Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Really a nice remote!.......2007-12-31

A couple years ago, I had the MX3000 remote, which is a gem but costs about a grand. This remote, especially at Amazon prices; sub 400, is a steal!
It controls my:
Onkyo 875 A/V receiver
Sanyo PLV-Z2000 projector
Panasonic DMP-DB30 Blu-Ray
Toshiba HD-XA1 HD-DVD
Panasonic Plasma
Dish Vip 211 HD receiver
Dish Vip 622 HD receiver
The touchscreen is clear, bright, and sensitive.
I love the motion sensor. It works when the remote is picked up but doesn't activate if bumped. This is good because the battery life is short. Keep the charging stand handy! The remote fits the charging stand MUCH better than the previous Harmony 880 that will not stay on the charger unless you put something heavy on it...
So, all in all, this is one terrific remote, especially at a tenth of the cost of some other high-end remotes. For the average consumer, this is all you will need. Of course, it is not nearly as programmable as the remote that costs a grand, but who, on average needs that anyway?
Enjoy!

4 out of 5 stars Logitech Harmony 1000 Awesome!!!!.......2007-12-31

This is a great product for home theater systems with multiple systems to control. Simple to use and great for people who are entering the home theater world for the first time with limited budget.

5 out of 5 stars Life is Good!!.......2007-12-31

We LOVE the Harmony 1000 Universal Remote. It has eliminated 5 clickers. It's not difficult to program and is very 'user friendly'. We should have gotten it sooner!!

5 out of 5 stars the bashers are idiots.......2007-12-30

Ok so i have been reading plenty of bashing on this remote, but the people complaining obviously have no idea what they are talking about. I OWN a Home theater Installation company, I have programmed remotes costing much much more, but ANY harmony remote is a Good remote. Of course if you have never programmed a logitech or any other learning or macro remote, the task can be somewhat daunting, but I assure you there is nothing worng with the software or the remote, and if you pay attention during set up you will never ever ever need an owners manual, and even if you did, just call logitech, thier customer support is AMAZING, ill say it again CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS AMAZING. I have set up at least 30 harmony remotes and they are without a doubt the BEST bang for your buck 1touch remote.Hands down better then anything sitting next to it on the shelf. I feel so strongly about this that it prompted my very first review of anything on amazon, so enjoy, and take it slow you will have no trouble.

1 out of 5 stars Not worth the money.......2007-12-29

At the price I paid for this remote it should work wonders. But it doesn't. It usually never turns on all or sets all my devices correctly. My other less expensive Harmony remotes works much better. I will be3 returning this one. Don't bother buying this one.

4 out of 5 stars Great Device Performance Considering its Cost!!!.......2007-12-31

There are better microsoft models around than this one, but if you don't need an "HD" quality for a single webcam, this is a very great option!.

Great features like micro incorporaded, ready for windows live, etc.

4 out of 5 stars good webcam.......2007-12-31

good first time webcam. gives what you need. picture is clear and the sound is amazing. great buy!

3 out of 5 stars quality.......2007-12-25

the quality/resolution wasn't amazing
i was under the impression that the megapixels would suffice for video chat.. i was expecting better quality

5 out of 5 stars The Easiest!.......2007-12-23

This was my first purchase of this kind. I did not know what to expect once I received it, but found that it was simple and basic. Step by step instructions made it quick and painless to install. I bought my mom a Logitech and she's had nothing but problems getting it hooked up to her computer. This webcam has a focus option, tilt, one button connect and the picture is wonderful with it's clearity and color! I am considering buying another for my mom instead of what she has and would recommend this one to anybody!

5 out of 5 stars Great product.......2007-12-18

This ia great purchase for the price paid. The camera is usefull to video chat sessions. Besides the still pictures quality is not so great, the video quality is acceptable to use on a video chat session. If you need to have a lot of video chat session for work, this won't be a great producto for you. This products is for home user and/or user who videochat sometimes. The mic built in works perfectly.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great little switch.......2007-12-30

I picked up this switch because I needed to extend my network to hook in a few more wired devices.

It works perfectly. I just plugged in the other devices and they see the internet. All the devices can see each other. Pretty simple.

