When downloading music to your M250 it takes forever. I previsouly had a creative Muvo MP3 player & the downloads was flawless. Also the battery door is loose & rattles. When you press the buttons, sometimes it takes 2-3 presses for it to register to move onto the next song. Very annoying. I wouldn't reccommend this product to anyone. My advice is to buy a Creative Brand MP3 player since they're close to the same price. Plus they rock. I just ordered a new Muvo m100 2GB MP3 player & should have it in a few days. This SanDisk is going on eBay.

I went through two of these within 2 weeks. Both had the same problem. After only a few hours of use, they just froze, then the display just went blank and could no longer use it.
The reason I bought it in the first place was because I didn't want to jump on the ipod band wagon. Well, after my experience with this hunk of junk I did, and I am very happy with my Ipod nano. Save yourself some time and headache, just buy an ipod nano =)

The Zen V Plus is the way to go. I ebjoy mine so much and by the way itt does lots of different things. You can download pictures onto it,you have access to fm radio and also a mike to record into . the sound is superb and the are many other things that you can do with it. get one it's awesome and cool.

This is actually my second Zen V Plus, as a spare in case I forget the other one :0)
I've had one for about 6 months now. The single most impressive aspect of this product for me, as trivial as it may seem, is the quality of the earphones. I've put it through hell and high water and they're still going. I've a tendency to plow through headphones, you see, but these stood up to me, and I respect them for it.
The music was easy to upload (I never actually installed the software, I just used windows media player). The quality of the sound is impeccable, and I'm a bit of a nit-picker. This tiny device can also crank it up real loud; I've never gone past 12 of the possible 25, even on my new york city subway commutes.
I've never made use of the FM radio much, although it did strike me as having a bit shaky reception sometimes, but in all fairness it worked tolerably well.
As mine aged, it found that pressing the lower arrow button was also in fact depressing the upper play/pause button and that was a bit annoying. I have to be careful to press the lower part of that button to prevent this.
A feature that is lacking is the ability to append an entire album or artist to the Now Playing list on the device, it only lets you do individual songs. Of course, this might just be me not having read the manual properly or something.
I am overall very happy with this product, it's a great buy and I recommend it to anyone who would listen.

my zen finally went ka ptt ,bought it this summer,first the screen went dark, a common problem it seems. I could deal with it i just had to learn to navigate with no screen ,but then it started freezin up, the buttons wouldnt work, i would have to turn it off then on again for it to work.Now today i`ve had to reset it several times and now its really froze, wont turn off, no sound no screen, and my pc isnt recognizing the device. NO THANK YOU, enough, finish ,,bye bye zen.. all i can say is do some research before spending your hard earned dough,,which is why im here lookin for a new mp3 player.

I knew nothing about MP3 players except the last time I bought one it was so confusing I gave it to my teenage niece, who loved it. This one, once I had it charged is easy to use. I use it for listening to audio books while I knit or sew. I thought the software was a little confusing when I tried to download the first audio book to it but after reading the inst. again it was fine.
No Quality Control.......2007-12-16
I had a unit that was bad on purchase. They replaced it, seemed ok until it froze and I to reset it. Guess what? There was no reset button in the reset hole! It cant be reset. This unit froze a couple of times when disconnecting it from USB port, even though no transfers were in progress. It timed out and worked fine, but when it had to be reset, no way!
They want $40 to "fix" it. Its $25 for "diagnosis and handling" and $15 for "handling" just to get the RMA! A new one is $74. A new SANSA is also about $80. So why bother paying $40 to get a refurbished one?

