Product Description
The KX-TG6074B is an expandable digital cordless answering system with 4 handsets. When a call comes in, this phone doesn't just let you see who's calling, it actually tells you who's calling with Talking Caller ID. Using text-to-speech technology, the caller's name is announced between rings if name/number Caller ID information is available. With SlowTalk message playback, you'll never miss important information again. You can slow down the playback speed of recorded messages by 30 percent at the touch of a button. And with this system's all-digital answering system, those messages will already be crystal clear and easy to retrieve, with up to 18 minutes of recording time.By simulating a band signal above and below the normal bandwidth limitations, Voice Enhancer Technology helps clarify and improve sound reception creating a natural-sounding voice that is easy to hear and understand.

Fantastic.......2008-01-01
Speakerphone not as great as I had hoped, but that's my only concern. Love the intercom feature to call from room to room.
Great Phones.......2007-12-29
I got these about 5 months ago and they have been working great! I highly recommend these phones.
Panasonic does it again.......2007-12-27
The Panasonic 6074 had the features I wanted with a brand name I trust. In particular, the talking caller ID allows us to keep about our activities without having to look at a display to read that it is yet another telemarketer. The intercom feature is a bit unusual in that I have to select a particular handset to call rather than simply ringing all handsets to locate a person. I suppose that would be more appropriate if a phone were in a particular bedroom, etc.
Sound quality is good, and the speakerphone function is better than expected. I dare suggest Panasonic has caught up to AT&T sound quality, and in my opinion have always exceeded them in reliability.
a great household unit.......2007-12-26
Bought the KX-TG6074B as a replacement for our V-Tech system, which lasted only just over a year! The Panasonic seems to be of quite good quality - feels solid, charges easily, and is pretty straightforward to use. The speakerphone capability in each handset is actually quite handy as well. Very happy with purchase.
Nice features........2007-12-26
We especially like the speakerphone feature. We could all chat together over the holidays, rather than have to run to different rooms to pick up the extensions. The intercom is also a neat feature. A great way to call the kids for dinner, or if you have to ask a question. We like the voice caller ID. I can ignore the phone and let the kids pick up when their friends call.

Pretty good little phone........2007-12-29
We bought these phones with two more handsets for use in our business. The range and clarity are great, as well as the intuitive controls. I guess the only beef I have with it is that when you are on line 1 and line 2 rings, the sound cuts out with the ring tone. This is especially anoying when speaking with a customer. Even with this drawback, I would buy this phone again!
Great phones!.......2007-12-25
We really like these phones. The work well, battery life is great. And there are lots of good features!
awesome phone system.......2007-12-22
I am really picky about my phones. I had not seen this system in person only on the internet. Not only am I pleased, I am thrilled. This phone gives you all you really need. It is so convenient. You can pick up a message from any hand set by just hitting a few buttons. No more running to the answer machine. The voice and hearing quality is excellent. Speakerphone is great as well. It does everything I need it to. I have it in a 2500 Sq ft. home and no sound quality issues anywhere. That really does depend on your homes wiring and other wireless equipment. i have cable and wireless internet and it does not have any affect on the system. I highly reccomend this phone, If I'm happy you'll be happy, just ask my wife!!!!!
a little disappointed, just an average phone and answering system.......2007-12-07
The sound quality is just OK during conversation. Answering system outgoing message is actually quite poor sound quality. I have had several other phone systems with much better sound quality. It really lacks features for such an expensive phone/answering system. It does NOT have a paging feature, so you have no way of knowing if a message is left, except to keep calling home to see. There is no feature to allow each line to ring only certain handsets, so the business line rings in your bedroom, like it or not. Then there are the feature buttons that are recessed. They are hard to push, they are soft rubber and you have to push the button just right to activate the line choice or feature you're trying to activate, and it's difficult. The phones have a light that is lite all the time, yet if you choose to have the blinking lite alert you of a message, that uses battery power... doesn't having the light on all the time use up battery power? The handsets are long and skinny, hard to hold and you can't rest it on your shoulder. I wish I knew more about the phone before I purchased it. Not having the paging feature is really a handicap for me. How can I let people know I'm going to call them back within a couple hours if I have to keep calling home to see if anyone has even called, which I'm sure I'm going to remember to do all the time, since I have so much time and cell minutes to waste for nothing most of the time. I just think it's a lot of money for a very basic phone system. The only really decent feature is that you can add handsets, and oh yea, it's 5.8ghz so it's less likely to interfere with my home wireless network.
Declutter your desk.......2007-12-04
Our Panasonic KX-TG6702B dual line cordless phone system works flawless. We had a Panasonic single line cordless system before and knew what to expect. The dual line system eliminates the other phone from your desk and helps to declutter office. In our micro enterprise we got four handsets for receptionist, accounts, art director, workshop. We use one line for outgoing calls to keep the other line open for incoming calls. The intercom is a great feature to communicate between offices as well as to forward calls. Best of all you don't need to run ugly phone lines all over the place. Phone lines are plugged into central unit only while the daughter handsets only need a regular power wall outlet to recharge batteries. The phone's design is smaller and looks more professional than our old system.
Reach is in most cases fully satisfactory as long as you don't work/live in a bunker of concrete and steel.
We have not used the built-in answering machine due to voice mail from our provider.

