4 out of 5 stars prompt responce .......2007-12-28

The charger never arrived on my initial order. I informed the company by email, and they were very attentive about having another one sent immediately.

5 out of 5 stars Great extra charger.......2007-12-25

Wasn' sure what I was getting even though it was suppossed to be a OEM charger.
For the price I paid w/ shipping I was sceptical. Product is OEM and works just fine !

5 out of 5 stars It Works.......2007-12-21

Bought to use with Motorola W385 phone. It the same as and works just like the unit that came with the phone. Excellent buy!

1 out of 5 stars Never Worked.......2007-12-09

As a common complaint by others, mine never worked with my Razr 3. And for the price, it wasn't worth returning it.

1 out of 5 stars Charger is really an Un-charger.......2007-12-09

Product not only fails to charge my Moto RAZR, it discharges it faster than if I didn't plug it in. Maybe there's some phone it's capable of charging properly, but not the one advertised.n Don't waste your money on this dud product.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Great device, but..........2007-12-23

I just got this and it appears to be a very high quality device. Pickup and playback are both quite good, and it is very easy to use. My only problem with it so far is that there is no apparent way to change file and folder names. There are presets for folder names that you can change to, but none of them work for me. That is going to make it more difficult to use this device as I had hoped to. However, the inability to create custom names for files and folders may not be a problem for some, in which case I think this is a very good product.

5 out of 5 stars Best Digital Recorder Ever!.......2007-12-18

I recently bought the Olympus DS-30 Digital Voice Recorder, and i am happy to say that it is one of the best purchases I have made. The microphone, along with the sensitivity settings that are built in, are able to not only pick up a lecture from the background of the lecture hall, but are able to filter out most background noise as well. The battery seems to las a really long time to, I use this recorder 4 hours a day and have not had to replace the battery yet! Alli in all, a great purchase, i would recommend this product for anyone wanting a quality recorder!

5 out of 5 stars Easy to use, especially with the software.......2007-12-13

I haven't much to say except that I purchased this device specifically for qualitative research. It does exactly what I want it to do: record interviews clearly and easily despite background noise. It was a cinch to use right out of the box, and the software that it came with was also a breeze to install and use. I used the device and software for transcription playback (as slow as 25% of normal speed) and it was great as I was able to type fast enough to keep up with what was being said. Overall I'm very pleased and intend to keep this handy for all future qualitative research I will be doing.

5 out of 5 stars The best in it's class.......2007-12-13

I have tried many different digital voice recorders in the past years. I've had everything from $40.00 Panasonics to $200.00 Sony's and this Olympus beats them all. It's small and light weight. The sound quality is fantastic not only on the PC but on the device itself.

I've done tests with and without the stereo mic installed and the quality is the same. For me, recording in stereo is not necessary.

If I had to complain about anything, and I find that hard to do, I would have to say that I wish I could delete voice files on the fly while listening to them. With the Sony I had I could hit delete while the file was playing and then hit it again to delete. The Olympus requires me to stop the playback before it will delete. Small point I know but that's the worse I found with this super recorder.

One of the nice features I found is that I can load mp3 songs and audio books and listen to them with the included stereo ear buds. Nice feature.

1 out of 5 stars No backing up to correct dictation errors.......2007-12-11

Lots of fancy features that work fine.

But I dictate long professional letters. Of course I occasionally misspeak and need to back up (a few seconds or a couple minutes) to record over my mistake -- otherwise I waste my typist's time, and I have to pay her to type stuff then erase it.

This backup and re-record feature has been standard on $50 tape dictaphones for decades.

The DS-30 can not back up and record over mistakes. You said it, you're stuck with it. I confirmed this with Olympus tech support. They suggested I buy a $450 "professional" model instead.

This is not a machine for dictating professional letters.

