Terrible Phone.......2007-12-26
The Sound quality for this phone is awful. It's too low unless you blast the volume and the static is sometimes so bad I can't hear anything else. The Caller Id produces an error more often than any cordless I've ever owned. Sometimes it doesn't save the last few numbers that called. Why that is I can't figure out. The phone is less than a year old but it has reached a point where now it makes a hum noise then dies immediately after.
Save your $20. Put it towards a nicer phone.

This phone is horrible -- the sound quality is terrible, the caller id display is extremely faint, and there is constant static that sometimes i have to hang up in the middle of a call and redial just to get rid of the noise. my cheap radioshack 900mhz phone that i've had for 4 years is waaaay better. the only plus about this GE phone is that the battery life is great.

Defective Product- TWICE.......2006-11-01
I got a defective unit, so I called Uniden customer service. I've never been treated more rudely by customer "service" in my life. They refused to help me without my home phone number (I don't give it out- that's why it's called "unlisted") and they bascially told me it was *my* fault that the phone wouldn't even power on. (even though I'd charged it for 24 hours).
Then I called the seller- what a different experience. WestCoastMall.net was professional and courteous. They quickly provided and RMA, and exchanged the unit. Unfortunately the new unit was also defective. When I called for the second RMA, they told me they'd had a very high number of these units coming back as defective. No surprise- if Uniden's QA department is run by the same folks as their Customer Service, I'm not shocked in the least.
I was really disappointed, because on paper this looks like a great product- it has all the features I wanted: small enough to wear on my belt (with a headset), but also has caller ID and speakerphone. Too bad they can't actually deliver a working product.
Short version: Stay away from Uniden.

I bought this system when it first came out and never have I spent more on a phone. I bought the DMX778 plus 2 of the satellite units. The caller ID has NEVER worked, and customer service NEVER helped. They were very adept at giving me the run-around though. The quality is so poor that whomever I am speaking with gets static. No matter how I adjust the sound, I can never hear very well either. This 2.4 GHz unit often says I have no service due to being out of range RIGHT NEAR THE BASE UNIT. The outgoing greeting on the answering system sounds fine, but all incoming messages are INAUDIBLE. I have had many Unidens and always loved them. I'll try to dig up my 900 MHz as it always worked better than this expensive system (still, these many years later). These are really pieces of poo-poo.

Wife is blind so this has been GREAT. Works everywhere - inside & out on our property and a few houses down the street. I have detected no interference with my other equipment over the last year.

I get emotionally attached to my phones. I use them all day and they take serious abuse. Inside, outside, son dropping it, me dropping it. It gets cold in the garage, it gets hot in the sun. I have had my phone for several years. I never have run the battery down to where I couldn't finish a conversation. I love the use of three different phones for one price. I like being able to page the phone from the base when I left one of the units God knows where. I have had a house under construction and running my business in the same construction zone for over three years and this phone has stood the test of time.All the features work the way they are supposed to and the range of the phone works over my entire acre property. I also love the voice caller ID as awkward as it may sound. I don't have to see the screen to know who's calling. This is especially great if you are painting and don't want your phone to be the color of the day. I have had a Panasonic phone before this one and I would certainly buy another one.

would not send me one, when I sent an e-mail. All three talks. The two
phones and the base. Everyone loved it.

The phone has great features, and we use it in our office... but never before have so many clients ask us to repeat ourselves or annunciate our words because "we sound far away". Apparently these Panasonic phones last a good three months before people start having difficulty hearing you. Everyone in the office has to yell, and frankly it is getting annoying. We are getting rid of them and buying another brand.
I don't know whether the other earlier posts are by actual customers or sales reps, but you will know what I mean in a few months.