A real value.......2008-01-01
This combination cordless phone and answering device is a real value. The phone has excellent range and clarity. The answering device is easy to operate. The design is functional and attractive. The build quality appears to be good.
For under $60, this is a real value.
Brilliant!!!.......2007-12-23
This phone does what it promises and does it brilliantly. My wife and I love the LCD display on the handset. The voicemail feature on my vonage easily translates onto the handset. Additionally, you dont have to store the numbers to be able to identify them. If your service provider has a directory service, the phone automatically identifies the name and displays it when the caller calls. The clarity is fantastic. The range for the handset is also good. My wife usually takes the phone with her to our neighbors place and it works well there too. I picked this up on a deal at Amazon for 53$ and its tremendous value for that much. I would surely recommend this to anyone.
AT&T EP5995 Base Review.......2007-12-08
As typical AT&T products, this system is sturdy and works well. Its easy to install, navigate, and use. Unfortunately, if you are looking for all features, design, and finish, this is also a typical AT&T product. I was disappointed by not offering autodial (speed-dial), the cheap finish, and the amount of effort needed (force) to properly navigate through the menus with the cheap center mouse-like button. For the price I guess its a good buy, but its not the product I was looking for.
Best Phone I've Ever Owned.......2007-12-07
After five years my old Panasonic phone was reaching its end; it started to drop calls, the battery wasn't keeping a charge anymore (even after being on the charger all night), and I couldn't even walk out back behind my apartment without it disconnecting from the base. It was time to retire it so I started doing some major research, keeping in mind the features and performance that I wanted.
The Panasonic was an aging 900MHz and so I focused on phones in the 5.8GHz range. There was a lot to choose from so it took me a while, but I finally decided on the AT&T EP5995. I based my decision on two things - 1) the brand name AT&T because they may be a terrible phone company but they do make excellent phones, and 2) the plethora of excellent features. Having used this phone now for almost a year I can truthfully say it is the best phone I've ever owned.
The phone is very easy to setup as long as you read the manual, which is quite thick and impressively detailed. The base has a digital answering machine that holds up to fifteen minutes of messages and you can also place calls from the base because it has its own set of number keys. There base also has a very large display screen which shows the caller ID information (although the base screen is not in color it is large enough to see everything clearly and it does light up when someone calls you). There are about the same number of function keys on the base as there is on the handset although I rarely use the base except for setting the different functions (time, date, etc.).
One very interesting feature on the base is the optional spare battery compartment, which can hold a battery similar to the one that's in the handset. This spare battery can be kept charged in the telephone base for quick replacement when the handset battery pack is depleted. In the event of a power failure, the charged battery pack in the base will allow you to make and receive calls from the cordless handset for up to three hours.