Eton FR300 Emergency Crank Radio Metallic Silver

Product Description

Whether you need to track emergency news, are curious about the weather forecast, or merely want to listen to the audio tracks of your favorite TV program, the Eton FR300 is a perfect fit. The crank-powered radio includes an AM/FM tuner a host of other audio options. The radio also offers such features as a built-in LED light for illumination, a flashing red emergency light, an emergency siren, as well as cell phone charger--all perfect for roadside crises. In addition, because the radio includes a wind-up generator, it'll never run out of power or batteries.

Amazon.com Product Description

When an emergency strikes, will you have the vital information you need? The Etón FR300 answers that question with a resounding yes. This sturdy AM/FM radio is built to handle the elements, as well as a power outage, thanks to a hand crank that can be used to recharge the built-in battery. Thanks to the FR300's reception of NOAA weather radio, emergency information is always close at hand when you need it, making this radio a must-have for anyone who wants to be as ready as possible for unforeseen events.

Emergency lighting, cell phone power, and radio tuning all in one compact package. View larger.

The easy-to-read radio dial. View larger.

The hand crank recharges the integrated rechargeable battery.
Design and Controls
Weighing in at just under a pound and a half, and measuring just six and a half inches across, the FR300 is light and compact enough to take anywhere. Simple, easy-to-grasp rotating knobs on the front of the device control tuning, volume, and band selection. The tuning knob also features a fine tuning control knob superimposed on the main tuning knob for extreme tuning accuracy. An analog tuning selector is clearly marked with key frequencies, making it easy to quickly tune the stations that matter most. Two switches on the front of the device control the flashlight and power supply selection.

Tuning and Bands
As mentioned, the FR300 tunes all seven NOAA weather channels, plus the all important alert channel. In addition to AM/FM tuning, you can tune into the audio from VHF television stations -- TV1 and TV2, channels two through 13.

Connections and Power
Because the FR300 is built for those times when normal power options are not available, it provides a number of options for providing the juice it needs. An AC adapter (not included) charges the built-in Ni-MH battery pack, but again, If the power is out it can be recharged using the attached hand crank. Power can also be supplied by three "AA" batteries, and if there is no battery at all in the device -- including the rechargeable battery -- the radio will operate with continuous operation of the hand crank.

Extras
The FR300's LED light system offers three emergency lights, plus a flashing beacon mode. There's also a siren for alerting emergency responders to your location, as well as a cell phone charger for keeping your other vital communications tool topped off with power. The radio includes cell phone adapter tips for charging select models of Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Sony-Ericsson, and LG phones. Note that not all manufacturers or makes are supported.

What's in the Box
FR300 radio, 5 cell phone charging adapters, carrying case, and owner's manual.

5 out of 5 stars This was a gift so I do not know how it works........2007-12-31

The shipping and delivery was on schedule. The recipient seems to like the radio, etc. but I do not know how it works since he lives in another state.

5 out of 5 stars An easy for for an info junkie when the power is out.......2007-12-22

In 2006 Seattle, and western Washington, suffered through a major windstorm. The windstorm knocked down trees and power lines resulting in mass power outages. Remote areas in western Washington were without power for weeks.

We used the Eton radio during the windstorm and the recovery period to stay in touch with the latest news. The ability to tune into the news and hear was an amazing for how isolated and disconnected we felt with every day amenities like the Internet and satellite TV.

The radio worked as advertised. We could listen to the local AM station for about 30 minutes after cranking the handle for 1 minute.

A good emergency radio is an essential piece of gear for all 72 hour kits.

5 out of 5 stars works great.......2007-12-18

Cranking for 90 seconds gives you loads of power and the radio is compact so it packs well too.
the only thing about this product that i'd change is the carry case, which is a little clumsy in design.

4 out of 5 stars Bought 3 for Christmas gifts last year.......2007-11-26

We live in Florida and I bought these for my family members in case we were out of power. We know the value of getting information immediately and these radio's give us that. Fortunately, we haven't had to use the emergency features on them this year, but that's a good thing.

