A popular and affordable telephone, the 210 from AT&T is designed for those who don't want hassles or frills, just a basic phone that's reliable and easy to use. Simple corded operation means you never have worry about misplacing a cordless handset, and the phone's sturdy construction means it's designed to last.
You can place the base on a convenient surface or easily mount it on the wall, saving on counter space. A 12-number memory dial feature lets you store your most frequently called numbers (up to 21 digits)--nine speed dials plus three emergency one-touch dials that are easy to program. A directory card is provided to help you keep track of all your memory dial settings. A redial feature lets you quickly call the last outgoing number (up to 32 digits).
Three ringer settings (off, low, and high) and three handset volume levels permit customization. Switchable tone and pulse dialing methods are also provided. The illuminated keypad helps you operate the phone even in darkly lit areas, while a prog/mute button on the handset lets you hear the other party while muting your side of the conversation. An excellent value, the 210 also comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.

a pretty good phone for the price.......2007-12-06
I recently bought this phone for my father who likes his phones simple and easy to use. This telephone by AT&T works better than other, much fancier phones, including two expensive cordless phones with extra handsets, when I had to get a new phone for my new home. The construction of this telephone reflects great engineering; and it's very, very reliable for a price that's very inexpensive these days for a phone. Yes, it is corded; but when all you really need is a basic phone this really does the job.
The phone has back lit buttons which are desirable for those of us who are elderly or in any way sight impaired. The buttons could be brighter but the back lighting does improve upon no lighting. The phone offers well known features including "last number redial," and allows you to set the phone up with your telephone company so that you can use this phone with features like call waiting and three way calling. The phone has a mute feature, adjustable ringer volume and more. These functions never disappoint me. It also has a small knob that lets you switch between touch tone and pulse (rotary) dialing. I use touch tone dialing as most people do. I am particularly impressed that a phone in this price range even has a twelve number memory feature for speed dialing. Cool!
If you want to take a nap without the phone ringing, just turn the ringer off by using the knob at the base of the phone.
I highly recommend this telephone for people who need a basic phone at a cheap price that still has a few "frills" to like including memory speed dialing and call waiting. The extra features give you all you truly need to make this a well constructed telephone at a ridiculously inexpensive price. Sure, the back lighting for the buttons on the phone could be brighter; but overall this is still quite a good phone for the price. The phone takes up little space and it can even be wall mounted to completely save counter space in a kitchen or any other room.
THE BEST CORDED PHONE OF ALL TIMES.......2007-11-13
THIS PHONE HAS A VERY WELL DESERVED REPUTATION, AND I CERTIFY THIS STATEMENT.I AM VERY PLEASED WITH ITS PERFOMANCE.
Cheap Plastic.......2007-10-13
All the buttons don't lit evenly, because there's only one small light source. Second, the buttons are not the soft translucent pads. They are gray hard plastic. The whole unit feels light and made of cheap plastic. No metal reinforcement. Sound quality as usual.
It's cheaper at Fry's than from Amazon.
decent little phone.......2007-09-10
Bought these to replace two refurbished GE
phones that never really worked well. So far,
they're great. However, I've only had them about
six weeks.
Happy With My Purchase.......2007-04-10
I purchased two of these phones, one for my Mom, and one for me. My mother is elderly, so I bought this phone for her because it has three buttons on the top row of the keypad especially for emergency numbers. Also, since it has a programmable memory, she can easily access family members cell or home phone numbers. This particular A T & T model phone has always proven to be reliable and long-lasting, so I know my money hasn't been wasted. They last much longer and the quality of sound is much higher than most portable phones.

Good phone, but deceptive pictures.......2007-11-07
It is nice to have a corded phone with caller-id built in. But the caller-id screen is not lighted or backlit. The picture clearly shows it is, but it is not and this is very irritating. You cannot see the caller-id unless you have another light on. For the price though it is still a pretty good deal. Do a search for 'bedroom phone' and you will see a few that are backlit/lighted, but they are quite a bit more expensive.
The Best corded phone.......2007-10-21
I have this corded phone by my bed. This is the only corded one we have as the rest are cordless. This is wonderful.
glad this isn't my main phone.......2007-10-16
what can i say? i am home sick so decided to order my "in case of emergencies land line" online. the phone is slim and stays out of the way, and for all intensive purposes works...somewhat. you have to play with the cords so there isn't a constant static. whomever calls you can hear you just fine, however, you will endure sporatic static on your end. the caller id works just fine, and like most individual units, blinks when you have a new call. the ease of use for setup and everyday function make this phone user friendly.
Never really worked right..........2007-10-09
Makes calls, receives calls...BUT LED comes and goes randomly (supposed to flash to indicate new calls); LCD display comes and goes; and does not reliably save calls in list. Mine must have an electronics problem.
A simple high quality phone.......2007-09-30
A great phone for the price
Caller ID (even on call waiting)and
memory - the perfect corded phone.

