I love Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. I got gadgets and toys all around the house, so I constantly charging batteries to have them ready when I need them. But as you know, they are unuseable after you put them in the shelf for a month. Which is a waste of time and energy. If you really want to be green, then you need these low-discharge batteries. I have started to replace all of them with Eneloops.
The only problem is? Now there are bunch of low-discharge batteries coming out. Kodak, Rayovac, I also see some at Thomas Distributing which are much cheaper than Eneloops. I do not want to mix them up, plus have not tried the others. So, I stick with this brand at this time.

I've been using rechargeable AA batteries for camera and flash use since the 1970s. Yikes, I feel old :). We have had two sets of these for a year now and they are far and away the best I've ever tried. The low self-discharge rate makes them useful in ways that traditional NiCad and NiMH batteries aren't. Traditional rechargeables are useless in applications where they might sit for a time then be put to heavy use.
I haven't done the detailed analytic testing of some other reviewers, but after a full year of regular use I can say that these are everything you want in a battery. Powerful, long lasting, easy to recharge and never the source of frustration or disappointment!

Have used rechargeable batteries for over 30 years. These are the best I have ever used. Old NiCd batteries don't have the capacity and have memory effect. New high capacity metal hydride require charging just before use as they self discharge so quickly - allways dead when I go to use digital camera or radio. These can sit unused for months and still have almost a full charge. Store FRS radios in truck and they are still useable for 8 hours after sitting for almost a year!! I currently own 40 AA and 30 AAA. Highly recommedned

I purchased these batteries to use in my new Canon Powershot S5 IS digital camera. It sure is nice to purchase pre-charged batteries! I have been taking a lot of pictures and the batteries still are going strong! My friends are always putting new batteries in their cameras, while I am still taking pictures! I have been recommending them to everyone! I keep referring everyone to the Eneloop web site, so they can read about how they work and how long they last compared to regular batteries. I have also purchased some more of them for other digital products that we own. We are definitely very happy with them! I would recommend them for all of your electronic products! These batteries last longer than normal AA long life batteries in digital cameras. Well worth the going price especially at discounters like Amazon and they are pre-charged already to go.

Not your normal, crummy NiMH battery.......2007-11-17
I replaced the batteries in my engineering model calculator with three AAA eneloops several weeks ago. The batteries have kept going and going compared with regular NiMH AAA's which are not suitable for long term low drain devices like this because they won't keep going and going. They disapate far too quickly. You would have to recharge them so often it would make you crazy.
I also like the idea I can keep several sets of eneloops charged up and ready for use in my camera, a high drain device, for which a regular NiMH might be useful. Problem is I don't take all my photos within a day or two and regular NiMH's disipate. Once again, I have to recharge. Not so with eneloops. For me these batteries are the greatest.
2700 mAH's (or more in the future) of energy storage capacity for the highest regular NiMH's does not trump eneloops 2100 mAH for me if most of the 2700 mAH's disipates within days of its having been charged. TV remote controls, calculators, shavers and all sorts of uses where alkalines were more appropriate eneloops (or other hybrid NiMH batteries) can now be used. Good job!

I received them this week and was surprised at the date on them and more so that when I put them in my remote they worked perfectly without recharging them. I think the advertising is true. I'll add an addendum if I find they do not last long or there is some other issue. As for now, I'm impressed.

My review is much the same as others. They come packaged in twos. You simply remove your hepa filter, unwrap the old filter, and wrap a new one around it. There are two velcro fastener strips two inches long that secure the filter over the hepa filter. You re-insert it all back in the machine. I think they work very well. They can last longer than the three months if you vaccumm them occasionaly and don't have smokers, pets, or live in a heavily trafficed area (or the windows are shut, as in winter). They work exceeding well.

This is a good prefilter for my Hepa machines. I live in a congested part of NYC with lots of traffic and have two filters running at all times to keep the apartment's air clean. These prefilters last between 2 and 3 months, depending on local air quality. When I change them I can really appreciate them - all that disgusting gunk on the filters instead of in my lungs. As others have said, the filters come two in a package. Cut them in half widthwise (do it over a counter because the charcoal gets all over), then wrap the prefilter around the Hepa filter and secure with the supplied velcro strips. That's it, quick and easy.

