Not worth the money!!!!.......2007-06-16
I got an iPod mini as a gift from my parents for my birthday almost 2 years ago. I have had to have the Apple store replace it with a new one twice. The first one that I got wouldn't turn on at all. The second one, the wheel wouldn't stay locked, then it wouldn't hold a charge, and by the time I brought back to the store it was completely spazzing. The third and most recent replacement mini that they gave me had been working fine but as i was using it, all of a sudden the screen faded so now the screen is useless. The people at the Apple store told me that they had never seen this happen before and had no idea why it happened. Its not under warranty anymore and they told me that the only thing I could do would be to send it to an online repair shop or basically use it as an iPod shuffle. I never dropped any of the iPods, they never got wet, there is no rhyme or reason (even the Mac genius' couldn't figure out why this has happened) for why I have had 3 of them not work. This iPod mini has been nothing but a hassle for the past 2 years, please save yourself the time, effort, and money. I wish someone had warned me.

I was a little disappointed by the condition of the iPod-several scratches and dents. So I think it was a bit overpriced, considering the appearance. Since returning the iPod once for service, it has worked fine.

I paid $250 for this i pod. After about 6 months the battery went dead slowly and even stopped charging altogether. I could only use it if it were hooked up to a charger. I replaced the battery myself(it CAN be done, people) and it worked fine for about a month before it started freezing up. Now my computer doesn't recognize it anymore and the clickwheel doesn't work. I never once dropped it or got water in it. I ended up giving it to my friend who collects broken i pods for parts and believe me, he's got A LOT of them. These items aren't worth nearly what they cost. They break often they're expensive to fix. Why Apple gets away the obvious contempt they have for their customers by selling them over-priced faulty equipment is beyond me.

It is a great gadget to have for the summer. I love the size of it. I am glad I purchased it. I enjoy having it at my gradma's house this summer. She does not have to listen to loud music since I have my Ipod.:)

bought 3 years ago. battery always sucked but entire thing died today (despite trying all the "trouble-shooting" tips Apple offers on website). very disappointing considering i paid $300 bucks for 3 years ago. AVOID simply for the miserably short battery life alone. almost missing my old walkman.
Not a very good ipod.......2007-04-20
I had my ipod mini for about 1 year before it crashed and I had to get it fixed for 50 dollars. Not a big deal. But then a few months later it crashed again and this time I decided that it would be better to get a ipod nano instead of paying 50 dollars every month it crashes. I never dropped it and I never got water on it but it still broke.

well, for earphones at $0.01 + $4.99 shipping fee, these earphones are useable, but only useable. When i opened the package, the first word popped out of my head was "plastic", yea, plastic. And the earbuds are a size bigger than the REAL ipod earphones. So when I put them on, it's not very comfortable. I haven't been wearing them for a long time, but i predict that my ears will hurt after wearing them for a while.
my suggestion is that if you are just looking for cheap + not too good quality earphones, these are good for you. Otherwise, don't get it, you will be very disappointed...

these are not real ipod headphones, they only look like it and the product page tries to trick you into thinking you are buying real ipod headphones. the sound quality is horrible compared to real ipod headphones and you will realize this immediately once you use them. don't bother buying them because you will replace them immediately.

Delivery.
-I ordered this three days ago. I just got it today. I'm using them now. It doesn't take long for it to be shipped to your address. The delivery is well. It came in a brown well patted envelope. In my opinion, the delivery varies in areas. It depends on where you order from.
Product.
-The picture shown above does not look like the one I got. When you look at it, it looks like an ipod product. The wire length is about 3-3 half feet long. It has an ipod feel to it. The product it's self is great. It looks original. It doesn't stand out, as if you would care ^__^
Quality.
-I'm listening to them right now. The quality is bad if you want to know. Well, its not too bad for people who really want it without a care of bass. The bass is a problem for this earbud. Its has stereo, not like those really cheap earbud(I have had those before). The sound quality is great but bass really lags in this one.
Bottom line.
-If you need ear phones and do not care about the sound quality, this ones for you. This product isn't bad but great for those who need earphones badly at a price that is low. I'm going to put this product to good use till I buy a new one.

okay sound, really short cable, cool cable expander which keeps the cable from tangling, it's definitely not the picture shown, if you plan on playing sports with these headphones just forget it because the cable is so short that it wont even reach your pocket.

This saved an Ipod for very little money but I would give it a 2 on a hardness scale for an electronics techy and a 7 on a scale for a CPA. Its well within the skill range of the average person as long as they give a little patience. You can save your Ipod just relax and take your time

Good battery and simple instructions. The instructions were definitely written by someone with a language other than English as their primary language, but it gets the point across.
Only drawback was that the flat head screw driver should have been thinner at the tip to wedge it in there with more ease and less damage to the metal and plastic.
Saved my old iPod mini, not too hard to install.......2007-11-17
My old iPod mini had gotten to the point where it would only work for an hour or two with a full charge, so I decided to try replacing the battery with this kit, since there's nothing to lose. Yes, I could buy a new iPod, but I feel the old iPod mini is pretty great, and they don't make them like they used to.
Anyway, this kit is pretty great easy to use and includes full instructions on replacing the battery (and if, for some reason, you don't like the instructions they include, there is an instructional video online: http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-11293_7-6378822-1.html?tag=bnav). Installation was pretty easy...the casing did get a little scratched up in the process, but nothing serious. And the battery works really, really well, I'd say at least as well as the original one installed. And plus, it's really cheap, about $14 including shipping...I'd definitely recommend this IF you're sure your iPods problem is with its battery.

I'm a power geek: I've designed and built circuit boards, PhD in physical chemistry, have no fear or qualms about building and repairing computers. But I blew this repair - used too much force and ripped the molex connector off of the mother board. Just for kicks, I continued the procedure and found extreme difficulty getting the motherboard to slide past the screen glass without damaging soldered-on chips. I know that micro-soldering is not my strength - so I consider my mini a loss. The product looks good, but technique is critical. Beware!

if your ipod mini battery won`t last more than 1 hour. this product is your ticket for 6-8 hrs non stop music playing. It`s so easy to replace and the instructions are pretty clear step by step with the right tools. The only thing was that it didn`t show on how to open the seamsless metal cover ipod mini. once I found out(google) putting the battery was simple.