5 out of 5 stars Just right for the purpose.......2007-11-15

Not sure I understand other complaints about quality of reception. Maybe its a location thing? I get better FM, AM on this small radio than on any other I own. Also good reception of TV channels and adequate reception of local weather channel. Love it! I may take it out of my disaster box and use it regularly. Besides, it's so darn cute.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Gadget Geek.......2007-12-27

The Olympus DS-40 digital voice recorder works great. It is very easy to use and make very clear recordings. It's microphone has adjustable sensitivity and can be removed for wired remote setup (though the necessary cable is not included). I bought the Olympus to record as much of my 89 year old grandfather's stories as I can and to have the recordings in a format that can be easily stored and shared. It fits this need very well.

5 out of 5 stars Good Product........2007-12-18

Good Product.
Little bit costly. Good quality of recording.
Useful for official purposes.

5 out of 5 stars DS-40 from Olympus a great recorder!.......2007-11-20

I have this recorder for 3 months now and still loving it. I just wish that it has more memory, however for the price, I'll settle for what it have and will just download more frequently. I could also use a case to protect this gem. If you are looking for a versatile recorder, this is it and Amazon.com is the place to buy it.

5 out of 5 stars Recorder for my son's schoolwork.......2007-10-18

My son is taking journalism courses and was borrowing a friends tape recorder. So he wanted a personal recorder for schoolwork and journalism work.

I purchased this Olympus based on the reviews of other Amazon customers.

These are the words from my 15 year old nanopod/computer savvy son:
"Sound quality is excellent. Simplicity of function is remarkable with out of the box useage.
Accessories and performance are exceptional"

Thank you Amazon and Olympus!

5 out of 5 stars Great versitle recorder.......2007-10-14

I've been very pleased with this recorder. I use it to record interviews in a variety of settings. It has produced excellent recordings outdoors, in moving vehicles, and in noisy restaurants. In every case it has produced clear recordings with minimal background noise - unlike some other recorders I've used where subtle background music in a hotel lobby comes across like a live symphony orchestra on the recording. I've not had the recorder long but have bounced in about pretty roughly in the field and it seems to be holding up very well. Overall, the DS-40 seems like a well built and very functional little recorder.

Amazon.com Product Description

Slim, attractive, and highly functional, the Olympus WS-100 digital voice recorder packs 64 MB of internal flash memory into its lightweight housing, letting you record up to 27 hours of audio in WMA format. It's ideal for recording notes or long lectures, interviewing sources for an upcoming article, or capturing spur-of-the-moment song ideas before they disappear into the recesses of your memory. As an added bonus, the recorder also serves as an all-purpose USB mass storage device, meaning it can store documents and images along with audio. Simply plug it into a digital camera through its USB interface and you can transfer several dozen images (depending on their size) to the flash memory, freeing up space in your camera's memory card. Then, when you return home, you can plug the recorder into a PC and switch the images to your hard drive. All this in a tiny body that measures 1.57 inches wide by 3.7 inches tall--roughly the size of a pack of gum.

File organization is straightforward and intuitive. The WS-100 boasts five separate folders capable of holding 199 files each, so you can organize nearly 1,000 files by subject, theme, or other categories. Users also have the choice of three recording modes: HQ, which minimizes background noise and is great for capturing people with low speaking voices (it offers 4 hours and 20 minutes of recording time); SP mode, which still sounds good but isn't quite as crisp (ensures 8 hours and 40 minutes of time); and LP mode, which is designed to maximize recording (27 hours and 20 minutes). And thanks to the voice activation option, users don't need to press a single button to start recording. The WS-100 will instead record as soon as the built-in microphone picks up sound.

Perhaps the most convenient feature, however, is the built-in USB connector. To transfer information to or from the WS-100 from a PC or Mac, all you need to do is remove one end of the recorder's body, which reveals a male USB plug. This USB Direct design eliminates the need for a USB cable (the male plug connects directly to your computer), making the device even more portable. Once connected, it's easy to download images, documents, and other files.

