And one remote to rule them all..........2007-12-29
I received the Harmony 550 for Xmas, and having just installed a home theater which required four remotes, set it up immediately. My home theater setup includes a Sony HDTV (functioning as a monitor), two Humax TiVo Series 2 DVRs with built-in DVDs, a Denon A/V Receiver controlling built-in speakers, and a VCR. The software installation was quite quick on my Windows XP laptop, and the software led me through the installation so I had the basic functionality set up pretty quickly. The defaults were a bit lacking, as it doesn't deal with the combo DVR/DVD devices well; after initial setup, many basic buttons (like FFwd/Rew) weren't set up. This was quickly rectified by going into the software and customizing each button (probably took 10 minutes to do), and now I have been able to put all the other remotes away.
The Cons: if you are a TiVo user, you'll really miss the layout of the TiVo remote. I had programmed one of my TiVo remotes to do almost everything (turn A/V Receiver and TV on at the same time, control receiver volume, etc.), but there were still one or two functions it wouldn't do (set TV aspect ratio). Now I am missing the TiVo layout. The button layout of the 550 isn't well suited for DVR users -- the buttons you use the most are in an awkward location. For that reason, I'm contemplating getting the Harmony 670 which seems to be laid out better.
But overall, I would recommend this remote -- it's really nice to not have to fumble around finding the right remote for the right job! And the price is certainly right.
Harmony 550 Universal Remote.......2007-12-29
This is my third universal remote and the best so far. I also have an old Cambridge Audio LCD touch screen remote and a Sony RM-AV2500. I'm running a fairly modest set up which comprises a TV, DirecTV DVR, DVD player and surround sound receiver.
Pros:-
Very easy to set up using the online site - remote was fully functional after first download of codes although I'll be back to tinker a little with customization later
Comfortable in hand with buttons in sensible locations and easy to use with one hand
Great to look at (looks more expensive than it is)
Buttons and not an LCD screen - an LCD screen has to be looked at to be sure you are pressing the right button.
Cons:-
Button feel when pressing is a little cheap (somewhat plastic click)
Has frozen once (to unlock, remove one battery and replace - codes are not lost)
The online programming is a huge step forward compared with the Sony remote listed above which requires hours of programming to get it how you want it. The Sony is the only item of electronic gear that I own that I have to refer to the instruction book each time I need to change a setting. As noted above I have had 2 LCD type remotes previously, lured by the supposed high tech and more expensive looks. I ended up using my DirecTV universal remote more often than both since it was less cumbersome to use and can be used with one hand.
If you are looking for an easy to use universal remote that anyone would be comfortable using then the Harmony 550 is the one for you.
Rating would be a 5 except for the lock up. Still a great buy, well worth the money and strongly recommended.
awesome and cheap.......2007-12-28
I didn't need a flashy, multicolored screen, but instead, I needed something to use as I have quite a few components. This does the trick well, especially with the activities and help modes. And it does it cheap, much more cheaply than the other logitechs and muuuuch more cheaply than the overpriced monster universals. Programing special functions is a bit tougher, but I haven't spent much effort on it so it's likely not that difficult. The list of products you can use with this is very large and growing. A great buy.
The answer.......2007-12-28
This is the answer to too manyremotes. easy to use. Easy to set up. It's our second one
Harmony at last.......2007-12-28
Finally, a remote that actually makes our home theater system intuitive for everyone, including my wife and guests. No longer does she have to juggle three remotes and remember how to navigate the input menu on the TV, remember which input on the receiver is set to which device, or juggle remotes just to change the channel or the volume. Just press "Watch cable" and poof everything turns on to the right input. Same for Watch a DVD, or play xbox 360 (it will even turn on the console), etc.
For me the setup was fairly intuitive, although I have more computer experience than most. The software recognized all of my components from the start and so far I have not had a need to make it "learn" any commands from my remotes. After starting an activity the fact that the four buttons tied to the LCD display become "soft" buttons that can be customized for your most used functions that may not have a space on the remote is brilliant. These can be set up in multiple pages, allowing for additional commands to be programmed in that may not be used as often but are still important. Also, pressing the devices button allows for extensive control of a single device for getting into some of the more in-depth functions of a component.
The style of this remote is perfect for us - I have no desire for the gaudy full color screen or finding a place to set the charging cradle for the higher-end models and this one is classy and actually quite thin. Being able to just swap out the batteries when they get low is better to me than having to remember to set the thing on a charger.
