The handset speaker and microphone STINK.......2007-12-29
Don't expect anyone to be able to understand you or for you to understand them while talking on this handset. If you want to sound like Charlie Brown's teacher, this is the means by which it can be accomplished. The answering maching part works fine- I keep it just for that purpose.
Nice sound quality, poor battery life--GE..generally exhausted.......2007-11-26
I have had this phone for one year. I bought it because of the lightness of the receiver, the sound quality and the GE name. Unfortunately, the battery life is quite poor. I had a Panasonic for two years and it took many days and a lot of usage before the low battery signal came on. Unfortunately, Panasonic's products are poorly made and die after less than two years. Maybe this is the planned obsolescence of all cordless phones. But, you will find after two or three months, that the battery charge lasts less than one day or will be used up after a fifty minute chat. Buyer Beware.
Looks Good and Works Good.......2007-10-11
I've owned these phones for about 8 months now. So far, the batteries are running strong and I've had a good experience with the phones overall. I'm using one of the phones in the basement, and sometimes I will pick up a little static on that phone, so the range may not be the best. However, the phones we use most often upstairs near the base have worked great.
A couple nice features:
PAGING: you can page any of the other handsets from your current handset. This comes in handy when the wife needs something and can just page me instead of coming down to the basement to find me.
MONITORING: you can monitor any of the handsets remotely from another handset. Just press a button and you'll be listening in on whatever is nearby the handset of your choice.
TALKING ON MULTIPLE PHONES: contrary to a previous poster, you CAN talk on multiple phones at the same time. Perhaps they were thinking of another model, because we talk to our parents on two of the phones at once quite frequently.
ANSWERING MACHINE: We haven't messed with this much, but there are 3 separate mailboxes and you have the ability to check messages through the handsets as well as the base. We haven't had a need for this, but I can see where it could come in handy.
I'm not sure why this phone has received such mediocre reviews. I've been very satisfied with it overall. If you need long range, perhaps you should look at other options. If you're not as concerned with the range and want a solid, nice-looking phone with good features, this is the one.
Pretty good and easy to use.......2007-02-07
This unit took only a few minutes to install once I charged the batteries. I used all the defaults for voicemail, etc because I am lazy. The receiver volume control goes up to "4" and for me, at the maximum, it could be a little louder, especially if there is competing noise in the room. Other than that, I have no complaints and am pleased.
Good product, but needs revision.......2007-01-07
I bought this phone expecting better reception and range, but did not see any improvement at all. Only major complaint is that the keypad does not light up like previous GE models I had bought.
I like the "do not disturb" button on the base that turns off all ringers.
Overall good product, but can be improved.

Customer Reviews:
Solid phone with some great features.......2007-09-11
This is a terrific cordless system, with good sound and no interference noise or issues (even in the same room with my wireless router), excellent range, and long battery life. The answering machine, with 3 separate mailboxes and 2 available outgoing messages you can switch back and forth between, is feature packed for a system as value-priced as this one. The best feature of all, especially in an expandable system, is the Do Not Disturb button on the base -- one push and every handset is automatically silenced! Fabulous for use in a home office environment.
I'd give it 5 stars, but the handset itself is a little awkwardly shaped around the speaker, belling out and making it almost impossible to hold snugly against your ear if you're trying to hear better. It isn't always a problem, but if you're talking to someone who's rather quiet and have a lot of background noise on your end that you're trying to overcome (kids, dogs, life in general) it can quickly become uncomfortable forcing the handset speaker up against the side of your head! Of course, then the hands-free speakerphone or headset jack come in quite handy as options.
All in all, an exceptionally worthwhile purchase.
NICE PHONE, POOR ADVERTISING.......2007-09-05
You do not get what is pictured in the ad. You only get 2 phones total. The ad shows 3 phones and I thought that was what I was getting. I am disappointed.
Great phone, not so great battery.......2007-08-09
I love this phone! It has every feature I wanted, and it works great. Don't be fooled by the three handsets in the picture, this model only comes with two (which was fine by me). My only complaint is that one of the batteries in the main handset is bad and the handset will die after about a half hour of being off the dock. I'm going to call the company and have it replaced. Other than that, GREAT PHONE!
Good phone bad advertising.......2007-04-28
The phone is excellent so far. It was everything I thought it would be. What I didn't like is that it shows 3 phones in the ad but they only send you 2. To me this is false advertising. They should show actually what you would be getting.

