Full-Featured MP3 Player
The SanDisk Sansa c240 will play MP3, WMA, WAV, and protected WMA DRM (digital rights management) music files. Enjoy the album art on the compact color screen, along with track information via ID3 tag support. The Sansa c240 MP3 player has one gigabyte of built-in flash memory, which allows you to store up to 250 songs (16 hours of playback) in 128 kpbs MP3 format, or up to 500 songs (32 hours of playback) in 64 kbps WMA format. Additional capacity can be added via the microSD slot. It also supports subscription music stores, for easy purchase and downloading of new music to your player. Finally, you can adjust the sound to your preference using the digital equalizer's five presets: normal, rock, jazz, classic, pop, and one customizable user setting.
Take Your Photos With You

Bought this last year for my 16 yr. old and she loves it. She had no problem getting it loaded and running in no time flat (little web ferret!). She uses it constantly, with NO complaints. Still hasn't filled it all the way up with music. Plenty of room. Having it able to charge off the computer is GENIUS. No batteries to worry about. Love it so much, My 12 yr. old is getting one this Christmas.

This proudct does exactly what it is suppose to. It works with windows vista and xp. I also say I used 9,10,11, windows media player and they all worked. I am thinkin about getting an ipod nano instead though for Christmas. I loved it but it is not as good as ipod nano 3rd generation but better than ipod nano 2nd generation.

Got this for my son's 14th birthday. Very happy once I got one that worked (had to return the 1st one but very easy policy). The player is easy to use with WMP or just drag and drop. Would have liked to be able to recharge battery without plugging into computer but is working fine and has good battery life. The expansion slot is a plus - can really get alot of music on there. Price was great and free shipping is fabulous.

This is a great alternative to an Ipod Shuffle. It is about half price and features the same amount of storage, plus a screen (!) FM radio, voice recorder and picture viewer. The pictures don't look great and the quality of the voice recorder isn't as good as it could be, but overall it's a great bargain. I've had mine for 8 months and i'm about to upgrade to one of the sansa e200's

Fine deisgn, but lacking by comparison to other budget players.......2007-05-17
I came late to the MP3-player revolution, but soon guzzled the Kool-Aid right out of the thermos. I love my music machine and use it in the car (via stereo adapter) and at work and around the house.
I'm still waiting for iPod prices to come down, but in the meantime I've been using, and greatly enjoying, two different SanDisk models.
This was the second one I bought, after I literally wore the other one into the ground -- I used it so much it literally deflated and melted into a small puddle.
The Sansa C240 has a great look -- thin, sleek and black it vaguely resembles an iPod but is just a fraction larger than Cricket lighter.
But, design aside, I still prefer the Sansa M230. That one is light but slightly pear-shaped, but it has significant advantages over the C240.
The M230 display will show you both how long a song has been playing and how much time the song has left, on the same screen. The C240 only shows the time playing.
Also, the M230 allows a smooth scan-forward or backtrack, whereas the C240 skips forward in units of about 10 seconds, which makes for clunky work when you're trying to scan to a particular part of a song.
The C240's display is slightly cooler, and allows you toggle onto a color image of the CD cover of the song playing, but features like that really don't do much for me.
Both units are cheap enough to be worth their cost, but the C240 is about three times the price of the M230. If you're looking for the best value in an almost-disposable player, you can hardly go wrong with the M230 which is currently a little over twenty bucks, or slightly more than the cost of a single CD.