Great MP3 Player for the price.......2007-12-08
You probably won't find a better MP3 player for the price. While it has its flaws and occasionally buggy performance, the combination of size and features more than compensates for its shortcomings imo.
Pros:
1. Small size
2. Direct USB connection - no need to carry a USC cable around with you (although it comes with a small USB extension cable for use if you need it)
3. Doubles as a USB drive - I have had no problems storing all kinds of files on it
4. Syncs well with Windows Media Player or simply by drag and drop
5. FM player and recorder
6. Charges fairly quickly from computer
7. Decent battery life
8. Good sound quality
9. Micro SD expandable memory slot
Cons:
1. Prone to occasional glitches such as screen freezes (I found that connecting it to a live USB port will fix these problems)
2. Sound quality of FM recording is average at best
3. FM radio appears to mainly use headphones as antenna - may need to find the right pair of headphones for best FM signals
4. User interface could be slightly better
The headphones that come with the device provide decent sound and FM radio signal but are not comfortable (to me). I purchased another pair immediately. I would update the device's software as soon as you get it to improve reliability. Use the device lock and remember to turn it off when you're done using it to avoid the battery from running out - it is easy to turn on accidentally.

I bought the Sansa Express because I needed a flash drive for school and liked the idea of being able to just plug headphones in and listen to the music files. This was the best,not to mention cheapest,UMS mp3 player(flash drive mp3 player) I found, so I ordered it. It is EXACTLY what I needed. I didn't need any software other than Windows/WMP. All the features it mentions are there and work great. The only problem I had was that every once in a while when I disconnected it from the PC, it (the sansa, not the PC)locked up. All I did was connect back to the computer and it started up right. Other than that, it works just like you expect and is definitely a five.

I really like the small size and easy to use features of this player. The USB port charging is extremely convenient since you can recharge it on any computer without worrying about carrying the cord with you all the time. Copying music onto it is easy. The FM radio is a nice feature when you cant decide what music to listen to. Its very lightweight so easy to bring with you everywhere. The MicroSD slot means you can add more music easily. I wasnt impressed with the original earphones, but once I changed them, the sound was much better.

This is just fine for my needs. I didn't want anything too fancy or too complicated. Easy downloading, easy to use. I wish the buttons were a little bigger but overall it's perfect for my needs. I just wanted a player to listen to mp3's and that is what I got. I'm happy.

I've been very pleased w/ this little unit after a month of use now. The ability to plug it into any system and drag-drop is a huge plus for me. I don't like having to install software just to manage a MP3 player. I've not measured the battery life but it's impressive. I listen to audio books frequently on it and it starts up mid-track, right where I left off, very nice. The mirror finish front picks up prints etc but they wipe off w/ a finger swipe and it hasn't scratched yet, seems durable.

My son got this for Christmas and my Daughter got an Ipod. The Walkman is SO much easier to use! Very user friendly, has FAR MORE features than the ipod and you don't have to deal with the "i" software or syncing thru apple. This player works fabulous with Windows Media Player. It's fast and so easy to upload, select, sync...everything you need to do in no time flat! The iPod is confusing, the buttons are strange and not very user friendly. I wish I had bought one of these for my daughter and not wasted my money on a iPod! This is a FABULOUS player for songs, video, pics...EVERYTHING! Very Easy to navigate!! I LOVE IT and my son is THRILLED!!!

I bought this mp3 player for my son, and it is a piece of junk. We had to replace the first one because it wouldn't boot up, and now we're taking back the second. I will never buy a SanDisk mp3 player again.

The new Sandisk Sansa Clip has the advantages of the iPod shuffle with some of the compatibility, feature, and price benefits of other MP3 players. Unlike the Sansa Express, which you can plug in directly into your USB port, the clip uses a standard USB B cable.
The Clip is definitely a little bigger than the iPod shuffle, but not by much. It has a great feel and a nicer clip. It is also priced VERY well for the holidays. It fills the market for a starter MP3, workout unit, or gift.
The rechargable battery seems better than the Creative Zen Stone Plus and gives you a respectable 15 hours. The sound is nice. The earbuds are passable for beginners but most people will replace them. As for durability, only time will tell; so far it's holding up nicely.
I definitely recommend the larger 2GB option. For those needing more space, you will have to explore the Creative Zen, Sandisk Sansa, Sansa View or new iPod Nano. All of those units have higher price tags.

