Now don't get me wrong i do insanly love my ipod but you know there is but two downside, the batterie only last's about an hour and a half of continuis use, and if you put to much stuff on it it will slow down a little, other than that it is a great mp3 player.

Ipods are great when they are working. 30 GB was more memory than I'd ever need to take my whole music collection with me and an occasional movie. On the downside, it is was not very customizable, but that was really minor. The major problem I had with it was that it only lasted a year. That is really horrible. I don't know if it's the battery or the hardrive, but either way it's not worth the money to get it repaired.
I'd hope the new Ipods last longer.

At first I hated iPod (something to do with my first one literally blowing up) But I gave it another chance, and to my surprise, it's been working great. I give the actual product 5 stars, but I loathe iTunes, seeing as how I had to delete all my music from it since I ran out of memory on my HD. Luckily you're able to set it to manual sync, meaning your iPod won't automatically sync the content currently on your iTunes account, or in my case LACK of content. It's inevitable, but I'm gonna have to eventually upload all my albums again. A simple "load content from iPod to iTunes" feature would do wonders for me.

so far, so good.......2007-12-16
i've only had this product for...maybe a month, and so far it has worked fine. I do think i have to reset it more than usual when i'm trying to turn it on, which i find weird. Basically, sometimes it won't turn on when i press the play button. i usually listen to it at night, and fall asleep before the playlist ends, and when i try to turn it on the next day, i have to do the 'reset' procedure. maybe i'm just not used to the little quirks of an ipod? battery life has been decent, since i use my ipod practically everyday, i do have to charge it every night or so, but i knew about battery life expectations when i was looking for an ipod. i bought a case for it, because i wanted to protect the ipod (since i use it on a regular basis). Other than these 2 things (battery and reset), the ipod has worked software-wise when i have to plug it into my computer. it has lived up to my expectations for an ipod.

My iPod definitely lived up to the hype. I love it. I thought watching videos on it would be foolish because of the small screen, but the truth is the video is crystal clear and I had no problems whatsoever watching TV shows like "Lost," "Desperate Housewives," or "30 Rock" on it.

Okay, so this doesn't stand anywhere close in comparsion to the IPODs that they are selling now with touch screens and other little ammenities, but this is still a gem. I have over 400 CDs on my Pod and it isn't even half full. I don't know if I would watch a full movie on it, but some people do. It is a great tool to have at home or at work or when you are exercising.

I had a 30 day warranty and 40 days after purchase ipod could not keep a charge for 20 minutes. I ordered a new battery and same thing. bad refurb now I wont buy any refurb again.

Although the refurbished models may save some money, we were not successful in getting good quality. After 30 days the screen went completely blank and a small hairline crack was found.

I'm a total klutz, I've dropped my ipod more times than I care to admit. I believe this case is why my ipod is still in top-notch working condition. Only issue- my boyfriend had the white/translucent version, left it in his car and the heat made it expand, so it now fits Gigantor's ipod. But so far the black one's been great!

This Speck skin is all about bullet proofing your iPod, thats it... it does not care about being compact and so being designed slick. I have been using this for about more than a year now and it hasnt failed me. I have dropped my iPod several times, even on concrete from about around 3 ft, it still withstood the impact. The Belt Clip is THE BEST!! Once you have your iPod clipped on to your belt securely, no matter where you go, it will not fall off or anything. I have traveled to India with this, and in the crowded places, with all the pushing and everything, it still stayed strong. The build quality is excellent, but the skin around the screen is deforming. It does not fully hold the screen protector tight, so i expect that in few more years the skin will get so loose that the screen protector will fall off. The quality of plastic of the screen protector is not very good. It scratches very easily and when you are looking at images or video, the screen eats up a lot of of the clarity.
The only downside to this is that the skin is the bulkiest one I have ever come across. The beltclip is also very big and fat. I hope to see improvement in making the skin more slimmer and more dense. And the screen protector, making it scratch proof and more transparent so it does not take away from the colors.