There are separate directories in the handset and the base. The directory in the handset can store up to one hundred entries. The call log in the telephone base can store up to 50 entries. If you subscribe to Caller ID service you can select a picture or an animation to be displayed with each entry. You can also select a distinctive ringer melody for each entry, the caller's identity is known as soon as the telephone rings. The Pictures and Animations settings allow you to select an image or design as wallpaper for the background of the handset screen. I've never been much on pictures, ring tones, or any of that extra garbage, but that stuff is there if you want it. The full color LCD screen is beautiful and there are even display settings so you can adjust it to your liking.
On the handset there is a Call Log which keeps track of all the calls you receive which can easily be accessed by pressing the soft key under CALLER ID (on the main screen). You can REDIAL just as easily by pressing the soft key under this heading (on the main screen) and then using the arrow keys to go through the numbers stored there. For calls with Caller ID information, the handset will log the Caller ID information and keep a running counter of the number of unanswered calls. These appear on the main screen as "Missed Calls" along with the current time.
The EP5995 can accommodate up to eight cordless handsets, although why anyone would need this many is beyond me. You can add new handsets anytime, but each must be registered with the telephone base before use. Again, this is a pretty painless process, as long as you follow the manual.
The battery life is exactly as the manual states: 5 hours (of straight talk time) or 3 days off the cradle. I have had the handset off the cradle for three days and in that time I talked on the phone for about three hours so I know it's true. As for the sound quality I find it excellent, and AT&T was thoughtful enough to include a volume control on the handset (located right next to where you place your thumb when talking). Just keep in mind that we live in a digital world and there are all manner of electronic devices that can cause interference when talking on a phone such as this. The best solution I have found for keeping the line clear on the phone while talking comes straight from the manual itself...
"Other electronic products can cause interference to your cordless telephone. Try installing your telephone as far away as possible from the following electronic devices: wireless routers, radios, radio towers, pager towers, cellular telephones, digital telephones, intercoms, room monitors, televisions, VCRs, personal computers, kitchen appliances, and other cordless telephones."
I placed my phone on the opposite side of the room away from all my electronic devices (TV, computer, etc.) and I have not had any connection issues yet. Occasionally there has been some noise on the line, but this is very brief and is usually the result of me moving too far away from the base.
These are just a few of the features that I prefer and which are very impressive and easy to use on this phone. All in all I am completely satisfied with this purchase. I would recommend getting the spare battery (AT&T model #00249) because this is an extremely handy feature to have if the power goes out and I haven't seen it on any other phone but this one. Extra handsets (AT&T EP590-3) and the spare battery can be purchased on the AT&T web site for a pretty decent price.
Totally Pleased !.......2007-12-06
I selected this phone for the primary reason that it has a base dialer and more importantly the base LED screen I am able to read without eye glasses. As with all cordless phones the screen is too small and I have to put on glasses to read the caller ID information. I have found this phone to be exceptional in every way. It is user friendly and the sound quality is excellent. I looked at many phones online before making this purchase. I highly reccomend this phone!