This item is great I picked it up in black Friday at Best Buy. This little mp3 player sounds so much better than my Zune. It has a good bass and works well with my cheap earbuds. I can't wait to try it with my ultimate ear headphones. It is a great little device with a clip. I like this device so much I will try out one of their e200 series mp3 player.
The New Leader In Small MP3 Players.......2007-12-12
BACKGROUND: I was in the market for a small MP3 player with primary usage at the gym. I was looking for a rechargeable unit as my previous player ate AAA batteries about every week or so. I considered three options of which the Sansa Clip was one of them. I eliminated the iPod Shuffle due to its cost and lack of display. The other primary contender was the Creative Zen Stone Plus (I rejected the non-Plus model due it its lack of display). I will reference how the Sansa Clip won out throughout the rest of the review.
SET UP: The Sansa Clip is about as simple as it gets in this area. It requires no additional software installation. My home system runs XP SP2 with Windows Media Player 11. When I plugged the player in to charge, it was detected and recognized automatically. I told windows to "Take No Action" as the default behavior when the device connects. This allows me to maintain complete control over the syncing process. My unit charged in about an hour.
MUSIC TRANSFER: You have the option of using simple drag and drop of MP3 files to the device as you would a USB flash drive. However, using Windows Media Player allows you the more advanced feature of playlists. Since I primarily use my MP3 player at the gym, I created multiple playlists for warm up, workout, and cool down. The workout lists are about 90 minutes while the others about 20 minutes. I really liked that I was able to create multiples of each for variety. Right now I have three of each with about 1.5 Gb still remaining to use as I please. Using Windows Media Player, you can sync albums, songs, or playlists as you would with any other device. The Sansa Clip fully supports all of these options so it is a nice low effort, highly functional set up.
SOUND QUALITY: This is an area where the Sansa Clip is pretty impressive. I previously had the Sansa M230, and I can tell a significant difference in sound quality. I am able to hear a lot more detail in the higher ranges (such as high hat cymbals). I am using the headphones that came with the unit, but I would image that higher quality headphones would sound even better. The player also has a series of preset equalizer settings for different music styles as well as one that you can customize.
DISPLAY: This is a distinguisher between the Clip and the Zen Stone Plus. The display is larger and easier to read. The mix of blue and yellow against the black background is also pleasant.
NAVIGATION: The Clip has a normal four button dial that is common to most small MP3 players. With the crisp, clear display it is easy to move around and select music by artist, album, song, or playlist. The only thing that I have noticed that doesn't work quite the way I would like is that if you navigate away from the song that is playing there doesn't seem to be a way to get back to it to see the details of what's playing. This is pretty minor, though, because I do not regularly navigate away from the song that is playing.
FM RADIO: This is about what you would expect from a unit with no external antenna. Strong signals come in clearly, but it is not going to match what you can pick up on your car stereo. This is a nice to have feature for me so it is plenty adequate.
OPTIONS: As I mentioned previously, my primary usage comes at the gym. I had used the song timer to measure the time between reps while lifting weights on my M230. However, the Clip has a power saving feature that shuts off the display after 15 seconds by default. However, you can change this to 30, 45, 60, or 90 seconds which should cover your needs. After adjusting mine, I wake up the display after completing a set. When the display shuts off, it's time for the next set.
USE ON THE GO: This is the other area where the Clip separates itself from the Zen Stone Plus. You can clip the player to your clothes or an arm strap (I use the one that came with my M230). The Zen Stone Plus requires purchase of a separate armband accessory for an additional $15.
COST: At base price, the Zen Stone Plus and Sansa Clip are a push. However if you factor in another $15 for an armband you have a clear winner given the other advantages.
CONCLUSION: The Sansa Clip is now the leader in 2 Gb small MP3 players. Give it a spin and you won't be disappointed.

