Very happy with the service from Amazon.com. Product actually arrived 1 day before the ETA.
Also very happy with the quality and speed of the printer.

Good printing quality but a little slow.......2007-12-08

Printer is a little too bulky and prints slowly in comparison to other HP printers. Print quality is good. HP claims that printer saves on printing cost because of the multiple ink wells. Printer arrived without a cable causing another week of delay to set up the printer.
Choose another printer. Nothing special about this one!

Colors not true.......2007-11-12

I am disappointed in my HP K5400 Officejet Pro Color Printer. The output is fast, but the colors are not true. There is a dullness and no mater how you adjust the color balance, the colors are distorted.

May Have Problems.......2007-10-30

I purchased one in October 2007 that never did work correctly. It would print half a page, then 2-4 pages of gibberish, followed by the intended page. Anything less than half a page (photo, sentences in MSWord, etc.) printed without error. After several days of tests and correspondence with HP, I was told that it was defective. The red flag went up when HP said that they needed my credit card number in order to replace it. Thankfully Amazon allowed me to return it for a refund. I still need a color printer, but am staying FAR away from HP.

Stay away from this money-eating piece of junk!.......2007-11-21

This printer does not work.

I have spent over 2 hours on the phone, both times to get replacements for printing heads. This was after little to no use of this printer, mere months after buying it.

Then, this thing will empty your ink cartridges whether you use them or not. I have printed 3 color pictures only, and always select to print in low-quality, black only. Yet, I now have to replace ALL 4 cartridges (80$ total) for the SECOND time because this thing thought my black text needed more cyan and yellow in it.

I am so sick and tired of this thing. It has cost me over 200$ in ink alone, for 100 pages of low-quality text.

Also, the firmware upgrade program crashed and my printer can't even work at all anymore.

I am never buying HP again.

HP Officejet Pro K550 printer- Major Dissapointment.......2007-10-29

My experience with this printer pretty much mirrors the experiences of the other negative reviews. My major complaint is that it will misprint on 2-3 sheets of paper instead of one. When printing Quickbboks checks, instead of putting several checks in the tray, I have to feed one check at a time. I've downloaded driver updates with no success. Save your money and buy another brand of printer.

Decent Quality.......2007-09-27

I've had this printer for over a week now and it hasn't jammed or anything. I did notice that sometimes there is black/yellow smearing from the printheads. I expected better quality, but overall, it's decent for the cost per black printed page; what is it--like 1.5 cents??? Can't complain.

This printer continuously jams. I waste paper. I waste ink. It prints on multiple pages, grabbing chunks of paper at a time. The jams are annoyingly often enough that I don't print as much as I initially intended to. I'm waiting for this one to die completely so I can purchase a better one.... it won't be long. And the ink it goes through is amazing for as many times as I can't print because it's jammed!

Good Solid Work Printer.......2007-09-17

This printer has provided solid service for a home based business. It is fast with excellent output free of banding in graphs. This is the third of this model printer, all of which are serving me well, and are without the problems stated in other reviews. The first K550 printer I purchased probably has printed over 100,000 pages and the output is excellent, no need to replace printheads yet.

My only complaint is that the printer has a lot of torque so if you don't have a solid desk or printer stand, it will cause considerable movement of whatever it is sitting upon. Doesn't affect the output quality but it is a consideration if you have the printer on the same surface you are working.

The only other concern is that paper handling is just a little short of perfect. It is sensitive to the slightest irregularities in paper stacking in the feed bin which may cause more than one sheet to pull through. I would say this may occur once every 250 to 300 sheets of paper. I dropped the rating one star because of this.

All in all, I would purchase another of these models if production required it because it is so outstanding in all the areas mentioned with just a couple minor flaws. No other printer tested comes close to this printer in price and quality of output.