AT&T - Simple as can be.......2007-12-11
This is an extremely simple phone (no battery to charge since it's corded and should run even during blackouts!) and works great for those who don't need anything more complicated. I got it as a gift (for fiance's mom) and can't comment on it other than the craftmanship is solid, buttons light up to show it's on and there are a number of basic features - ring tone, volume, pulse vs. dial tone, etc.). Also, I ordered from Home and Beyond, 1 of 2 phones was dead on arrival but was promptly replaced after I shipped it back - free of charge via UPS's dropoff.
worked fine - for 3 weeks.......2007-08-19
item arrived quickly, and worked fine - for 3 weeks. Then suddenly, it simply died. Phone lines are working, checked everything with other cordless phones, etc., even the phone connection cord works on other phones. The phone unit itself died after just 3 weeks of use. Since this is supposed to be my corded phone for emergency situations, this is a definite problem. But lesson learned - you get what you pay for... since I didn't pay much, I didn't get much. This time, it'll be a trip to a local brick&mortar store for a replacement, so that returning anything defective will not be such a hassle. Perhaps I'll finally learn the other important lesson - never buy anything electronic through amazon. I've yet to buy anything that plugs in to electrical or phone jacks through amazon that has ever worked for more than a few weeks/months. From here on out, I'll stick to books and things with no moving or electronic parts.
Extension phone.......2007-07-04
Attractive, modern phone. Received promptly. Multiple items from this seller do not show up on the tracking list. Only the first shipped one does. Otherwise a good transaction.
No one ever notified me.......2007-06-13
This item never arrived. I emailed the supplier, Polsteins Home and Beyond, they never got back to me. It was to arrive a month ago. I finally looked them up and got their phone number. They said the item was discontinued. They also said they wrote an email on the 9th telling me that it was discontinued. I didn't get one.
The phone was for my mother who is elderly and in desperate need of a phone like this. Days mattered.
I order a lot of stuff through Amazon. This is an experience that will make me question whether they are good for things like this.
Terrific Telephone.......2007-06-01
My phone arrived immediately. I connected it and am pleased with its clarity of sound. I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a basic, inexpensive telephone. I purchased it for my middle schoolers who need to call home from time to time for lunch money, etc. I would not hesitate to order it again should I need another one.

Okay phone but missing some critical features.......2007-07-19
I bought this phone for an elderly relative who is both hard of hearing and has memory issues. While the phone does amplify adequately, it requires you to push a boost button every time you receive a call in order to turn on the amplification. This was not acceptable in our situation nor was it mentioned in the description of the product. I called the manufacturer and they told me that their higher end models have an override capability in which you can leave the amplification on permanently. This phone also does not have any speed dial buttons. I had to return this phone and get a different model.
Pros & Cons.......2007-06-19
Pros: Great for elderly - loud ring, large loud buttons, light flashes when rings, amplifies incoming sound, hangs on wall in kitchen (minimal space), easy to use, person on other end can hear you perfectly
Cons: There's a bit of an echo or something (probably with all that amplification) that you hear a bit of yourself. My parents say it's ok, but I want them to have a great phone. They love the other features.... so it's kind of a toss up...

Completely satisfied .......2007-12-04
It is a pleasure to be able to hear voices clearly during a telephone conversation.
The phone that keeps working.......2007-06-09
Wonderful basic phone with no frills that will continue working during a power outage. It's an AT&T phone not sold by AT&T. However, AT&T (being our phone service company) will ask if the corded phone is working or claim that cordless phones harm the phone line. With the heavy storms pounding us this spring we are happy to have found a seller still stocking this necessity.
A NO FRILLS PHONE.......2007-05-12
Short on features but this CORDED phone has excellent sound and loudness is very good. This is what you want for a corded phone. Phone can store up to 13 numbers. Comes in black or white.
The AT&T 210 is an Incredible Phone for $11.99.......2005-01-15
I purchased three of the AT&T 210 phones after frustrations with trying to buy a reliable inexpensive phone locally. I had to take a local purchase back to a department store after my son and mother could not hear me well when I called them with it. The reviews here convinced me to get this phone. I then tested it with my son and he said I was clear (unlike with the earlier phone I was using). Great feel and design. I decided not to get Black since I could get white and bisque for only $11.99 each - and buying 3 phones qualified me for free shipping from amazon. Three excellent phones in the house for $35.97. You can't beat that.
Superb Phone That Works When Power is Out.......2003-05-07
This is the AT&T classic princess phone model that was marketed as an extension phone for teenagers up to 1984. At that time "The Consent Decree" (Justice Department) forced AT&T out of the local phone markets and broke up their equipment monopoly. But these phones have hung around since they provide dynamite voice quality and reliability. They are rugged. And in this era of unreliable utility power service, this phone will work when the electricity is off! Your fancy wireless and electronic phones won't. For the price, keep a couple in the house and awe your neighbors with your telecommunications savvy when the power is out.

