AT&T Tilt Smartphone (AT&T)

Amazon.com Product Description

The slim, pocket-sized AT&T Tilt smartphone is bursting at the seams with a full-menu of wireless capabilities to keep you connected wherever you roam on this globe--quad-band GSM for global roaming, Wi-Fi, EDGE, and 3G data connectivity via AT&T's UMTS/HSDPA-based BroadbandConnect network. Practical and versatile, the phone's face slides open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard while the screen tilts for optimal viewing of email, spreadsheets, and web videos. It also adds the power of the Windows Mobile 6 operating system (Professional Edition), which provides push email for immediate send and receive as well as editing of Microsoft Office documents. (See more details about Windows Mobile 6 below.)

With its high-speed 3G network capability, you'll be able to access AT&T's Mobile Music and Cellular Video services, and the phone includes the latest version of Telenav GPS Navigator for turn-by-turn directions while on the go. One of the most powerful, feature-packed smartphones on the market, the AT&T Tilt also includes a 3-megapixel camera (with video capabilities), Bluetooth connectivity with stereo music streaming and multiple connection capability, MicroSD memory card expansion up to 4 GB, and a variety of games for when you need a break (including Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 and Ms. Pac-Man).

The AT&T Tilt is a veritable wireless Swiss Army Knife, with quad-band GSM, tri-band 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity as well as a GPS receiver.
AT&T Service
The AT&T Tilt can handle high-speed data connectivity via AT&T's 3G mobile broadband data network, which is available in most major metropolitan areas. The AT&T 3G network uses the UMTS 850/1900/2100 network (also known as WCDMA), making it possible to enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless multimedia services with speeds up to 3.6 Mbps. It also gives AT&T the advantage of offering simultaneous voice and data services. You'll also enjoy 3G broadband speed connectivity across the globe with tri-band UMTS/HSDPA capabilities, which allows the Tilt to operate in Japan and Korea, in addition to the more than 135 countries in which AT&T offers international data roaming.

In areas where the 3G network is not available, you'll continue to receive service on the AT&T EDGE network, which offers availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. Providing average data speeds between 75-135Kbps, it's fast enough to support a wide range of advanced data services, including video and music clips, full picture and video messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and email on the go.

With 3G connectivity, you'll be able to access AT&T's Cellular Video (CV) service and the Internet while on the go. Cellular Video features content from CNN, The Weather Channel, iFilm, Comedy Central and exclusive premium content from HBO and much more. It also features AT&T Mobile Music, which provides access to Napster and eMusic subscription services as well as Music ID song-recognition software, music videos and The Buzz music news portal. The handset is XM Radio Mobile-capable, so you can enjoy streaming live digital radio as well. (An AT&T MEdia Max subscription bundle is recommended for accessing AT&T's Internet, video, and music services.)

Like a micro laptop, the AT&T Tilt features a full QWERTY keyboard and a face/touchscreen that tilts up to 40 degrees.
Phone Features
Akin to a micro laptop, the AT&T Tilt's face/touchscreen tilts up to a maximum of 40 degrees, and the variable screen angle can be positioned to suit your needs, whether you're catching up on email, browsing the Web, or playing a game. The QWERTY keypad offers roomy, rectangular buttons that are tactile and backlit, making it easy to type with both thumbs while on the go. The large 2.8-inch touchscreen has a 240 x 320-pixel resolution and support for up to 65K colors. It sports a 256 MB memory (not all user available) and a MicroSD memory card slot, which is compatible with the latest 4 GB capacity.

This smartphone has an integrated Wi-Fi LAN (802.11b/g), enabling seamless connectivity with wireless networks at work, at home, and on the roam via Wi-Fi hotspots at airports and coffee shops. For an additional charge, you can connect to any of the 10,000 AT&T hotspot locations in the U.S. and tens of thousands more abroad. The AT&T Tilt supports Bluetooth 2.0, which allows up to six Bluetooth devices to be wirelessly connected simultaneously to the device--one of which can be a Bluetooth stereo headset for listening to music.