All in all, I am very impressed and very pleased with this Christmas gift from my wife - although I wonder if it wasn't as much for her as it was for me!

Customer Reviews:
Really a nice remote!.......2007-12-31
A couple years ago, I had the MX3000 remote, which is a gem but costs about a grand. This remote, especially at Amazon prices; sub 400, is a steal!
It controls my:
Onkyo 875 A/V receiver
Sanyo PLV-Z2000 projector
Panasonic DMP-DB30 Blu-Ray
Toshiba HD-XA1 HD-DVD
Panasonic Plasma
Dish Vip 211 HD receiver
Dish Vip 622 HD receiver
The touchscreen is clear, bright, and sensitive.
I love the motion sensor. It works when the remote is picked up but doesn't activate if bumped. This is good because the battery life is short. Keep the charging stand handy! The remote fits the charging stand MUCH better than the previous Harmony 880 that will not stay on the charger unless you put something heavy on it...
So, all in all, this is one terrific remote, especially at a tenth of the cost of some other high-end remotes. For the average consumer, this is all you will need. Of course, it is not nearly as programmable as the remote that costs a grand, but who, on average needs that anyway?
Enjoy!
Logitech Harmony 1000 Awesome!!!!.......2007-12-31
This is a great product for home theater systems with multiple systems to control. Simple to use and great for people who are entering the home theater world for the first time with limited budget.
Life is Good!!.......2007-12-31
We LOVE the Harmony 1000 Universal Remote. It has eliminated 5 clickers. It's not difficult to program and is very 'user friendly'. We should have gotten it sooner!!
the bashers are idiots.......2007-12-30
Ok so i have been reading plenty of bashing on this remote, but the people complaining obviously have no idea what they are talking about. I OWN a Home theater Installation company, I have programmed remotes costing much much more, but ANY harmony remote is a Good remote. Of course if you have never programmed a logitech or any other learning or macro remote, the task can be somewhat daunting, but I assure you there is nothing worng with the software or the remote, and if you pay attention during set up you will never ever ever need an owners manual, and even if you did, just call logitech, thier customer support is AMAZING, ill say it again CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS AMAZING. I have set up at least 30 harmony remotes and they are without a doubt the BEST bang for your buck 1touch remote.Hands down better then anything sitting next to it on the shelf. I feel so strongly about this that it prompted my very first review of anything on amazon, so enjoy, and take it slow you will have no trouble.
Not worth the money.......2007-12-29
At the price I paid for this remote it should work wonders. But it doesn't. It usually never turns on all or sets all my devices correctly. My other less expensive Harmony remotes works much better. I will be3 returning this one. Don't bother buying this one.

3 Thumbs Up.......2007-12-31
Terrific product. It took me 20 minutes to setup and I was off to the races. The RF option is amazing! We just installed a flat panel television and hide all of the equipment in the closet. It looks great!
Highly recommended!
Minor imperfections can't bring down the overall benefits of this remote.......2007-12-29
I spent more time trying to pick out a multi-function remote than I did setting this one up. The H890 is very easy to configure if you follow the instructions and use the updated software/firmware available from Logitech's web site. I concur with the common complaints of the remote balance, grip, and small buttons, but aside from those minor issues, this thing is great. Having moved the AV gear into another room and now using the RF functionality is a treat. Going through action macros can be a bit slow, but I blame that more on the devices being controlled than the remote itself. This device is a spectacular time saver and was easy for the family to learn. If you're willing to budget this much for a remote to add these conveniences, I think this is an excellent buy provided your expectations aren't any higher than what the product claims to do without voodoo. I am planning on purchasing an H880Harmony Advanced Universal Remote for another location in the house thanks to the pleasure I've had using the H890
Not for Seniors.......2007-12-26
If you can do text messaging on a cell phone, you can probably operate this remote. You also need good close vision. This remote is a slippery unit that is hard to hold and operate. It takes two hands and even then is difficult. Unless you have 20/20 vision, you can't read any of the touch keys. Once you find the one you want, it's hard to press the right button as you need very small fingers or long fingernails. It took me 7 hours to program and it still won't shut off my direct tv unit. The problem with the Direct TV unit is that there are several manufactures and you don't know which one built your unit. Therefore, you have to do a learning remote exercise facing one to the other. Each time I did this, it gave me new codes but none of them shut off the unit. The other problem is the one touch button only works when the units you want to activate are turned off. When I load a disc into my blueray player, it turns the unit on. Then I have to turn it off to use the remote. It does work through wood doors so I have to give it a couple of stars.
