Wireless headphones? Does it means sound quality?.......2007-12-14
I bought this wireless headphones expecting at least good sound quality. It didn't fit my expectations because the sound quality is poor and sometimes it gets some kind of interference and you have to tune it constantly. Anyway this headphones are good to use in watching movies or tv but not to listen hi-fi music.
If you're even a slight audiophile, don't buy this........2007-12-13
These AW722 headphones are sound about as good as cheap boom box. There's hardly any bass, not much depth, and only so so clarity. If all you do is listen to the TV and aren't too picky about sound, these are probably good enough for you. But if you're interested in listening music with a rich overall sound, get something else. I listened to my friend's AW771 with the 40mm drivers and they were pretty good for being wireless. I'll see if I can find a set of those.
Uncomfortable.......2007-12-11
These are very uncomfortable and, in my opinion, unusable. They look like they would fit snugly around the ear, but don't. The plastic covering the speakers comes into contact with the ear. Without a snug fit, they don't mute external sound at all, and when you move you constantly hear the sound of your ear rubbing against the plastic speaker covers.
Good sound, easy to recharge, wireless freedom.......2007-12-10
SOUND QUALITY: 4 out of 5
These headphones produce a flat sound (treble and bass don't overpower the mids). The bass tends to kicks in more as the volume is increased. Wireless reception is fairly clear, however some hiss/whitenoise is audible if the volume is set high on the headset. This seems to be a common issue for any 900 MHz headphones. To minimize the hiss, it helps to turn up the volume on the input source (TV, stereo, PC, etc.) as much as possible and try not to max out the volume on the headset. A stronger signal from the source will also give you more range and minimize interference. I have a 5.8 GHz phone, 802.11g wifi (2.4 GHz), GSM mobile phone (1900 MHz), and an LCD TV all within 10 ft of the base and haven't noticed any interference problems. If you move around a lot, it may experience some interference similar to terrestrial radio the farther you get from the base.
COMFORT: 4 out of 5
The cans are about 1/4" deep, so they press down on my ears a little. I can wear them for a couple hours before I start to feel a little discomfort around my ears. But at least they are relatively light and don't cause any major neck strain for me. They might even be okay to wear while running on a treadmill, though I haven't tried it. I am a size 7 hat size, but these headphones should have no problems fitting larger heads. The top headband is cushioned and the earpieces are adjustable on all 3-axis. The cans block out about 30% of the exterior noise, so you can definitely still have a conversation with them on.
BATTERIES/CHARGING: 3 out of 5
To charge the batteries, you just set the headphones into the base and the charging light will turn on. It really is idiot proof and I don't understand how anyone would have problems. The batteries are standard NiMH rechargeable batteries and go into the left earpiece. Some negative points: The charge indicator shows a red color when charging, but there's no indicator to show when the batteries are fully charged. Also, I can hear a very high pitched noise/squeal when the headphones are charging on the base (possibly a defective unit). Most people may not notice it, but if you have sensitive ears, it may annoy you if you are within a feet away of the base while charging. I usually charge mine overnight while I'm sleeping, so it's not a big enough reason to exchange it. You can also remove the batteries and recharge them in a separate charger. Non-rechargeable alkaline AAA batteries may be used as well (don't charge them in the base however).
CONTROLS: 4 out of 5
The power button, volume, and fine tuning controls are on the right earpiece. I had no problem tuning it to pick up the signal from the base. Once it's tuned, you rarely have to adjust it. You will know when the batteries are low because the volume will get lower or sound will cut out because it's too weak to pick up the base signal. If you plan to use these headphones with your TV, be sure your TV allows you to adjust the volume when outputting via RCA or headphone jack.
CONCLUSION:
It's obvious the AW722 doesn't output reference quality sound, but for $50 I think it serves its intended purpose well. If you want better sound isolation and higher wireless fidelity, you'll have to spend a lot more or go with wired headphones. But for casual listening to music or when watching TV, these headphones will give you the freedom to move about and do other things without getting tangled up in a cord.

Plantronics MX150 Flexible Boom Headset with 2.5 mm Plug Plantronics MX150 Flexible Boom Headset with 2.5 mm Plug
I use this all the time. it is so comfortable that you forget you are wearing it. the ear piece is very comfortable, and the mic is wonderfully sensitive.
the only improvement I could suggest would be a "answering" button on the line from phone to ear piece/mic...
Comfortable Headset.......2007-10-24
The headset fits comfortably in my ear. The sound is great. I highly recommend it.
Good value for the money.......2007-10-24
This is a good value for the price paid. However, even though the product seems new, there was not formal packaging. It just came in a sealed small plastic bag. I don't remember anything that showed me the product was new, which is what I wanted. I must say, though, it is working fine so far.
Plantronics MX150 Head Set.......2007-10-16
I was very disappointed with the audio quality. I do not use this item.
Great product........2007-09-21
Also bought their bluetooth unit that looks like this. Both are great products with good sound, good noise canceling mics, comfortable and easy to store. Good price and fits either ear. Recommended.