Every bit as important are the playback functions, which include fast (50 percent) and slow (25 percent) playback. And should you need to identify and quickly retrieve important sound bites, all you need to do is insert an index mark and refer to it later. Additional features include adjustable microphone sensitivity, which lets you adjust the recording level to meet your needs; an easy-to-read LCD display; the ability to erase single or entire files; and a pair of stereo earphones.

The WS-100 runs for approximately 13 hours on a single AAA battery and weighs a mere 1.9 ounces. It's also backed by a one-year warranty on parts and labor.

What's in the Box
WS-100 digital voice recorder, stereo earphones, neck strap, USB cable, one AAA battery, user's manual.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Voice playback not very good.......2007-12-14

For the price of this unit I expected better clarity in the playback mode. It sounds very scratchy. I am disappointed with it.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome for the price & quality shines.......2007-12-11

First, let me say the speaker is not for listening in a crowded room. It's small and why would you want to listen, without earphones, to something this small in loud surroundings? The speaker is fine in a quiet room.

I found the mic to be amazingly sensitive. I use the lo setting. The hi setting picks up everything. I have used it outside in my hand, inside my shirt pocket and indoors in my hand and it is simply great for recording.

I love the usb capability. That makes it so simple to grab the file and pull it onto my Mac. I use "Switch" to make the file an .mp3 file. I then load it into garageband and edit it for my podcast. I am very pleased with it.

I have recorded over an hours worth of audio at the High Quality setting and the battery is still showing full. I love this little guy. I got a refurbished one and it's great. Should have bought this a long time ago.

I will place it on the pulpit and use it to record my sermons and then upload them to our podcast. The quality is THAT good.

5 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted.......2007-11-26

This digital recorder was exactly what I wanted because of the long period of taping that it has. Also, the tonal quality is great even for a large room. I took it to church with me yesterday to try it out and it worked perfectly.

4 out of 5 stars Great little recorder.......2007-11-06

I recently bought the Olympus WS-100 to record notes while I was learning a foreign language. While I listen to CD's I wanted an easy way to record new phrases and words to review later.

The WS-100 is working out great. First, the features:

1. The unit records in high quality, standard quality and long play modes. You can get approx. 4, 8 or 27 hours of recording. I have found the standard quality to be the best compromise. While the longer record mode can be usable, the quality really drops here. I can't imagine using that mode for lectures. It's just about usable dictating right into the microphone.

2. The built in speaker is about what you would expect. Not great, but works ok if you recorded in one of the two better modes. It's a little more difficult with the low quality mode though.

3. The built in USB adapter is great. I plug into a Mac running OS X and it mounts just like a flash drive. The files are WMA though so you can't play with iTunes. You will need Windows media player or flip4mac. If you're running Windows, you will have the windows media player so you should be able to play.

4. The unit has a clock which will time stamp the files, however, you can't see the time information on the unit itself for your recordings. I have gotten in the habit of starting a recording with the date/time. Not a big deal, but it would nice if you could display this on the screen since the information is there.

5. You can't moves files between the 5 folders.

6. The quality using headphones is very good. If you use the low quality mode, it makes the recording much more usable than using the built in speaker. Keep in mind, this is not a stereo unit, although Olympus makes them.

7. I'm still on the first AAA battery after a week so I can't comment on battery life, but the reported 13 hours seems reasonable. Buy a couple NiMH batteries and you should be good.

8. There is no alarm features like some units have. I don't think I would ever use this but it's not an option.

9. The unit is very slim and easy to use. I have fairly large hands but I don't have a problem with the little buttons. I like the record button right on top. It's easy to grab and hit record even if you are in the car since you don't have to take your eyes off the road. You can then hit it again to pause or start the recording so the unit does not distract you.

Overall, a very nice recorder. I actually bought a refurb unit for about $20 less and it works great.