Featuring the latest version of Telenav GPS Navigator, you'll enjoyGPS-enabled turn-by-turn voice and on-screen driving direction, colorful 3D moving maps and traffic delay alerts with re-routing for use in vehicles or while walking. New features debuting on the Tilt include address sharing--allowing you to share your location with friends and associates--and reading, rating and sharing business listings like restaurants and more. Business users also can utilize TeleNav Track a fully hosted, on-demand and comprehensive GPS-based workforce-management solution.

In addition to Microsoft Direct Push, the AT&T Tilt will be the first Windows Mobile device in North America to include the Blackberry Connect email service, which also enables familiar wireless synchronization of calendar, contacts and tasks for users. BlackBerry Connect 4.0 supports push email for Microsoft Exchange Server, Lotus Notes/Domino and Novell Groupwise through the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and personal email through the BlackBerry Internet Service. You can also use the AT&T Tilt to access your personal email through AT&T's Xpress Mail service, enabling you to receive email from most major POP3/IMAP personal email services pushed to the AT&T Tilt at pre-set intervals. AT&T Xpress Mail can perform two-way wireless synchronization of their calendars, access contact lists and view attachments.

Beyond business functionality, the AT&T Tilt is made for fun and games as well. The device is preloaded with free and premium games and applications including Ms. PAC-MAN, Brain Challenge, Bubble breaker, Midnight Pool, Solitaire, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, MobiTV, and MyCast. Other features include:

Powered by Windows Mobile 6

Windows Mobile 6 adds power to your mobile office with up-to-date e-mail delivery and automatic synchronization of Outlook calendars.

Edit Word documents and Excel spreadsheets on your phone, just as you would on your desktop/laptop PC.
Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6 updates the Windows Mobile 5 platform with a number of handy features that make searching through email, editing Microsoft Office documents, and staying on top of your most important communications even easier. Emails can now be viewed in their original rich HTML format and now offer the ability to visit embedded links. It also includes Windows Live for Windows Mobile, which provides a full set of Windows Live services, such as the Windows Live Messenger IM application, which now enables you to chat with more than one person at one time or send a file.

With Windows Mobile 6, your phone will finally be able to emulate the power and features of your PC's Microsoft Office suite. You'll be able to neatly view, navigate and edit Word documents and Excel spreadsheets in their original formatting--without affecting tables, images or text--as well as view PowerPoint presentations.

All Windows Mobile 6 powered devices include Direct Push Technology for up-to-date e-mail delivery and automatic synchronization of Outlook calendars, tasks and contacts through Microsoft Exchange Server. It also offers a set of important device security and management features that include the capability to remotely wipe all data from a device should it be lost or stolen, helping ensure that confidential information remains that way.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars AT&T Tilt - Poor Design.......2007-12-31

Purchasing this product was the worst cell phone decision I have ever made. First warning should have been, that AT&T doesn't offer insurance on their own product, therefore proving they don't believe in their phone. I owned the phone less than 2 weeks, when I accidentally knocked it off a table approxamately 12 inches off the floor. The touch screen cracked and not even the warranty covers the cracked screen, since they consider this abuse.

5 out of 5 stars Great Phone, bit of a learning curve.......2007-12-30

I was a dedicated Palm user, and have just been using the LifeDrive, waiting until something better came along. In my opinion, nothing has from Palm yet. I finally had to get something that would talk to Vista and I really did not want to have all of my critical apps MS based. Grudgingly, I bought the Tilt and was very surprised by the flexibility, the speed, and the agility. There is a bit of a learning curve because its not a phone nor a palm, but it can do so much if you put in the time to program it and fine tune it for one's needs. The bluetooth really works with everything in range and it is a great music player to boot. It has a truckload of "bloat ware" and it tries to sell you stuff at every turn, but if you can ignore that then this is an excellent phone and PDA. and it works seamlessly with Outlook.

5 out of 5 stars at&t Tilt.......2007-12-28

An Excellent device. The hardware on this phone is excellent and is by far the fastest windows mobile device I have ever used. Phone feels solid, keyboard is nice and big for typing. Its good for people with huge thumbs. There are multiple ways to change options or access programs on the phone for ease of use.

