Worthless.......2007-08-22
These are the absolute worst headphone I've ever owned. The sound is terrible if you can get it working at all. The tuning button feels like playing the lottery, you press it and hope you'll hear some sound. Maybe a few minutes later you'll be fortunate that it will actually find one of the right frequency. Most of the time I can't even get the things working. When it does, the sound is terrible, it's rough with occasional popping.
RCA 900 MHz wireless headphones.......2007-04-11
I own an older pair of these, so decided to get another one based on performance of previous model. Like this one better in terms of ease of use (auto tuning), but don't like the headphones because they are very uncomfortable. I have taped the inner tension panel to the upper panel to make them less tight on my head.

Thank you amazon for marking these as regular wireless headphones. They do not come with any cables or a base unit to connect it to an audio system. The packaging gives no clue that these are not regular wireless headphones, either. Only when you dig around and find the manual do you find out that these are for automotive entertainment units. This is an additional headphone for an OEM automotive unit. Don't order these thinking you can use them at home, they won't work.

My headphones work for about 30 minutes - then static takes over. No amount of tuning, volume adjustment, plug and unplug works. They just stop working. I went to the Radio Shack where I had purchased them and the sales clerk that helped me has the same headphones - and the same problems. These were the second set of headphones - and I've just given up.

I used these headphones once. After that, the base would not stay powered on for more than 30 seconds. I verified that I had the right AC adapter, verified everything was turned on according to the manual, and I still couldn't keep it powered on. Tried switching to different outlets around the the computer, and that didn't help.
There's a reason these headphones are cheap: they don't work.

Can't evaluate, UPS could not access our area due to snow, road closures so (apparently) the UPS driver/UPS "mailed" the original, soft-wraped-shipped headphones by regular mail -- they arrived (the Headphones) busted. The trouble to file a claim under the apparent curcumstances seems more than the paper work/troubel to file a damaged-in-shipment claim so I am just out the cost.
Very Uncomfortable!.......2007-01-09
The sound quality of these headphones is ok. There was a pretty constant buzz or hum in the background. I like the feature of using regular batteries, no dying and waiting for them to recharge. The headphones are very uncomfortable! The self-adjusting strap is constantly pushing down on my head and pulling up on my ears. I couldn't wear them for very long without them giving me a headache.
Crystal clear, but must know about auto-shutoff.......2007-01-07
If you're thinking about getting these, you need to know that they automatically shutoff after 30-45 seconds if the input signal is weak. I was about to return them until I knew this. Just turn up the volume a little (it doesn't take much) on the device you're plugged in to and you won't have a problem.
Range is impressive: crystal clear audio up to about 35 feet. Still works at 50 but has a fair amount of static.
One review mentioned difficulty getting the battery cover off. I thought the same thing until I found the trick to it. You have to press in on the bottom of the cover and then slide it up (toward the top). It comes off with ease.
There's not much head room due to the intermediate strap. Depending on how you're built, you may have a problem getting the ear pieces to rest on your ears comfortably. Not a problem for kids.
Well worth it for me.

Incorrect Listing - not as pictured........2007-11-09
I ordered two of these and received a product that is completely different from the one pictured. Rather than a short cable connecting a plug and socket, the adaptor is a single, non-flexible piece. Furthermore, it does not fit the iPhone's recessed jack well enough - --the plastic gets chewed up, and the adaptor tends to come loose. Finally, one of them was defective, only carrying the left audio channel. The merchant told me that this is an incorrect listing.

These headphones would be a great product for the price, if it wasn't for one BIG problem. The person who designed the cushions for the ears must've been a complete moron. Your ears will hurt after a few minutes of use. The way the spongy material is positioned doesn't protect your ear at all, and it's like wearing a metal vice right against your ears. Trust me - spend a few extra dollars and buy something you'll be satisfied with. I may be able to salvage this purchase, by adding some cushion material myself...

First off i got these for free because it was a drawing and i won.... (i shouldnt be complaining but i am)
Alright the headphones arnt very snug against my head and if i look down too fast they slip right off... so it would have been nice if the ear speakers were adjustable but they are not, thats my first problem
second is: Im maybe ohhhhh 10 feet or so away from the reciver and if i put my hand or something just above the top band of the head phones i get hit with major static, or if i accidently touch the battery compartment i get hit with static too... even if i turn my head to quickly i get hit with static also.... i mean come on its wireless and i expect to get some static but not that frequent!
Lastly i was hoping that they could be used for when im a passanger in a car, or walking around (further than 150ft), and learned that u need to be next to an Oulet the whole time for these to even work.. disapointed on that part, because for me i can only think of 2 things to do with these
1. Watch tv @ night
2. Use when picking up around the house and working out side (within 150ft)....
All in all BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!... Im thinkin about selling 'em cause they are useless to me... honestly standard headphones i think work perfectly fine... So save ur money and get a different brand or just buy other headphones....
Static level is awful.......2005-10-24
I am not sure if it is because I live in an appartment building or because I have power lines outside my living room window (I live on the 2nd floor so they're right at my level)or if people in my neighborhood use a lot of 900Mhz phones but the sound quality is simply awful.
My only purpose was to be able to play games on my Xbox without bothering anybody else so I am not even talking about an audiophile seeking crystal clear and rich sound, a decent sound clarity would have enough for me. Sitting no more than 7ft from my TV, sound gets cut-off and the static goes from bad to unbearable when you adjust the dial on the base. Same results with regular TV broadcast and when plugged into my laptop playing music.
I don't know if the product is bad or if my environment makes it work poorly but if you're considering this brand/model make sure you have the ability to return it!
I guess I'll go back to my previous solution: standard headphones with a 15ft extension cable, which are fine since I don't need to be moving around.

