A simple cell phone with basic features........2007-07-06
If you are looking for a phone that lets you browse the web,play cool games,listen to music or watch videos on it you should stay far away from this bad boy,but if you looking for something to use in an emergency situation then this might be the phone for you.This phone has a very old school wap 1.0 web browser that will not let you view most content on the web,it has a very tiny and low resolution screen that makes playing the downloadable games a pain to play and worst of all this thing has very little internal memory(and no expandable mem card slot).On the plus side it has the two way walkie talkie that boost is known for(only $1.00 a day to use),it is very thick which gives it a solid feel and for the most part you will get a fairly strong signal when making a call.This phone is all about basics which it does well so if you dont care about mobile entertainment and are simply looking for a communication device then this is the cell phone for you.

Nextel=Problems.......2007-09-03
First of all, I'd like to say that I don't personally know anyone who's completely satisfied with Nextel, their phones, and their service. Dropped calls, frozen screens, random shut downs are regular occurances for a Nextel phone, and trust me, I've been through quite a couple of them. They all eventually break down. Anyone defending Nextel is probably working for them, or hasn't been with Nextel for over a year. We just purchased two of the i855 phones (our i830 had finally given out after less than 7 months) and one phone has already frozen and will not turn back on. In fact, at a restaruant the other day I over heard a woman stating that Nextel phones were built to break-down after a certain time (makes sense, the customer would need to buy another one). I assume the person on the other line asked her how she new such a thing because she responded "Well, I used to work for them." It's disgusting how they take advantage of their customers. After explaining the problems to customer services, they continue to bribe you with better, "newer" phones in exchange for the promise of a 2-year contract with them. Their service is horrible, and you're phone will eventually give you problems. I PROMISE THAT!

Buyer Beware thier plans.......2005-09-10
The phone may be decent, however if you live in the state of NM, those chirp nights start at 10pm as well as the weekend rates. Thank God there is no contract on thier service, their web site states Indiana residents have thier service out of phase with thier time zone, but they should have mensioned New Mexico and West Texas. So now if I choose to use this service after buying thier phone, Im stuck into thier fees of 20 cents a minute till 10pm. They should have posted this up front and not have put me on hold by some guy who could barely speak English and then have them tell me after holding for 20min that Im in the "farmers" market and that's why Im being charged according to Eastern Standard time. What a dumb excuse. I am a T-mobile customer who wanted another line and decided to choose a pre-paid service. I'm going to go back to T-mobile for prepaid service, they might seem a little higher, but that's because they are telling thier customers the WHOLE truth UP FRONT and not lying and making up excuses. Bottom line: If you don't mind the 20 cent a minute rate and dumb excuses after purchasing thier products, go for it, but If you want better rates try Virgin, T-mobile, or Net10.
Its off da hook.......2005-09-08
Yo people boost is for people who dosen't use their cell phones a lot. For .20 cents a minute and .10 cents N&W i say its pretty cheap compared to other pre-paid phone companies. Example : T-mobile 25cents a minute and so is cingular and 7-eleven. So i say boost is a great Deal and $1.50 for unlimited walkie talkie for a day which is basically 7 minutes so i say its pretty cheap.
The best thing is The phones can play out Ringtones out loud!!!!
So u can get ur favorite song from a nextel dealer and play it out :D
New and Improved Rates.......2005-08-13
Since Boost Mobile dropped their rates to $0.20/min and $0.10/min nights, I'm enjoying Boost a lot more. My minutes are almost doubled on nights and weekend which is awesome when I'm on the phone longer. If you're looking at Nextel phones, and you don't want any of the hassles of having a contract or going through a credit check or anything like that, I'd definately recommend Boost Mobile. It's an awesome alternative.
sucks.......2004-08-08
Boost mobile is wack because they charge to much for they minutes 25 cents $1.50 a day for the walkie talkie this is the only thing its good for because it unlimmited!besides that when you make calls you can be on the phone that long I rather get a nextel on contract!

Boost Mobile Sucks!!.......2007-08-25
It's not the phone's fault. The phone was actually fine, it is the LOUSY service that was the problem. We have tried Tracfone, Virgin Mobile, Cingular and now Boost Mobile. We went back to Virgin Mobile. All but Boost had good customer service.
We bought this "pay as you go" phone for my husband. We wanted to add time to the phone via his credit card by phone. We were put through "verification" questions just like those you might expect to answer on TRW's web site when requesting a credit report. Why? Boost Mobile is not offering us a line of credit.
To me this would be equal to shopping at Target and before using your Visa card you were asked these questions. They actually asked us about a relative that we don't even talk to, expecting us to know where he lives! This was just beyond the scope of things that are their business. Why do they require your soc. sec. # when you activate your phone? Fishy to me. Avoid Boost Mobile if you value your privacy.