However, the at&t Tilt comes loaded with a bunch of junk that you don't really need. For example, teleNAV. Its a bloated piece of junk that takes up a ton of memory. Delete it and get google maps, (its free and works perfectly with GPS).

Also, some software hacks may be needed to fully use all the features of this phone. For example, it would seem that HDSPA is not enabled by default. Some registry tweaks are needed to enable this. It is much faster than 3G and essential for those who tether their phone with their laptop for mobile internet.

2 out of 5 stars Not a great "phone" with tons of great PDA options.......2007-12-26

this was my first attempt at an att phone. it had lots of neat options and the web worked well. Sadly as far as the "phone" funtions.. it doesnt work great. the sound was "windy" and it is very difficult to dial on the touch screen and a pain in the neck to open, turn and try to hit the right keys on the querty keyboard. I also found it difficult to look at the screen for extended periods of time and a friend who is a "techy" had said the same thing... I am going to the blackberry world instead. understand if you want only PDA functions its pretty cool. but you should get a separate cell phone for your calls. The man at the Att Store said its the biggest complaint about the phone.

4 out of 5 stars Loving it but I got some questions.......2007-12-24

Okay got the phone, actually ordered it on Walmart which had it for $99 after mail in rebates. Anyway I've been playing around with it for about a week or so...feeling like a kid in a candy store every time I figure something out. Will admitt there are 10 steps when there could be 5 but still once you get the hang of it those steps seem to disappear. The camera is decent, slow at first and I haven't really figured out when its actually taking a picture leading to all the blurry snapshots I know have. It locked up on me last night which was the first night I've actually kept it on all night. Not a good thing since I use my phone as my alarm and it didn't go off this morning. Also the flashing blue and yellow light all night reminded me of a lighthouse beacon in the dark, again not another good thing since I prefer to sleep in the dark...can that be turned down?

Here are the rest of my questions...thanks in advance

1. Can you start a text message while on a call? I've gotten a few but can't figure out how to send one(not reply).

2. How do you copy a file to another folder, in particular MP3's. I like certain things to play for different things such as missed calls, texts, incoming emails. The sounds they have are not what I have in mind but I can't seem to copy a file over.

3. Is there anyway you can prevent the phone from going black while on a call?

4. I went to manual mode for email downloading and yet it still does them on its own how do I prevent that from happening again?

BlackBerry 8310 Curve Titanium Smartphone (AT&T)

Amazon.com Product Description

Swelling the Blackberry Curve's already formidable arsenal of telephonic and connectivity tools, the titanium Blackberry 8310 Curve now adds an internal GPS receiver with support for TeleNav GPS Navigator software and push-to-talk (PTT) capability--an AT&T exclusive. An amalgam of the svelte BlackBerry Pearl and the more business-oriented 8800, the 8310 Curve is the smallest, lightest BlackBerry phone that includes a full QWERTY keyboard. And it combines RIM's long-valued push email and messaging platform with a host of advanced multimedia features, including a 2-megapixel camera and stereo Bluetooth (for listening to music via wireless headphones). This quadband phone operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 networks and can handle high-speed data connectivity via AT&T's EDGE network, with availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. It also offers global voice roaming in over 190 and data roaming in over 130 countries.

Staying Connected

The svelte, titanium BlackBerry 8310 Curve offers a full QWERTY keyboard, innovative trackball navigation system (placed above the keyboard) and large 2.5-inch screen.
The Blackberry 8310 Curve delivers the legendary BlackBerry email experience. With BlackBerry service plans from AT&T, you can receive emails instantaneously from up to 10 email accounts (personal and enterprise). With BlackBerry push technology, you don't need to retrieve your email. BlackBerry devices are designed to remain on and continuously connected to the wireless network, allowing you to be discreetly notified as new email arrives. Support is also built-in for viewing email attachments (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPerfect, and PDF formats).

