Philips VOIP8411b/37.......2008-01-02
I really enjoy using this phone for both my landline & skype. The main reasons I chose Philips VOIP8411b/37 (VOIP841) over Netgear, Linksys and other Philips phones are DECT 6.0, Dual Mode, Skype, PC-Free, Price $, Black & Sleek. It is very user friendly. I keep my skype signed-in all the time ever since I connected/hooked-up the phone (1 week ago). I may look into purchasing an additional handset and set it up as an extension. But the current set up is awesome with my original Panasonic phones. Some reviewer mention not being able to conference call; very true. I wish it had that feature; that's a reason that I haven't purchased another handset. I left my Panasonic for landline conference calls between the handsets. I gave it 4 Stars because it met my basic needs. But this unit have some room for improvements like the Netgear & Linksys.
super sound quality.......2008-01-02
You will be Happy with this product, it's so easy and I can't tell the difference between land line/internet calls, on sound. Instead of paying 29.00 a month for basic land line and no extras or long distance. I now spend around $7.50 a month with Skype and get all the long distance to US & Canada and caller ID and Caller Block and even more features at no extra charge that's savings of 325 %. Why would anyone want to keep a land line. Three of my neighbors have now switched and are happily saving lots of Money.
skype phone.......2007-12-31
this phone only works when you call out; sometimes when a person has had an old cordless phone calls, there is an annoying echo; and the phone only rings once. It is great to use after my computer is shut down; I can still use skype; it needs to have a better system for audio; the volume is not loud at all and if there is echoing, forget hearing anything; the worst is that I bought it and opened the package; the buyer would not take it back because I thought it was defective; I would have to send a brand new phone to the manufacturer instead of getting a refund for a not so good product. very disappointed in both product and the seller. Now I am stuck with an expensive phone that works some of the time.
Perfect!.......2007-12-31
I ordered this phone and got it 2 days later. I was a little worried about how I would go about connecting it and setting everything up to work properly. I had read in other reviews that some people had to upgrade their phone to the latest firmware. Well, amazon/philips must have been reading the reviews too, because my phone arrived with the latest firmware already installed.
Setup was a breeze. I plugged the phone's base into the ethernet jack of my Westell 327w wireless modem/router from Verizon DSL. Without installing any software or having to change any settings, I was able to login to my Skype account through the phone and complete a phone call. I was really impressed at how easy everything was. I only hooked it up to my router; I didn't bother to add the telephone line to it since I have a separate landline anyway. I mainly use this to make international calls (much cheaper rates than phone company) and to call other Skype users (which is totally free). I am considering buying a couple more of these phones and sending them to family in other countries so we can call Skype-to-Skype for totally free.
If you're considering it, the bottom line is, I think this is an excellent deal at $99 and pays for itself in a short time with the money you'll save.
Just what I was looking for!.......2007-12-29
I was looking for a phone to "untether" me from the computer while using Skype, and I'm quite impressed! Simplistic to use and operate and the hands-free feature is excellent.
Installation was not flawless, however. When I set up the phone, I was unable to hear or speak to the person I called. I went to the Philips website, and they said that if you encounter this situation you should download the latest firmware update. I did this (quite simple actually) and the phone has worked flawlessly ever since. So much that I still gave the phone five stars despite the rocky start.

digital phone.......2007-10-31
This phone seems to be just fine. I needed an extra handset for a phone I purchased awhile ago. Programmed it to the main phone and it is ready set go!
GE Interference Free Phone.......2007-10-22
This is the phone to have if you want interference free talking. It does not interfere with my wireless internet and you can be on more than 1 at a time. Very clear sound and trouble free.
Works Great.......2007-10-10
Purchased to add on to an existing system. Works great. Easy set-up. Gets on the existing system with no problems; "do not disturb" works across the system, intercomm works fine, etc.
not for senior citizens.......2007-09-26
Lots of nice features on this phone with an excellent price. But the volume is much too low, even when turned up to the max, especially for us older folks who don't hear very well. We are constantly asking our callers to speak up. We just cannot use these phones. Anyone want to buy them?
good intercom.......2007-09-24
I like the phone system (you need to have a base set); my only problem is that I have to press the talk button twice to fully hang up and I frequently forget to so, so the call doesn't totally disconnect for a while. The intercom feature works well and we use it a lot because we have a large house. I can make a call with it from at least 30 yards away from the house. All in all, I think it's worth the price.

