Stellar.......2006-02-24
Who ever heard of Hyundai as a monitor manufacturer? Who ever heard of Image Quest (not me)? But shopping for a new office system several weeks ago, a Hyundai L72S practically jumped off the shelf for me. I tried to adjust all the other "name brand" monitors in the store to match it but there was no contest.
The L72S has crappy little built-in speakers but I needed them for work (sometimes your computer tries to tell you things with sound). I have a good sound system on my home computer, but after two days working with the new monitor at the office I knew I had to have one at home, too. Happily, I found the B70A (which apparently may also be had with an audio option). Nirvana! Incredibly sharp images and text, vibrant colors. What more could anybody want?
One thing that contributes to the B70A's sleek design is having all the controls mounted on the BACK of the monitor, just behind the right-hand edge - keeps it looking sleek while viewing. It is a bit awkward at first, feeling your way around blindly back there. In my experience, I fiddle with these controls a fair amount in the first few days of adjusting a new monitor to my own preferences and then don't touch these buttons again for months at a time, and then usually just because I am bored. Nonetheless, while I see this as an aesthetic benefit of this model I can see how some users may find this annoying.
Very stable on the table, can be tilted back quite far (past the balance point, in fact), viewable from very wide angles.
Don't hesitate to buy one of these.
Great Monitor; Good Price!.......2005-12-07
I just purchased this monitor and I must say that it's an incredible monitor, and the affordable price just tops it off. The B70A provides an incredibly sharp and crystal clear image (0.264mm pitch!) which is great for clear text and web browsing. The constrast spectrum and brightness is also very nice. Physically, the LCD is sleek and sexy with it's tiny footprint, thin display, and tiny trim/border. I'd describe the design as "no nonsense." No crappy built on speakers and the overall size is only slightly larger than the LCD itself (the way it should be). As a web developer that spends most of his day behind a monitor, I wouldn't think twice about buying this $230 display over a $300 Viewsonic or Samsung - anyday!

Poor quality shows.......2003-09-04
Like their cars, these guys make cheap, poor-reliability products. The flat-panel TV seems a great deal at first. [Update: many other manufacturers now have lower-cost models that are better quality.] But after a couple weeks, you realize it cuts lots of corners. The picture gets fuzzy and blocky more than other LCD TV's; this is especially perceptible when you watch DVDs. The contrast is also pretty bad. Above all, my friend, this is a low-quality monitor made to work for no more than a couple months. You are just not getting your money's worth from this. For the same money or just a little bit more you can get a namebrand, Sharp, Panasonic, Envision... and many times better quality and enjoyment. Amen.
Monitor has some shortcomings.......2003-07-02
As far as a monitor, I think it is a good one. It seems bright and sharp. The TV aspect has some things about it I don't like. First, it comes with an external TV tuner which must be connected to a port on the back of the display. I tried very hard to determine if this was the case before I ordered it, but could not from the various descriptions I could find on the web. It is however pretty small and not a major inconvenience, but I still would prefer one built in. Next, it has a very limited remote control. No direct number input for channel selection, just up and down arrows. There are 5 input choices for this display and you must step through them all to get to the one you want. No direct selection on the remote. This is a real negative to me. Now for the display itself. For TV viewing it is fair. Not as sharp and focused as using it for a computer monitor. On tuner input everything is just a little fuzzy. Not near as good as a CRT TV. It is step better using the s-video input, but this means you must have another tuning device between it and the TV signal. If you have a sat. receiver using s-video or composite video inputs is the best choice. The most annoying feature to me is the strange ghost image that is left on the screen. To clarify, if you are watching something like a baseball game, they usually have a box score at the top or the corner of the screen that stays there all the time. When they go to commercial, you can still see a faint or ghost image of that information. It slowly fades after a minute or two, so it is nothing permanent. The same thing happens when I display the channel guide. After you exit the channel guide, you can still see its ghost for about a minute or two. Maybe this wouldn't bother some people, but it just doesn't seem normal to me. What is most puzzling is the same thing does not happen when it is being used for a comp. monitor. No residual image at all when moving between web pages or other o.s. windows. Hard for me to figure this one out without talking to tech. support. It is a nice unit cosmetically and I do like having a TV and monitor all in one for space reasons. I wish I had a way to compare this unit to other combos for their TV and video quality. Oh, and one other thing. TWO DEAD PIXELS! Probably not enough to mess with trying to replace even if they would. 17 inches of flat panel display and all I can see is this one green pixel in the middle of the screen. The red one over near the edge is ignorable. I give it 3 stars I guess because I don't love it, but don't hate it either. One more thing. You will want external speakers for it. The internal speakers have about the same fidelity as the average laptop.

Hyundai ImageQuest L70S+ Flat Panel Display (LCD).......2007-01-11
These units are excellent in every way. I purchased A Sony HD TV and in the literature they wouldn't warranty the unit if it had a bad Pixel, calling it normal to have some that were bad..... I purchased the Hyundai actually 3 of them. We had one with "A" bad pixel mind you one. And it was replaced with a new monitor of the same model and type. Quite honestly having a bad pixel is increadibly annoying and calls for attention thus creating a huge impediment to the practical use of the monitor. We have now had them over a year and they have performed flawlessly Plenty bright, plenty of contrast, No shaddowing, very clean immage. We use them in every way you can use a computer. 3D immaging, typical office, video, fast paced game play. In a word "Flawless" we are very happy with them.