Wife Proof Remote.......2007-12-26
My wife has a hard time trying to figure out all of the remotes we have. There is one for the satellite receiver, the HD DVD player, the Blu-ray player, the HD TV, and the surround sound receiver. With this remote all my wife has to do is push a button and what ever she is trying to do happens. One key and everything turns on or off depending on what she is trying to do.
Prepare for HOURS of Frustration!.......2007-12-22
I have had many universal remotes, but none as bad as this one! I write computer software for a living, but the complexity of using this terrible piece of junk is unbelievable. Get ready to spend hours and hours sitting in front of your computer setting this up. Hours of time on the phone to technical support as they explain how do download more firmware updates, and how to go through detailed processes to get the wireless extender to work. Then, even when it works at all, the digital readout is hard to see and you'll have dozens of useless commands for all your devices to page through. For example, just to turn my receiver on or off, I had to page down through SIX pages of commands! Can you tailor all those and get this eventually to work? Maybe. But do you really have an entire work's week of your life to spend on a remote? The universal that comes with my Onkyo works to control the other devices just fine. Total time to set it up -- about 15 minutes. I suggest you move on to a different remote.
Average customer rating:
- They don't last very long.
- Doesn't work well with tivo
- Works okay, but it's not the silver bullet the price would suggest
- Don't use the software that comes with it to configure it!
- Does What It Promises

They don't last very long........2007-12-31
I bought a Harmony 676 remote in April of 2006. It has an almost identical layout and functions as the 670. After only 18 months the two most frequently used buttons on the side of the display quit working (the ones that control my DVR). Since you can't reprogram any of the buttons on Harmony remotes, that makes it pretty useless. For $130, I expect better quality than that.
One weakness of the Harmony button layout is devoting one of the 3 colored buttons at the top to the TV. Think about it. If you're buying a universal remote, you have at least several video related devices (a DVD, DVR, VCR, etc.) so what are the odds you'll only want to turn on your TV without any of those other devices? Duh! AND you can't program that button to turn on anything else.
My only other experience with a universal remote was with a Sony Commander. That unit was awesome (but the manual totally sucked). It lasted longer than the Harmony, but eventually it too developed unresponsive sections in the display. I don't know how common this is, but it's something you should consider.
Doesn't work well with tivo.......2007-12-30
Just got the remote from my son who programmed all my devices, tivo, receiver,dvd,dvd-vcr combo, and projector. While it will work with each item, when you turn on the tv the next day tivo is frozen and has to be unplugged and restarted (5 to 10 minutes). Wondering if anyone else has experienced this with the 670 and tivo.
thanks
Works okay, but it's not the silver bullet the price would suggest.......2007-12-28
You'd think because you're paying 100-plus dollars for a remote, this must be plug-and-play simplicity. Don't be fooled--this is still programming, which means you shouldn't buy it for parents or the even the moderately techno-literate and expect them to get through it. The Logitech software has a relatively easy-to-follow wizard for setting up basic tasks, but once you get into the weeds of tweaking your experience--such as "teaching" the remote a missing device command, assigning that command a keypad location or placing it within the secondary menu that is consigned to a paged scroll in the LCD display screen--things get confusing and the experience begins to fall apart.
Despite ever-present help, Logitech hasn't really given much thought to smoothing the user interface out at this level, so you're confronted with the actual IR command nomenclature (e.g. "PwrToggle") and must, for instance, adjust settings for millisecond signal delays using numeric values that aren't explained. If you teach the 670 a command (for my LG flat-screen, the important "Ratio" button that lets you flip between aspect ratios was missing) and want to put it on the first page of the LCD menu, you have to click an up-arrow button for every position (that's _several dozen_) in the command queue; there's no "jump to top" function.
Given that fine-tuning will be an inevitability for many--you'll probably discover some oft-used function is buried in the LCD menu or doesn't respond as precisely as the original remote--much more consideration to the software interface should have been given.
Other nits:
- Backlight button isn't intuitively located
- Backlight itself could be stronger
- Longer command labels in two-column LCD display are truncated, so you can't tell what they are
On the plus side, the 670 does seem to broadcast its IR widely, so as long as you're pointing in the general direction of your components, none should miss a signal.
