5 out of 5 stars Better than PK10 and can do a big screen.......2007-12-10

Another reviewer here states that this product cannot focus at larger than 60". My projected image is 6' from one side to the other, and the image is great and FOCUSED. I wanted to set the record straight, because I was almost dissuaded from getting the pk20 thanks to his comments. I have 2 other projectors, an ancient powerlite 7300 and a newer acer dlp projector, and this projector is actually better, image wise and quality wise. Incredible! This is more than adequate for vga and tv watching in a home theatre setup. Poor man indeed, it looks great to me! With all projectors a dark room is better, even with a higher end projector (the acer) I still used a darkened room. Also, you can loosen the 'elevator' foot screw and use it to ceiling mount the projector (due to its light weight) without blowing $$ on an overpriced ceiling mount. I give this projector an A+. Even the 800x600 res isnt that bad its kind of nice to have larger text when websurfing and my favorite game (age of empires 3) scales perfectly and looks fine in that res. And being able to run this without worrying about paying 25 cents/hour (what most lamps cost for other projectors) AND it only uses 25 watts/hour vs. 250 watts for my acer.(great since I m on solar power- I measured the power consumption with my handy kilowatt electricity meter) How can you beat this? Oh and the short throw distance means I can ceiling mount it 9 ft from the screen and not worry about my head getting in the way. This is THE best deal you ll ever find (for now) on a projector!!

4 out of 5 stars Great Tiny Project for Low Light Conditions.......2007-11-23

This project is awesome in smaller environments with low lighting. It is not the projector to use as a main projector for larger meetings in brightly lit rooms. With that said, the SD Memory card feature is awesome, so I use this to show photo slide shows to relatives. In my small conference room at work, this is perfectly adequate for meetings of under a dozen people. I think this projector is ideal if your intention is to exploit for the following situations:
Lightweight - if you travel frequently and present to small groups or can put what you present on an SD memory card.... this is great because it doesn't require a laptop...
If you have smaller group meetings where the device can be positioned relatively close to the screen/wall
If you have low light or dark conditions

The drawbacks to this projector are it size limitation.... I get up to around 7 feet of diagonal image in the dark. But this is adequate, not great. At around 50 inches, it works well, but again in lower light. If you have normally lit office, this won't cut it. If you can position this thing close to the screen (within about 6 feet, you will also have difficulty.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful.......2007-09-15

I bought this little projector for power point slide shows. It has
worked very well and the resolution has been great.

4 out of 5 stars nice, tiny, not so bright.......2007-08-30

Overall I'm happy with the projector, but it doesn't compare in brightness to a professional quality projector. It needs to be very dark in the room for acceptable readability.

5 out of 5 stars affordable projector in a miniscule package.......2007-08-08

for the price especially compared to your typical projector this is the working mans home theater solution. While the unit looks best projected at a medium distance it does offer decent picture when blown up bigger. The controls are excellent with an included sound source albeit tiny.
I use this to game, watch DVD,s, slideshows its clarity is what I expected for its size and price range. I really like the idea of using one these for outdoor guerilla screenings etc.. if I could get enough scratch together for the expensive and sadly not included BATTERY.
It will do what you expect a projector to do from computer to Video game source these units offer S-Video connection as the best output but RCA looks really good when you play with the sharpness the fan can be loud after a bit of use but the unit stays cool throughout projection. This is a good projector choice and I am surprised there aren't more units like this on the market. Kudos Mitsubishi for making a projector for the people.

    Customer Reviews:

    5 out of 5 stars Fantastic device.......2008-01-01

I bought this so I could watch TV in bed, on the ceiling. I mounted it to the inside front of a drawer in my bedside table, with enough room for ventilation.
In a dark room, it projects a pretty good and bright picture. The colors are really rich, which I believe is due to the color gamut of LEDs being greater than a normal projector lamp.
I even tried setting it up in my completely light-proof basement theater, and it projected a good-looking image onto my 120" projection screen. Not bad!
My one complaint is that it seems to leak light and reflections, so there is a kind of halo around the outside of the picture. But for something so tiny and cool, I'm happy to live with it.

5 out of 5 stars perfect for bedroom tv.......2007-10-15

We don't watch TV in the bedroom that much, so we didn't want to get an ugly tv. I thought about a projector, but they make so much noise and they are a pain to set up. This little projector is perfect! I have it on my night stand, pointing at the ceiling, and if I want to watch tv in bed, I just turn off all the lights and watch tv laying down! It doesn't make any noise, and the picture is surprisingly clear. Though, all the lights must be off for maximum clarity.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome little projector........2007-09-19

I have been looking for a projector for some time. The Mitsubishi PK10 Pocket Projector is perfect for my needs... occasional presentations for weekly classes that I teach.

4 out of 5 stars Quite useful, despite its limited brightness.......2007-06-01

I originally bought this to use when meeting with clients. Of course, I have the same problem with brightness that every one else does, but I always try to use extremely contrasting colors and HUGE TEXT, so my slides are still surprisingly readable, so long as the ceiling lights closest to the screen are switched off.

I did stumble upon an unusual use for this gadget: It's a handy way to check for proper VGA output on notebooks booting Ubuntu Linux (or whatever my alternate-OS-of-the-month happens to be) off a Live-CD before purchasing. Whipping out the PP + battery + VGA cable sure beats hunting for a spare LCD monitor + extra AC socket at the shops. The raised eyebrows, turned heads and curious questions don't hurt either.

I also connect this to an old VGA TV tuner and a pair of cheap PC speakers for a poor man's bedroom home theater system, which is good enough for at least the nightly news with the lights out.

4 out of 5 stars Little Projector - Big Fun!.......2007-05-14

This projector is really fun, I have used it for presentations at work functions and at home. The projector is easy to set up and use. The drawbacks are as follows; it doesnt have the resolution that higher priced and much larger projectors have, and for best results the room must be very dark. In the end I would recommend this projector for anyone who wants their projector to be easily mobile, and or just for fun. Lastly this projector won't punch you in the wallet as hard as some other projectors could.
