Save your money..........2007-12-23
Unless you have money to waste, don't buy this product. This camera is difficult to configure (the interface is below even the lowest standards of Microsoft), and only works with Internet Explorer. The specialty viewing software supplied with this camera never worked on my Dell computer, so I can only assume it is equally as bad as the camera itself.
If you want independent confirmation of just how worthless this peripheral is, check out Linksys's community support forum. It is one big joke.

Spent many hours trying to set this thing up. Tech support is a joke. They are clueless. The problem is that the software version being sent with the camera is an old version that barely works--and they have no updated version. After many hours of talking with tech support, product did not work as advertised. Amazon should drop carrying this item. Spend the extra 50 bucks and get a camera that works.
Couldn't get it to work........2007-12-08
Couldn't get it to work. After trying on two computers and and hour on the phone with the tech help, they gave up and we didn't get it to work.
I rate it a zero star. I had to put in one to make the review go.
MAC user and WVC54GC.......2007-12-04
I am doing research for school dealing with networks and video. I am a mac user so I bought this camera and was able to view the camera using a mac work around. It is not 100% stable but it works. I also have windows on my mac but the camera works just fine. I have no complaints but I don't leave it running 24/7 either.
The system was designed for windows and IE using ActiveX so it is not aimed at the mac community. A reason for the loss of a star. CISCO/LINKSYS should change the system to something more open.
Poor Performance - Not Recommended.......2007-10-15
I gave 2 stars for the product quality. Here are the details on the camera
1. Video Quality is Very Poor and pixelated
2. We are living in a time of high def and high megapixels, the captured image quality should be atleast as good as the cell phone camera and I am sorry to say that it has a poor image quality.
3. The streaming and connecting to network router is not bad.
4. Video Sensor not at all sensitive (Have to have very good light), but not lot of details are captured anyway.
5. DDNS Service will charge extra money for our own Internet address and usage.
I did the best possible testing for one day and this camera is going back. I am replacing this with Panasonic BL-C131A Network Camera

If you have access to a wireless broadband network, the Linksys WVC54GC wireless color camera works very well in nest camera applications up to a distance of approximately 100-150 feet from the router. By using a wireless network range extender(Linksys WRE54G), the distance between the camera and the network can be increased.