If your company has a BlackBerry Enterprise Server installed, you can also take advantage of the power of wireless calendar synchronization. Your calendar events are exchanged wirelessly and automatically so that your desktop calendar and BlackBerry handheld calendar are synchronized. All your Outlook meeting requests, changes, and updates are instantaneously synchronized instantaneously with your desktop. Make meeting requests, invite new attendees and more, all on your Blackberry 8310 Curve. Users without BlackBerry Enterprise Server support can manually sync with their desktop calendars and contacts via Bluetooth or USB using the included BlackBerry Desktop Software.

BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) is complimentary with the activation of a AT&T BlackBerry service plan (additional charges apply) and provides customers with the ability to have their personal or work email pushed automatically to their BlackBerry phone from multiple Internet Service Provider (ISP) email accounts. BIS provides automatic wireless synchronization of read, deleted, and sent email from the your BlackBerry phone to their desktop email account. Users with multiple accounts can choose from multiple "sent from" addresses when sending an email. You can also download ringtones and other content via AT&T's popular MEdia Net service or browse the Web using the BlackBerry HTML Browser. Wireless text messaging and multimedia messaging (MMS) are also supported by the BlackBerry 8820.

AT&T Exclusive Features
Among the unique features of the Blackberry 8310 Curve are AT&T's Push-to-Talk (PTT) service and TeleNav GPS Navigator. AT&T Push-to-Talk boasts the largest push to talk coverage area in America. PTT features on the BlackBerry 8820 include "availability" icons, quick group calling, and the ability to easily convert a PTT session to a regular wireless voice call. You can use your 8310 Curve to Push-to-Talk to communicate with individual colleagues or friends, or set up groups for broader communication. The PTT button, on the left side of the device (noted by three raised dots), easily facilitates each PTT call (simply press and hold to talk after the chirp and release when finished). In addition, the AT&T service offers such standard PTT features as call waiting, contact alerts, as well as text, picture, and voice messaging to anyone in their contact list.

You can also take advantage of the TeleNav GPS Navigator software, the full-featured premium navigation application that includes audible turn-by-turn directions, real-time traffic updates and re-routing options, and 3D moving maps. It comes as a 30-day trial version, and it can be downloaded via the TeleNav web site or via virtual pre-load icon (VPL) after activation.

Phone Design & Features
This 8310 Curve is fashioned in a titanium finish and subtly curving corners. Measuring 4.2 x 2.4 inches, the Curve is just as slim as the Pearl (0.6 inches) and weighs in at 3.9 ounces--just 0.7 ounces heavier than its predecessor. It features a bright 2.5-inch color TFT screen that provides 65,000 colors and a 320 x 240-pixel resolution, and it includes a light-sensing feature that automatically adjusts backlighting for indoor, outdoor and dark environments. Like the BlackBerry 8800, the Curve includes a trackball navigation system located on the top of the QWERTY keypad, and it also features an integrated spell checker with a customizable dictionary to help maintain accuracy while on the go. It has 64 MB of internal ROM memory, and is expandable using MicroSD memory cards. The battery provides up to 4 hours (240 minutes) of talk time and up to 17 days (408 hours) of standby time.

You can snap vivid photos (though no video) using the 2-megapixel camera on the back of the Curve, which also features a 5x digital zoom, built-in flash, self-portrait mirror and full screen viewfinder. It can capture images in up to three picture quality and size resolutions that can be shared instantly by email, MMS or BlackBerry Messenger, or even uploaded to your Flickr account with the Yahoo! Go service. Photos can also be immediately set as a unique caller ID or Home Screen image. You can edit photos and create albums within the Curve using the PhotoSuite application. Pictures can be cropped, rotated and straightened, and flaws can be fixed by removing redeye or changing the brightness, contrast, and saturation levels.

Listen to your favorite music and watch downloaded videos using the included stereo headset, or use an optional wireless headphone thanks to the Curve's support for the Bluetooth stereo audio profile (A2DP/AVRCP). The Curve is compatible with a wide variety of file formats, including MP3, WMA and AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ audio and WMV, MPEG4 and H.263 video. Dedicated volume controls are conveniently located on the side of the handset. You can also subscribe to the AT&T Music service, which includes access to online subscription music content from eMusic, XM Satellite Radio and more.

