Clear Audio and Comfortable.......2007-02-19
This headset has a good microphone and speaker. It is much better than the Body Glove EarGlove headset that I used previously. The microphone transmits your voice so clearly that the person that you are speaking to often cannot tell that you are on a head set. However, the microphone is adversely affected by wind. It does not come with any foam over the microphone to help mitigate the effect of wind. Other than that, it is a great headset.

Comfortable, but some difficulties with the audio .......2006-06-11
I was using this product with a Motorola E815 ... the first time I tried to use it was on a very busy street, during the rain. The receiving audio seemed full of static, and both the receiving and transmitting audio seemed to fade in and out. I just chalked it up to the adverse environment.
The second time I tried it in the comfort of my home; the receiving side fading and static were still quite apparent. I had to return this headset, which was unfortunate - it is very comfortable for someone who wears glasses.
Light, comfortable, great for eyeglass wearers, good sound........2004-08-14
Pros: Light and comfortable, very good microphone clarity, good earpiece sound.
Con: Somewhat difficult to wear; no earpiece volume amplification and microphone mute button.
I purchased a Plantronics MX153-M1 (for $22 at an family-run electronics store a few blocks away from J&R Music and Computer World), the version of the MX150 made specifically for Motorola phones - v60, v70, v120, T720 and later phones. The MX153-M1 adds a push-button towards the upper-middle of its cord that enables the headset wearer to dial the last-dialed number, use voice-activated dialing, answer calls, and end calls without touching the phone. The MX153-N1 and MX153-N3 are push-button versions of the MX150 for Nokia phones. The base MX150 itself does not have the push-button and associated functionality.
The MX150's earbud is anchored to the wearer's ear by a soft rubber grip that wraps under and essentially clips the earlobe (pinna). It takes several seconds to fit the earbud and pivot the microphone boom to their proper angles; this must be done each time the wearer puts on the headset. The disadvantage of this fitting requirement is that if you are not already wearing the headset when your phone starts ringing, you are better off answering your phone the old-fashion way. Once fitted however, the MX150 is light and comfortable to point of being unnoticeable. The MX150's FlexGrip design (shared by the Plantronics MX100 family) is better than ear-loop designs that can get in the way of eyeglasses and sunglasses; headband designs that can pull on the wearer's hair; and classic earbud designs that can easily fall off. People with earrings may not be comfortable with the MX150 because of its grip on the ear's pinna.
In contrast to generic headset microphones that often make the wearer sound distant, the MX150's microphone performance is very good and makes the wearer sound clear and close to the phone. The noice-cancelling microphone does a good job of eliminating ambient noise - even inside a moving New York City subway car. The MX150 family does not have microphone volume control and microphone mute functions.
Earpiece performance is good. The MX150 lacks earpiece volume control, relying instead on the phone's volume control functions. As with any headset design lacking self-powered earpiece volume amplification, ambient noise may be an issue in open or noisy environments, e.g. a busy New York City street or subway car.
The MX150's price competition is with the Jabra ProBoom. The latter has battery-powered earpiece volume amplification, but consumers should carefully weigh this great advantage against the MX150's fit and weight benefits. The two competitors also differ in push-button support. The MX150 family has push-button models for Motorola and Nokia phones, while the ProBoom family has push-button models for Nokia and Samsung phones.
Of the three Plantronics headsets that I have purchased (the other two being the M175 and M100), the MX153-M1 is the best one that I have yet used.