4 out of 5 stars Switch me like you mean it!.......2007-12-19

This is the best unmanaged switch I've managed to find. Unmanaged means that the unit does not have an ethernet interface that can be used to prioritize traffic flow. Most people don't know the difference, and don't need to, as unmanaged switches are by far the most common type and will do the job just fine and for significantly less money.

I have two of them, with one up in my office and the other in the basement wall-mounted beside the wiring closet. The basement unit is the primary backbone for my home network, so it gets a heavy workout. The ability to wall mount them is a nice option.

One thing about these switches is that the primary processor in the unit does not have a heatsink on it. I opened both of mine and put a heatsink on them that I had lying around. They don't need a big one, as the heat generated isn't extreme. However, they do generate heat and it is odd that they didn't use a sink for it.

5 out of 5 stars Straightforward and simple.......2007-12-18

The switch is easy to use and setup with good performance. There's not much more to add than that really... it does what I expect it to do and looks decent in the process.

My main reason for picking this over the other 2 8-port gig switches was the color coded link lights. I have a mixed speed network with some devices running at 10/100 and most running at 1GB, and I find it useful to have some indication that they are running as expected.

One last thought: I have had no issues with the switch reverting to ALL 10/100 just because 1 device is running at that speed as some other reviewers have suggested. Presumably this was some kind of firmware issue which has been resolved in recently released models... I didn't have to download any new firmware to fix this.

5 out of 5 stars Great switch, great power supply.......2007-12-09

It's a great little 8-port gigabit switch; just works. More than that - they addressed a pet peeve of mine. This switch replaces a Netgear FS605 4-port 10/100 switch that came with a big 310 gram power supply plug that ran quite warm. The giant Netgear power supply plug dissipates much more power than the switch itself.

The new D-Link's 55 gram power supply plug runs much cooler, in a much smaller package. Bravo, D-Link!

5 out of 5 stars Works perfectly right out of the box.......2007-12-06

Can't get much easier than this....plug it in, hook up your Cat 5 or 6 cables, and off you go! Everything should be this easy.....

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars very disappointing.......2007-12-31

Would not buy this product again. If you have any problem with a sanyo product, you will NEVER get service from this company. After 2 weeks of sending meails and several hours of calling every Sanyo customer service number I could find online, I just gave up. You will only get voice-prompts, circular loops, and deaed-end messages. DON'T BUY SANYO

2 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled.......2007-12-27

Don't be fooled by the claims of this product. The camera itself is of decent quality from the mechanical perspective. But the image quality is mediocore at best. Sure its HD "resolution", but the image "quality" is no where near even the worst HD televisions. I would put the quality on par with that of a camera phone. It does have boatloads of features, but that doesn't make up for image quality. With so many features packed into such a small camera, something had to be sacrificed. One of its biggest features, its size and weight, actually can be a liability. Being so small, I found it hard to eliminate camera shake, even with digital camera shake reduction enabled.
But, by far the biggest problem with this device, is not the camera. Its the software. For me, I needed a way to get the videos offloaded to dvds. Which I would think would be a common desire. The package included a Ulead DVD creator software package. Everything installed easily enough. But the execution was absurd. I had a simple 10 minute video that I used as a test case. It took 5 hours to build the dvd image!!! Keep in mind that didn't include burning the actual disk. At the end of the 5 hour period it then attempted to burn the image to DVD, and crashed. I tried this numerous times with the smae result. I even downloaded a different application from teh same vendor with similar results. I also tried other video durations. It appaered that the time was linear. In other words, if I actually had a 100 minute video, it would have taken 50 Hours to created the image. IMPORTANT NOTE- Sanyo doesn't support the software they provide. They direct you to Corel who makes the ulead software. They in turn won't support you directly. You are forced to go through free email support, since Sanyo, buys the pacakages in bulk, and corel doesn't make enough money to pay for premium support. Had I purchased directly through them, they would have let me talk to someone directly. Either way, the problem was not resolved. The bottom line is that if you plan to burn to dvd via a pc, you will need a screaming machine, top of the line, desktop, with gigs of ram, and a fast hard drive. I was using a top of the line ibm laptop, and it bearly crawled. This technology is not ready for primetime. If DVDs aren't a need for you, and true HD image quality isn't an issue, then this camera may be suitable. Just think through your real world video processing needs prior to buying the camera.

