Frequency-hopping spread spectrum FHSS technology .......2007-11-28
I do not actually own this phone yet, but after seeing all of the negative comments about it using 2.4GHz (Amazon needs to update the product description since it does operate at 2.4GHz not 5.8GHz), let me note that this phone uses Frequency-hopping spread spectrum FHSS technology. I have had a Panasonic phone for years now that uses this technology and I can assure that it does not interfere with Wi-Fi. Essentially it transmits using segments of the 2.4GHz frequency band, but switches frequencies so quickly and so often (milliseconds) that your Wi-Fi router will never notice it. Let me also add that my Panasonic phone has continued to work flawlessly for years now.
Good with some significant limitations.......2007-11-15
I've had this phone for over a year ... since it first came out on the market. I got it after my Uniden bluetooth cordless phone bit the dust in just a few months after buying it. The panasonic is certainly better quality than the bluetooth but has some significant limitations which may or may not be an issue for others.
The biggest problem for me is that you can only activate a bluetooth headset from the console. You cannot activate it from the hand unit. That means that if you answer from the handset and want to switch to a bluetooth headset that you have to transfer the call to the base unit and then hit the stop button which will connect it to the bluetooth (not sure if the instructions say that the stop button transfers to the bluetooth ... I just stumbled across it). For me, this is a significant deficiency and poor design element. Also, once you transfer a call to the bluetooth or answer using the bluetooth, there seems to be an exceptionally long delay before the call is transferred which can confuse callers as well as be an annoyance. Another annoyance is that, while I have CallerID waiting, the unit doesn't show callers names when I'm on another line for some reason.
All that said, the bluetooth works well when it is activated from the console. You can answer a call using the bluetooth when the unit rings without any problem. Connectivity to the bluetooth is overall very good with a good range and there's seldom a problem with it dropping the call or loosing connectivity. The handset works well also and has good range as does the speaker phone and other base/handset features.
I've owned several panasonic and they have consistently been the longest lasting, best quality phones. This one doesn't appear to be any different ... I just wish the bluetooth capabilities were designed a bit better. Of course, there's not many cordless phones like this which offer bluetooth ... and the primary competitor, Uniden's, is not in the same league.
This one is going back.......2007-10-05
I've had the Panasonic KX-TG2000B for years with eight handsets through out the house and was looking to upgrade. Received this Kx-TH112S base unit, installed it with minimal set-up, that was good. The signal quality however was horrible. So we get the handsets from Amazon's vendor, eek Technology, I install one of the eight units and try it for a few days. Base unit is in the kitchen, my gym is in the garage, neither handset has a decent signal, all crackly, people I am talking to complain about not hearing me. Then I go to do the return only to read the fine print from eek that says they don't take back opened units! Based on this alone I would not suggest buying anything from eek! Glad I only opened one. We'll see if they take them all back. I'll be even more irritated if I have to pay for a phone I am not happy with plus the $63 dollar freight bill to me and then the freight back!
Good unit.......2007-10-01
I purchased the Panaonic KX-TH112S believing the Amazon statement that it is 5.8 GHz Frequency. It plainly is not. However, it does not seem to interfere with my wifi and I decided to keep it. It has met my expectations other than that. It would be nice if you could change the name on incoming calls when saving a number. It also is hard sometimes to answer a bluetooth cell call, but overall it is an acceptable product.
Wonderful Idea and it Works!.......2007-07-29
I was leary of this system as there aren't many like it on the market. Secondly, I could not find any Blackberry listed on Panasonic's website of compatible phones.
I'm in the medical field and on-call many of my evenings and weekends. I don't like my office answering service calling my home number and prefer they use the mobile phone. Our house has two floors and I'm forever being called while on a different floor than the mobile phone and I hate having to carrying around a mobile phone while at the house.
So with that in mind, I thought I'd give this phone (KX-TH112S) a try. I LOVE IT! It synced immediately to my Blackberry 8700 (AT&T) and within ten minutes, I got my first call from the wireless service through my cordless phone. The reception is clear and if anything, better than on my Blackberry. I selected a unique ring tone to determine when a call is from the mobile phone. This Bluetooth feature has made my life much easier.