not thrilled...........2007-01-29
I bought the unit because of the name - assuming that it would be a high quality product. I assumed wrong. I was originally very pleased with the unit because of it's light weight and crystal clear sound and would still be thrilled with it ~ if it still worked. Less than 3 months of very light, very tender use and the thing is garbage. The plug split at the seam when I inserted it into the jack so I repaired it with electrical tape. That worked for a time, but then the wires must have given out near the headset....crackling and intermittent voice going both ways. I have since purchased a Panasonic for 1/4 the price and it's great!
I Can't Live (or work) Without This Head Set!.......2006-05-25
I am on the telephone for 8+ hours a day for 5+ days a week. Obviously, I've tried A LOT of different kinds of headsets and this one is by far the absolute best buy for the money! Considering the frequency with which I use a headset phone, this is the very first time I have had a headset last more than six months! I'm trying an internet based phone service right now and was disappointed with the diminished sound quality. I was able to turn up the microphone sensitivity on my headset and it has really helped with the clarity and sound quality now!
I would give this headset an EXCELLENT rating for Comfort, Clarity, General Sound, Price, and Longevity! I have even recommended this headset to my friends and colleagues! Now that I've found it, I don't think I can live without this headset!
so so build quality.......2006-03-09
I have used two of these regularly (meaning each day for atleast 10 minutes minimum, during the last 2 years). Sound quality is 7/10 with inline volume contol. Also there is a mic switch that can adjust the sensitivity of the mic so that the person on the other end has the best chance of hearing you well.
The only think that I did not like with this headset was the weakness of the plug that fits into the phone - the plastic cracked after about a year. Also the points at which the cables attach to the 2.5mm plug and to the head support eventually wear out making it impossible to use the headsets.
For about USD10 its an ok buy, but Plantronics could improve on the weak points and still keep the price low as well as save the environment from yet more wiring and plastic.

Good headset.......2007-01-09
Good working headset. Durable, I use it as a spare and have no problems with it.
BAD MIC, UNCOMFORTABLE: I'M RETURNING MINE.......2005-07-07
After much searching, I thought this headset might be the one. While the mute, volume and mic controls are nice, none of that matters when people can't hear me talk. Forget about trying to use it outside. In addition to having to turn up the volume quite high for the earpiece, the ear-hook piece/attachmet hurts my ear after lengthy use, definitely within an hour. Sigh, back to searching for a better headset...
Broke in just over a month.......2005-04-01
The sound quality of the headset was fine for both listening and speaking. The earpiece pivots on the "ear hook", which is made of very cheap plastic. The hook broke after just over a month of light to moderate use. Beware.
can you hear me now?!?.......2004-12-13
"can you hear me now?" i tried so many times with different handsets, calling different people. then finally gave up.
all people complained that they could barely hear me when i spoke even with very loud voice. well, i couldn't keep yelling the whole time, could i?
the design is fairly good. the ear piece is very big, at least for my ears. i have to use a mirror to make sure it is actually in. but one it did get in, then you feel it is fairly comfortable. the weight is light so your ears barely feel any burdens. i wore it for half hour without any discomfort. the sound is very clear and loud. impressive.
the microphone is a extended boom. you can rotate the boom to adjust. the problem, the piece is too short. it rests on your cheek. i had trired to keep the microphone right on the cheek, one inch from the mouth, etc. but people still complained, "speak louder."
nice feature like one button mute, and volume adjust for ear piece.
over all, it doesn't work as it supposed to. very disappointed at the brand.
design: 3 (boom too short, not flexible)
feature: 4
sound (ear piece): 5
sound (microphone): 1
weight: 4
comfort: 4
over all: 1 (if you can't hear me, what is the point for all other good things?)
Memo to Amazon: This headset doesn't work with Nokia. Jeeze!.......2004-08-12
How hard do you think it would be for the geniuses who do the layout for this page to simply state that this product works with "Most Headset-Ready Phones: Audiovox, Kyocera, LG, Motorola", as the bright green sticker says right there on the package?? The product description doesn't mention that some phones, even if they have 2.5mm. jacks, can't use this headset. So--now I have to re-package and waste my time with the paperwork, checking the credit, etc. Waa-waa-waa you may be thinking. I'm thinking that if Amazon wants my buisness on a regular basis, it will try a little harder to include critical details about the product. Jeeze.
The headset does look good, and I bet it's a great deal if you have one of the aforementioned phones. I don't know if I could have that thing hanging off my ear for very long, though. Looks like I won't have to find out.
