Had to send it back!.......2007-12-29
I really like the product, its way smaller that I thought, 2 reason i had to send it back, 1. dead pixel, 2. had to reset 3 times in one hour. i dont know wat the heck is wrong with it. it doesnt support kingstore secure digital card, (4gb), otherwise the lcd is cristal clear, has wifi internet which is preety amazing, fast, i didnt get to see everything yet cuz i shiped it back the same day i got it, hope the one i am getting now comes with no diffects.
Solid performer.......2007-12-28
I've been using this as a development platform for a few weeks (winmobile) and I have to say it works pretty nicely. It can be difficult to figure out how to configure certain aspects of the device (e.g. networking, sync modes, etc), but usually a little google searching will get you an answer. My only complaint is that the device isn't running winmobile 6. Other than that, this is a solid PDA.
Great item.......2007-12-26
the only reason I give it a 4 star is that it sometimes goes to sleep and I can't wake it up easily. It may be user error but I don't think so. Requires me to change power source to wake it up. Love the email connections and file transfer, keeps my work schedule with me.
iPAQ hx2795 review.......2007-12-24
I'm a pharmacy intern and use my device mostly for checking drug-drug interactions or as a drug reference. I think it's user friendly, but it might have too many features for what I use it for. I've had a problem with a portion of my screen freezing up/not displaying icons it should - these fix themselves upon reset. If you do get this product, I recommend getting the case that goes with it.
Excellent product! .......2007-12-12
HP has alway had good products and this iPAQ is no exception. It does everything expected of it. Well worth the price.

GPS and PDA- HP RX5915.......2007-12-29
HP rx5915
GPS + PDA = GREAT!
As an all in one device, I have found this to be good for my needs.
Although there might be better GPS devices out there, this one provides the extras that accompanies a PDA. The Tom Tom Software is good, since I haven't used any other software I can't rate it any other way.
I spent a lot of time with hands on and reviews of GPS devices and I ended up with this one. Nuff Said.
HP Ipaq rx5915.......2007-12-26
I used this device more than one month. I can say I glad to have it.
Pretty awesome product - only a few problems.......2007-12-24
I was initially looking for a GPS, but, when I came across the IPAQ was excited by the idea of having a device that had the capabilities of a GPS and a PDA. Got the product and set right into figuring out how this bad boy works!
My main problem came when I was trying to sync up my existing calendar with the device. It took quite some time - but the HP online chat support was awesome, and, eventually, it all worked out. The only thing I dislike about the calendar is that there is no search feature.
I've used the GPS a lot! I didn't run into any trouble getting a signal (but you really do need to be outside with a clear view of the sky on the initial setup). I've only had trouble twice (out of say 20 uses) with it - on a cloudy day it put me quite a few streets over from where I actually was and once out in the country (couldn't get a signal at all).
I bought a 2GB memory card and easily transfer music from my desktop to the device.
Overall, I'm really pleased with this product and highly recommend it.
Great Product! Love It!.......2007-12-18
The HP RX5915 is a fantastic device. I am very happy with it. It goes with me everywhere. I got mine May 31, 2007 and have used it everyday on Long Island, New York for the past six months for navigation, wi-fi, IE, word and excel. I've also used it in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, North Carolina and Florida.
It came preloaded with the latest Tom Tom map Version 660.1323, so I didn't have to download it from the HP website. However, based on all the comments other users have made, I downloaded the firmware update. I downloaded it to my PC and then used Activesync to transfer it to the IPAQ. The download was easy. When I startup the GPS, the Tom Tom locks in a satellite within a minute. It's very intuitive to learn to use and its very user friendly. It has a ton of options. I downloaded the manual anyway for reference from the Tom Tom website. The Tom Tom maps and navigation are very accurate and the unit instantly reroutes you when you don't follow the recommended route. Calculating an alternate route is also very fast. The only downside to the Tom Tom is that the POI search could be better.
The anti-glare touch screen works great.
The wireless WLAN/Internet Explorer works very well picking up signals easily and effectively. Surfing is very fast and responsive. The screen display is very clear and bright. Word and excel mobile works very well as does the transcriber. The picture viewer works well.
