I bought this case so that I could see my blue iPod and its engraving. This case compliments my iPod perfectly, some people didn't even notice that the iPod had a case!! It has saved my iPod on numerous occasions from falls and dings and scratches, as well as looking elegant. Terrific protection for the entire iPod! The hard case prevents the iPod from snapping in two when it's in your jeans pocket. I definitey recommend this case for your 2nd generation iPod over any others.
Does not work with iPod Nano 4GB!.......2007-12-05
This case would not close with my nano 4GB. The spec should clearly state that it is only intended to work with thinner ipods.
A quick fix for ipods that rattle in this case..........2007-11-17
I read a lot of reviews of people complaining that the case is slightly too large for the ipod and therefore the ipod rattles in the case. Here's an easy fix for this if you aren't using the carabiner clip:
When you put the little plastic tab into the top of the front half of the case to block the hole the carabiner was to use, don't push the tab in all the way. Push it in far enough so it doesn't fall out, but don't push it in till it's flat with the top of the case. Then put your ipod in, you might have to force it in gently, because the little plastic tab will be a bit in the way. For the record, this has not scratched the top of my ipod and I have taken it in and out many times. Now your ipod is secure and will not rattle because the little plastic tab is jammed right along its' top and holds it firmly in place.
Hope this helps those of you who have this problem. I think the case is fantastic, I love that it's clear and thin, it looks stylish, feels good in the hand, and yes, it does get scratched - but it keeps my ipod looking as new as the day I bought it.
The case that can't keep up.......2007-11-15
I always wondered why users would house their iPod in cases that hide the color, are often at least as big as the iPod itself, and that scuff the iPod anyway while it is in the case. For this reason, I didn't use one with my red 8GB nano, and for 3 months I wrapped the headphones around the case and kept it in my coat pocket. A month ago, my coat got stepped on, and the earbuds dented the back of the casing, stopping the screen from displaying data. I spoke to a Genius, who recommended an acrylic case to protect my new refurbished iPod. So I looked for the smallest one that still showed the color of the iPod, and purchased the Belkin F8Z130. The first thing I noticed was that there was extra room in the housing, which means that over time the inside of the case would rub on the outside of my iPod. I had seen this happen on a friends iPod. The Belkin case looked nice and clear right out of the box, and the clickwheel covering worked well, although often I hit the center button when trying to pause. Also, the hold switch is somewhat difficult to reach. As others have said, the case allows for only stock Apple headphones (without modification). After using the case for 2 weeks (usually keeping it in my coat pocket), the front of the case is so scratched up with tiny scratches that it is difficult to read the screen through the case. For comparison, the actual screen (and casing) on my crushed iPod had NO scratches on it after 3 months, even after the earbuds dented the back. I got slightly less than what I expected from this case--better protection from crushing at the cost of being twice as thick, slightly more difficult to use, and much less pretty.

Used this case for ~6 months, no complains. Looks pretty and works with my connectors. I like the key ring as well. Good buy.

Just what you need for your ipod nano 2nd generation.......2007-11-24
This case fits my 8gb ipod nano like a glove. It is easy to open and close The click wheel protector works fine if you install it properly. The belt clip holds my ipod securely whether I clip it to an armband, waistband or jacket pocket. I am an avid runner. In the last 8 months I have run over 700 miles both indoors and out, and have not had any problem with the belt clip coming loose and my ipod falling to the ground. That only happens when I unclip my ipod in the middle of running to change songs, and then without stopping am careless in replacing the belt clip.
This case takes lots of abuse. I have dropped it in the parking lot(with my ipod in it of course), dropped it on the sidewalk, dropped it on the dirt paths in the parks where I run, and scratched it with my car keys when I jammed everything into one of my pockets. Through it all my ipod remains unscathed.
In fact I recently bought another case because my last case had so many scratches after a year of abuse that it looked like a mess. Of course my ipod still looks brand new.
One final point. I use the Motorola S9 bluetooth headset with a wireless adaptor so that I can listen to my ipod without wires dangling while I run. Although the adaptor does not sit completely flush in the charging socket of the case(because of the two little plastic tabs around the earphone jack), it fits well enough to work and not fall out while I run.