This ipod case is great. Its easy to hold and it looks like something Batman carries on his utility belt. The belt clip is easily removable. And, even though I would never attach an ipod to my belt because of the sheer size, if you are a runner or someone who likes to have things on their belt or have a thing for belts and things on your belt, the clip is great. It swivels a complete 360 degrees (like a gun-slinger) and is very sturdy. The LCD cover is a little tough to manuever, but once you get it in place it is unlikely to move out of place at all.
The Speck Products Tough Skin is just what I was looking for. I waited a long time to find the right case and I'm very glad I held out almost a year, searching for the right protective covering. Of course it would have been a better idea to order it the moment I saw my co-worker show me his rather than waiting an additional week and dropping my unprotected ipod while running down a sidewalk. I will continue to keep my eye out for additional items made by Speck Products. They seem to have form and function down pat. (If your name isn't Pat I apologize.)

I consider this case a part of my iPod. I had an old iPod, and when I get my video and bought this case with it and haven't gone a day without it in a year, and wouldn't suggest it either. I use my iPod in this case everyday, at home and in the car. Will interfere with docks. I used to sell electronics and would always show my ipod with this case to customers. Anyone who says it doesn't fit or that the screen protector doesn't work clearly has done something wrong or had received a defective case.
It's thick, you don't have to worry about every little drop because of it. It's also durable. As some have said, tight pockets can be a bit of a mess since it is rubber, but if you are capable of putting it in your hand and sliding your hand into your pocket then you shouldn't have a problem : )
My suggestion, if you won't use the clip often, then pull the circle out of the case, it makes the shape much more consistent and easier to put into a pocket or sit flat on its back.

Just a great iPod accessory. I'm rough on my toys and tend to drop them frequently. This has probably saved my iPod from taking any serious damage if it were unprotected. it's also seriously reduced all the scratches I put on it.

Yellowed and saggy after a few months........2007-09-25
Looked great out of the box, but after a few months, I've just had to dump it. The screen cover was sliding all over the place, letting all sorts of grime in and resulting in scratches. The plastic used to be clear but turned a nasty icky yellow on the corners - it's not just dirty, as I've washed it thoroughly; it's the plastic itself that changed colors.
Tough Skin.......2007-09-05
So here's the deal:
Pro's : it protects my ipod from just about everything. Not a scratch on my ipod and that's the way I like it. It's durable and does what it's supposed to.
Con's : the screen cover is ill fitting and gets scratched very easily. Also, does make a sleek ipod too bulky to put in your pocket. Belt clip is flimsy for the size as well.
Overall, 4 out of 5 starts for the above con's.

Background: I have owned my 30 Gigabyte iPod and Speck Toughskin case for almost six months now. I have primarily used my iPod while traveling through Europe last fall (2006). Now I generally carry my iPod with me to school and work. During this time I have generally had the Toughskin on my iPod unless I wish to use it in my car with the adapter I also purchased.
Use: Normally I carry my iPod in my back pack while in school or in my coat pocket with the case on the iPod. I did use the belt clip while traveling in the airport, however with bulky clothing I have found it easier to just place in a large pocket. Granted with the Toughskin my iPod will not fit into any jean/khaki pant pocket. It will fit into a cargo style pocket though.
1. The case is large, but seems quite protective.
2. The screen, though clear at first, has started to become scratched and hazy over the past couple of months.
3. The belt clip is sturdy and have never felt as though my iPod would all off. HOWEVER, the push tab to open the clip has broken off. This tab cracked about a month into use of the Toughskin and I knew it was only a matter of time before it broke. Now, after six months of use that time has come.
4. The 30 Gig insert has left marks on the back of my iPod.
5. I have noticed some discoloration of the Toughskin. I suppose this is to be expected.
6. The bulkiness of it can sometimes make it hard to select songs.
Conclusion: Great protection but a bit bulky and hard to use sometimes.

Did not work.......2007-08-17
I have all 4 of the channels this device is suppose to work with. It only worked on one channel 107.9, it was very faint with static. My car stereo volume was turned completely up, and my MP3 players volume turned completely up. Not sure what the problem, but I suppose you get the value of the price you pay.