This product is faulty. First, Windows (depends on how updated it is) recognizes it as a MTP device. Theorically you could use as a USB storage device but when Windows recognizes it as MTP device, it does not show up on your computer's folder. This can also happen when you install the software that comes with it.. so don't. When moving certain kinds of files to it, it messes up its configuration and it hangs in an infinite loop "CREATING DATABASE.. " I could not stop this for a while and then I searched for a firmware update. After searching on US sony website and Europe's site, I found it on sony japanese site. Had to remove everything in it to update and format (yeah.. updating was not enough). This device is not worth the hassle. I am computer savvy person but I am disappointed about how difficult has owning this device has turn out to a friend of mine. Cannot be return .. Thinking of selling it. Don't buy this product. It is not worth it.
Okay purchase.......2007-12-24
I very like the fact that I do not need some complex program to download to my computer to just access my music files from the player and I do like that it's so easy to add musics and files in it with few clicks from my computer to the player itself. But there is some missing things like a repeat option for the songs, there is no clipper where I can hang it up when I work out. The screen is not the best quality, I wasn't impress about the screen at all and I would have expected more from sony about on that...
But it's affordable, the sound is great, of course you have to get your own good earphones, since the original ones that comes in the box aren't the best... not to say cheap.
I am using it, it's working fine... but could have been better. I had a ipod shuffle before, it had a clip so it was practicle working out with it. It was smaller too, but of course, less memory space and no screen like the sony one. But I have to admit, the ipod shuffle is way lighter and smaller than the sony.

This MP3 player is great, u don't have to use cables to synch or charge it. Has FM radio, voice recorder and u can even record your favorite FM program on a MP3 file. The sound quality is amazing (like all Sony's products) and is very portable. I don't know why most of the people prefer the iPod Shuffle instead of this one... and is more cheapear too!.
I think Apple only sells fashion tech products instead of something that worth. Buy it... I recommend it!
Exceeded My Expectations.......2007-12-14
I was very positively impressed by the ease of loading content on to this Walkman, charging it, battery life, and audio quality. The earphones that come with the device are light and easy to use. I am happy with the 2 gigabyte capacity. The "hold" wheel lock on the back allows the push-button controls to be temporarily suspended, which is perfect when keeping the Walkman in a pocket while doing some manual activity. I am glad that I bought this product rather than some similar competitor products. I would recommend it, and consider it an excellent value.

Was OK for first few months.......2007-11-25
I got the first generation nano 2GB as a xmas present back in 2005. I thought it was great,until March 2006. I was using it one day when it just froze. It came back about 24 hours later. It froze about every 2 months after that. I am now fed up with Apple and thank god, I lost my iPod the other day. I was glad! I later went to buy.com and ordered a Zune 30GB for about $100. What a deal that is! I am trying to make a promise to myself not to buy an Apple product again. Steve Jobs can go take his iPod and iPhone and stick it up his a$$!
Poor battery quality - a real bummer .......2007-10-24
While it looks functional, unfortunately this little guy has an extremely low battery life - making it practically useless. I have not yet explored getting this fixed but imagine that once I do, I will end up having paid quite a bit more - ultimately not saving the money that I thought I would.

I have owned a black 1st gen 2GB iPod for about a year, and I'm not happy. I had very few problems with it until recently, the buttons on it stopped working and doing apples recommended "5 r's" did not help. I called apples technical service line and guess what...THEY WOULD NOT EVEN TALK TO ME...unless your ipod is still under the 1 year warranty, they will not give any help, at all, none. They did however refer me to their online forums...what a joy...here I find 20 other people with he same problem I'm having, with still no answers. I found no "authorized ipod technician" on these forums, just a bunch of frustrated customers with unanswered questions. Apple refuses to acknowledge that there is a problem and don't seem too keen on fixing it.
If you do still plan on buying this product (and I don't recommend it) at least buy an extended service plan like I did. When I got mine Bestbuy offered a 2 year "Product Replacement Plan" basically you can send your ipod in any time within 2 years for any problem and they will send you a voucher which is in-store credit for the cost of the ipod when you bought it + any tax, A great deal in my opinion, I think it only cost an extra $30

There's not really much that I can say about an iPod that hasn't already been said. I love my iPod Nano. It's stylish, small, reliable, easy to use, and loud. I'm far from disappointed in this product and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a portable music player.