4 out of 5 stars The best cam I've ever owned because it actually gets used.......2007-12-27

After owning and returning the Sanyo Xacti HD700 I'm pleased to say that after 1 month with the HD1000, I love it. The model is far from perfect but it's the smallest 1080i camcorder on the market and truly jacket pocketable. Here are the major points for/against:

1. No optical image stabilization included. EIS just doesn't do as good a job and with a small cam any movement is exaggerated more so than with a big cam. This can be partially overcome by practicing good technique - learn how to hold your arms at your side and pan and breathe slowly. I use the analogy of skiing - many people complained that shape skiis helped poor skiers ski better than they were capable of on conventional skiis. With a cam this small and no optical IS, good technique is everything. I've also found that when possible, mounting and holding on a monopod (my cheap version of SteadyCam) greatly reduces hand shake. Shooting 720p at 60fps is amazing as there's very little jitter (jagged lines on screen) if you pan too quickly - not the case when using 30fps or slower.

2. Autofocus hunts around a lot and isn't as quick as Canon/Sony/Panasonic models. This took a while to get used to, using the manual focus and focus lock along with spot focus helps. This is my biggest complaint and I hope a future firmware update will alleviate.

3. As mentioned by many, it's an average low-light performer; not recommended if all you do is shoot indoors. There's also the problem that the wide angle part of the lens isn't that wide so shooting indoors is problematic.

4. HD quality is great, but it's not Discovery channel HD. Don't buy into the HD hype that a sub-$1000 cam can beat $5000+ cams. Given the size of the cam the quality is amazing - watching on a computer monitor doesn't do it justice. I HDMI outputted to to a 46" Sony Bravia LCD and all I can say is WOW. Once you've seen HD you can't go back to SD. Sure there are cams like the Canon HV20 that give better image quality at about the same price, but as of this writing, no cam that is pocketable. Furthermore in bright daylight, the HD quality holds its own against any consumer HD cam - the only people who will vehemently disagree are pixel peepers - the rest of us sitting 6ft or more back from the LCD screen can't tell the difference.

5. Photo quality is not as capable as similar small point and shoot cameras. But, given the size of this cam, I have room in the other pocket to carry my trusted Canon PowerShot SD870. In bright light the HD1000 photo quality is very good, but just don't expect it to beat a dedicated point and shoot. Keep in mind I'm a semi-pro photographer so I place a lot of emphasis on still image quality.

6. Very little MP4 file support in current video editing software. I've found that with tape I used to tape for 10-30min at a time. With digital MP4 I learn to shoot in spurts, 2min here, 1min there, 4min etc rather than trying to get the entire event without pausing. This makes it easier to watch short clips later and join together in editing. The cam also allows minor editing so I trim out bits I don't like before I download the MP4 files off the SD card.

7. Problem of workflow and what to do with all those MP4 video files; can't easily store away like tape archives. Be prepared to start buying external hard drives and doing regular backups. With tape, you'd fill the tape, transfer to computer to do any editing and then store the tape. With SD card, it's too expensive to keep buying them so the files are best offloaded to external hard drives, which are then backed up to DVD or another external hard drive.

8. It looks like a gun, even the Sanyo manual warns of potential of misunderstanding. Be careful of whipping out the HD1000 at night or pointing at anyone too quickly, especially in countries with relaxed gun laws :) The pistol grip design does take getting used to but I find it more comfortable now to hold than conventional cams - the other reason being I don't tape for an hour at a time but small segments.

9. Plastic lens cap isn't attached to cam (or built-in retractable) and easy to lose. Get a UV filter for the lens. Since this cam will probably live in your pocket and get used a lot it's quite easy to scratch the lens.

10. 1080i video requires latest modern Core2Duo computers to playback. My Mac can't play the 1080i but there are some codec workarounds until Apple fixes Quicktime. Windows users have more codec options but it is still taxing on the PC. Be warned, if you don't have the latest and greatest PC you're not going to be watching videos smoothly or doing any editing.