Customer Reviews:
AT&T Trimline 260.......2007-10-10
The purchase was to replace my old 260 that is no longer manufactured or available in a bricks & mortar store. The sound quality is not as good as my old 260...and...when I speak I hear a vibrating noise that makes me believe the other party is not receiving clear sound.
Don't bother.......2007-05-14
Just pay a little more and get a better one. I have to change the batteries (4-AA) almost every month. I experienced alot of problems in the screen.
AT & T 260 Trimline Phone.......2007-03-09
The phone arrived in a matter of two days. So far so good. The phone is working in mint condition.
Cheap made phone........2007-02-19
It works and plays well but not made great. Some buttons you have to press twice to make it work. Call Id works fine.
Caller ID not working.......2006-08-26
I ordered two of these. There are other phones in the house that have caller ID working, but neither of these do. I called the support number and was told to try to remove all the other phones to see if they interfere. If that is the case am I supposed to not have the other phones? I have FIOS internet and I can see that the phone lines come through that equipment. Perhaps these phones have a compatibility issue that the others do not.

Customer Reviews:
ergonomically awful..........2007-11-04
I find this phone to be extremely hard to manage. There are several buttons on the outside of the receiver that are in the center where you put your hand to hold the phone and several on the inside of the receiver. No comfortable place to hold it which often causes cutting people off by accident. Too many buttons in the wrong place and a slippery texture that wants to slide. Not very well designed at all.
Great phone, exactly as advertised........2007-04-10
Glad I got these phones!
After we discovered our son is sensitive to 2.4Ghz or higher frequencies (as most children are), and he was getting headaches from our wireless internet and 2.4Ghz phones we decided to go back to WIRED phones in the home.
These were the obvious choice, and I am happy with our choice! No complaints about this phone at all.
Blah phone.......2007-03-28
I sent it back. The price was right but the caller ID didn't function. When I got in touch with AT&T, they told me, maybe this phone is not compatible with the other phones in my home. (Stupid Response!) I then asked, why would AT&T put a phone on the market that's not compatible with my other phones, I didn't get a reply!!! They wanted to send me a replacement. I told them there is no point in doing that, if, the replacement phone was not compatible with my other phones! I guess AMAZON will be sending it back to AT&T.
Batteries Not Included.......2007-03-15
The description advertises no power cord required, and the box has large print stating "No AC Power Needed". Smaller print however notes that if you want the caller-id (which isn't back-lit) to function, that you need to provide 3 AA batteries.
The last thing I wanted was one more thing that required batteries.
Great phones.......2007-02-03
Ordered 2 of these AT & T phone on 2/1/07. Received the phones in 1 day - today. Excellent service - Easy to hook up and I love the caller ID feature.
Great phones for great price!

dont waste your time. .......2006-12-26
if your looking for something cheap then i guess go with this, but there will be a hassel. its impossible to put on the wall, and after awhile, you can barley read whose calling you. after a few months i gave up on it and threw it away. not worth the cheap price. go with something more expensive.
Would not recommend it........2006-01-28
Iwall mounted it (had a hard time winding the "hard wired" cord). In that position it is impossible to read Caller ID. That feature (?) is useless. Ring & sound OK. I think I am going to look for a better phone and move this one to the basement or garage
It's the perfect slimline phone.............2005-10-27
This phone has just about anything you can want on a slim-line... The ID and everything about it........
Disappointed.......2004-03-04
I was very disappointed in this phone because it only lasted 4 months before it started making loud noises during conversations. I was surprised that Southwestern Bell would tolerate such defects in their workmanship.
Invest in a magnifying glass!.......2004-02-13
I have had the freedom phone trimline fm2552 for over a year now and i still have to turn it a certain angle towards the lighting in my home to see my incoming calls on the caller-id. By the time i figure out who has called, they have hung-up! Other than that feature, it works alright.