4 out of 5 stars Never forget another conversation.......2007-10-30

This easy to use recorder is fantastic if you're like me and wish you could replay a conversation.Sound quality is pretty good,at least through headphones-the built-in speaker is useless.Great if you have a PC-you can burn your recording to a CD(I don't know about Macs-maybe Windows for MAC would allow you to do the same).Takes so little energy,I've recorded half a dozen hour-long sessions and the battery indicator still shows full.Nice little piece of equipment!

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good companion for a bus commuter.......2007-12-11

I got this to listen to the radio on the commuter bus in Los Angeles area. FM doesn't work so well other than loud pop-rock stations, but AM is fine. The FM problem is probably because of the bus ride, since when I'm walking on the street, there's not much interference. I usually listen to AM news stations during the commute rather than music anyways, so it works for me.
It is fairly heavy on my ears, though. It doesn't bother me so much during my 30 minutes bus ride + a few minutes walk to the office, but I don't think I can work out with it.

4 out of 5 stars Almost perfect!.......2007-09-22

I have had a Sony radiowalkman for 15 years and was devastated when it broke and further devastated when I could not locate another one at any electronic outlet stores. This is perfect, lighter and slimmer than my old one. Needs only one improvement--radio presets.

4 out of 5 stars Good reception, but ..........................2007-08-04

I like the reception quality for this product, also the design for usage.
I do find it uncomfortable on my ears after a short while. Needs constant adjustment for short duration of no anoying pain.

lightweight, stays on during strenuous exercise, the analog tuning allows you to easily pick up stations (at the gym or while you're outside). This is the 2nd time I purchased this. The first pair was stolen.

5 out of 5 stars I recommend it to BlackBerry 8320 Curve Owners.......2007-12-31

I have received my DR-BT50 a couple of hours ago and here are my first impressions:
1- Paired seamlessly with my MacBook Pro running Windows XP with an Anycom USB-250 dongle; and with my BlackBerry 8320 Curve.
2- Sound quality is great, listening to songs in stereo.
3- As soon as I paired it to my Curve, a friend called overseas and I had to take the call in a hurry while I had the headset on! I heard her quite well and she understood me without any problems (I did not have a chance to ask about the quality of how I sounded...).
4- The controls on the phone (STOP; PAUSE; RW; FW) worked just fine for both the laptop running iTunes, and the Curve.
5- Everything about the headset oozes high quality and comfort.

I will leave an update if my impressions change, but so far so good. I could not find any first-hand review of DR-BT50 by a Curve owner, that's why I wanted to post this ASAP. Happy New Year's to everyone!

1/1/08 Addenda:
1- Putting the phone into its holster while listening to music does not cause any interruption;
2- You cannot listen to your videos--only your "music". This must be related to the a2dp protocol or something, rather than the headset itself...

4 out of 5 stars Bad mic.......2007-12-30

Overall it is great. It is very comfortable to wear, it has good speakers, it is easy to use, and what else can i say it is bluetooth. The one downside is the mic, evertime i call someone they can hardly understand what i am saying. They tell me it sounds muffled. I tried it on three different phones to multiple different people. But as I said before overall it is great(for listening to music).

5 out of 5 stars Simply Amazing!!.......2007-12-25

I recently upgraded to this product from the highly overrated Motorola S9 attempt at BT headphones. Two totally different products!! If you actually like to hear good quality music without skipping (i'm a recording industry major) go ahead and spend a few extra dollars for these headphones. I saw them at the Sony store for over $200... I've had zero problems with these. I can even leave my phone in the kitchen while i take the dog for a walk in the back yard with NO interuption. And i live in a city with lots of interruptions, or so the salesman that i returned the S9's to said. I read some of the other reveiws of other products and no matter what they say; these really do have long range, long battery life, both ear phone setting, and the other caller can hear clearly. Plus i got them with FREE shipping!! You cant lose. Did i mention the comfort is like cool pillows on your head.