With the Voice-Activated Dialing (VAD) feature, you can initiate a call just by telling the Curve who to call from your contact list--either via the integrated speakerphone or using an optional Bluetooth wireless headset. Other advanced phone features include advanced sound technology that cancels out background noise and echo, dedicated volume and mute keys, and the ability to customize the Curve with polyphonic and MP3 ringtones.

Vital Statistics
The BlackBerry 8310 Curve weighs 3.9 ounces and measures 4.2 x 2.4 x 0.6 inches. Its 1100 mAh lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 4 hours of talk time, and up to 408 hours (17 days) of digital standby time. It runs on the 850/900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequencies.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A review from a devoted blackberry user.......2007-12-26

The 8310 is my third Blackberry, before this one I had the 8300, and got this one because it has a better screen and GPS. Blackberry is not fancy like the iphone, but it is easy to use and pretty self explainitory. Blackberries are great for people who are professionals, or even students. This a wonderful phone, everything is very organized and easy to understand, unlike the 8300, this has clearer, brighter more varied colors. The track ball is easy to use, and the full qwerty keyboard coming in handy for writing e-mails or texts. It offers the setup wizard which well easily help you set up the phone including linking it to your e-mail, it was very easy to link my yahoo mail onto this and check it in one click. The camera is pretty good, but not as good as something like the iphone, but cameras arn't really what people buy blackberries for.

4 out of 5 stars Generally excellent.......2007-12-21

This is my first time with a PDA/phone and find it to be extremely useful. Great sound quality on calls, no more dropped calls, and easy switching from application to application. Easy retrival of email. It's there already!! The music player sound is as good as my ipod, although Itunes software is far superior to Roxio. I bought this model to have access to its GPS capability. From that respect, I am disappointed. The Tel-Nav system leaves an awful lot to be desired. Too many times it took me off a highway only to put me right back on. It has no clue as to traffic conditions. Many times it wanted to re-route me because of "heavy traffic ahead" and fortunately I ignored the advice and continued on at the posted speed limit throughout my trip. This is not a hit on the phone itself but it is to say that if you are thinking about buying this phone for this feature, you should think twice.

4 out of 5 stars It's good, but could have been better........2007-11-22

I have been using this phone for two weeks now. It works great as a phone. However, I do not like couple of things about it-
1) You cannot dial letters- example, if you want to dial- 1-800-CALL-ATT, the numbers do not have letters on them.
2) You cannot creat voice notes for yourself. My old very basic Sanyo phone allowed me to do that. I used to record where I parked at the airport when going out of town.