sweet little package.......2008-01-01
Especially for the price - My mother was getting booted off her internet because her old cordless ran on the same frequency as her wireless router - living on a couple of acres and doing a lot of gardening, she gets reception across half the property - a great buy.
Working.......2007-11-05
I browsed through the User-Manual. With that I charged the unit, hooked it up and it worked as expected. I am satisfied, very satisfied. Panasonic a GOOD product ... refurbished unit but very good performance for the $.
Excellent Phone.......2007-05-12
The features of this phone are very easy to use, and the operating instructions are well written and easy to follow. The incoming voices are clear, as well as the answering machine messages. The display and number buttons are easy to read -- ring tone options are fun -- also can choose colors to identify callers by the ringer indicator light -- a neat feature.
Excellent phone system .......2007-05-10
This was a replacement for a Vtech system I had to send back because of horrible reception and I can't say enough good things about this phone.
Hand sets feel sturdy but not heavy, keypad is back lit and has many more nice user features such as speaker phone and custom rings. Reception is crystal clear with very good range.
great!.......2007-03-09
I am very happy with this phone! People can hear me well, it has lots of good features, my favorite being the incoming call memory puts the "1" in on long distance so I can call right back. My AT&T I had to write down the number to call back. The stored phone book is also much simpler to use so I actually use it.

Customer Reviews:
Very nice compact unit. .......2007-08-31
Im happy with the purchase. The replacement film could be a little less expensive. Very easy to use and set up. I would recomend for a home fax that you dont use a whole lot. Answering machine works great. Very loud ring too.
Extremely disappointing.......2007-07-24
I wanted to replace my very old but still perfectly good Panasonic thermal fax + corded handset with a plain paper cordless model no larger than my old one. This model is actually smaller than my old one, however:
* The quality of the faxes is mediocre at best.
* The quality of the copies is truly terrible - the lines are uniformly fuzzy on every setting.
If I were happy with the fax and copy quality I might be able to live with:
* The angle of the display makes it impossible to read it if you are sitting in a chair and the unit is sitting flat on a desk. You either have to stand up or, as I did, shim the back so the front is at an angle and the display is facing you instead of the ceiling.
* I have small hands, but the handset feels too small, compared to my Panasonic land-line cordless, and uncomfortable to use, even compared to my not-particularly-tiny cell phone.
* The ink film is NOT available anywhere in my state and must be ordered and shipped, adding not only time but 65% to the cost of the product. Nor have I been able to find a compatible generic, locally or online.
On the plus side, the answering machine works as expected.
This machine might be OK for someone who doesn't use it as a phone, rarely sends or receives faxes, and doesn't care about copy quality.
Quality and small.......2007-06-11
I found this fax/copier a good buy. The only thing is in my country (I don't know why) the caller id is not working.
Just what we wanted.......2007-05-18
We were looking for an inexpensive, compact fax with cordless phone, but which also identified the incoming calls so we could screen out solicitors. This did all that, and the price was right, and installation easy. Both the fax unit and the cordless phone have the caller ID feature, which was a plus. The only disappointment was that Staples does not carry a generic version of the replacement film, and the Panasonic replacement film is pricy. So just don't let your kids copy their term papers on it!

Very Good phone.......2007-11-21
Very good phone have been using it for months now without any problems. The speaker phone is great and has very good sound quality.
Would recommend this and buy it the second time..
As usual Amazon did a great job in delivering the product promptly.
Good price/good quality and sound.......2007-10-01
We bought this phone because we needed more phones in rooms that didn't have phone jacks. Ours were refurbished, but they have worked great for the last two months. Make sure you read the other reviews to understand exactly what you are getting, but as far as sound quality, size and ease-of-use, it gets a 5 star rating.
Great Phone!.......2007-09-10
I have had this phone for several months now, it is a great phone. It is easy to use and so nice to be able to put a phone wherever you want without the need of a phone jack.
Never another Panasonic phone, ever!.......2007-08-30
We bought the three handset system and the speakers started failing after about eight months and now the microphones are starting to fail.
It would have been nice if the handset buttons lit up but I'd be happy if I could buy a cordless phone that lasts more than a few days past the warrantee period.
Very happy with the phones.......2007-08-11
I purchased this phone late last year and absolutely love it. I was a little wary about the sound quality after seeing few reviews. As of yet, there has been no complaints about the sound quality. In addition, transferring phone numbers to different phones are very easy. I especially love the intercom system. I can use this to page my husband when we are not in the same room, and I don't feel like walking downstairs to ask him a question.