5 out of 5 stars Very good for what its good for.......2007-12-22

This is the second pair of bluetooth headphones I have owned - the first being a set of HP headphones made for PocketPC - actually made by Logitech and purchaseable under that brand. The Logitechs had good sound and worked well, but unfortunately had some problems in their construction. I had three sets (replaced under warranty) over the course of a year and a half due to the band breaking.

I purchased these Sony DR-BT50 headphones to get a higher-quality and more durable set for use with my laptop, pocket PC, and home theatre PC. Having tested these cans for a while now, I can say that they are VERY good at what they're meant for - casual, comfortable, and fairly good quality listening.

These aren't any Grados, or Sennheisers, or even Sony's MDR-series audiophile-quality headphones, unfortuantely. The mid- and high-range is quite good, for the most part. The lows are surprisingly well-reproduced; perhaps a bit over-stressed. You can hear the headphone's heritage of the MDR-series in the frequency response range of the low end, however - they have been able to hit around 25-30Hz fairly strongly from what I can tell (very good for bluetooth phones especially). Imaging is very good. Sound staging once again isn't to the level of Grados, for example, but still very decent.

I'd say these headphones are very comparable to a $100 set of wired sennheisers (for example). What they do, they do very well. The bluetooth aspect of the phones is almost transparent (no noticable glitches, connection issues, etc.) Range is excellent.

If you aren't terribly concerned with a completely flat frequency response or looking for an incredible sound stage... but DO want an excellent set of blueooth wireless headphones - these come HIGHLY recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Comfort, Quality, Bluetooth........2007-12-19

This is my first bluetooth headphones set, and they work wonderfully! I am not an audiophile by any means, so for me comfort and usability were the primary driving forces. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily these headphones connected to my MacBook Pro, and my Motorola RAZR. Sound quality is good, and comfort is great!
I have since gone and purchased the Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for the iPod and it works seamlessly with my headphones! No more earbuds for me!

All in all, this was a good purchase for me.

5 out of 5 stars Weather Radio.......2007-12-29

This is about the 4th radio I have purchased! Have one in our house, one in our camper, and given two away as very useful gifts! They work really well, lose power and they have battery backup! Plenty of warning to be prepared for any type of storm! And I say they work really well,,,, but you have to leave it on to get the warning!!!! Means leaving it on 24-7! Have tried to convey to others,,, what good is it if you don't leave it on in auto mode???? HELLO??? Might as well not get one if it isn't left on ALL the time! It's an early warning of bad, nasty weather approaching!!The radio has not let me down!!! One of the best life saving items I ever purchased! Easy to follow directions, too!

5 out of 5 stars One Additional Feature.......2007-12-20

I would like to add one additional feature of this MIDLAND model over the others ( I have both). The MIDLAND WR100C will reset itself soon after the announcement of the watch or warning. This is a great feature if you keep your monitor in a bedroom and you are too lazy to get up and reset it to stop the talk.

4 out of 5 stars Great Weather Radio.......2007-11-11

This is a great product, and serves its purpose well. I love that it doesn't audibly sound at all for the weekly test that the NWS sends out. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wish that there was an option to make the radio just turn on when activated by the NWS instead of sounding the extremely loud alarm first, AND THEN turning on. Other than that, it is a wonderful radio, and it never fails. Great price, you can't go wrong.

2 out of 5 stars Adequate, but some aspects are annoying.......2007-10-06

Pros: This unit does everything I expected. I can hear the automated weather report, and it can be configured to listen to various weather stations. It can be used as an alarm clock. I assume it will turn on in an emergency but this is difficult to experiment with, the "test" only turns on the light, not the audio.