Cheaply made and range is awful. They cut out anywhere from 3 feet on. Try another brand and you will be much more satisfied.

These headphones are completely useless for watching movies or listening to any kind of music with dynamics. I understand having the transmitter cut out when there is no signal at all, but to design it to cut out just because the audio is moderately quiet is the act of an imbecile.
I will never buy any model of RCA wireless headphones again.

I bought a set of refurbished headphones through Amazon, and I could not be more pleased. They were only $15 (with shipping) - I had almost paid 4x that amount for some Sony headphones until I read some questionable reviews. I am so glad I decided to try these. I listen to Launchcast radio all day at work, and have had no problems at all since getting them 2 months ago. I would highly recommend them, especially if you can get them at the right price.

Minimal extra noise (aka hissing) and the range is fabulous. I have travelled to entire other parts of my neighborhood with these still working fine. In fact, once I had to chase my dog around the streets when he got loose and the music never cut out. I have a 6 cd changer, so I know the charge lasts for at least several hours. Easy to use, not too big, comfortable on the head, takes up minimal space. Also, I listen to many different types of music and have experienced all of it BETTER thru these phones, especially Monster Magnet and violin music. My only actual complaint is that there are no replacements pads for the 'phones. Last year the protective film started to wear down, and I inquired as to replacement pads to no avail.
I bought this product so long ago and it has served me well. Until now. It's finally dying, it cuts in and out more often, the wires require some playing with, etc. 10 years with the same wireless headphones = a pretty darn good product! I am considering buying the same again.

Before saying anything, I would like to start with saying that these are my first set of wireless headphones, bought them refurbished, I'm using Metal Hydride batteries and only had the product for about three days.
The 125 foot range is an awesome range for any kind of electronic device, I found the the range to be alittle more farther than mentioned, about 150 feet but with some static, any further and you get white noise (dead signal). Light weight headset, with very good grip on the ears. The signal does go through walls and floors very well with half second (0.5 seconds) of static because of pieces of metal between walls but it goes back to stereo quality. The stereo quality is awesome, sometimes even better than my wired headphones. The tuning of the RF (I think radio frequency) of the transmitter and on the headphones make it so easy to find a good signal. So far I haven't had anything being interfered with use. Sound is very good (considering it's wireless) good sound quality over all, as good and sometimes a lot better than my 25 dollar (wire) headset.
Like all other GOOD things, it has it's down sides. The transmitters' auto on and off feature is good but when the audio source (cd player, mp3 player, laptop) volume is too low (on the audio source) the transmitters' on and off feature reacts and turns off giving no signal to the headset, you must turn up the volume on the audio source to get signal back. The headset does have it's own volume control so you probably won't be running into this problem.
Nickel Cadnium batteries are recommended by the company but I still use Metal Hydride batteries, even with a low voltage of 2.4 volts (instead of 3.0). Fully charged, they run for a good amount of hours don't know specific or close to total amount but the most I've used them (without stopping) were around 2 hours. I have yet to figure out how much time they take until they weaken. When the batteries are low (I had my batteries recharged at a very low point when I recieved the package), the audio will start getting alittle staticky, increasing at a slow rate. The transmitter does recharge Nickel cadniums but not Metal hydride rechargable batteries.
These headphones (like other wireless headsets) are not good for easy listening like classical music because it sounds as if you're listening to a casset tape with the continous hissing. Wired headphones are a better choise for easy listeners. When you listen to heavier music such as hip-hop, R&B, Techno, Metal and other high volume sounds, you will not notice the hissing and you get an awesome Cd, mp3, live sound quality. Although, the ear cups are not ideal for long hearing because it presses on the ears, but they are good for about an hour (my ears started bothering me at an hours use).
All in all, these are a very good set for many different activities such as exercising, yard work, cleaning around the house, show off to friends at work and maybe even lazying off. The signal goes through almost anything easily, no disturbances (if you find the best tunning the set can offer, you will like this set a lot). If you buy them refurbished, Nickel cadnium batteries probably will not be included in the package(I didn't get any), only if you buy them refurbished. If you use other kinds of rechargable batteries make shure you buy a recharger for those batteries because the transmitter probably will not recharge them and I would not risk the chance of destroying the product so that it will recharge other types of batteries. You have been warned if it damages the product when you tried to charge different type batteries (other than Nickel Cadniums) using the transmitter, you have been told. Have a nice day :)
