Aside from being plasticy and big, I have nothing bad to say about this mount. It has a solid grip on the windshield and the audio is clear.

The mount is fine, the power is also fine but how do you connect the GPS to the PDA???? No cable is provided for serial GPS, even when I bought the cable, the data is not coming from the provided cable from GPS receiver to the PDA.
Of course it works fine with Bluetooth GPS receiver.
The amplifier works great where you can't hear the PDA but you will have to connect cables from PDA to the device. A little too expensive but if you have Bluetooth GPS receiver, it might worth it.
The company Arkon has a superb costumer service, I must give them #1 in that, they went out of their way to help.

I've bought this mount about a year ago from another site. I use it with my AXIM as GPS navigation system. It was pretty easy to install and use. Sound quality and level is good. I am totally agree with the previous review about all the details. The only thing I'd like to suggest people who have it: never leave it in the car during the summer heat. The PDA holder (racheting mechanism) made from very cheap plastic. When it stopped holding my PDA I took it a parts and found that gear shaft is bended because it was subjected to the high temperature inside the car meanwhile it is side-loaded by the racheting mechanism's spring. In my understanding designer must take in consideration ambient temperature and select an appropriate material for implementation.

I've had this for six months and it's trashed. This isn't a high end mount, or at least I hope others are better.
Let's start with the good: The power connector is tight and holds on well to the various sockets and adapters I've tried it with. It's easy enough to conenct the PDA and the power and audio connectors are a convenient length and a positive fit. The adjustment for angle is quite easy, though bending the gooseneck makes it feel like it's going to break, but it didn't. The Suction mount gets an adequate hold and it never fell off. The built in speaker is OK.
The bad: The clamps are poorly made, they have enough grip but the teeth are poor quality plastic. The power connector for the GPS is a poor fit, the plug is longer than the socket, so there's always bare metal sticking out. The cradle is not positively attached to the rest of the mount, I don't think I ever tried to remove it, but if it is angled over too far it starts to slide off.
It's not usually possible to see the power light, but then that's just as well because it would just be a distraction.
And finally, after six month the ratchet teeth have broken, so it doesn't grip the PDA any more and is effectively useless.
Making a ratchet mechanism that can hold the PDA without wearing out in, probably, less than 100 cycles (I don't use it every day) is not high grade engineering. This is a poorly built product. If you buy it bear in mind you'll need another one in a few months.

The stylus/pen fits my Axim x51 and serves it's purpose for me--primarily a stylus, but as a back up pen. The pen skips occasionally but still works. It was fairly pricey, so combined with performance, I've rated it 3 of 5.

What you see is what you get. The cable plugs into a USB port to charge and sync your Dell Axim PDA.
I'm using the Axim X50 and a Dell D600 laptop. Although I'm satisfied overall, I have had a couple of minor issues when using this cable.
Sometimes the Axim is not recognized when it is first connected using this cable. Disconnecting, waiting a few seconds, and then reconnecting has never failed to fix the problem. (Note: This happens once in awhile on my desktop synchronization cradle also, so I'm not that concerned.)
I have also had a couple of times where the synchronization did not complete successfully. This was usually when there was a large amount of data that needed to be transferred. I don't know if that was just an unlucky coincidence or something else. So far, a restart of the synchronization process has always fixed the problem. Just pay attention to ensure that the synchronization completes without errors.
I carry this cable, along with some other electronic travel essentials, in a small travel kit that goes in my briefcase when I'm on the road. I keep that kit as small and light as possible by limiting it the absolutely critical items only. The fact that the cable is in there is evidence of how important it is for me.
Aside from synchronization on the road, this cable has another big advantage for a frequent international traveler. My laptop power supply is multivoltage, so I never have to carry a power converter when I travel between the US and Europe (or anywhere else for that matter). By charging my Axim from the USB port on my laptop, there is never a voltage conversion problem. (I have a similar USB charger for my mobile phone.) If I can find a single accessible electrical outlet in a hotel, I can recharge my laptop, PDA, and phone all at once. Perhaps this takes longer than using dedicated chargers, but it works.
The Dell desktop charger is still easier to use, nicer overall, and works more reliably for me. I'm rating this cable at 4 stars, but that is really all I expect from it.
One usage tip. When you first connect the cable, you might see your Axim screen flickering between bright and dim. Don't panic. The charging is accomplished over USB done a current pulse. It makes the PDA power management think that it is being repeatedly connected and disconnected from external power. When charging using this cable, you need to adjust your brightness settings on the Axim so that the match for both battery and external power. (Select: Programs / Settings / System / Brightness) If your brightness settings are not the same in both states, the display will appear to flicker bight/dim/bright/etc.