Whereas the mantra in real estate is location, location, location, for the consumer camcorder segment, it'd suggest size is everything. I recently sold my Panasonic PVGS500 which was a top performer in the consumer SD cam line. One of the reasons I sold that cam and didn't buy the comparably sized Canon HV20 was that I rarely brought the cam with me. It was too big and required its own carrying bag. It's like the guy who owns the Ferrari but never drives it because he worries it will be dirty or scratched. The HD1000 comes with me everywhere and is instant on! Previously there were so many missed moments that many times it was easier to film with my Canon point and shoot camera. BUT, there is no comparison in HD video quality once you've seen the HD1000 in action.

The HD1000 won't live in your pant pocket - too thick - but it fits perfectly in any jacket pocket. The HD700 was more pant pocketable but the video quality and performance just doesn't compare and even at $300 I'd hesitate ... yes the HD1000 is just that good! The sweet spot for me is filming in 720p and 60fps mode. 60fps is quick enough to capture most objects in motion smoothly and fluidly. 1080i gives slightly more detail, but the file size is also larger. Until video editing software catches up I'd suggest keeping the HD1000 at 720p/60fps.

The ability to playback the movies directly connected to the dock and external hard drive (Xacti File Library) is also a nice touch until BluRay or HD format DVD's become commonplace.

In conclusion, the HD1000 was one of my top useful gadget purchases of 2007 and one that is likely to be used weekly rather than living in my desk drawer.

4 out of 5 stars Life in HD........2007-12-07

Pre-ordered this one for for Halloween and the holidays and initially I was disappointed in its clarity in low light conditions. Nothing I've tried will greatly improve filming in low light conditions. Filming in normal to sunny light does produce amazing video. Which brings me another downside, the video files are currently a hassle to work with. Unless you have a top end PC with the appropriate software these files wont play. Play back from the camcorder itself is flawless. Despite the downsides I would still purchase it again, its very small and easy to use.

4 out of 5 stars Fantastic at 1440/60fps, mediocre at 1080i.......2007-12-06

Initially, I had purchased the Xacti HD2, basing the purchase off reviews from Amazon. Boy, what a let down. Awful HD picture quality: muddied lows, over-exagerated highlights, FisherPrice-like compression. Yet, the SD (standard definition) quality was spot-on. Seeing as I was looking for HD, though, I returned it and began reading reviews for the HD1000; initally I was wary that Sanyo would offer up the same shortcomings as it had with the HD2. Not to worry. Sanyo has done its job and then some with the HD1000 ... so long as you keep the camera in 1440/60fps mode.

Low light produces only a little more noise than one would expect with most other cameras on the market right now, and in daylight this camera outputs some of the most beautiful footage I've seen from a consumer-grade HD camera. Do yourself a favor when you get this camera, and set aside the bucks for at least an 8GB HCSD card. Anything less ain't worth it.

Just like with the HD2, stay away from the camera's highest setting, and you'll be impressed with the results. Well worth the price.

UPDATE: As of December 18, 2007, this camera is sold cheaper than the HD2 on Amazon. PLEASE do yourself a favor, save some money, and get this above the HD2. You'll thank all of the good reviews for the HD1000 later.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good choice.......2007-12-18

Bought this as a gift for my dad. The price was very good and Midland quality is excellent. Its a nice compact setup with all the basic options you should need. The only complaint is I wish it would be offered as a set with an antenna. Which I purchased seperately at Radio shack.

4 out of 5 stars cb radio.......2007-12-08

this is a very good radio, espically for the money, installs almost anywhere, and the inline fuse that comes with it a nice add on. finding appropriate wiring for the antenna can be challanging if your local radio shack is umm...full of very "helpful" people... but its not hard... highly recomended

5 out of 5 stars Great cheap cb radio!.......2007-11-19

This is the best cb radio for your value. This rivals the cheaper cb units in the 60-70 dollar range. The RF gain is not found on other units until you get to the $100 range. It is nice and compact and has pretty good volume output from the internal speaker. The only thing I don't like is the channel selector knob. The knob is not very fine tuned. Sometimes I hit it and it just starts going through all of hte channels like a scan but its not. But, you learn to deal with it and after awhile I know how it is and it works fine. Otherwise it is a great cb radio.

