually a knock-off or clone to a body glove. Probably 90% of these products are such since they are cheaper than the shipping. Amazon should be a little more choosy about the vendors they use.

The case is very durable and it has a hole for you to slide the connection for the phone charger, wired headset, etc. I feel that it has done a fine job at protecting the razr phone from scratches and drops and I would definitely purchase this item again. It comes with a swivel clip that is sturdy and does a great job of clipping to a belt.

I've had this phone for around 2 weeks now, and I love it.
Calls are very clear (except when connected to someone using Nextel's service, which seems to be almost everyone in my town), and are never dropped, except when engulfed by trees.
The speaker quality is excellent. I have a 2Gb MicroSD card with music on it, and it sounds wonderful.
As for battery life, I got the extended battery, and I haven't had a chance to really keep track of battery life. But it's very good.

I've had this phone for just over a year now, and it's been great! I'm waiting for UPS to deliver my next phone, RIZR Z3...
RAZR v3m has served me well, and has even proven to be fairly sturdy even after a couple of drops in a parking lot, which I thought for sure was going to kill the phone after hearing about how fragile it is. Good thing I had insurance, but I haven't needed it. It has kept me from having to call Verizon support, which I was doing fairly regularly with my old phone Moto E815. I give RAZR v3m big kudos for that!
As a phone, it's been superb! Good to decent coverage, good sound, no drops, no resets, etc. Best cell phone I ever had!
Text messaging is as good as it can get with cell phone number pads. I also own an iPAQ, even had one with a tiny keyboard, and they are not any better so I chuckle all these cell phones with tiny little keyboards. Pair a Bluetooth keyboard with my iPAQ, now you're talkin!
As an mp3 player, it will work in a pinch. All you iPod/iPhone nozis (replace o with an a, you know who you are!), please stick to your apple products and just leave the rest of us alone. I've own an iPod just long enough to know how much I hate iTunes, and now I own a Creative Zen which I like a lot, and no, RAZR v3m isn't as good as the Zen as an MP3 player, but so what? If I'm expecting to listen to music for a while, I grab my Zen and use my RAZR as a backup.
As a camera, again, it will work in a pinch.
I don't browse the web with this phone. I'm waiting for that day when someone comes out with a usable/affordable PocketPC based tablet ala Star Trek. Don't even talk to me about UMPC's yet... We'll see how well my iPAQ does with RIZR as Bluetooth modem.
My rating is 4 only due to
1) copying files to and from the the MicroSD is cumbersome
2) Motorola Phone Tools
3) RAZR uses some proprietary mini usb voltage so I can't charge the phone using one my many other mini usb chargers
4) Verizon crippled some of the Bluetooth feature of this phone - Not the RAZR's fault.
But if these don't bother you, then consider this as a 5 rating.

The V3m is a great phone that Verizon has crippled. The camera can take 1 megapixel images that get locked into your phone unless you subscribe to the optional text and image plan. As others have noted, if you wish to download images directly from the micro sd card, you have to remove the battery to take out the card. You can't download images from the phone with a usb cable.
After many hours of trying, I was able to download music using a Windows XP machine with Media Player 10, which I never use for music. I prefer iTunes, but it will not work with this phone. The Verizon interface makes it awkward to use the music features and you will need USB headphones for additional money (again).
While my older Motorola phone was able to use Verizon's national access to connect my computer to the internet (14.4k with no additional charge except minutes used, slow but useful), the V3m has disabled this feature and requires you to subscribe to a data plan for... more money (again).
In theory, voice dialing will allow you to use a voice command to call any number in the directory. It hasn't been perfected. If you say, "call Mary", the phone is just as likely to call Harry.
Although Verizon boasts about their network, this phone has been unable to connect in transportation hubs like New York's Grand Central Terminal and Phoenix's Sky Harbor Airport. Battery life is weak and the ring tones are lame but you can always get new ones from Verizon for... more money (again).
It is clear that Verizon has engineered this phone to squeeze every extra dollar out of you that they can. You have an option. You can just say no to the V3m and get an iPhone.
Wow, Finally a phone that lives up to the hype.......2007-11-27
I have had this phone for a little over a year and have to say I think it's still the best phone currently offered by Verizon. It's rugged enough to deal with life's daily hazards and also light enough to carry in your pocket.
The reception and voice clarity are second to none with voices coming in crystal clear just about everywhere. If you have the Razr with Verizon do what I did and go to the store to get it flashed to update it's UI. It operates much better with a better sounding music player and the whole phone operates much quicker. It also allows more customization like changing screen brightness and the wallpaper on the outside screen.
I don't know what people are saying about poor battery life because I can get about three hours fifty minutes talk time on a single charge. With normal use I get about two to three days use before a recharge is needed.
Sure, the Razr has been out for a while but it's still one of the best phones out there. I don't hesitate to recommend the Razr V3M and with the new update it makes the phone all that much better.
Poor speaker volume.......2007-11-21
I received this phone from Verizon 1 week ago. On every call i make, the volume fluctuates randomly -- often so low that I cannot hear th person I am talking to. I searched the web and found may people complaining of the same problem. So, i called motorola and spoke to Romina (ID-351753) who walked me through the standard script, "so you know how to adjust the volume..." I assured her that this was not my first rodeo. She said she was not aware of the problem (sic). Verizon's support was also unaware and had no solution -- except to return the phone. Motorola and Verizon's websites were also no help.