Cons: The design of the unit makes it so that it cannot be placed close to the wall on a table because the power supply and antenna stick out a ways. The antenna cannot be placed at all useful angles because the "elbow" is located a little bit under the plastic housing, which makes it sit even farther from the wall because it cannot be oriented straight up. It seems to take 5-10 button presses to get anything done in the menu system. For example it has an alarm clock and you have to press: menu, up, select, up, select, menu to turn on/off the alarm clock. Setting the alarm time takes quite a few more steps. If they would have added a separate alarm clock button that controlled only the alarm clock functions it could have many fewer steps to get things done. Most other functions take as many or more steps to complete. I consider myself a gadget person. I can pick up most electronic gadgets and get around without a manual. This unit is fairly useable without the manual, but fairly annoying to set up.

The single most annoying thing about this unit is the beeping when you press the buttons. It is pretty loud and cannot be adjusted or turned off. Maybe if it didn't beep so loud I wouldn't notice there were so many button presses to get things done.

Edit: Now I've had this thing for several months. I can't find a good station for it to tune into. It keeps displaying "check reception", and there aren't that many channels to choose from. Maybe it needs to be in a different location in the house.

1 out of 5 stars Read their one year warranty term.......2007-08-24

If the product failed within one year, you need to pay for the shipping fee plus $20.50 for their shipping and handling fee, to have the radio repaired for FREE. That is already $30. Over one year? A FLAT rate of $45 more for fix it! How much this radio cost? I will never buy from such a company.

3 out of 5 stars Sit close to your Computer.......2007-11-03

Headphones work great, comfortable, good sound quality, but wish the phone leads just came out of one side, another drawback, depending on whether you're are right on top of your PC or not, the overall cord length is too short, only 40" long. There are better choices out there. I have similarly priced headphones that have a 98" cord, and it comes out of only one side of the phones. I would recommend shopping around if this cord length may be an issue for you. Extension leads may be purchased, but cost almost as much as the headphones themselves! Luckily I had an old extension lead. Sorry SONY. A die hard SONY fan nevertheless.

They work, but that is about the best I can say for it. They are a poor fit to the ear and worse of all, the cord is very, very short. This is not suitable unless you can have the source very close to you, and useless if your audio jack is in the back of your computer as it won't reach.

4 out of 5 stars Great for the price........2007-09-08

Some inexpensive headphones were needed for a children's computer lab. These fit the bill perfectly. The sound quality is decent and they appear to be fairly sturdy (none broken after six weeks of kid use). For an adult, the over the head piece is a bit snug, but with a child's smaller head, they work fine.

2 out of 5 stars Sony Bargain Headphones.......2007-05-18

I understand the concept of "you get what you pay for," and I also thought that the Sony brand stood for at least a reasonable expectation of quality no matter the price. So I was very disappointed to discover that these $9.99 headphones are inferior to the ones that came with the Magnavox JogProof CD player that I purchased from Kragen Auto Parts for $15.99.

5 out of 5 stars Quite satisfactory - full bass - good clarity.......2007-04-20

Back in the 1980's I purchased an Awia portable stereo cassette player (walkman) based on it's superior sound (at least compared to others that were offered at the time). I was still using the headset that came with that stereo until a couple days ago when the left side quit. I was very satisfied with the sound as I thought it was well balanced and natural. For a replacement I wanted something that sounded similar to what I was used to hearing. Having been out of the market for 20 years, I had no idea what the new headsets were like. I tried an in the canal type headset and was disappointed in the lack of bass response (comapred to what I was used to). So I decided to try a headphone that was more like the Awia with the open speakers. Sony kept appearing as a highly regarded brand. I wasn't looking for audiophile quality - I probably can't hear that well any more anyway - I just wanted good and cheap. This Sony headset should fit the bill for me. It is a little fuller in the bass than I am used to, but the clarity is considerably better. I described my old Awia headset as being balanced and natural - like a concert hall - and not in need of an equalizer. In comparison I think I would describe this Sony headphone as full and clear, like a studio - more like listening through an enclosed headphone than an open headphone. It's not quite like my old headphones, but quite satisfactory. I think if you like a full bass response you will like this headphone set.

I don't feel as though these are going to fall off my head - actually they are quite tight and I am going to see if I can relax the headband a bit.