I also downloaded TCPMP to play movies which also works well. I have not tried the Bluetooth.
Battery life is very good. The owner replaceable battery is a great feature when the battery fails in the future.
I also downloaded Worldmate which is a very convenient tool showing the weather and time at selected cities throughout the world.
The windshield mount is very sturdy and works well, except in cold weather. The mount comes off the windshield easily in cold weather unless you wet the mount that suctions on the windshield.
I highly recommend this product.

Awesome Camera.......2007-12-15
I love this camera! We looked at alot of cameras and this one was the best in the price range. We have a very active 2 year old and it takes wonderful pictures of him. My husband took a picture of our ceiling fan while it was moving and the picture came out clear, you couldnt tell that the fan was moving. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a decent priced camera.
Great camera for the price.......2007-12-13
My parents purchased this camera, and we are so impressed with the features and quality of the camera that we are going to purchase it for ourselves now. A great price for a really decent camera, great for taking pics of the kids with the stabilization feature.
We compared this to two others quite extensively while shopping, and in this price range it had the best combination of features. The software that comes with it is quite nice too. I have photoshop, but the software is elaborate enough to file and store your photos and do just about all of the editing that you would need to do for home use.
The menus also feature very user-friendly messages and notes, making this a great camera for my parents, who purchased this as their first digital camera. The menus are easy to understand and to navigate.
This is a 6.2 MP NOT A 8PM as advertised.......2007-09-06
When you actually receive the camera, it is not a 8 PM but a 6.2MP, which was a great disappoitment. Everything advertises it as the 8MP including the receipt. Truth of the matter is that it is mis-advertised on the website. When we called to let them know and try to get the 8 PM we were told it was a mistake on the website and we could ship it back but would NOT be guaranteed a 8PM camera (basically they would have sent us the same camera). Disappointing.

Brilliant.......2007-12-18
Brilliant. What can i say? This is my first PDA and i am very happy with it. Does as it says on the tin!!!
Don't use SD card!.......2007-11-29
I thought this was a great unit until I inserted the SD card and it never was the same.
Check the hp forum. In spite of the workarounds once you insert the card your nifty little PDA is junk.
The battery life was great for months - I was pleasantly surprised. It was a wonderful unit. After deciding it would be useful tool and began loading schedules and plugged the card in, things got ugly. At this time my battery discharge rate is about 1% per 5-7 minutes. None of the workarounds or service pack fixes does squat to alleviate the problem. I'm really upset because hp will not touch it - I just got past the warranty a couple of months ago and now I have to pay to fix their junk.
Caution - do not use any SD cards in this PDA.
Good one.......2007-11-26
This is the first pda i have owned so I dont know how it compares to others. Works fine but the only thing wrong is that it hangs sometimes.
Otherwise great!!!
decent multimedia machine, but buggy.......2007-09-22
got this pda (mainly because it has CF support, I have 16GB CF)
flashed to Hong Kong version, it displays Trad and Simp Chinese without problem
but I see the unit is kinda buggy, that sometimes bt confuses to connect, and wifi "forgets" the driver, requires reset
it doesn't turn on after charging, and the unit gets pretty hot, press reset, the battery goes to 0
SD problem, that I have to turn the unit on before inserting SD, or it's not recognized, and it doesn't support SD-HC (will WM6 update add it?)
pro
flip screen cover
CF support, can add 16GB of storage
256MB of ROM
new 1700mA/h battery
con
flaky bt and wifi
no SD-HC support
may be bulky for some
screen is yellow compared with RX3715 and X50v
I'd recommend it if you want CF support, ipaq 210 is coming, and it has WM6 and VGA screen
"POCKET COMPUTING POWER!".......2007-08-30
OK, first I didn't want a "PDA" telephone. Some are nice but those screens are just too small. I wanted a PDA that I could just pull out at the local library or Airport and connect to that Wi-Fi. I also wanted to play the "HUGE" selections of downloadable games that are available for the Pocket PC. This HP iPAQ 2495 is powerful and has a real nice non-slip grip around the whole unit. It supplements my laptop perfectly when I'm out on the road. It's also fun and simple to use. The most important feature is the screen size and the clarity. It's not a iPhone but this iPAQ does have a "User Friendly" replaceable battery which the iPhone doesn't have. You just click a back button to gain access and it "Pops" out. The bottom line is I had other HP PDA'S and that all familiar "Palm Pilot." This iPAQ is simply the best in the class of PDA's to date.