Good Phone.......2007-10-27
We are using 5 of these cordless handsets all over the house, in conjunction with the base unit (KX-TGA4500B), with no interference problem. Another great feature about the handsets is that they don't have to be wired; just plugged in! Also, the recommended headset (KX-TCA86) works well with the both the base and handset) and is very inexpensive.
As Advertised.......2007-09-14
So far this system is working well for us. Wish there are more options such as more flexible extension numbers, etc.
Excellent follow on model.......2007-03-29
We used a previous version of this system for years. This much improved system handles even the tiny wishes we had from the old system. Music on hold, speaker phones, great range, etc. I actually bought multiple systems and tried them in my offices. I returned them all except the Panasonic.
panasonic cordless phone.......2007-03-10
Big disappointment. Unlike previous Panasonic phones that have always been 'slightly ahead of their time' this phone is difficult to use and there are too many steps involved to make or take a simple phone call. It's designed as badly as MS software. One of the annoying features is you have to hold the button down for almost 3 seconds to take a call on hold - it's a mess. Stay away.

Works Great!.......2007-10-06
Matched my existing Panasonic phone set and worked like a charm. I have two extra handsets and the base unit. Amazon was the best price and had super saver shipping to boot!
expandable headset .......2007-09-11
I was disappointed to find that a belt clip is not included with the headset! I had to order it as an accessory after I received the headset, and the shipping charge was more than the price of the belt clip. :(

Stay away from this one.......2007-12-06
We have been using the Panasonic 4 -line wireless phone system to run our home businesses for over 5 years. The original KX-TG4000 -- 2.4 ghz system worked really well. The problem however was that our wireless router created an audible interference, static in the cordless units.
So we "Upgraded" to the new Panasonic KX-TG4500 - 5.8 Ghz system. The new frequency works well with NO interference no static with our wireless router. The audio signal is quiet and static free on the cordless units.
The answering machine on this upgraded unit is terrible. It cuts off voice mail messages of callers. Typically it cuts off the last second or two of the phone message while they are leaving a phone number. After two replacement machines, a dozen support calls, and numerous attempts at resetting the VOX SENSITIVITY, and the AUTO DISCONNECT settings (settings which are totally hidden and buried if it wasn't for support telling me where these settings were, I would not even know about them.) I am giving up, resigning myself to living with a piece of S#%* phone machine that cuts off messages. I will buy a new one, a different brand as soon as I can find one.
I would NOT recommend for anyone to buy this phone system. For the $1000 we have invested in the system for our home office, I am certain there is a better product out there. But it is not the Panasonic KX-TG4500 nor the cordless units KX-TGA450. Stay away from this one.
Panasonic KX-TG4500B 5.8 GHz 4-Line Expandable Cordless.......2007-11-02
Loved the phone, has excellent reception so I did not agree with some of the other reviews that was posted who mentioned that the phone had poor reception.
The only negative thing I had to say about the phone is that you can not program your own ext. number. So if I wanted my ext. number to be 11, I can not do that.
Overall, very good phone system!.......2007-10-27
We needed a multi-line phone, and once you get past 2 lines, the choices are very limited. This phone has many good features, but could use some improvements. First, when listening to voicemail, it would be helpful to know which line the call came in from. Second, while you can record your own 'on hold' music, the sound quality is very poor, rendering that feature pretty much useless. Third (and maybe a bit picky), while 7 different ringer styles are offered, they're not very good. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, the ability of the person you're talking to being able to hear you clearly, is sometimes an issue. However, it is still a good phone overall, and we are able to use the separate cordless handsets (KX-TGA 450B), all over the house with no interference problem. Another great feature about the handsets is that they don't have to be wired; just plugged in! Also, the recommended headset (KX-TCA86) works well with the both the base and handset) and is very inexpensive.
piece of junk.......2007-10-26
I work from home and need a good 3-line phone for the house. After using the previous generation 4000 for about five years and experiencing the (apparently typical) problems with #1 and general quality, I decided to spring for the new version.
I was excited about new features like mute (surprisingly absent from the 4000) and speaker phone on the handsets, and figured the newer version would fix some of the general quality issues I had with the 4000.
All I can say is that this phone is a piece of junk. It is cheap, poorly constructed, and doesn't feel at all like a commercial-grade or even high-quality consumer product. Speaker phone is horrible, range is poor, call quality is bad from the base unit or handsets. Almost every conversation I have, at some point the other party asks me to speak up, or couldn't hear me or whatever.
I'm returning this phone immediately and trying the RCA product, which has gotten some bad reviews also. If that doesn't work, I don't know where to turn.
What I can't hear you........2007-08-09
Spent all this money on this phone and the volume is very low when you are on it. I purchased two additional handsets and two headsets for my business. When you are speaking on the phone, customers complain that you are talking to low and that they cannot hear you.
I like all the features on the phone but hate the reception and the fact that I have to talk loudly for someone to hear me. Would not buy another one. I called Panasonic and they basically told me that I would have to pay to get another phone. Wow. Amazon may have lost a customer to a local retailer.