Initial problems= satisfied customer.......2007-12-18
I was very upset when I opened my order and it was the wrong phone and it didn't even work, but when I called the customer service line, my fears were put to rest. I spoke with Shragy, who made everything good again. He sent me a new phone and gave me a percentage off my bill and seemed legitimately concerned. He apologized for the mistake in shipping and took care of it in a prompt manner. Thanks Shragy!
Panasonic cordless answering system.......2007-12-12
Have been using this system for several months. After set up, had problems with one of the handsets holding a charge. I contacted Panasonic via email. They immediately responded with possible solutions which worked! Love the system. Set up was easy. This is my second Panasonic system. The first had a tape system which I used for 15 years with no problems. I had two non-Panasonic sytems in between which were not reliable.
Deal for Features.......2007-12-09
I purchased this phone 4 months ago, and haven't had any complaints or problems with it. It is excellent on range and voice clarity, loaded with features, and moderate on battery usage. The small footprint fits anywhere, and the expandable handset and charger come in handy for locations not wired with phone jacks. I think it's a deal, and lets be real; all the negative comments posted here are from incompetent users and people who demand too much out of today's electronics. You'll like this phone!
Panasonic Heaven.......2007-09-15
Nice phones. New as promised and great price. Best around. I really enjoy the long range of the dual handsets. Great Digital/Clear sound.
Works great.......2007-09-04
Purchased this phone because of: previous experiences with Panasonic, 5.8 GHz range that will work any where in my yard, and because it will display how meny messages are on the answering machine. Have had it for over a year now with no problems. Works so well, that I also purchased a set for my parents to replace their older set.

OK fax copier, phone. acceptable for the SHO.......2007-08-22
if you need to send faxes it is ok, the memory seems to get overloaded if you send more than 5-6 pages. the print quality on the recieve side i have found to be on the poor side and the auto fax answer switch mode does not work with my VOIP service. the copying is ok.
the phone is good, but, again, does not interact well with VOIP service and cannot indicate when i have voicemail waiting due to the interanl answering machine.
it comes with a rather limited print ribbon/film, so i would suggest getting an extra one if you decide on buying one of these units, and use it to recieve faxes.
just about acceptable for small home office use.
2-line Panasonic Fax.......2007-06-10
This machine is a nice size and shape. I am fairly technically apt, but I found the manual to be extremely complex. Since I am mainly using this machine to send faxes, I have not even bothered to figure out all the complex phone features yet, but have confidence that I will be able to when I need them. The thing that surprises me is the fax capacity. I thought this machine would handle at least 3-4 clean, wrinkle-free pages at a time, but it does not. I have to sit and feed the pages in one at a time or it takes 2 or 3 together or jams. I honestly thought it would do a better job. I guess it just isn't your big business fax at the office. I am satisfied, but certainly not thrilled.
Panasonic KX-FG6550 Phone/Fax machine.......2007-04-03
This is the second Panasonic phone /fax machine I've owned. I was satified with its performance and durability. The replacement unit is smaller (that's a good thing) and it looks good too. The remote hand receiver is easy to use and the sound is clear. The instruction manual on the other hand is complex and you have to carefully read it to set up the phone. Over all I'm happy with the product.
love it.......2007-03-09
I love it !!! The fax comes through FAST and clear, for a digital answering system the voices come through VERY clear. Perfect small business machine for the money !

Customer Reviews:
review of panasonic cordless KX-TG5672B.......2007-09-23
I must be truthful. I was disappointed with this phone. It was small and the voice anouncement that I bought it for was very hard to understand. It would only anounce the name and not the number. I had an AT&T that anounced the number. I liked this feature much better. The voice was female on the panasonic and did a poor job with pronounciation. The male voice with the AT&T was much clearer and much easier to understand. I wish now I had spent my money on a new AT&T.
Happy with Purchase!.......2007-09-03
Before making this purchase I read many reviews for many different phones. This phone had the greatest number of reviews with only a very few dissatisfied customers (4 of 69). I carefully read the negative comments. If you understand that there is no phone that will make everyone happy, this one comes out far ahead of the game.
The best features are the talking caller ID, easy to use and understand answering system, advanced cell phone type features such as specific ringtones for different callers, clarity of sound and easy set up.
The size of the talk and off buttons was mentioned by a few reviewers. This phone is light and compact. The size of the buttons is also compact but not uncomfortably so. I use reading glasses and I have no problem either seeing or using any of the buttons without my glasses.
Most importantly, I feel the phone is a good value for the money.
Great phone esp for telecommuters!.......2007-09-03
My husband bought this phone for me b/c I work from home from time to time. The old phone we had was frustrating to use, and it was time for an upgrade.
I find these particular features essential:
-speakerphone
-mute
-hold
-call waiting
-intercom
-answering machine
There are lots of other features like memo and conference that I don't use regularly, but are good to have.
Love the quality and the various features. Definitely worth the $. Makes for working from home more pleasant.
Great phone.......2007-07-14
This phone has some nice features - the light flashes on the phone when it rings, you can pick up messages from any phone, choose your ring, etc.. I miss the "page" feature that was on my last phone - now if it is off the cradle we have to search for the phone rather than page it. The computer tries to read the name on the incoming call, which is often hard to understand, but still a fun feature.
Excellent.......2007-06-27
I like the new features, especially the voice caller id and speaker phomes on handset.