Poor description.......2007-12-13
The product arrived in good new order but one thing they did not say was the item was locked to cingularm this was very embarrasing as it was a gift, i eventually got a returns number from Tigerdirect, they would not refund my postage either direction. This was a very poor show by tiger direct, i will not buy from them again.
Amazing Device--it is like a "real" pc!.......2007-11-08
I did quite a bit of research before investing in my first handheld device and I had a very limited budget for it. I looked at the Palm devices, and the Nokia n800 series, as well as several Dell and HP pocket pc models. I decided that, at least for now, Windows Mobile appeared the best way to go in terms of ease of use and value and I'm very happy that I made that decision. I wanted to spend between $200 and $300 and was looking for a device that had a key pad included, WiFi, and a basic word processing application. The hw6925 had all of these features PLUS it is also a phone. I'm not currently using the device as a cell phone, but I may in the future. I've been delighted with the functionality of the Windows Mobile software--it is very easy to use and includes Mobile versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint! I also had no problem setting up the e-mail software included to work with my ISP. Overall, I simply can't believe that this much functionality is now available at this price. I've invested in a portable keyboard and plan to leave my much too heavy laptop at home when I'm working away from my office. The version of the hw6925 that is listed here is for Cingular and is not unlocked. I would have preferred an unlocked phone, but to get that, I would have spent twice the price of this one. If you're looking for a business-ready pocket pc, I highly recommend this one.

Perfect for ME.......2007-11-30
I'm a full time student and I bought this PDA a year ago. It's been so nice for me to have. The WiFi is perfect. I can almost always get connected. The SD expansion slot is really nice for adding books etc (I have a few different versions of the Bible with commentaries for super fast and easy access). I love the note pad, I can write up things quickly or 'type' them in. Its also SO nice to use the Microsoft Outlook to update my contacts and calendar. It has a nice picture to it and its sweet for picture viewing. Adding tasks is really nice for homework and projects. The battery power is okay... It stays nicely (I do keep the backlight pretty dim... but dim is still a nice reading setting) but the power button gets pressed in my purse sometimes and drains it. I wish there was a lock button. The only negative I've had is that when I got through security at airports it COMPLETELY zaps my charge. Luckily I don't fly THAT often and when I do I can generally find a plug-in to recharge it. I would definately recommend this!
Use TCPMP to play videos on your IPAQ.......2007-08-26
I would not recommend using the Windows Mobile's Media Player on the IPAQ for playing videos. I would recommend downloading a free version of TCPMP DIVX player for the Pocket PC at the following location. TCPMP is a far superior video player than the WM Media Player. You will not have the buffering problems that the WM Media Player has. Your videos will play smoothly without interruptions. It also plays a wider range of video format than the WM Media Player.

I also recommend DVD Catalyst GT for converting DVD's to playable video files for your IPAQ. It is easy to use and costs less than $20.

I really enjoy my IPAQ. I hope these suggestions help you get more enjoyment out of yours.
Best Anniversary Present.......2007-07-04
I bought this for my husband on our Anniversary. He loved it has really come in handy from him as he needs a lot of phone numbers to be stored for work and a calendar to keep his ever changing work schedule in. Also, allows him to access wireless internet if he needs to.
Dissapointed.......2007-06-10
When I got my Rx1955 I was impressed with the wifi capabilities. Later I was extremely dissapointed that it lacked bluetooth functionality to sync with other devices. I also was dissapointed by the fact that it crashed frequently and had to be reset (windows mobile's fault). My Rx1955 ended up dying, the lcd decided that it would just show bars and not anything else one day. I called hp and they said replacement would cost around 200 bucks with the trade in (I went online and got the next model up with bluetooth instead).