The filter works fine, but it is a generic "one size" filter that you have to "cut to size". I was expecting pre-sized filter, but that is not the case. The plus side is that you have so much left over that you can easily get two filters out of the one giant sheet you get after you cut them to fit. This is assuming you have a reasonably size air filter like I do. I'm sure someone out there has an air filter large enough for the this filter.

As long as you know that this is one big piece and you have to cut it to size, this is a perfect replacement pre-filter. It was a good price, which is important because this pre-filter is supposed to be replaced often.

This is a great esata drive that even comes with an esata pci card space hook-up bracket. Worked like a charm from the moment I hooked it up. Why waste time with usb or firewire when you can have a blazingly fast esata connection? Great for graphics, 3d animation, video editing -- any application where you need to move lots of data fast. It's also super quiet. The blue light is quite bright, but I like it. You can cover it with something if you find it distracting but it does serve a function by pulsing red into the blue when it is crunching data.

It is nice to find an external hard drive in a rugged metal case with a built in cooling fan. Most such products are in plastic cases without a fan. Also, this unit is much smaller in overall volume than are the Maxtor and Western Digital external drives I've bought in the past. Finally, the inclusion of ESATA interface alone with the necessary adapter to make it work with a SATA based PC is a very nice touch. Unfortunately I'm using this one as the external drive for a Dish Network box, so SATA doesn't apply , but the drive also includes USB 2 connectivity.

I got this today to expand my DVR. I opened it up right away to make sure everything was secure inside, it was. I got a WD Caviar SE produced in July 2007. Better than the Seagate IMO.
Mine looked totally different, more like the CAUM37500, but it is labeled on the box in three places as CAXM37500 and once on the device itself. I read a couple of reviews that said this drive had a fan that could be turned on or off. Mine has no fan. The product description says nothing about a fan. sol.
I plugged the drive into a laptop to make sure it worked and the USB picked it up immediately. Next was the DVR, turning the drive on and plugging it in had no effect, had to power down the DVR. Lost all the shows I had recorded, but that's an issue with the DVR. It works though and that's all that counts. Good drive, gets a little hot though.

I hooked this drive up via USB, my computer recognized it immediately as a drive. I downloaded a free backup utility, indicated what directories to backup, and all is well. It is great to have Outlook, iTunes, and pictures safe & sound. In the event of a crash, there will be no worries. Fan noise is about the same as a desktop computer. The power light is super bright - plan to have to cover it up with something. I would recommend this product - great price - great value.

Got one 500 Gig. They are so cool, just got another one to backup the first one. The SATA works perfectly, plus they include a do-it-yourself kit so you can mosey on into your mobo and hook up the incredible SATA speed yourself. These drives so far are perfect, come fully formatted as 'active/partitioned' drives. Literally plug them in and you're set.
The instructions are about as big as a playing card, and even the semi-confident dad or mom can install the cool kit that will make available the SATA rear port (comes with the extra SATA cable that you need as well).
The form-factor is excellent as well as the cool-factor. I bought TWO!

If you are new to sound systems and this is your first time buying one, and all you want is quality sound at a decent price this is definetly the system for you. took me about 10-15 min to assemble and place the speakers where i wanted them. the cords are all color coded so it makes it very easy to set up. it comes with the ipod attachment so i could listen to my music anytime. i got the HDMI cable for the sound and couldnt be happier with the quality. action movies shake the room and classical movies or music sounds great with deep bass and crisp, clear notes. if you are looking for a stylish system with great sound look no further, i would definetly recommend this product.

I bought this system to replace my 7 year old dream system and I am real glad that I did. I originally thought about a 2.1 channel system in order to eliminate the rear wires, but none of them really wowed me. After reading every review I could find, I decided to purchase a 5.1 and do it right. I ordered it from amazon.com and it was shipped for free and arrived in a few days. (Ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived on Tuesday)This system is easy to assemble(took me an hour taking my time) It also looks great and most importantly, sounds awesome.