Don't use the software that comes with it to configure it!.......2007-12-28
I can honestly say that I hated this remote and was planning to return it. The Logitech software was far too limiting in what it allowed you to do. Then I found a link that someone mentioned online to
http://members.harmonyremote.com/
This allows you to log in using the same user id that you set up in the Logitech software, but now you can actually configure the remote (move/rename LCD commands, as well as a host of other options not available in the Logitech software).
Now we love it.
As for items getting out of sync (TV not on/off at the right time), I set an LCD button in each activity to toggle power to the tv (or dvd player, etc), and changed the "power settings" for each device to keep it on all the time. Works perfectly and replaced 5 remotes. The device timing seems to work best on my equipment when set to 100mS, 500mS was too slow and made the remote seem sluggish.
Does What It Promises.......2007-12-28
If you are tired of switching between your TV remote, Cable/Satellite remote, AV remote, VCR and/or DVD remote you should check out the Harmony 670. They make newer versions with larger, color screens which might also be worth a look. I prefer the battery-powered 670 to the rechargeable models. That being said, the Harmony was easy to set up using the included software and the Logitech website (a USB cable is even included). The online setup even recognized a typo I entered for one component make and model and suggested the proper replacement. The screen and buttons are a little small, but very functional...it replaced the 4 remotes I routinely used previously. Although I haven't set it up yet, I understand I can program it to control by ceiling fan and lights. I recommend it.

Great addition to the Harmony Remote.......2007-12-14
Easy to set up and allowed me to hide all the other equipment. Could use better adhesive on the infrared sensors, had to tape them on.
"IT WORKS".......2007-11-28
OK JUST RECIVED THIS- FIRST NOT EASY TO SET UP 2ND ITS GREAT AFTER 3 HOURS WITH LOITECH TECH DEPT (BY THE WAY THEY ARE OUSTANDING) IT WORKS WORTH THE TIME TO SET UP. THE DOWN SIDE IS YOU HAVE THESES CABLES TO HOOK UP TO IT TO PLACE IN FRONT OF THE UNITS AND YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG THE EXTENDER EVERY TIME TO UPGRADE THE FIRM WARE. BUT ONCE AGAIN ITS WORTH IT!!!!!!
WORKS GREAT WITH MY HARMONY 1000
wireless extender.......2007-11-22
Works well in tandem with my Harmony 1000.
I love hiding all the components in the closet are freeing up the house.
Definitely worth the price of admission........2007-11-17
I debated whether I should purchase this unit to compliment my Logitech Harmony 1000 remote control. After all, each of my home theatre components were already wired with IR sensors and I was skeptical of the consistent connectivty of the signal (wireless signal dropping out)? Wow! Was I wrong. The RF Extender works exactly as it should. The set-up was a breeze, and the connection is solid. It works evey time...flawlessly. It is definitely, worth the price of admission. Logitech has delivered another great product.
Logitech Harmony RF Wireless Extender.......2007-11-12
Good easy and quick setup. Having to update through usb is a slight pain since you have to unplug the AC power cord when you plug in the usb. My extender is installed in a media built-in which makes unplugging this unit from a power strip an inconvenience but not a big deal.

Complicated, but works well........2008-01-01
Received this as a gift--it's very well thought out and has tons of functionality.l After about 45 minutes I got it workign with all my components. I had to redo a couple, though. Once you get it set up, it works well.
The only remote you will ever need.......2007-12-22
The Harmony 880 is Great! I got this for Christmas 2005 and it has been running smoothly for almost two years.
My favorite feature is the automatic back light. Pick up the remote and it senses the movement to turn on the light.
The customizable buttons make it so easy to watch a DVD, just one button sets up everything, including opening the DVD tray. It can even dim the lights and start up in "mute" so that you are not surprised by your last high volume rock out. I am guessing that it could lower the blinds too but that would require a specialty store I think.
My only gripe is the "beep" the remote makes when you place it on the charge station. I mean, come on, if you have a remote to watch TV you can probably see, and you don't need a noise to let you know it is charging. But then maybe the beep is just a kind gesture to support all users.
Worth its weight in gold.......2007-12-18
Harmony is an appropriate name.
My refurbished product arrived like brand new, and after a couple months is still operating perfectly. This little gem has tremendously simplified using all of my various components, satellite boxes, recorders, players, monitors and TVs. I'll be ordering a second one soon.
Harmony 880 review.......2007-12-15
Overall pretty good, but unable to distinguish between volume controls of the Sony LCD TV and the Phillips speaker/preamp setup. Frustrating when watching DVD's- still need 2 remotes. The included software in incapable of asking the right question to get the remote to change, and "training" the remote doesn't work.