Great Product! Recommend it........2007-04-29
For years I used an IPAQ 1910. Loved its slim size, gorgeous display and its features. It had one fatal disadvantage! When the removable battery discharged it lost all the data and programs stored in memory and there was no way to put Contacts, Schedules etc on Storage Card. So they were erased each time. At home they could be resynched with the PC and the data restored but on trips - when I needed the data worse - it was not possible. To make it worse the data loss occurred even when the secondary battery showed full charge and the battery discharge happened even if the unit was not turned on. Another disadvantage was that it could not handle a Storage Card larger than 1 GB and its earphone socket used the non-standard 2.5 mm plug (standard is 3.5 mm)
So I bought the IPAQ RX1950. It looks and feels exactly the same as the old 1910 but with added WiFi connectivity, persistent memory (data is not lost even if battery is completely discharged), and ability to handle large capacity SD Cards. Installed a 2 GB SD Card and loaded in several favorite programs like Mobipocket Reader, ProWord Dictionary, XnView image display, Conduit Pocket Player and the games Freecell, SuperSudoku and Scrabble. Also tried, unsuccessfully, to add several free utilities to make navigation and the Today screen more useful.
It was heavy going! I found that I had to Soft Reset so many times during use that I considered returning the unit to Amazon. Got in touch with HP Support Professional via chat. He first advised me to download the latest ROM and Firmware updates. It turns out that my device had all these installed from the factory (as they should have been) - so there was no need for additional update. The technician suspected that the added utilities might the culprit. so I uninstalled them. He also advised me to follow the following procedure:
"Open active sync on the iPaq, then tap on menu -> Add Server Source, then you will see a field called "server address", enter anything into this field. Tap on next on the bottom right of the screen. Fill out the three fields with any information, then select next, then finish. This will bring you back to the active sync menu. Tap on menu -> Schedule, you will see two drop downs, "peak times" and "off-peak times". Change both of these from the default of 10 and 4 mins respectively to "manually". Tap on ok in the upper right hand side. Tap on menu -> Options, tap and hold on where it says "exchange server" and select delete."
Did all of the above and for the past 4 days did not do a single Soft Reset and am a happy user. Incidentally the battery on this unit lasts for a goodly length of time - much more than the 1910 though the battery is just a somewhat higher capacity. I presume it has to do something with data and programs being in ROM & not requiring continuous refresh like the RAM in the 1910.
During a recent trip had occasion to test the Wifi connectivity. Used Gmail to get to Inbox. It was surprising how well the messages could be viewed. Of course sending answers was laborious using the displayed keyboard but it could be done. So now I am looking forward to use it extensively on my forthcoming trip to Europe.

iPAQ hx2495 Pocket PC.......2007-07-30
I have Owned twice this model (I broke the screen on the first one), but I guess I never had that problems, maybe sometimes the battery It's not long lasting as one would like but it gives at least 3 hrs of wireless internet. I have loaded many programs that work pretty good including a ROM for a TI-89 calculator and it works just great (the Ti89 is like $300)
I found that anytime I'm having a frozen screen a soft reboot is more than enough. WM5 doesn't close the programs and that's why you sometimes sun out of memory.
Should have been disclosed.......2007-07-16
I received the product with a sticker on the box showing that it had been returned because the screen freezes. The screen did in fact freeze to the point where it was impossible to use. I went to the HP site and re-loaded the ROM for WM5 but _not_ the update. Now it works much better but still is reluctant to start from being in sleep mode overnight at times. I will admit that the price I paid was more than $100.00 less than any other posting for the same item I have seen. I felt duped however when I received it with known problems. This should have been disclosed.
