With a compact design and expandable functionality, the Uniden TRU9465-2 offers a range of high performance features. Call Waiting Caller ID includes a 100-station memory (with subscription to local service) that allows names and numbers to be transferred between handsets or moved into the permanent speed dial accessible. DirectLink two-way radio communication is built into each handset, allowing them to function as an in-home intercom system or baby monitor. Redial any of the last three numbers at the touch of a button, activate three-way calls or just enjoy the consistent, clear 5.8 GHz digital signal transmission.

This set includes two handsets; the system is expandable to a total of ten. You can transfer incoming calls between each handset, and make use of the convenient hands-free design by using the included belt clip and built-in headset jack (headsets available separately). Easily adjust handset and ringer volume levels to your comfort, and set the handset LCD menu to one of three menu languages (English, French, or Spanish). A page button lets you quickly locate the handset if it's strayed under the couch cushions.

The charger is wall mountable or sits sturdily on a countertop, giving you plenty of display options. Uniden provides a one-year warranty covering parts and service.

I bought it because it had a keyboard in the base station. This can be important if you leave the phones all over the house.

Very good phone, good range, good clarity, good speaker phone. Reasonable price. My only concern is that the batteries only go about 2 days until yhou have to return them to the base for a recharges.

Most of what is written here in other reviews is accurate so i will list only the gripes...

Every once in a while, it drops the call (maybe 1/50+ so not a big issue). If it happens, simply hit the speak button on the Base unit (the speaker-phone on the base is excellent, as most reviews have stated).

Forget using the Battery Bars for any indication of remaining power. Fully charged, 3 bars; after 10 min of use you are down to 2 bars and, 10 more minutes and you are down to 1 bar where it stays until the battery runs out, hours later (and then only a 30 sec warning before it shuts off). Dont rely on the Bars...

If you use a Headset (i do almost exclusively), get one with the right impedance and it works flawlessly (i use plantronics M214C - $30).

My window A/C unit interferes with transmission (lots of static). This was not the case on a previous 2.4Ghz phone. Fortunately, i rarely need to turn the air on (and i simply plug in a corded phone for those really hot days). Central A/C does not affect the phone.

Otherwise, its an excellent phone with great features and a great price so i am happy with the purchase (and i run a small business using it).

I absolutely love this product. I have not only the extra handset provided in this package but several other handsets around the house as well. One of its great features is that you need only one phoneline for the main unit and all the others just need to be plugged in to an electric socket. The extra handsets are registered to that one main phone and work off its signal. Another great feature is when inputting names and telephone numbers. You can copy the information to all the other handsets without going through the hassle of rekeying everything again. Also, this phone is equipped to work with my Verizon voicemail system. When a message is placed in my voicemail my main phone and all the other handsets have a blinking light indicator to let me know that a message(s) are waiting for me.

For me, I found this product to be a great value, well made, clear reception, and awesome features. Buying this product has been a positive experience for me.

Excellent reliable phone.......2007-11-30

I've owned this phone for several months now and have added additional handsets to the system. I have yet to find something negative about this phone system or individual handsets. I use it with our IP service and it works great. No interference with the wireless network, excellent reach, good sound quality, long lasting battery. It's also priced well at under $60 on Amazon and slightly more at several other large retailers.

bad phone, even worse customer service.......2007-11-13

I bought this phone for my Mom as a gift. (I have the same exact phone and have had no problems after over a year.) My Mom's phone seemed okay, but now has started dropping calls. Unfortunately this was 60 days after receiving the phone. Amazon would only offer a 50% refund.
I tried calling Uniden. Uniden would offer no refund. Uniden recommended moving the phone away from all electrical equipment and appliances. (The phone currently is 20 feet from the TV and 10 feet from the microwave.) I guess I have to install a phone jack in Mom's bathroom to see if the phone will work there.
Do not buy this phone. I am never buying anything from Amazon ever again.