Fragile, Easily Damaged: Screen, Earpiece, Hinges
In the original commercial for the Razor, it is shown being dropped from a distance and landing on the narrow end; like an ice pick in ice. I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DON'T USE YOUR RAZOR IN THIS MANNER. Form and Functionality do not meet with this phone. I am a big rugged personal trainer who needs durability and dependability with all of my equipment. Simply put the Razor can't roll with the punches. I have given up on this phone after the four replacements has been sent to me from AT&T/Cingular. Ladies if you keep your phone in your purse then this is the right phone for you. Gentlemen if you drop your phone more than 8 times a year don't bother. The cover of the phone may be metal but the hinges are made of molded plastic; A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. If it drops on one of those hinges the phone is as good as garbage since the sharp plastic will cut right through the thin fiber optic band that connects the screen to the keypad. That will leave you with about a week's worth of use before the fiber optic band is severed leaving you with a phone that rings with no screen. The earpiece is small and covered in mesh. It's the perfect place for fluids to get trapped so you can't clean or dry it out. There is nothing cute or functional about sending your phone in for repairs every 6 months to 12 months or spending hundreds of dollars for replacements and repairs.

I've had to buy to RAZR phones this year and the same thing happened to both of them! THe side piece comes out and a cable inside snaps and the phone stops working. It costs about $95 to get this piece fixed. And Motoroa refuses to take responsibilty because they always blame it on you dropping it however my second one was only 3 months old and I didn't drop it but they still won't fix it.
so DO NOT BUY this flimsy phone from a company that doesn't take responsibility

Who thought it would be a good idea to prevent people from turning off the hideously annoying start-up and shut-down sounds? Why should I have to download a program and hack into my own phone to turn this totally useless feature off. Shame on Motorola. Shame on AT&T.
Lots of good features - cannot handle moisture.......2007-07-17
This was a great phone for me for about 6 months. It's small, light, can handle being dropped now and then, and has easy keys to see and use. I took it for a short bike ride (maybe 30 mintutes). Since I didn't have pockets, I put it against my skin under elastic. I perspired lightly, but it was enough to kill the phone. It partially revived with several keys not working. ...hope that helps any potential buyers. Keep it very dry!

Pros:
1. Haven't had any problems with dropped calls (cingular)
2. Great camera, zoom and lighting features.
3. Easy to use interface
4. Great looking screen and display
5. Loud and clear
Cons:
1. Battery life. I've known a few people with this phone and they have had the same problems. The battery will last a few days as long as you don't talk on it, but for me, I use this phone as my main communication device, and texts, camera, and general usage will suck the battery life right up. My advice is to charge it every night, it should make it through the day provided you aren't using it all the time.

I like everything about this headset except the fit. The optional hook (included) is necessary just to keep it on my head, barely. Even with it it still has fallen off already. If my ear was bigger (opening) then it would probably go in and stay without the hook. For comparison, the included headphones that come with Apple iPods don't fit me right either.

I returned the product since it did not fit my needs or expectations. It was too bulky & had a poor, bulging fit. The separate cover provided did not close securely. Since I did not charge/use the product I can't say anything about battery life etc.

This is actually much better than what would be expected for the pricing. The earloop is actually somewhat bendable to reshape part of it, but not the entire loop...just the lower half. And the earpiece part is smaller, and the actual ear portion fits inside your ear. It also has very good clarity in the connection (no crackling), and the talk time is very good (I think about 6 hours). Of course, in a car, it is still noisy to the person on the other end (which will always be the case for bluetooth headsets that are not upper end, military grade). I personally just needed it to be a little more feasible to carry around in my pocket, and for the earloop to be more conforming or shaped to my ear.

This is my first blue tooth headset. Head set looks great!! Small yet stylish, great sound quality. But the biggest problem is, it doesnt fit in your ear and the so called ear hook stays way above your ear. The multifunctional button lies on the top of the head set and I press the this button every time i try to adjust the position of the headset during a call and the call ends. This is so embarassing and also my ears hurt if I try to push the ear plug into my ear. Please dont buy it.