Otherwise it works well on all the included equipment, including an iPod dock and an Apple TV.
Finally, one that works!.......2007-12-13
I bought several sub-$100 "universal" remotes, and none worked. This one does, and does beautifully. The on-line setup makes it so much easier than trying to press odd combinations of buttons. It didn't map some of the less-used buttons for my Yamaha receiver very well, but it's so programmable that I can fix the mistakes if necessary. So far, I haven't felt the need to. Everything else is great. Oh yes, another thing. It has a wait period for turning on each device (so the electronics can respond to subsequent commands) and the default for my big-screen, rear projection TV is 25-30 seconds. It doesn't need to wait that long. So I just went in to the configuration and reduced it. Cool! You need to be a little bit tech-savvy, but by no means a rocket scientist to set it up. After that, anyone can use it.

Great remote .......2007-12-27
After much research, I decided to buy the 720 instead of the 880. The 720 provides many functions and features that the 880 has. The remote was very easy to program. I was able to program the remote to control my xbox 360, HDDVD, tv, reciever, and satellite reciever. I got it to work the firt time I tried it. I read a couple of threads on AVS forum on how to properly program the remote, so I was pretty much prepared on what to expect.
The remote does a great job. I have customized it to my likes such as my favorite shows, slide show, and activities icons. This is a really good investment. The price might seem high at first, but the remote essentially pays for itself in the long run. Now my wife can do any activity with my system by the simple press of the button. This remote is better than any of the original remotes for my components. Overall I would highly recommend it to any in search of nice remote.
overpriced and overrated.......2007-12-04
i bought one of these from a warehouse club at a clearance price and i'm glad i didn't pay full price...the hype and marketing from logitech would lead you to believe that you connect your remote to your computer, connect to their database, enter your products and you're done..that wasn't my experience at all, the software i needed wasn't on the disc, i had to d/l 60 megs of software before i could even use the basic functions of the remote..after entering all my info i discovered that there is a bit of troubleshooting to do in order to achieve anything useable from such an expensive device and even then i wasn't impressed..to date it still has a problem trying to figure out which input to use when i want to watch a dvd and it pales in simple commands when compared to my remote from comcast, with my remote from comcast i can change the channel on the cable box and adjust the volume on the tv without having to change the function keys..on the Harmony remote i have to switch the remote from cable to TV in order to accomplish the same task, there just might be a way to make it behave similar to my comcast remote but at this point i don't have the patience as i'd rather learn something that i could benefit me in my career...
Harmony 720 Remote.......2007-11-11
I have this remote about 2 weeks. This remote is working great. I am very happy with it.
Great remote--some minor set up problem.......2007-10-14
Over a week ago I received the Harmony 720. It looks sharp, and I love the way it wakes up the LCD screen when you pick it up. I just upgraded my home theatre with a Toshiba LCD, Oppo DVD, Brighthouse HD DVR and a Onkyo SR705 receiver all of which have HDMI. I had a pre-existing old Sony CD carousel.
You first have to register your device on the Harmony web site. The set up is very intuitive for a basic set up. After 15 minutes I was ready to go. Every thing worked great except when I selected "Play DVD" on the activity menu, The TV, DVD player, and the Receiver turned on--but alas no video signal to the TV. I tried screwing around for an hour or so. It is easy to make changes in your setup and then download changes to the remote with the included USB cable. I then resorted to the support line--yes there was a wait, but I was treated nicely and patiently by the support folks. The first person was essentially scripted and when she couldn't get things working she passed me to an intermediate level support. It was 9PM and no I wasn't talking to Bangalore, but a gentleman in Toronto. The problem turned out to be a timing issue with the DVD's HDMI port. The nifty thing is that support can change the settings on their server and you then download the changes to the remote--then walk to the TV and see if they got it right. After some fine tuning it is working well. It is great to put away the five remotes it is replacing. Some of the buttons are small, but the HD DVR remote that replaced the remote for the non-HD DVR had some really crowded tiny buttons. All in all a great remote so far.