Good speakerphone, good sound, poor battery life.......2007-11-26
I bought this phone for the sound quality, styling, economical use of desk space, and the GE name. It has very poor battery life. I say this as the previous owner of a Panasonic which died before two years. This battery stays juiced for about a fifty minute call or a day off the base. Then it will beep loudly to signal low battery. It is not easy to find batteries and they run about 15 to 20 dollars. Since I have only had the phone one year, that seems like a big chunk of change to put out for a phone I paid about forty dollars for.
It's OK..........2007-11-15
It's fine. Voice for answering system sounds a little cheesy/desperate. After trying unsuccessfully to find the information, I was disappointed to discover that I could not use the 28021 handset I already owned with this new phone as a bedroom phone. (Maybe if I plugged it into the bedroom jack, which no longer works...)
Good Value and Voice Quality.......2007-08-12
I purchased this item for the two outgoing messages feature. The phone and answering machine are easy to set up and use as well as having good voice quality.
Good phone.......2007-03-29
This telephone-answering machine works flawlessly with my Sunrocket VOIP service.
My wife is too technophobic to use the Sunrocket voice mail, so this solved the problem. I beleive that Sunrocket tech support is unaware that this phone is compatible with their service.
Good phone, but instructions not user friendly.......2006-08-20
I bought this phone for my elderely parents. It seems to work fine but my father can't figure out how to use all the features because the instructions are definitly not user friendly. I don't have the time to really play with it. But they both love the speaker feature as they are a little deaf!!!
I would say it's well worth the money and it doesn't take up too much space and it's attractive looking.

Wouldn't recomment it.......2007-07-15
The most important thing it doesn't do is have a volume option for the ringer. (There's only volume for someone's voice on the other end.) I can sit one foot away from the phone, have music playing at a normal level, and not hear it ring. Only when the answering machine kicks in do I hear someone's voice and realized I had missed all the rings! If I'm in the next room (the kitchen) and have the microwave on or running water at the sink I won't hear the phone. It is so ridiculous how soft sounding this phone is. My old phone, I could watch TV and the phone ringing would disrupt me from hearing my program, this phone I don't even hear. I'm young and have excellent hearing, I assure you it's not me.
Sometimes this phone has a bad connection, I'll hear an echo when I speak. Or the person I'm speaking to will think there's someone in the room with me speaking. A couple times I've been disconnected from calls. I also bought this phone for my mother and she's had the same problem.
The caller ID function doesn't work properly. If I had a caller ID box, it would tell me how many times one person called me and the time of each call. This phone counts multiple calls from one person (per day) as one call. So it will only tell me the last time you called, not that you called me 5 times today. You know sometimes this info is needed.
The one thing I do like is being able to put in photos for the address book. Well only 9 photos are allowed. But it's neat because when the phone rings and they're calling the display window shows their photo. One of my friends' name doesn't show on my caller ID, so I put her in my phone book, so now when she calls it says her name on the display window. The do not disturb button is nice too.
Great buy........2007-03-08
I love it . My husband loves all the features for the price.
I would definately recommend it.
Awesome phone for new parents.......2007-01-20
We got this phone when our old one broke. 5.8gHz is great because it doesn't interfere with our wireless network. The best feature is the "do not disturb" button. It completely silences the system including the incoming message. Helps keep the phone from waking the baby up. ALso, the ability to upload photos and attach them to specific phone numbers is great too because it allows us to put our photos and grandma's photos as well as the polic and fire depts on the phone so if our daughter ever has an emergency and needs to use the phone to call for help, she can do it just by toggling through the pictures and hitting the enter key. Really some nice innovations. PLus, you can record ringtones and assign them to certain numbers and know who's calling just by the tone. Also awesome for avoiding calls from parents, bosses, in-laws etc...
Great Phone.......2006-12-19
One reviewer stated this phone will not hold a charge after a few phone calls. I dont think she let it charge for 16hrs before use. This phone has a lot going on for the price. I have my kids photo on the display and it has the abilty to link pictures to the person calling you. You can even have your own music placed on this phone. Great phone for the price. Other phones with a lcd cost at least an additional 20 dollors or more.

Customer Reviews:
using with digital phone/voip.......2007-11-20
We got this phone for free with sunrocket (voip service) and have had it for about 2 years now. It is a great phone and we're really happy with it. It doesn't interfere with our wifi connection, and it has a decent talk time. We're using it with digital phone (through AT&T) and it is still going strong. Functional and practical!
Speaker phone was not loud enough.......2007-08-28
I returned this item about 30 minutes after purchasing it. I thought that the speaker phone was not loud enough. I really could not hear much unless I was a foot away from the phone. Also, the answering machine does not have a delete key. This probably is not an issue, as there is probably a way to delete the messages. I think the VTech phone that sells for 80 has a much louder and clearer speaker phone.
SHOCKINGLY TERRIBLE.......2007-06-06
When you spend this much money on a "high tech" phone from a "reputable" big corp, you at least expect the phone to work adequately. This phone is SO bad
in every way. Muddy sound, horrible range, static, poor battery life. Just SHOCKINGLY TERRIBLE. Run...dont walk...away from this phone. The "EDGE" version of this phone is EVEN WORSE.
Excellent clarity, good value, doesn't interfere w wireless network.......2007-05-02
I bought three sets of these phones, one for myself and two for other people. The clarity is excellent and there is no inteference with my wireless network.
These phone are attractive, light weight and easy to use. The buttons have large numbers and they are spaced out enough that you won't "fat finger" the wrong numbers. The menu system is also intelligently designed and easy to use.
In general, I have always been happy with GE phones. My last phone was a GE and it lasted for years. Similarly, at the time it was also a good value for the money. However, I noticed a big difference in clarity when I replaced it with this.
worst ever.......2007-04-18
This is the worst phone I have EVER owned. The reception was so bad no one on the other end could hear me talking unless I held very still and tried not to breathe. Not worth the money we saved, took it back and got a Uniden 5.8, and it rocks!!