Great Product.......2007-12-12
This product was exactly what I have been searching for. I have purchased four similar products in the past two years and was very disappointed. I do not know of a better product for the price and for the satisfaction it has afforded me. I am totally deaf in my left ear and partially deaf in my right ear and this was the perfect solution to my hearing problems with television, record, cd players and radios. I would recommend this product to anybody with or without a hearing problem.
amazon is great, headphones just OK.......2007-11-25
These have lots of background noise and cut out. They are fairly comfortable, though do not adjust to a small head. We need them, so they are OK, but I am not impressed. They did arrive very quickly, Amazon was great as usual and cheaper than the store.
Fabulous.......2007-09-07
I purchased the Wireless stereo headphones about 6 months ago for my very hard of hearing husband. He loves them because now he can hear the television...and I love them because I can talk on the phone or watch/listen to television at a much quieter level.
Remarkable, no interference, great sound, comfortable to wear and now a fantastically happy home.
Great Wireless Headphones !.......2007-08-24
This set of headphones is just right. Good plastic; headgear that is not overly fussy; responsive buttons with good button feel. Tuning is immediate, and the transmission is good. The ear cushions are great... very soft vinyl.
I have a earlier model AR wireless headphone set which I like, but those earlier phones are bulky, made of cheap plastic... with foam earpieces that don't feel that great.
These new AR772 phones are easy to carry and wear. The recharging unit works nicely with no fuss. The sound is great.
Teenage pacifier.......2007-08-06
My 14 year old son bought the headphones and basically has not taken them off. He loves them and walks all over the house and basement listening to his music.

etymotic ety8 bluetooth earphones review.......2007-12-18
I bought this pair of earphones for a recently purchased Samsung Yp-P2 mp3 player with built-in bluetooth. I was not sure if these would work because of the ipod adapter, but they were very easy to set up with the p2. They have fantastic sound quality, especially for bluetooth headphones. Although they do look a little strange, after a little while with them in your ears, you'll forget you have them on. They are surprisingly very lightweight. The different attachments that go in your ear were also very helpful. I have had problems with the fit of earphones, but i was able to find the right attachments for my ears with this etymotic set. The noise cancellation was surprisingly outstanding too, even though it is only noise-isolating. I could not hear people talking near me unless i put my ear right up to their mouth. My only complaint is that in the spaces between songs, their is some static. I also would not recommend purchasing these if you intend to use them for running or anything like that.
Pros
-sound quality-best i've heard so far
-great bass but not overpowering
-comfort
-ease of use
Cons
-looks
-some static
-have to hold on to right earphone while pressing controls
Prepare yourself for these earphones.......2007-09-27
Up front, I have to say, if you have no patience, don't get these. But if you're willing to give yourself a little bit of a curve to get used to them, they are worth every penny. You'll never give them up.
I've played music all my life, and sound fidelity is important to me. When I first got the ETY 8 earphones as a gift, the form almost overcame the function for me. It took some getting used to the in-ear placement of the earphones - you really have to get them placed deeply into your ear, which felt odd at first, and took some practice to be able to do quickly. Then, there was the sort of odd feel of the two pieces hanging off my ears. Plus, they look a little bit odd. OK, so I got over the oddness. The earphones are actually very light, and once you get used to the feel, you forget they're there. Because they'd been a gift, I kind of felt obligated to use them, so I powered thru the initial getting-used-to it period, and then I started to understand what these earphones are all about.
It's about real sound. Not over-cranked, duded-up bass, but real high fidelity sound. From a wireless earphone, which I didn't expect. I don't know of another pair of earphones that reproduces the original artists' sound with so faithfully. No kidding. It's really different than the deep pulsing bass you get with Bose and many other earphones on the market. You hear the individual instruments, and the color of the sound. And the noise isolation function of this type of in-ear insertion is superior. I can be riding the Muni bus downtown and be in a world of my own. Even on an airplane, the sense of uninterrupted sound clarity is flat out awesome.
If you like driving around in a car with your radio blaring and your bass shaking the drivers around you, these are not the right earphones for you. But if you are a seeker of true high fidelity sound, go for them.
I want to love these..........2007-05-28
I want to love these headphones. They are comfortable, they sound great, they noise isolate as well as any other set I own, and no wires! Other reviews say the range isn't great, but that isn't important to me - I generally have my iPod in backpack, bag, or pocket and just don't want wires dangling around me.
I was all set to give these a 5, but then I had a synchronization problem. I had my iPod in my hands, my headphones in my ears, and for whatever reason, I just couldn't hear the music - in fact, the little green light wouldn't come on on the transmitter - but the operation is just plug and play - couldn't have been a user error on my part. I sat on a plane between Portland, Oregon and Washington, D.C., cursing my headphones the whole way. Now the operation appears to be intermittent. I have no idea under what condition they will decide to work and when they won't, so I end up carrying a spare pair of earbuds with me.
Love no wires.......2007-02-26
I love not having wires for my ipod. However, these bluetooth earbuds don't hold to the usual standards of quality sound that Etymotic claims.
I find the sound quality, for the price, mid-range. My bose earbuds for $99.00 sound better with greater depth in bass. I don't agree that they look wierd since they are very small and fit well in the ear. It is great to garden and ride my bike without getting tangled in wires so I am keeping them but feel more work needs to be done on the performance. Dr.Horn
Great Sound But Poor Design and Range.......2007-02-24
Being the third bluetooth headset I bought (and the most expensive), I had high expectations of these Ety8s.
The biggest quirk is that the headphones shut off when I placed my finger near the FWD/NEXT button. Even the tech support could not understand how just getting close to the button would cause the phones to shut off, but I did not even have to press the button!
In an open gym, just 12 feet from my iPod would cause the sound to drop and stutter. I got much better range (almost 50 feet!) in the same gym with my iMuffs.
The ear plugs were also very uncomfortable when being inserted and did not get much better with time. I am used to the Shure E2c headphones, so in-ear is not new to me. With such a strange design (on top of it all, Etymotic needs to head back to the design board!