Seems like a great remote so far! .......2007-10-04
Purchased the Harmony 720 about a month ago and it's been going great. The only issue i'm run into is the set up. A slip of my pointer during the instillaiton process on my Mac and I said "Yes" that the remote was a Harmony 1000 instead. After repeatedly uninstalling and reinstalling the software to not avail, I finally called Logitech. I could not get the software to recognise my Harmony 720. I could not get the prompt to show up again. Level 1 tech support is very weak. They took me through all the same procedures that i already attempted. They required me to be on phone while on the internet with the controler attached to my computer. This was VERY basic support. After talking to tech support for over an hour, I was finally sent to level 2 support. Only then did they tell me about a file that needed deletion in a configuation file deep in my Mac. That allowed me to say no to the Hamony 1000 question again, and only then did the setup procedure work. Set up went smoothly from there. Selecting components is easy. The battery has a great lifespan. Good reception with the IR. No other issues at all. Once I got past the user error issue, the Harmony 720 works great!!

Customer Reviews:
Great Remote; latest Harmony Remote Software works well with it.......2007-12-31
Outstanding remote at a terrific price. Was concerned that the 520 remote isn't listed on Logitech's web site anymore for downloads. However, as of Dec 07, the latest Harmony Remote Software, v 7.3.2, was very easy to use with it. It saves all your device information, including your activity settings (e.g. "watch TIVO"), for future updates or for programming a new Harmony remote.
Awsome Remote.......2007-12-09
I was luchy enough to find 2 of the Harmony 520's for a great price. After setting them up and using them I would have gladly paid retail for them.I already own the Logitech Z -5500 computer speaker system , and the Harmony 520 matches my system perfectly. Controls all my inputs, effects, settings, and Volume levels on my computer. Easy on line set up. Customer service was fast and helpful. It just takes time to learn the buttons and how to use the remote once that is done its smooth sailing. . Some advice, invest in rechargable batteries.
Excellent....Smithers.......2007-09-19
I don't know about some of the other reviewers, but I really like this product. I don't know what people are complaining about when it comes to the Internet software, I really thought it was easy to use. I was able to add a few buttons that didn't sync up automatically, and that was super easy. I don't know if the price is worth it, but it really is nice for family who aren't familiar with your system.
The only think I wish was better was the clarity of the LCD screen. I can see it fine, but I don't know if older people could see it as well as they would like.
I also don't think it feels cheep, like others mentioned. From a tactile stand point it may be a little difficult at first to know where buttons are, but you get the hang of it quickly. Yes, the number buttons are a little small, but I'm fine with that.
I like that all of the buttons on your regular remote that the Harmony remote doesn't have buttons for, are available via the LCD screen.
It sure is nice not having three separate remotes on the couch.
Amazing remote. I love it.......2007-08-22
GENERAL OPINION -----------
I have tried at least 6 different universal remotes including the much hyped Chameleon remote. This is by far the best remote I could have ever have asked for. Got it for $100 from Walmart. I always had this weird picture in my mind of a cool universal remote, where it would look like a Gaming console with a huge LCD touch screen. Who needs that really? All you want is a normal looking light weight remote which controls every damn device that you own. And that is what this remote does.
SETUP -----------------
Setup couldnt be easier. Hookup to your computer run the wizard it asks you a bunch of no-brainer questions. And you are all set. I couldnt believe that all my devices were working flawlessly. The coolest part of the remote is it groups things by acitivies. So if I selecte activity "Watch TV", it will turn on my TV, AV receiver, Sat Receiver, Mute the TV volume, Swithc the AV reciever to the correct audio input, change AV receiver's mode to DOLBY pro logic (for surround sound) and finally change the TV's source to HDMI (where I have hooked up the Sat to the TV). This is freaking unbelievable. The guys at logitech have done a wonderful job. It is the same with any other activity like "watch DVD" also.
Finally, the remote's hard buttons and soft buttons (4 expandable to infinite via the arrow key) automatically change to operate your device. And if your are not satisfied with it, you can individually program every hard and soft button according to your needs. Although, the average user will never ever have to do all that tweaking the remote intelligently changes its buttons to fit the activity you are wathcing on its own.
GRIPES/WISH LIST ------------
None really, but I also have an X10 system in my house. Which means I can control all the lights in my house (on, off, dim, bright) via a singel remote). I wish I could also control my X10 lights with this remote. eg. If I want to watch a movie now, I have to use the X10 remote to switch to movie watching scene (where it dims living room lights, turns off bedroom and kitchen lights and also dims dining room lights to 50%) and then I have to use the Logitech to execute watch DVD activity. I guess I am being too greedy for $100. But guys this is my wish list. So give me a break.

A great product.......2007-07-25
I own several universal remotes and have been disappointed with all until now. The ability to set it up on your PC is great. It works with all my electronics and is by far the best in its field.