Works As Advertised.......2007-12-21
This phone extension works very well and integrated with the base station without incident. Vonage is my phone service and this phone works well with it.
Awesome telephone!!.......2007-11-25
I purchased the AT&T Expansion Headset for my AT&T base phone system. I now have the AT&T base phone system with two additional headsets throughout my house. The look of the phone is excellent and clarity and cleariness when speaking on the phone is wonderful! If you are looking for a great phone system then this model and the base phone system I highly recommend.
AT&T E598-1.......2007-11-04
I needed to add an extension to my AT&T E2562 and the E598-1 is the specified component. It was easy to install and works perfectly. The Amazon price was very close to the best price and I know their reputation is excellent and I've bought from them before and never had a problem.
AT&T E598-1 - 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Expansion Handset .......2007-10-17
Bought the complete AT&T system with three sets included. Because it worked so well I added the fourth handset. I specifically bought the one that goes with my unit. It is the exactly the same as my original three sets and works well. The only complaint is that for some reason and unlike the other three sets you cannot access the menu from this unit but everything else seems to work fine including caller ID.
Expanded my system without a problem.........2007-10-09
I believe I expanded a 6012B system (it looks almost exactly the same as the E598 handset) from two to four without a hitch. Frankly, I chose this expansion handset (and the original handsets) because I liked how they looked (e.g., sort of a sleek, minimal handset design with blue key lighting), but both the original and the expansions have performed solidly (e.g., calls don't drop with good quality voice, decent range, and battery life).
Just be sure to determine the maximum number of handsets your original system will handle before you buy any expansion handsets.

Distance a problem.......2007-12-27
This phone works fine if you don't go too far from the base or charger unit...it has problems going thru walls and making curves...I wouldn't recommend this phone unless you plan on staying by the base.
Good.......2007-12-27
I am happy with the product but not sure about the extended range. Has some noise as distance from base increases.
Noisy.......2007-11-30
I don't like this phone, it some times has noise, even though being very near from the base.
Works fine.......2007-10-01
I've had this phone for several months and have had no problems. The range is quite good if there are no buildings in the way. Outperforms my earlier phones by a wide margin. Clear sound. I have no need for features beyond talking and listening, so gadget lovers might look elsewhere.

Features, features, features.......2007-10-30
We had been shopping for a phone which has lighted numerals AND caller ID. Good luck with that! Uniden has these features and more in this phone. GREAT JOB! We have had this for a week now, so we are still learning how to navigate through everything this does. The fact that it floats doesn't mean beans to me. It would be a cool feature, if you need an aquatic telephone, I guess. The lighted numerals were important for us for use as a bedroom phone. Most cell phones light up in the dark, so why don't more regular phone manufacturers offer this feature?? Anyway, we are happy with our purchase!
Improved so much..........2007-10-07
Compared to the previous model, WXI377, which I've owed for over two years, this model fulfilled most of my wishes what the older model lacked...
For example, 5.8GHz digital spread spectrum is much more secure than the old 900MHz analog. Now the keyboard is also backlighted as well as the display. The onboard speaker is nice and comes in handy. You can expand the phone to have more handset(TWX977 will give you the very same handset) and have features like transferring a call, page, intercom and conferencing, etc. Phonebook has much larger capacity, and now you can store two numbers per name, and personalize the ring tone...
Some same old problems still exist. The old WXI377 when it was submerged in bathtub, the cavity around the earpiece speaker would be filled with water that blocked the sound. I had to shake it vigorously get the water out, otherwise the volume would so low it was hard to hear the other party. The new model is still the same way, and shaking the water out would take more effort, seems to me. The chain dialing still only works when in a call(when you are connected, you can bring up the phonebook and dial another number. Works well for dialing a phone card access number first, then the real phone number from your phonebook). If you start by keying in a few digits, like "#0P"(I have a 2-line switch, #0 will access my other line. P is for a 1-second pause), you can't get in the phonebook and bring up another number onto the screen to concatenate them together then dial all at once...
The one area it screwed up is the redial number. On the old phone when you display the number by pressing Redial, you can hit Delete button to delete the last digit by each press. So you can edit the number by getting rid of the extra digits last time you entered when on hold and "press 1 go to this menu" or "press 2 for voicemail", etc. The new model does not allow you to edit the redial number. Hit Delete will wipe out the the entire line. This is the only problem I can remember now, that doesn't exist on the old model before...

A decent phone for around the pool. Happy to have something that we don't have to worry if it gets wet. Very good sound and voice quality.

This product is WONDERFUL! We've even dropped it into the swimming pool and it keeps on going & going. My husband & I are very pleased with our purchase.
POOL telephone.......2007-09-09
This telephone should be a REQUIREMENT for anyone who wants a wireless telephone that can ACTUALLY be used outside or anywhere that is wet. Worked excellently upon receipt and in all locations since getting it and being placed into service. Plus, it still works after I dropped it into the pool a couple of weeks ago. Also this telephone "FLOATS" in water.