Remember though, the antenna and ground plane make most of the difference in range, the mic in clarity, and the radio is just a vessel. Plus a good swr tune does wonders as well.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Works! 'Nuff said,.......2007-12-31

I have a pair of units now and am quite satisfied. The units are in buildings separated by a few hundred feet and the audio is quite clear. After looking for something that actually worked, was wireless and didn't sound like the intercom at a McDonald's drive-through, I finally found it. A few things kept me from giving this 5 stars: I'd rather have continuous volume control instead of 4 preset levels and the beep that occurs when you press the talk button clips off your first words if you don't pause and is annoying. However, the units work well and I recommend them.

4 out of 5 stars Shop communications.......2007-12-30

We purchased the Reporter wireless intercom to communicate between our home and an adjacent shop building. This was an excellent choice for us, as it works from any room in our house to the shop. Our only issue is the overdriven sound levels, even with the volume turned down.

5 out of 5 stars Reporters are the best .. excellent design and quality!.......2007-12-18

These units work flawlessly without interference. They are dependable and crystal clear, day and night difference compared to other intercoms. I had previously purchased a set of Westinghouse intercoms (which send signals over home electrical wires) based on reviews I read for Westinghouse, but those units were very poor in reliability and sound. These Reporters use AA batteries which last for a very long time and have the side benefit of portability. I am very, very pleased with these Reporters. Highly recommended!!!

I write this review based on my personal experience with Reporters and Westinghouse units, the latter was nothing but hair-pulling frustration while the former is nothing but bliss. In regards to the other reviews, yes there is a loud beep when adjusting volume or sending a message, but this is by design as it alerts your recipients that a message is about to follow (like a 'paging all units' alarm). The Westinghouse units just sounded like an electrical click or sometimes like a powerline turned on when you send a message. Also, some people have complained about Reporter units not transmitting well or cutting off voices... now, in regards to transmission, I have had no trouble transmitting in a 3000sq ft home from corner to corner 3 floors apart, and the only thing I can think of recommending here is to purchase the Reporters from a reputable dealer like Amazon or Buy.com rather than from a third-party marketplace dealer (I have had my share of frustrations with one of the sellers even on this listing). Regarding the cutoff of voices, I can imagine that this may be the result of not holding down the transmit button while speaking, like you press the button momentarily and start speaking, but then let go before you are done talking. My 4 year old had initially had this problem when she tried to talk to me and of course her voice got cut off because she wasn't holding down the transmit button, but once she got it, no problems since.

Again, I highly recommend these Reporters to anyone in need of a portable, reliable communications system for the home to obviate any need of yelling/screaming.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product.......2007-11-06

Great Item I use it constantly have a big house and 3 kids so this comes in handy for me. I would definately recommend it has a lot of great features it can learn to communicate with other units of the same type and voice ativated (with setting enabled)

Over all a good product.

1 out of 5 stars Couldn't get it to work.......2007-09-05

Very good product. Good value for money.
Everything delivered on time and in perfect conditions, as agreed at the moment of the purchase.

5 out of 5 stars Great for the price.......2007-12-12

Projectors are moving so fast today that it imo is not worth buying a pj over $2000. The Optoma HD70 at $1000 is an excellent deal.

After a quick calibration the picture looks vivid and natural. Excellent black levels, great flesh tones...simply beautiful. I'm running about 80" from 10' away and I've been enjoying it a great deal.

It's not loud, even though it's literally 3' from my ears. It's easy to use, easy to set up...there's not much more I want.

The only thing I wish it did have was lens shift, but it's hard to find that in a DLP pj under $3000.