Hp supplies little or no service.......2007-04-30
I bought the 2495 in Oct 2006, it would not sync. It never has. I bought the stores service agreement incase of problems. WELL, until your warrenty runs out it's useless. Finally with some flashlight looking we found the connections in the bottom of the unit that allow it to connect for sycn were unattached and bent over. I went online twice for help from Hp. They kept saying to redo the ram. YIKES. Finally we sent it to one of Hp's many contracted service centers. They want $250 to repair it. Said the damage isn't their fault. Tell me who's it is, if it has never worked? After moving up the ladder three times and getting the same we won't repair it. It is now being sent back without any service. Hp provides NOTHING. I would avoid this pocket Pc at all costs. It's just not worth it.
Simply didn't work..........2007-03-28
Well, I take that back. This product was able to store the owner information I put in and display it on a screen with a nice, white background. This made it especially useful as a flashlight when I had to examine something under my desk. And I suppose a token paperweight analogy might fit here too, but I really don't want to downplay that flashlight feature. It really does work (over short distances).
Sure, it's true that the wi-fi, blue-tooth, and activesync features all failed to function, but why dwell on the negative?
But seriously, I'm glad I bought from a reputable seller. They refunded my money the same day they received the unit back.
Buyer beware!.......2007-02-10
I must say I am very disappointed with the Ipaq 2495. I used to be a palm pilot user ( I had one of those Sony Clie's) until something told me to switch to what I thought was the more advance hand held gadget. Dumb me........
I should of asked myself why do I need to switch?
- was it because I could not use my appointments on my palm? No
- was the address program bad on my palm? No
- was the color display on the Sony palm bad? No
-was there a lot of hype about the so-called "pocket pc?" Yes!
Jesus! The only thing similar to a real pc and the Ipaq is that both of them can crash and with the ipaq it crashes a lot. Every 3rd or 4th time I would turn the darn thing on it would freeze and then I would press the reset button underneath to unfreeze it (or should I say press it 2 or 3 times before it functioned properly). No way would I recommend this gadget. I paid over $300.00 for it and I am able to say I through away over $300.00(not including $50.00 in programs that I bought) If you bought one I feel sorry for you better yet do a follow up review so others can be forewarned.

Amazon.com Review
One of the nice things about Windows CE devices is that manufacturers don't have to stick to a specific design. They can make large screens or small screens, add keyboards or rely solely on the touch screen for input, and basically do whatever they want. Hewlett-Packard decided to make a do-anything device when they designed the Jornada 720, and on most counts they have succeeded.
The device sports a keyboard just large enough for comfortable touch typing and a large 640 x 240 screen that makes Web browsing and document editing much easier than is the case with a smaller device. This useful combination means that most people will be able to use the Jornada 720 as a notebook computer replacement. However, if you're looking for the ultimate in portable handheld computing, you'll have to look elsewhere.
The 720 is about as loaded as a Windows CE device can get; it comes with an integrated 56 Kbps V.90 modem, docking station for easy connection to a PC, AC adapter, and rechargeable battery. It's outfitted with 32 MB of RAM and a 206 MHz StrongARM processor that really makes applications fly. On the multimedia side you get an integrated speaker and stereo headphone jack for audio playback, and one of the most beautiful TFT active matrix displays we've seen. It can mix and match more than 65,000 colors at once, renders very crisp text, and never had trouble keeping up with our input like inferior passive matrix screens do.
The very thing that makes the Jornada 720 so useful--its relatively large size--is also its biggest drawback. Its weight can make it unwieldy, and there's no good way to get a grip on it when there isn't a flat surface to use it with. We ended up accidentally pressing keys far too often when holding the unit with one hand, though with a little practice juggling becomes much easier.
If you are graduating to the Jornada from a smaller handheld (such as a Palm) instead of slimming down from a notebook, prepare to be underwhelmed by its portability. Expect to be impressed, however, by its zippy performance, generous display, and expansion possibilities. --T. Byrl Baker
Pros:
- Large, colorful display makes working with large documents practical
- Keyboard is large enough for touch-typing, albeit at a slower rate than a full-sized keyboard allows
- Comes standard with so many features that you likely won't have to buy upgrades for some time
Cons:
- It's heavy and too big for most pockets
- Difficult to use without sitting it down on a flat surface

Small but Sweet.......2007-01-17
This is a marvelous device, great for a writer. I can work on my stories on the fly and synchronize to my laptop for editing.