Customer Reviews:
I Returned This Phone System.......2007-12-31
The graphics are lots of fun and my kids loved the intercom. However, the call waiting does not work at all. You have to hang up on the first call to take the second call. And I couldn't get the message light to work on any of the three handsets I had to let me know that I had received a voicemail message. These are basic functions that an expensive system like this should handle well. I also fund the system to be over complicated. Too many steps to review the call log, add phone numbers to the stored list, etc.
Upgrading system.......2007-11-01
This is a nice upgrade from the 4210 system. Lightweight with similar functions. One function that appears to have been dropped is a setting to mute the rinnger during specific hours (e.g. sleep time). Also my favorite rinnger sound was dropped. Setting up the ringer directory is much easier with Caller ID. If this is your first Siemens, read the manual for the first few weeks! That will help you understand all the functions.
Excellent product..........2007-10-05
This is an excellent product. Performance is exemplary in every regard. The ring selection is broad, ranging from several non-intrusive ringers to a few very agressive ringers. The menu system is mildly counterintuitive but set-up is easy; I had my system with a spare handset working within 2 minutes of unpacking. Sound is excellent and the headphone jack is well-situated and works well. Range is good to excellent.
Crystal clear.......2007-09-09
I was fed up with terrible reception on my cordless phone and heard that these Siemens had great audio quality with no interference. That is absolutely true - I cannot recommend them enough. Look pretty too.
Terrible features.......2007-08-31
Try getting a list of folks who called, its impossible. The memory gets full for caller ID gets full ( very quickly) and doesn't let callers leave messages on the machine..very disappointed with the Siemen engineers, what were they thinking!

Helpful beep.......2007-10-23
One feature, essential to me, has not been mentioned by other reviewers. Uniden seems to be the only phone manufacturer that provides an audible beep to alert the user to waiting messages. I seem to be incapable of noticing a blinking light or other visual message waiting alert, so I stick to Uniden. The only way a buyer can find out about this feature is to download and read the owner's manual at the Uniden site. It is not called out in the printing on the box or any other prominent place.
Terrific range! Short on features........2007-10-09
I bought these phones (the base and 4 additional handsets) because we live in a large home and none of the other phone I have owned could offer good reception in all areas of our house. This phone has terrific range! I can even walk outside and down the sidewalk in front of our house without losing the call.
The Dect 6.0 technology sound is crisp and clear with no crackling or hissing whatsoever. There is no interference with my other phone-line or the wireless internet.
The phones have an intercom feature which we use quite often. The phonebook share feature is nice also, although how to transfer the phonebook to each handset is time consuming and not intuitive.
My main complaint with these phones is the lack of fetures. There is no headphone jack - although there is a speakerphone option. The ringtones are limited and there is no way to download additional ones. The ringer volume is very low so when there is music playing or the TV is on we often don't hear the phone ringing if it is not right next to us. There is no vibrate feature and you can't just pick up another handset to take a call that someone else has answered... it must be "transferred" to your handset by the answerer. Again.... not intuitive. The up-side to that is that you can be sure no one else in the house is listening in on your conversation!
I like the phones but wish more features were available such as a color display with downloadable picture and ringtone options. I also like the ability to record a "voice" ringtone. Our old phones (V-tech) offered this feature and it was very nice to be able to know who was calling without getting up to look at the phone.
I'd also like a headphone jack. There are times when I am working around the house and would like to talk on the phone but need my hands free. Speakerphone is ok... but I prefer the ability to move around without having to make sure I can be heard from across the room when shouting to a speakerphone.
This is a great bare-bones phone system with terrific range and clarity.
Good phone, not perfect........2007-08-10
I have four of the Uniden DCX 100 handsets scattered around my house and overall I'm very pleased with them. Good range, sound quality, battery life and general durability (they have survived several drops without damage). The biggest complaint with these phones is that their menus and features are not intuitive. The most glaring problem, as others have noted, is that in the middle of a call, another person cannot just pick up another handset and press the Talk button to join the conversation. Instead you have to go through a clunky process of "transferring" the call to the other handset with a series of button presses. After several months of owning these phones, my wife still doesn't remember how to do it. I hope the dimwit at Uniden who engineered it that way has been appropriately flogged.
Uniden Gets It Right.......2007-04-21
Please note that the DCX 1000 Accessory Handset is an ADD-ON to a Uniden multi-handset phone system and requires the purchase of a base unit to function. The text below refers to Uniden's new DECT6.0 systems.
With its DECT6.0 phone systems, Uniden has fixed some chronic flaws found in its previous phones, and left a few small flaws in.
THE GOOD:
* NO WIFI INTERFERENCE. This phone works well without interfering with today's (or tomorrow's) WiFi Networks
* SOUND QUALITY IS VERY GOOD, both receiving and transmitting. Uniden's microphones have been consistently horrible in the past, and I am delighted to see that they have fixed this.
* FORM FACTOR IS NICE. Not overly sleek and trendy, but not clunky at all. The most commonly used features are quick to access with only one or two button presses, with a few exceptions (see THE UGLY, below).
* GOOD RANGE. The lower frequency band of 1.9 GHz allows for a slightly greater range than the overhyped 5.8 GHz band. Works a little better through plaster walls.
* NAME YOUR HANDSET. Each handset is nameable ("Office", "Kitchen", etc.). This greatly simplifies paging and conference calling. (Despite previous statements, multi-handset calls ARE possible, but they must be initiated by the handset making the call - you can't just pick up the extension.)
THE BAD:
* NO HEADSET JACK OR BLUETOOTH. Cordless phones should have some kind of handsfree option besides a speakerphone setting, but this one doesn't. I have a dedicated cordless headset, so this was not an essential feature for me. The handset's speakerphone works okay.
* CALLER ID DOESN'T DISPLAY THE PHONEBOOK NAME. This is pretty basic these days, but Uniden still hasn't caught up. When people listed in my Phonebook call me from a cell phone, I want their NAME to display, not just WIRELESS CALLER. This is not a deal breaker, but certainly an annoying oversight.
THE UGLY:
* THE ALERT THAT WOULDN'T DIE. Despite being able to turn all the sound alerts off, the phone still makes a loud and irritating BLURRRP! when you drop it into the charging cradle. Better not drop it in the bedroom cradle while your spouse is sleeping.
* HOW DO I ...? To keep the phone sleek, some functions are a little more hidden than they should be. You will have to consult the manual to learn how to insert a pause into a phonebook number, muting requires three button presses (You CAN mute the handsets, despite previous comments), and some phone settings are only available in certain modes, not universally available through the Menu button. Examples: Sound Enhancer is only accessible WHILE you are making a call, and phonebook settings can only be made WHILE you are in the phonebook. There is a reason why another reviewer thought you couldn't have multi-handset conversations or couldn't mute the phone; you really do have to read the manual. If you don't read the manual you might think this phone has fewer features than it does. There are a limited number of REALLY HIDDEN technical features though, and dang, the phone does look good as a result.
ANSWERING MACHINE. I didn't buy a model with a built-in answering machine, so I can't speak to that feature. The manual does mention the ability to record a call in progress, though, which could be useful. (Consult your own state's laws regarding this.)
overall couldnt be happier .......2007-03-13
We have had a bunch of cordless phones over the last few years with multiple problems. We live in a neighbor hood were the homes are close together and even with a 5.8 we still had interference. The clarity is great on this phone. The speaker phone works very well. I agree that there could be more features. Still, the phone is slean and clean looking and takes up very little space. You can also turn off the automatic answering by entering your menu and looking through call settings. I would reccomend this phone to anyone looking for great clarity and ease of use.