Good deal.......2007-12-01
I purchased as an add on for our 2006 Town and Country Mini Van Factory DVD system. They seem to work well. They also seem to fit my young children (3 and 5) better than the factory supplied headsets. I'm satisfied with the purchase.
Inexpensive but not very durable.......2007-04-19
I purchased one set of headphones to replace one of two that were part of a more expensive set.
At only $20 or so, this is a steal, but you get what you pay for. Reception is not as good, sound quality is not the best and those little pads continually fell off the ear piece. Ultimately, one of the sides came loose - I don't know how to explain it - and my husband glued it together.
Keep in mind my children are 7 yrs. old and 3 yrs. old - if you have older children this is probably a great deal!
surprising value.......2007-01-09
I bought these as an extra for the player we have in our van. We make a 2500 mile round trip at least once a year and my husband and I like to listen to the books on tape while the kids are watching movies. Our kids are 1,3,5 so I wasn't really expecting these to last more than a trip or two for the price. They are surprisingly sturdy, more so than the Rosens that came with the system. The sound quality is great for the kids and they fit them better than the other earphones. The only thing that may be a problem is that there is a part on the ear piece that snaps off and the kids liked to play with it at first, but it easily snaps back on without affecting performance. Overall I am extremely happy with this product.
Could be better.......2006-11-11
I purchased three of these headsets to go along with two others that we already had (one set was original to the Town & Country minivan and the other set was made by Audiovox). I like the overall quality of the headsets ok, but the thing that I like about Audiovox that this set lacks is an automatic shut off. We have replaced the batteries in all three sets already, but still haven't replaced them in the audiovox set (purchased around the same time). It is a bit irritating. I think the money I saved by buying this cheaper set is going to go towards batteries! The earpads are well cushioned and can snap off if flexed too far (I thought they had been broken at first), so that was a relief. The plastic casing is very thin and I'm afraid won't hold up all that well, but we'll see. Overall, they are a nice set if you aren't going to be using them all the time. If they are going to get frequent use I would opt for a better quality set (with an auto shut-off).

Convertible headset design - headband or over-the-ear / In-line control for volume and mute Whether you consider health, stress management or convenience, this headset is a really important accessory for you
Amazon.com Review
The Plantronics lightweight headset is designed to free your hands while you drive or work with a wireless phone. Though the unit's noise-canceling microphone makes it especially suitable for calls placed over a cell phone, it's also appropriate for use with traditional office phones.
Recipients of our phone calls reported no annoying disturbances or distortions during conversation, and audio quality on our end was clear as well, if a bit muffled. The headset works best on phones that feature good volume controls, because the microphone adjust switch raises and lowers the volume in a very narrow range.
The M175 also has the nifty feature of converting from a headband to an over-the-ear-style headset. Unfortunately, this also makes for a somewhat flimsy construction. Pieces immediately began falling off the unit as soon as we removed it from its packaging, though snapping the components back in place took little effort.
Overall, the Plantronics M175 headset is a versatile, quality headset for those looking for a hands-free way to work with their mobile or cordless phones. --John Frederick Moore
Pros:
- Lightweight design
- Good sound quality
Cons:
- Headset microphone has narrow volume range

