Great potential.......2007-11-15
One of the main reasons I chose this item was for the internet radio capability. It works pretty well, but the navigation of radio stations is horrible. You have to scroll thru a single list, no categorization, and no saving of favorites. You pretty much have to go thru the entire list each time you want to choose a station (using up your remote control battery in the process). The unit occasionally locks up (continues playing, but you can't use the controls), and you have to turn it off or disconnect the power. If the unit was upgraded with station categories and ability to save favorites, I'd give it 5 stars. iPod works fine with this unit.
Loving My iPod Content on the Big Screen.......2007-04-26
Although it took a bit to get the video to work (the instructions could have been a bit more clear), I'm loving this thing! The other multi-media dock options I considered didn't offer Internet radio -- and this one did.
I do wish that the display for the video options was on the TV screen, rather than on the iPod display. And, I also wish there was a way to reset the TV Out option from the TV screen. I'd prefer to not have to physically touch the iPod, when I have the cool little remote in-hand.
What surprises me the most is the quality of the image. I fully expected pixelation and a less-than-clear presentation. What I found was a good picture, and the ability to see some details on the larger screen that I had missed on the hand-held version. In particular... it's so much easier to read the translation text on Heroes (one of my favorite iTunes TV show purchases).
needs major improvement.......2007-02-20
I bought this instead of the official apple video dock only because this product supports internet radio stations. Big mistake. I have an iPod Video which I want to show movies/videos on my home theatre, and although this has both an S-video output and composite video output, I can't get it to display any video from the iPod. The video output is just for the menu system. But... if you don't care about displaying video then it's not that bad of a product. The remote control is a little weak but will work from 10 feet away. The aluminum/silver finish is a great match to audio system components, and the dock itself is heavy and feels well made. Audio quality is decent, and the video quality of menu system is nice and clear.

I bought this and returned it. It didn't do much that I couldn't do with my iPod dock. In particular, the user interface was awkward. This is basically a solution to a problem that doesn't exist for me.

The biggest disappointment was having to select the video I wated to watch, ON THE IPOD!! not using an on screen guide!!!

Unacceptable Sound and Volume Output.......2006-12-23
As is the case with all iPod docks, you will most likely be disappointed with the sound quality and volume output that these devices produce. However, it is not so much the device as it is where the technology currently lies at. This dock, which I bought, is basically useless unless you use the iPod's "lossless" sound conversion format. Even then, the volume output on any home theater will approximately be at 50% the level as your CD/DVD player, set-top box, etc. would be. I am running a $25,000 home theater system and still cannot find an acceptable sound quality and volume level. Do not waste your time or money. This is a poor investment unless you can find one in the $30-$50 range - cables included.

I've been waiting months to get my hands on this item and what a disappointment. The menu does not fill the screen on a regular 4:6 TV; there's a bar on the left and the words get cut off on the bottom - and it doesn't even look square. The menu navigation is slow and I couldn't even change any settings. Like I said, very disappointing.

A total disappointment.......2007-04-27
I will never know whether this product sounds great or awful for the simple reason that it powers on and off the minute the iPod is placed in it, and then ceases to respond at all. Griffin has a note on their site about problems with the remote, but I have the one with the "fixed" remote, and it is still basically an expensive paperweight. The documentation is virtually non-existent - there's more text on the face of the average driver's license. We will be returning this to the store asap.