I recently had to buy a new receiver for my bedroom stereo.I bought a Sherwood from a local electronics emporium mainly because it was inexpensive(100 watts for a little over $100).Only problem was there was no Tape Monitor jacks or switch for my outboard equalizer.I had to find a way to pump up the turntable tones so I looked for a Preamp.Thanks to AMAZON this Pyle unit was offered(I am familiar with the brand as I had 12" Pyle Drivers in my old Peavey Mace back in the '80's).I run it through the line II jacks and it sounds fine except I need to turn up the volume about a quarter turn to match CD volume.Otherwise everythings cool.Vinyl Forever,Amen.

This preamp works great for the money. I have had no problems with it and it boosts the sound plenty so i can listen to all my records. The only thing i could ask for would be an on/off switch. Other then that this is a nice little addition to any set up.

This pre-amp is attached to a professional (DJ) turntable and feeds a good amp and speakers. To my inexpert ear, the sound produced is as good as that from my other system, which has a phono pre-amp costing five times as much.

It works, it sounds great. It was not expensive. I use it to connect a Audio Technica Phono Cartridge to a Griffin Technology iMic USB External Sound Card. The iMic is supposed to be able to handle vinyl without a pre-amp, but the result sounded muddy to my ear. With the Pyle PreAmp in the signal path, I got beautiful, rich sound from my records, the way they used to sound. I can see on the scope that when there is no signal, the pre-amp generates a flat waveform: no noise from the preamp. It works. I'm happy.

The game is in the vein of the show so if you like the destruction and absurdity of the show you'll enjoy the game. This is a button masher game, but it does have a little skill requirement as it uses just about every part of the wii remote. Worth it for anyone who wants a party beat 'm up game. A little boring in single mode. It's a battle game threw-n-threw.

A good filtration system is as important as any tool in your shop, and the Jet AFS-1000 is a pretty inspired machine. Like other systems on the market, Jet's uses a two-filter process: an outer filter removes particles up to 5 microns in size and an inner, three-pocket filter traps particles as small as 1 micron. The electrostatic outer filter easily withstands three or four washings, and the inner filter can be blown clean easily with compressed air. On the power end, Jet's three-speed, 1/6-horsepower motor filters to 1044 cfm on high speed. The outer filter is well sealed and provides efficient intake. However, what really sets the AFS-1000 apart from most filtration systems is its remote control and timer features. Since these systems are most effective when placed high or hung from the ceiling, being able to control all of the unit's functions via remote control is a feature we quickly decided we wouldn't want to live without. My Jet shop air cleaner arrived damaged like a lot of the other reviewers' did. The problem was one of the support arms for the fan was bent causing the fan to wobble and get stuck on it's own housing. This was pretty easy to see from the air exit vent. It looked like it would be pretty easy to fix so I removed the fan (six hex-head screws, disconnected wire connector and cut ground wire). I had to fashion a small spacer and bend a little metal but in about 20 minutes the fan was fully functional. Reinstalling the fan and splicing the ground wire was easy and now the air cleaner works exactly as advertised. My shop dust is virtually eliminated and the unit was fairly easy to ceiling mount (which I did with eye bolts and carabiners). The remote is great and the timer works well. On the highest speed the unit is pretty loud but moving 1000 cubic feet of air what would you expect? I only mark it down since I had to fix it before use but I think the repair was much easier than sending it back for a return or exchange. I'd take a chance and order the Jet if you need the remote feature and aren't afraid to take something apart if nessessary.

I've been a woodworker in earnest for about 12 years, and this is the first air cleaner of this type that I've purchased. The unit arrived after about 2 weeks and the packaging and shipping were fine--no damage to box or unit. The unit is well made, sturdy, and in my judgment powerful.
I am impressed with this item: it performs as advertised. I installed a pre-filter (size 1"x12"x24", I believe) to extend the life of the two included filters. This prefilter is now loaded with fine cherry dust, even though I use a central vacuum system. With the unit on high speed my basement shop air clears in a hurry. I mounted the unit to the ceiling and have found no discernible vibration to the room above. I'd buy this unit again.