Containing Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, it is everything you can ask for in on-the-go computing.
The charge lasts about 9 hours at a time; I plug it in every other night to keep it topped off, and carry it in my pocket on the subway.
Lay in an extra battery if you can (before HP stops making the product - they are up to Jornada 900)
Good memories but you can't go home again.......2006-07-23
I am on my 2nd Jornada 720; the first one I positively loved, but in the rush to upgrade (and free up some money) I sold it in 2003.
Recently the Jornada handhelds have fallen into Bargain Bin status, and I picked up my current 720 and a 680e (older sibling) for almost nothing. The 720 is by far the snappier and better of the two. The 680e is a little heavier and bigger, and better as a mobile typing platform.
However, these are 1998-2000 era machines; and things have changed substantially. Heck, they can barely play video! The two biggest signs of obsolescence are the serial cable for connecting (though ActiveSync still works) and Pocket Internet Explorer 4.0. For most of the serious business stuff people would use these for such as taking notes, spreadsheets, calendar and contacts, these are invaluable.
However, the lack of a modern web browser hurts severely, as checking your e-mail, accessing bank accounts, corporate intranets, secure websites, etc., becomes difficult or impossible.
Still, despite all the whiz-bang functionality of the Pocket PC toys, I still prefer the palmtop format. I've had more than a few people wonder what these new gizmos were I was taking notes on at meetings, not having any idea how old they are. And for discreetly being able to type notes/ideas there's nothing better. The 720 can support flash cards and PCMCIA network cards, so it can (or was) useable as a mini web terminal with a wireless card.
That was a lot of fun, being able to whip it out, surf the web and take care of errands/business, and put it back in your pocket while the old school road warrior is still trying to get their laptop booted up and connected.
While the 720 is at the tail edge of usefulness, it's still a neat little computenmaschinen to have around.
Consider This Before Accepting Negative Reviews.......2006-05-10
The HP Jornada 720 (the final model of this line was the 728) is the finest, practical design mobile Handheld Computing device ever made. The Jornada rival is the NEC MobilePro 780-800 line. Both clamshell, mini-laptop looking, devices were high quality and expensive (average retail was over $1,000).
These devices are authentic handhelds and they are true mobile PCs. In comparison, PDAs are very expensive toys. Both NECs & Jornadas have practical data input-- a useable keyboard & a touch screen. Both Jornadas and NECs have built-in card slots. Being PDA type devices, handhelds have no moving parts & they are instant on - off. They come with built-in phone modems & infrared wireless ports. Neither line, the Jornada or NEC, was designed for modern radio type wireless Internet but both lines are fully capable of it.
By the way, the chief reasons laptops break down are all related to their being moved about. Damaged screens (from being dropped or handled roughly) & hard drive failure are problems. Own a 720 and like me you will soon consider a laptop a lug-a-bout portable desktop computer. Make a home made bubble wrap envelope for your Jornada or NEC and they should be O.K. There is no hard drive to fail from chuck hole caused rough movement in a car, or from dropping.
Don't let the memory limitations throw you off. Your basic productivity programs are permanently hardware loaded in ROM & Many mobile Windows CE programs can be installed and run from CF cards and both Jornada & NEC lines can handle up to one gig or bigger CF cards. Some enthusiasts report success runing CF micro drives. There are also inexpensive CF card slot adapters that allow additional adaptability.
Some of the software that comes with these devices is severely outdated, especially the Microsoft syncing software, Microsoft Activesync. No problem. The best version is Activesync 3.8 anyway and it is freely available. Download and install it to your XP system and you'll have no problem syncing with a Jornada or NEC
These handhelds were never meant for the general consumer market. They are enterprise devices, which is why few consumers know about them.
I own a Jornada 680e (under $90 like-new refurbished)& a 720. I also own a NEC Mobilepro 780 and the 790. My favorite is the NEC 780 - 790 because NECs have a larger keyboard than Jornadas do. I have big hands but I am able to two-finger touch type with the Jornada models (