Best Reasobly Priced Headset I've Found.......2007-10-21
This a great headset. Features I love are
1. Inline mute
2. Inline volume
3. Comfortable headset
4. Good sound quality
I work from home and spend a lot of time in conference calls. I bought this product several years ago and just replaced it with a second. I would highly recommend it.
Plantronics Headset M175.......2007-10-17
This is the second one I've purchased (my dog chewed up my first one). The headset does a great job at a good price. I've not had any problems with this headset. I just need to keep it away from my dog.
Not as good as original.......2007-09-04
I have bought 2 of the Plantronic phones and have replaced only one of the headsets. It was not the original headset that comes with the phone but has many other options.
Two gripes.
1. There isn't a red light indicator light on this headset, so when you are on the phone, people don't know if you are on the phone for sure or not.
2. There is distortion in the earpiece. A steady loud/soft sound. Quite annoying when waiting on hold and there isn't music. Almost like feedback but without the high pitched sound.
Other than that, it is a quality headset and is compatible with the phone that I have.
This is a handy product!.......2007-09-03
This product is very functional but sometimes it seems to get shorts in them and people can not hear you. Would recommend, though, it is my favorite one.

Customer Reviews:
i kind of like them!!!.......2007-11-28
The shipping was amazing it only took 2 days to arrive!!! The headset is cool the problem is that when i tried to put the adapter to the ipod with the cover on it didnt want to get in so i had to use the silicone cover that help me put on the adapter, but for better use is to not use any cover at all!!! it is kind of great because when i tried moving far away from the adapter the connection with the adapter it sort of loses connection!! But i still like it cuz i regurlary put my ipod in my backpack and i hear a perfect sound from the headset, so i am glad that i dont have to suffer the wires anymore!!
Good for the gym, but a little tight.......2007-11-22
I purchased this unit a few weeks ago from one of Amazon's 3rd party vendors. I got a very good deal, but the trade-off was that it came in a bag with no instructions. I went to the Logitech website and got things going.
The pros:
1) No wires, and the batteries last about 7 hours (I tried using them all day at work)
2) The sound is good enough. (I had been using a Shure e3, which finally broke for good out of warranty). This unit is not near as loud or as bassy as the Shure, but they don't fall off while I'm on the treadmill either.
3) Worked well for watching TV in private.
The cons:
1) Seems to need it's own bluetooth transmitter. My Powerbook bluetooth connected but the sound was so scratchy and bad that it was unusuable. Plug in the supplied transmitter and everything was fine.
2) The headband is not adjustable and my ear feels bruised after wearing them for an hour. The time I wore them all day at work won't be repeated.
The headband is almost a dealbreaker. If it wasn't for that, I'd be using these headphones all the time.
3) The unit is kind of like those watches that use one button for multiple purposes. The button on each part does something different depending on how long you hold down the button. After a couple of days I got the hang of of, but the button on the transmitter is so small, that I have to stop doing anything but holding the button down to turn it off.
Overall, I'd say wireless on a treadmill is worth the ear bruising. I can't count how many times I've accidentally hit the cord with my arm and sent my iPod flying across the room. I like to watch videos on it while on the treadmill and the bluetooth headphones make that a pleasant experience instead of constantly trying to watch the cord. People with larger heads need to know in advance that these will be tight on your ears.
Great Product.......2007-11-17
this is a great product, easily syncs to mp3 player, computer, stereo etc. long battery life, very comfortable, great to use while working out
The Best Wireless Stereo Headsets on the market.......2007-08-15
Everyone in our household has a set of these wireless headsets for all of our iPods. They work great. The battery has long life between charges. I use mine while working out and spinning and do not have to fuss with wires. Excellent choice.
Headband cracks, wire disconnects.......2007-07-19
1st set cracked in the center of the headband after about a month. Once the crack appears the headset starts to disconnect the wires at the crack and the headset stops working entirely. 2nd replacement set cracked after about two weeks. That was over a year ago, I didn't bother replacing it because why bother. Then I found out they were issuing a different design entirely as replacements (freepulse). Don't bother with this design unless it's free.

Incorrect Listing - not as pictured........2007-11-09
I ordered two of these and received a product that is completely different from the one pictured. Rather than a short cable connecting a plug and socket, the adaptor is a single, non-flexible piece. Furthermore, it does not fit the iPhone's recessed jack well enough - --the plastic gets chewed up, and the adaptor tends to come loose. Finally, one of them was defective, only carrying the left audio channel. The merchant told me that this is an incorrect listing.