I thought my shop was clean with the fit of my dust collection system, but when I hooked this thing up it made all the difference and the remote is kinda small but I have 10' ceilings in my shop and makes it a lot easier to turn off and on. Thats Jet for a quality product.

This item should be one of the first purchases if you are going to do woodworking. I work in my garage and before I got it, I use to still smell the wood dust even days after I've worked. After getting it, I can turn it on and leave it running for an hour or two and the smell is gone.
I like the timer feature so you can just leave it on for a couple of hours.

I thought about getting one of these for awhile and I finally did for my 1 car garage shop. The unit is quieter than most tools in the shop and I use hearing protection anyway so I don't really hear it. I found the remote to work fine, doesn't seem unidirectional in my set up at all. The one I noticed is that the unit will come on by itself sometimes. My theory is the timer is rudimentary so if I set it for 2 hours and manually turn it off before the 2 hours is up, the timer kicks the switch after 2 hours even if it is turned off so the timer turns it on. I could have a defective unit but that's my theory. It's not a problem and I and my love the filter. I think it's a fine worthwhile purchase.

This mount was surprisingly heavy and I thought the combination of it's weight and that of my SONY KDL-46XBR2 would be too much for the wall. But as long as you find TWO wall studs at least 12 inches apart to run the lag screws into, it will be fine. There are lots of slots on the mount to enable you to adjust for stud spacing which was a good thing since the studs were not spaced the same throughout my (interior) wall. The instructions were pretty straight forward, but installing the universal mounting bracket assembly to the back of the tv was somewhat confusing, particularly the part about installing the griplates. The photo shows the griplates installed between the tv and the bracket with a screw in each position, but I wasn't comfortable with the small screw head in the long slots. So I installed griplates on both sides of the bracket. (There were eight included with the mount.
There were a TON of screws and other hardware that came with the mount so that if there are mounting holes on the back of your tv, there's probably screws for it in this kit. The mount pulls out from the wall for easy access to cables and swivels towards the dinner table !! One final note: It is HIGHLY recommended that you get a friend to help install this mount and your TV. The weight of the mount itself is 70 lbs, and my TV weighs 74 lbs without the stand.

I am extremely impressed with this product. The engineering and design are the best available and the price is fantastic.
I hold a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering so I consider myself to be very critical of mechanical components, and I am nothing but impressed with this one.
There is nothing under-engineered about this mount, I bolted the base on the wall myself and then just had a friend come over for the lift to set the TV on it. I then put a 3' level on the tv and just tightened the three adjustment screws until it was absolutely perfectly level. The TV has been mounted for a few months now and hasn't sagged at all.
The very best feature is the long bar that extends across the back of the TV, if you hold that bar you can very easily and confidently pull the TV out, tilt it and push it back. My wife loves it, where she might normally be timid about moving a wall mounted anything that weighs almost 100 pounds, she has no problems adjusting the tv.
I looked at four other mounts in person, this is a 100% rec, don't buy anything else.

Thoroughly well engineered and easy to install. It looks like professionals did it. Two people are necessary to install, but it is not difficult. My wife and I were able to complete the installation in less than 1 hour. It pays to read the instructions and follow them to the letter.

This thing is super sturdy and I'm sure it's an absolutely wonderful mount... for the TV it works on. Unfortunately I had a hard time finding the list of supported TVs, my bad for not searching harder I suppose. In the end it turns out it doesn't support my 46" Sharp Aquos. The only TVs this will not support are TVs that have their mounting screws less than 8" apart on the rear of the television as that's how wide the plate is the TV mounts to. If you have a 46" Sharp Aquos you're going to need to remove (no easy task) the two lips that contain the support screws on the mounting plate... probably not the safest alternative but since Sharp does have their mounting screws so close together the effect (i'm hoping) should be pretty minimal. If you have an Aquos be sure to measure the distance between those screws before ordering or simply look elsewhere.
UPDATE - The mount just survived a 5.6 Earthquake just fine. Sturdy like a rock and no flex when extended. Good stuff.