A comparable projector is the Mitsubishi HC1500

5 out of 5 stars Still blown away.......2007-11-12

I've had my HD70 about 3 months now, and I'm still blown away. I work as a projectionist in a movie theatre and I've been playing with Video Projectors for a long time and bringing them home to test. I also show 16mm and Super 8 films in my living room and nothing until now ever came close to the look of real film. I have mine mounted on the ceiling, but I do have very high old Victorian Ceilings, so the off set was not a big deal, plus the mount I bought adjusts very easily. I use about 7ft of my 9ft wide pull down screen so the full 16.9 image is about 7 x 5 feet. (I never cared for that silly salesman diagonal inches crap). Even with the bulb setting in economy and all the fancy AI Image stuff turned off, this projector just blows me away. Some one mentioned not being able to find the right screws to mount this projector, I just took the Manuel to the local True Value Hardware store and asked the guy if he had these screws. He walked over to a big wall full of fasteners and gave me exactly what I needed and told me to come back if they didn't fit. Something to be said for supporting your local Mom & Pop stores when ever you can. I also bought an HD tuner and an upscaling DVD player. Over the Air HD looks fantastic. I watched most of the World Series in Hi Def this year. I can't imagine what 1080p looks like. Oh and yes, the beginning of Star Wars III is the closest we can get to the pure digital signal on regular DVD so far, and it is amazing on this projector. It's a great sequence to show off your machinery. One thing I might mention... when you blow up an image this big, you are going to see the imperfections of lesser resolutions. For instance, Broadcast HD is still working out the bugs, and so you will hear changes in Volume and see changes in Resolution you won't see on regular TV because they are still working out the bugs. It's not your Projector or your sound system, it's the Broadcast, and I'm talking about NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX and PBS etc. You'll also notice the resolution changes much more on this huge image compared to a regular HDTV. It's just so much bigger, you're going to see it. We took my machine over to another film buffs home and tried it on his 12ft wide screen and it looked a little dim, but we forgot we still had the bulb set on economy. A 7ft wide screen is still really big for the average living room and it looks terrific at that size. Oh, one more thing I noticed, speaking of Star Wars. I was looking at the DVD of Return of the Jedi and it looked really fake and dated, but the others, New Hope and Empire didn't, so I don't know what George did wrong there, but all the filmed matte shots looked obvious and had black seams around them. Very noticeable on the big screen. I look forward to seeing my favorite films on HD or Blue Ray someday, but I'll wait until one of them dies before I go nuts. I have walls of Beta Tapes and nothing to play them on as it is...

5 out of 5 stars Calibrates to outstanding picture.......2007-11-10

I previously owned an Optoma H31 and was extremely happy with it to the point that I just didn't need to gawk at the plasmas and LCD widescreen TV's at Bestbuy anymore. I was hoping for a modest upgrade with the HD70 since it cost me about the same to sell my H31 and upgrade as it does to simply buy a new bulb for it.

When I first hooked up and viewed the HD70 on a white screen, I was impressed with the 1280x720 picture. It made my computer feed perfectly viewable and pleasant to look at. With the H31 I had to view the screen in 480p to get a sharp and readable display. But this kind of resolution makes the icons huge and very little can fit on the screen. HD through Vista Media Center looks much better as well.

What really makes this projector outstanding is when you pair it with a nice upconverting DVD player (I can't speak for HD players, I don't have one). I have the Oppo 970-HD. I set the output to 720p upconversion. Then, you need to spend a little bit of time calibrating the signal. You don't HAVE to buy Avia. For now, what I did was go on a forum online where users post their own settings. I did this and then fine-tuned. One thing that really brings out the oustanding potential of this projector is to turn the color down so that the picture (especially the fleshtones) look natural, not overly sunburned. Then, I turned up the Brilliant Color to a brightness that wasn't too unnatural looking. Sharpness is at max as well.

The results are outstanding if you are patient after some minor calibrating!! I can only imagine what professional calibration would look like!

5 out of 5 stars AWESOME.......2007-11-08

I love it. I have it in a basement in which all windows face north, so there is very little ambient light. I do not know how it would do in a lit-up room, but in the darkness, it is just plain awesome. My wife loves it, too. I have a 92" pull-down wide-screen with no fancy things like gain (whatever that is) and it works fine.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Fang Review.......2008-01-01

I was a little leary about trying this product sight unseen, but I've got to say how impressed I am by the Fang Gamepad. It's very high quality construction will last a long time. The keys are comfortable and responsive. The only complaint I would have is that the drivers that come with the gamepad will not auto update, but it was a simple matter to go the their homepage and download the most current drivers. I mainly use this pad for MMORPGs and it's been an awsome addition to my gameplay.