Buyer beware with this phone.......2007-07-26
I have had SEVERAL cordless phones in the past, very few lasting any length of time. The last V-tech I had was AWESOME. Not wanting to spend a large amount of money I opted for this phone. HUGE mistake. The answering machine is awful - either cutting messages off or garbling them so as not to understand a word of it. The handsets are full of static - my callers always indicate that I am fading out so I am constantly repeating things to them. Very Annoying. I have had the phone for about 3 months and am going out tomorrow to replace it with a V-Tech product. Please be careful when purchasing this item.
Great sound quality -- well regarded by the Consumer Reports.......2007-05-17
I consulted the Consumer Reports before purchasing this phone because I have had wireless phones in the past that were just awful. This phone was reported to have great sound quality and was easy to use -- both things I have found to be true. Another reason I chose this phone was because the frequency did not interfere with my Apple Airport Expess wireless device.
This phone does not have a speaker button on the handset so if this is important to you may have to look elsewhere.

GE cordless phone.......2007-03-26

Customer Reviews:
Easy to use cordless phone with clear instructions.......2007-03-12
The GE 25951EE2 cordless phones where easy to setup. The documentation was clear and the phone worked as advertised. Voice quality was excellent. The one problem, was the handsets did not lock securely into the base or charging stations. This was particularly true of the remote handset where it some times took multiple tries to get the handset to stay seated in the charging station. Any movement caused the handset to loose connection to the charging station. Luckily the light on the charging station indicates whether the handset is properly seated and charging.
Disappointed.......2007-02-23
I bought this phone because the 5.8 GHz was supposed to have better clarity than the 2.4 GHz phone that we had. We have been very disappointed as the clarity is poor and the volume even on the highest setting, does not seem to be high enough so it is difficult to hear the caller.

Decent phone for a low price........2007-11-04
I purchased this phone to replace a 2.4GHz Panasonic 2 line phone. I needed another handset and the older Panasonic was too high. I thought the 5.8 GHz would have better range. I was planning on using a second handset and charger in another building about 100 yards from the house to give me intercom service to the house and a phone out there. The GE starts to get a little choppy at the building and loses signal as soon as I enter. The Panasonic 2.4GHz with it's 2 antenna base has slightly better range than the 5.8GHz GE which has no external antenna on the base. Although the sound is good on the GE, my Panasonic has better sound and has speakerphone on the handset. I wish for my situation I had purchased a Panasonic 5.8GHz phone. For most people this would not be an issue. The only other problem I have with the phone is it takes 4 AA batteries. I haven't put them in yet and it keeps resetting the time.
I wouldn't if I were you........2007-10-08
Junk. We bought the base and two handsets in 02/07, and in 10/07 the base unit just suddenly stopped transmitting to the handsets. Warranty is to send back to Texas for service. Nice - no phones for weeks on end? It was fortunate we hadn't thrown out the old ones. Sound quality is poor, transmission between base and handset is poor, and the date keeps reverting back to 2005 (the default). When it reverts back to 2005, the messages are recorded as being on the wrong date. It's also hard to see the display unless it's lit. There are a lot of good features, and the answering section seems to work fine (except for the date), so it's a shame these are such poor quality.
If and when we get them fixed, I don't know that they will really be fixed. For the money ($190.00), there's got to be better products available than worthless General Electric waste-of-space stuff like this.
Extremely low incoming volume makes it unusable........2007-07-22
PROS
Inexpensive. Fairly good range.
CONS
Unusable due to extremely low incoming volume. Phonebook interface poorly designed. Non-existent tech support.
The headset volume on this phone is so low the phone is unusable unless there is absolutely not background noise, and then it's still hard to hear the caller's voice.
And when the background volume increases, the incoming volume seems to *decrease*. It's marginally usable with a headset attached.
Other con is that, while you can share phonebook entries you can only transfer one entry at a time, which is useless, taking 20 seconds and many button presses per transfer.
Tech support is *literally* non-existent. I called the tech support number and got a *recorded message* that if my unit was defective, I should mail my unit to such and such address. And when I dont' get the unit back in 2 months? What do do then?
Unfortunately, it took me a while to get around to testing the sound issue objectively (by calling the unit w/ my cell phone and putting my mp3 player on the cell phone then listening on this phone and on several others.
By the time I test it this way and determined, "yes, I'm not crazy. It's unbelievably low volume." it was too late to return it. That's when I discovered the non-existent tech support.
Poor Sound Quality.......2006-07-14
This phone has nice 2-line features but we have tried two of them in our home office and both have suffered from poor out-going sound quality.
Overall the features of this phone are very good for a home office and if GE would fix the sound issue, we would be happy to have one.
Pros:
2 independant voice mail boxes.
Can retreive VM from the handset or base.
Displays external voicemail from our phone service.
Base and handset speaker phone.
Expandable.
Cons:
Sound quality is poor (clients were complaining that our voices sounded scratchy and far away).
Poor selection of ringers.
Silly melody ringers not appropriate for a office.