Very Disappointed.......2007-12-20
I bought this set to replace my old Siemens set that was damaged in a fire. I was very happy with the original system, but I paid the same price for this set years after buying the first set. Usually electronics drop in price, so I figured this would be a nice set. Wrong! Has much fewer features than the original set. Overpriced for what little you get. Look elsewhere.
Review of E450 base phone with additional S45 handset.......2007-08-22
Phone clarity is good. German translation on written instructions could bear improvement. Biggest concern is why my two phones loose about 5 minutes a week of time. Awaiting response from Siemens.

KX-TGA820B is a digital cordless DECT 6.0 handset with large color LCD and hearing aid compatibility (HAC) in piano black finish.
Customer Reviews:
Great phones, but FYI : the KX-TG820B is NOT COMPATIBLE with KX-TG1032/33/34S series.......2007-12-28
I have the KX-TG1034B series phones (very similar to the KX-TG820 series except without color screen). I love the phones. Great reception. Nice design, except a few minor irritations (things could be a little slicker), but overall awesome phones.
I wanted to let shoppers know that this KX-TG820B extra handset is only compatible with the KX-TG8231/KX-TG8232B phones. It is NOT COMPATIBLE with the KX-TG1032/33/34S and 32/33/34B series phones, as the description on this site (and other internet sites) states. I found out the hard way and then talked to Panasonic to confirm. Check out their website.
Wish I could opt out of the rating and just state my message, since I don't own this series. I'm giving it 5 stars, based on the series that I own, which is the very similar Dect series that came out previous to this model.
Love these phones.......2007-12-24
My husband and I have spent years replacing phones on an as needed basis. We would always buy the bare minimum which would result in limited features, poor quality, and short life-span. I can't speak to the life span of these phones, but I do know that the phones are feature filled with intercom and retrieval of messages from any phone. These are sleek and stylish. We also like the added ringtone features that we have previously only had on our cell phones. Adding additional lines was also simple. Providing contined good performance, we will add on 2 additional lines (for a total of 6). Buy these phones if you are interested in upgrading your phone system in your home.
Great phone set!.......2007-12-19
I bought this set and the additional single phone.
It was easy to set up and the menu's easy to use.
The reception is wonderful, and it's all around computer equiptment and the microwave doesn't bother it at all.
I'm very happy with it, I'm sure you will be too.
Another great phone from Panasonic.......2007-12-18
I had anearlier version of this phone for several years. It always performed well right up to the end when the battery died.
I was pleased to see that Panasonic was selling this latest version... and I'm even more pleased with it up and running. It comes with an extension phone which I keep in the bedroom.
Highly recommended!
Dennis
Quality & Style combined.......2007-11-14
Very happy with this phone. Easy to install, uses little space, comes with some nice features like intercom, phone book, different ringtones, wallpaper... Would buy it again in a sec!

Great featues but poor sound makes a bad choice.......2007-12-28
Purchased this phone locally after researching the best options. The DECT and Skype features were very attractive. Got it home and found the sound quality unacceptable. It was difficult to hear the other party. The sound volume was low (at the highest volume setting)and flat. Hardly the warm audio I expected from GE sigma-6 organization. It's just hard to believe GE would engineer so much into the device and fail on the most basic feature. Can you hear me?