Could use a little more volume, but durable!.......2007-07-07
There are a couple of new features on this phone (since the last 2.4 ghz I had from panasonic). Love that this replaced two phones - I could take the high cost and divide it by two phone replacements! With 5.8 ghz, I no longer get disconnected with my wireless router and the features ok (though I never really have a use for the voice enhancer). I do get the occasional "huh?" from people - the volume seems a little low, which knocks it down a star, but it is still rated well - it stands up to three kids!
Excellent Phone!.......2007-06-10
I bought this phone nearly two years ago and have had no problems. I don't use all the bells and whistles that are available, however, so I can't vouch for their effectiveness; but I do use the answering machine and it has worked well. The range of this phone is good too. I can take it outside and walk around and there is no loss of signal strength. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a cordless phone.
A very fine cordless phone.......2007-03-10
I used a Uniden cordless for many years but the 2.4 ghz interferance with my in-home Linksys Wireless finally got to the point where I could no longer live with it and had to switch to a 5.8 ghz. I bought Panasonic for no other reason than I had one 20 years ago which fell off the roof of my car while driving along and, after it was taped up, continued to operate flawlessly for many years. This phone has a ton of features, most of which I'll never use, but the one I like the best is that the speakerphone is built into the handset(s) rather than the base unit and switching back and forth is totally seamless with little danger of self-disconnecting. The Answering Machine works fine but is unlike many other machines in the respect that, when you are on "call screening", you do not hear your greeting before the calling party speaks.
This is the phone for you.......2007-01-10
This phone is great! The sound quality is awesome. You can even program the phone to flash different colors for different callers (This lets you know who is calling from across the room). I highly recommend this phone.
Poor sound quality.......2007-01-07
I bought this phone from Amazon one year ago. Great features and good range. I can walk a block away and still use it. However, everyone complains they can't hear me. There is no way to turn up the volume of the microphone. Only the received sound. Very annoying. This is the second Panasonic cordless I have owned that has had poor sound.

Got Took.......2007-06-07
I finally received this phone from amazon yesterday after waiting 11 days from order date. I found the box to look as if it were old and the phone itself was not wrapped as if it came directly from the factory. I believe it is a refurbished phone even though I paid for a new one. I paid $52.85 for this phone and tonight I see the same phone from amazon listed at $34.99. What is wrong with this picture?
You need to KNOW how to program the phone to get it to work to its optimum level........2006-06-02
This phone CAN be programmed to say the name of the caller and then show the phone number ... it has the CW feature so if you are on the phone and get a call, the name and number of the caller will show up, thus giving you a chance to either pick it up or call back later. The sleek design makes it ez to hold and the speakerphone is a great feature when your hands are bz (as in cooking).
Save Your Money.......2005-11-19
The talking caller ID only gives the name and not the number, so a call from someone you know (eg MOM back in Podunk) is just like the call from the magazine salesman -- "out of area" is all you hear. You can't program the caller id to recognize the number as "MOM". Voice quality is marginal. So that people can hear your recorded greeting, you have to shout into the microphone, which is too directional. But on sale, it's worth trying as perhaps a second phone on the line.
Bad Phone.......2005-05-16
This is our second Panasonic phone. They have both had multiple problems. After a year of constant problems our current phone (this model) has finally died (for no good reason). We have had problems since day 1 - with the most common being 5-10 second gaps in reception about every 15 minutes of use. Minor but very iritating. You would think if they can make phones that get reception off a satelite that getting reliable reception on the couch would not be a major engineering hurdle. I would not buy another panasonic phone.
Don't buy any Panasonic products anymore........2004-09-30
I used to think that Panasonic products meant quality. However after buying this phone, I am very disappointed with the quality control at Panasonic. The unit looks okay but after I charged the battery and tried to set the base unit, the handset failed to communicate with the base. It kept giving the same error "No link to base. Place on cradle and try again." again and again. The manual says to go near the base, raise the antenna etc. I was trying the setup with both the units practically next to each other. Panasonic support was the worst. They couldn't help at all and wanted to insist that the unit was fully functional and it seemed like I was doing something wrong. Since the unit was purchased more than 30 days ago, I had no option other than to scrap it and purchased a Uniden phone.
