We used this product on a Sony Vaio running Win2000. It was very difficult to set up and took several calls to lynksys support and several days out of our lives. Their support is good and I can see why, their products are hard to get working and without great support they would be lost.
As it turns out this unit won't even run with the software that comes with it in our Vaio anyway and a support person on the phone instructed us on how to download boingo and use that to run it. Not all the support people know this fix.
The notebook adapter worked fine once set up with boingo but what kind of an outfit sells you a product that won't even work with their own software and requires boingo?
May never buy another cisco product.

It connects for a while, and when I change the encryption, it becomes very spotty. I try using the repair function under windows, it will fix it if you are connect to the LAN cable. The connection will fail after a while you disconnect the LAN cable. Conflicts with the Windows wireless connection.
Very unrealiable.

Everything they said it would be. I knew that because I saw people using it at the cafe. I wish it did not stick out of the computer, but then I never would have noticed others were able to do more than I could if I had not seen it sticking out of their computer.

I had the B version and just bought the G version. Setup was easy and it worked perfectly. It helps to have the information on your wireless router handy so you can get the card to communicate with your router. Normally if you type in 192.168.1.1 it will get you to router page. Click wireless then wireless security and any information you need should come up. I am very pleased with the product and reccomend it highly.
Works Well With My Linksys Wireless Router.......2007-12-05
It took awhile, but I was successful getting this wireless adapter to work in my old Windows 98SE IBM ThinkPad. The software is nicely compatable with my Linksys wireless router so I was able to use WAP encription instead of WEP (which is so easy to hack these days). The very small antenna on this PCMCIA card is sufficient to pick up a good signal anywhere in our 2 story home. (My wireless router is in the basement.)
