i had a dell monitor 17 inch bulky monitor. crt tube. Saw this one at staples and jumped on it. Unit is awesome. very easy to hook up. Only 2 things im a little mad about but nothing major. The speakers are weak. if u have a 2.1 system with a sub woofer connected and u add the monitor speakers for say rear sound the 2.1 over powers the monitor speakers. the other downside of the monitor is the viewing angle is just o.k. other than that the widescreen is nice. Light as a feather also. under 5 lbs

The Envision G19LWK was on sale at Staples (I usually make my electronic purchases from Amazon but I couldn't resist the price) a few weeks ago for $179...I hooked it up to one of my Dell computers which previously was using it's original 19 inch CRT...The Envision was easy to hook up and then I adjusted the resolution to the recommended 1440 X 900 pixels...what followed was a beautiful picture in a widescreen (great for movies) format...couldn't ask for more from a 19 inch, widescreen, LCD monitor...I highly recommend this product!

I think I was the first to purchase and review this - so I was a little nervous. It came in in 2 days (for $10 extra shipping) and the picture is very bright and very clear. Hookup and set-up was basically plug and play - couldn't be happier - and with such a cheap price - its a true bargain!

I did some extensive research and Amazon had the best price at the time. It arrived in 2 days without paying for expedited shipping. It was easy to hook up but the video card on the kids computer does not support wide screen resolution. The result was a distorted image. The recommended setting is 1680 x 1050 pixels. If your video card does not have this setting then don't buy a wide screen. I ended up swapping my monitor for theirs. So I use the BenQ every day and the quality is good. Color reproduction seems fine and it has great brightness and contrast. The wide screen format was nice when I streamed a video from Netflix but otherwise I don't really value this format so much for everyday emailing and web surfing. The only complaint I have about the functionality is that the control buttons are on the side. This would be all right if there were labels on the front surface of the frame but there aren't. I end up having to guess which button does what when I want to adjust the settings. Despite these detractions I would still recommend this for it's quality to someone wanting wide screen.

Other thoughts: this is a great monitor and is very affordable, I am very satisfied with this monitor and recommend it to anyone who wants a good monitor for less

Questionable Performance.......2007-11-24
I have this monitor came bundled with my computer. On paper, all the spects are pretty impressive for the price. However, there are mysterious times when all texts and images will have a ghost shadow behind it. They eventually go away, but I don't know how I fixed the problem? It may just be a simple matter of adjusting the settings, but I have owned quite a few computers and I have NEVER encountered such problems. All the other monitors I owned just worked right out of the box and I never bothered with them for the life of my PC. Even when it's working, I am not impressed with the image quality. The difference is huge between this screen and the screen of my wife's iBook. I can't complain since it came free with the computer. But I would probably will not spend my own money on this one. Unless price is your only consideration.

Very Reliable Cheap Widescreen LCD.......2007-08-19
When I purchased this item from Amazon.com, it was the lowest price I found for 20" Widescreen LCD - Name Brand - on the Web. I sacrificed one inch and got a 19" instead. I have not had any problems with the unit since my purchase. The monitor was very easy to install (Windows recognized it automatically). The only thing one needs to do after install is to right-click the Windows Desktop and set the monitor to the highest resolution (1440 x 900), as the monitor did not do this automatically, or use the buttons on the monitor to go into the Menu and select "Auto Adjust." This monitor has dual inputs (DVI and VGA).
