Bad design. The retractable wire container is too large and keeps bumping me. I would not recommend this product. The sound is fine, but the big box-like wire holder is a nuisance. The length on the wire to the box is not retractable.

If you are considering purchasing this product...don't. It is a waste of money. The retractable wires got stuck the second time I used it. I suggest you find something better.

Ok, so it worked for a few months. A $1.50 set of ear buds will work for a few months too but that isn't what this item is supposed to be. I liked the concept and it saved space but it broke. It broke. It broke. It broke. And just so we are clear, it broke. One ear piece at a time it did! I cut loose the first one that died (about four weeks of ownership) and figured that one out of two wasn't so bad. Then five weeks later the second one broke. In short, a waste of money in my opinion. Try another brand.

These ear buds are terrible. They don't stay in your ears and retract when you don't want them to. I would not recommend this particular item.
Sound good, wires weak.......2007-04-10
I loved these earbuds for 5 weeks, right up until they stopped working. The wires to the iPod (the stationary wires, not the ones that wind up) disconnected or broke inside the retractable casing. For a while it worked if I taped the cord so it pushed the wires into the case. But quickly stopped working altogether.
Too bad, they're comfortable, the sound is fine (great on the bus), and the retraction works good.

I wished I had read all of the reviews for this when I bought mine two years ago. It is worse than a piece of junk because I paid too much money for it and it is useless. The buttons are not easy to use, when I think I am turning it up, I have somehow skipped to the FM radio and cannot seem to get back, other times it seems to cycle through the same 5 songs for no apparent reason. I am still very bitter about spending so much money for a worthless piece of junk - not to mention all the time I have spent trying to make it work.

As most who bought this one knows the battery door did indeed break on my sons. It skips and freezes really bad. He still uses it but I do not think it would hurt his feelings if it got stolen at school! lol

electrical short kills cheap-med quality head phones! i lost four before i figure out the problem. and no, it was not just one player. i returned it and got a new one, and it did the same thing. I gave it a 2 and not a 1 because it records radio very well.DO NOT BUY!
Progressively Worse.......2007-04-09
At first I thought it was a pretty nice little MP3 player, although the 60 songs it holds has always been a thorn in my side. I didn't mind converting everthing over to real player since it doesn't play itunes, however, after about three months I had to change the battery...After changing the battery, the mp3 player would randomly shut off, which became a constant problem after every battery change, though eventually the problem would solve itself. Approximately a year later, the battery cover was also constantly falling off for no apparent reason. Now, about a year and a half since purchase, it has completely died, only playing about two minutes worth before shutting off on its own and refusing to reboot for several minutes. It's a great player for the price, but I would have liked something a little more dependable with a larger memory.
NO RESUME!!!.......2006-09-08
The title says it all. If you bought this player for listening to audiobooks, which is what I did, you'll be extremely disappointed that you'll have to fast forward through the book every time you start it up since there is no resume feature. Considering audiobooks are anywhere from 3 to 8 hours long in most cases, or at least the pieces you get from audible are, it's totally inconvenient to start playing from the beginning each time you turn it on. Get used to the fast forward button and remembering exactly what time you were at because you're going to be doing a lot of it. Lame.

The Vectis 300 is encased in a distinctive, stainless steel body. The camera uses a 24-70mm zoom lens (equivalent to a 30-87.5mm lens on a 35mm camera) that's easily controlled by two buttons on the camera back. It includes both autofocus and focus-hold systems--you can focus on objects as close as 16 inches. Select from five flash modes including red-eye reduction and fill. The Vectis 300's great looks and special features make it a camera we'd like to take anywhere. It's small enough to fit in a shirt pocket but includes a powerful zoom and a wide selection of flash and exposure options. The brushed stainless-steel casing of the Vectis 300 wins major points for style. The lens hides behind a smooth cover that automatically retracts when you turn the power on. The camera is small enough to take on any excursion, and its steel construction makes it durable enough to carry in a pocket without a bulky case.
The Vectis 300 uses dual-segment exposure metering, in which it compares the brightness of the foreground to the overall brightness of the scene. If the foreground or subject is much darker than the background, the camera automatically uses the flash to compensate for backlighting. We found this feature especially useful in outdoor scenes, where our subject was standing against a bright sky. The Vectis 300 also offers a wide range of flash options, including a combination flash and long exposure for portraits against a night scene. Red-eye reduction works well for indoor portraits, as long as you warn your subjects to sit still through the entire strobing time and subsequent exposure. The zoom is quite powerful, especially for such a compact camera, and we were able to get up to 3x magnification. The only difficulty we encountered was in backing up the zoom from telephoto to more wide-angle shots; the lens has to retract and push forward again each time you back up from a scene.
Overall, the Vectis 300 is a pleasure to use and produces bright, clear photos. Because the Vectis 300 is an Advanced Photo System (APS) camera, it provides all the advantages of APS technology, including drop-in film loading, three photo formats, and easy negative storage and indexing.

This camera is great! It's really small and takes wonderful pictures. I have also tried the ELPH 2 and this camera takes better pictures. If you are looking for a stylish aps camera, the vectis 300 is the way to go.

I give it a C+; better than average but not good. To be honest, I was disappointed. I haven't bought a camera in five years, so perhaps my expectations were out of line, but I expected more for my money.
My advice: if you can hold out a while for digital prices to drop, it'll be worth the wait.