Your long & stressful search for the ideal hard, clear protective case for your new Nano 2nd generation ends here! I searched for a case for weeks on the internet, and all I found was crap. I even purchased crap! I came to realize you definitely get what you pay for. Even though this case is $20 (bought from Amazon directly), it is well worth the money! It snaps together tightly so you never have to worry about the iPod falling out. The metal belt clip also attaches securely (no floppiness!) and this was one of the main features I was looking for in a case. I hate those armbands! All the Nano ports/buttons are exposed on the case, so you never have to worry about opening & closing the case constantly. With the exception of the thin rubber click-wheel protector (which you don't have to use), I love EVERYTHING about this product. Contour Design has developed a great line of cases in their "iSee" series and I am so happy I stumbled upon this model! (version 2) BUY IT NOW!!!!

I bought a 2nd Gen 4GB ipod in pink. I specifically wanted a clear case to protect the ipod but not hide the color. This is a great case. It was a little difficult to open but fits the ipod perfectly.
Belt Clip Middling.......2007-07-10
As far as the case itself - great. As mentioned before, it fits tightly and protects the iPod's iSurface well. A great case if you want to stick the iPod in your pocket and get on with your iLife. My iBeef is with the belt clip.
The belt clip is centered on the case, meaning that it is also centered on the iPod. Unlike Contour Design's belt clip for the first generation Nano, the clip is only about an inch long. This means that the iPod can see-saw when clipped to the belt. Not an issue if you are stampeding around with the rest of the iFlock, but if you are a runner or avid weightlifter (necessitating frequent ups and downs), the iPod might fall off.
Also, the case extends a bit too far beyond the earphone iJack. I have to re-seat the earphone connector from time to time because of this. Maybe other earphones don't have this problem; iWouldn't know.
Exactly what I was looking for!.......2007-03-28
I tried a few cases before I found this one. I wanted a nice, hard case that included click-wheel protection as well as a detachable belt clip. This one fit the bill nicely! Unlike with the silicone covers, this nice hard case doesn't pickup lint. It looks great, keeps dirt off the click wheel, and as an extra bonus, has a removeable port cover for the docking connector. You can even leave the cover on while headphones are plugged in! The belt clip is also very nice. I appreciate that it is made of metal -- not cheap plastic like so many have. The clip is completely removeable, and can be attached vertically or horizontally, so you can wear the iPod however you like. The only downside (and the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5) I've found is that you can't put the iPod in a dock while it's in the case (maybe it depends on the dock), but that wasn't a big deal for me.

good case, screen scratches very easily.......2007-09-11
I really like this case, it fits nice on the nano. I like that the wheel is covered but is still very accessible. I also like that it is made of the rubbery i-skin material, but the front is covered by a protective hard plastic piece. My only complaint is that the screen scratches very easily so my screen now looks blurry. But I guess its better than the i-pod screen being scratched so this case does its job.
I would recommend this product to others. It is better than most of the cases that I have seen.
The Best iPod Case Around.......2007-07-09
There is no iPod case more well-rounded than this one. Sure, it may not protect it as much as a hard plastic case, but those are bulky and ugly. This case is a rubber cover that slides right over the Nano, making it unnoticably bigger. It is as if it doesn't even have a case. This cover is sleek and looks good, and it keeps dust out and covers every area of the iPod except the needed areas (plugs on the bottom and hold button on the top). The Nano is practically unchanged. The cover is only about 3 millimeters thick, protecting it and keeping it small. The rubber surface prevents me from dropping it. Great product.

The kids bought me one of these for Father's Day. Very plesantly surprised. The case is as described. Secures and protects the nano from knocks, bangs, dust and sand... mine came with a laynary that attaches directly to the iPod via the usb connector so you can wear it around your neck, or use the attached belt clip (which I wish was detachable from the iSkin.) All in all, a good buy and I would highly recommend it!

It is not perfect but it does the job. I like the way I know the skin is protecting it plus I got to keep the same color that I ordered my nano in, red. it makes it a bit bulkier but it is worth it to be able to clip it anywhere.

My Nano fits perfectly in the clear case. There are cutouts where necessary, which includes the headphone jack, hold switch, dock connector port & click wheel. It's very easy to connect to the iPod Gen 2 nano, and will click in very well. Highly recommended.
Kinda disappointed.......2007-04-12
I guess it's a good product...it fits my ipod pretty well, but I was really disappointed when I opened it. It looks nothing like the one in the picture, the lanyard is completely different (and tacky/ugly/cheap-looking, in my opinion). Plus, it doesn't protect the click wheel at all and the belt loop in the back is completely open for dust, etc. Oh well...I'm not dissatisfied enough to do anything about it.