5 out of 5 stars You CAN PROGRAM The Keys.......2007-12-29

This is a case where Amazon's review system is not working well - or at least, what it is giving the most prominence to is out of date. When I go to the customer review page, what is currently listed as "the most helpful critical review" is 100% lying to you about The Fang product you'd be buying - it is indeed now fully programmable. There are also several other older (year+) reviews listed prominently (on the first page) stating it's not programmable.

It is programmable on a key-by-key basis, and has been for about a year now. You can whip up all the personally customized key profiles you want.

On the product itself, where the ring, middle and index finger rest in the center - there is nothing better. It's not perfect, but it is far better in that area than anything else being sold right now.

The Fang is weak in the thumb area, this is it's main drawback. The Merc Keyboard (a Fang and keyboard merged) looks like it keeps what is good about the Fang and improves the thumb area substantially. For me personally, I like having a separate device from the keyboard.

2 out of 5 stars Too large and space wasted below movement keys.......2007-12-03

I tried out the Fang with Call of Duty 4 and returned it after a long weekend. My main complaint is that there are no buttons directly below the movement pad. These keys are easily accessible on a standard keyboard, but the area is wasted space here. In addition, the movement keys are oversized so you really have to reach for other buttons, especially the numbered buttons which feel a bit separated from the movement keys. The 3 keys on either side below the movement keys are nicely sized, but are too close to the palm to be easily reached with the thumb and too far down to reach with a finger. I'm a lefty, so another annoyance was that the two left side buttons are both mapped to the "n" key, essentially making one useless.

1 out of 5 stars doesn't work or randomly works- don't buy.......2007-12-03

This Product works rundomly, and most of the time doesn't. waste of money, the worst products in this category!!!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product.......2007-10-14

I did some research while trying to decide between this unit, Nostromo, or Saitek. I am right-handed, so the ambidextrous aspect of the Ideazon wasn't a big deal. The Fang had several positive reviews on various gaming websites and magazines. I have an n50, and needed a few more buttons for some of the games I enjoy (Guild Wars, various FPS's, etc.). The Fang had more buttons than the others, and the reviews sounded like they had a nice feel and placement.

Following my purchase, it has been plug and play with WinXP. No issues after a month of usage, and I'm very happy with the performance.

4 out of 5 stars Great cooler.......2007-11-09

Great for keeping your drink cool. I gave it only 4 stars as I would have loved for it to be able to cool a lukewarm drink. But it keeps the drink from producing condensation, which is great for sofa time.

4 out of 5 stars Gimmicky, but works as advertised.......2007-09-21

Many people complain that this device doesn't take a pot of boiling water and freeze it on your desk. That isn't what it is for. I like drinking cold water at my desk at work, sometimes I have the water there for a while. I figured it would be a fun thing to try. It works, keep my water cold, most definitely colder than leaving it on my desk. My only real complaint is the noise level. It is quiet, but it is designed to be sitting on a desk right next to you so the noise is more noticeable. Personally, I like the gimmicky aspect of this cooler than the actual function. It is a nice conversation piece.

4 out of 5 stars Works good, just need to find a good USB port.......2007-07-25

When I first tried this I wasn't very impressed. Condensation formed on the base plate but it wouldn't make a difference in the temp of my drink (only tried soda cans). BUT THEN I TRIED PLUGGING IT INTO ANOTHER USB PORT on my laptop one day. As soon as I did, the fan got louder and the drink got a LOT cooler. Not cold, but cool. I can keep a soda on the unit all day long and it'll maintain a nice cool chill to the beverage. I haven't tried glass yet, just soda cans, but with a good USB port you'll be happy. P.S. Like others have said, it IS a great conversation piece at work!

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing.......2007-06-13

This product doesn't cool enough. It doesn't really keep a beverage cold, let alone cool a warm one. Nice idea, but pass on this one.

1 out of 5 stars Not very cool........2007-05-31

Junk best describes this so called beverage chiller. It has not worked well on bottles, mugs, nor cans. Its best function seems to be producing condensation. Of course, according to the instructions, this is bad for the chiller and must be wiped away to prevent damage. This chiller will be joining other failed gizmos in the back of my closet.