3 out of 5 stars Didn't fully meet my expectations.........2007-11-18

I'm coming from a palm treo 650..I actually was pretty happy with it, but unfortunatly I lost it..So in my search for a new phone, I had narrowed it down to the iphone, palm treo 680 and the blackberry curve..After reading reviews and playing around with each phone (except the treo 680), I decided to go with the curve, my first blackberry.
Upon first recieving it, I absolutly loved the size and style as well as the keyboard. I wanted to like it so bad but unfortunatly after 30 days, I don't and will be going back to a treo.
Here's how I came to this decision..
TEXT MESSAGING: Coming from the treo which organizes your text conversations into a chat window, I hate the fact that on the curve each text is listed individually, and by the end of the day I have a long list of texts from so many different people, it's hard to keep track of each conversation or go back to a certain message without having to scroll all the way down and look for it.
CALLING OUT: Almost imposible while driving unless it's a speed dial (which isn't always responsive)The numbers are so small and navigating through the address book with that little ball is a pain, then you have to select whether you would like to dial home mobile or work..by the time I've done all this I'm suprised I haven't rear-ended the car in front of me! The treos huge touch screen dial pad and one tap address book is way more user friendly in my opinion.
INSTANT MESSAGING: Doesn't have aim, had to dl it from jivetalk for $20..happy with the way it works once I did so.
KEYBOARD: Probably one of my favorite things about this phone..makes text and im a one handed breeze!
CAMERA: Ok, better than the treo's and picture messaging is fast and easy with the curve. Nice that is has flash (although blinding at times).
PICTURE MESSAGING: Fast and easy sending/recieving, way better than the treo, which sometimes I would have a hard time opening pm as the touch screen wouldnt respond sometimes when I would tap on the link.
CALENDER: Probably my biggest pet pieve with the curve. Setting appointments, reminders and navigating through the calender with the treo was a breeze. The curve seems limited in it's reminder capabilities. Takes a lot longer to navigate through and actually make and appoinment..This is one of my main uses for the phone and is the main reason why I'm choosing to bring it back.
TASKS: Horrible reminder capabilities! Reminds you once and that's it! You're on your own after that! The treo would display tasks on the home screen at the start of that day and would keep reminding you until you physically check it off as done. I need that because I have so many things going on I need constant reminders or I will forget to do something.
CALCULATOR: Confusing and a little time consuming to use, the treos large touch screen calculator is like having an actual calculator in your hand.
EMAIL: Hands down the best feature of the bb curve. Emails arrive as they are sent, which is something the treo lacked. My emails would only arrive at scheduled intrevals, if they came at all. Emailing is not however something I use alot, but someone who does will love this phone.
WEB BROWSING: Slow, scrolling takes forever on a long page, most pages won't open completley..Also for frequent myspace users..you cannot reply to myspace emails from the curve for some reason. Maybe I just haven't figured it out yet, but I've never been able too. Basically using the bb curve as a web browser is useless, as it is with the treo as well..The only phone I've used with awesome web browsing is the iphone and the treo 750.
CALL/SOUND QUALITY/SPEAKERPHONE: All awesome, reception is great, call volume is nice and loud and speakerphone is the best I've experienced from a cell phone yet. I can set the phone on my center console in my car and speak with the window open and the radio on and my callers can still hear me perfectly.
BATTERY: SUCKS! I have to recharge daily, and if the battery is really low, you cannot even use the phone at all even if it is plugged into the charger, unlike most phones where even if the phone is dead, once you plug it into the charger you can still use it..Really inconvienient, especially in an emergency!

Conclusion..
PROS: Keyboard, camera, call sound/quality/speakerphone
CONS: Battery, calender, placing a call while driving, texting, web browsing
I'll admit there are alot of things I do like about the curve, but unfortunatly it's just not going to work for me for what I need it for. BB seems a little behind the times when it comes to certain things and hopefully in the future the technology will become better and the kinks will be ironed out. Imagine a bb with a touch screen, better time managment applications, chat style texting, video, and faster internet.. they would shut the other pda companies down! But until then I'm going back to my treo.

5 out of 5 stars Best AT&T Smartphone out there.......2007-11-17

This is the best smartphone I have ever had. I purchased the 8300 but swapped it out for an 8310 when it became available. GPS works great both with Google Maps and the TeleNav service. Disabled PTT if you don't use it and the phone will run much faster. Multimedia features do the job and the Roxio software makes managing your songs easier.

T-Mobile Wing myFaves Smartphone (T-Mobile)

Amazon.com Product Description

The successor to the popular MDA Smartphone, the T-Mobile Wing quad-band phone has a surprise waiting up its sleeve: just slide the top of the phone sideways to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. It's especially handy with the inclusion of the new Windows Mobile 6 operating system, which enables you to view and edit Word and Excel documents as well as provides instant message capabilities via Windows Live Messenger. (See more details about Windows Mobile 6 below.) The included Outlook Mobile software offers up-to-date e-mail, calendar and contact information. If you use the T-Mobile Wing in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange Server, you can get instant e-mail from your work account as well as enhanced security features that let you clear data from a device if it is stolen or require high-security passwords to access information.

The T-Mobile slides open sideways to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard, and the screen reorients itself depending on how you hold the phone.

Click the image to view a larger version of the keyboard.
Key features at a glance:

The T-Mobile Wing has a sleek profile that measures just 17mm (0.7 inches) thick, and it weighs a svelte 6 ounces (with battery loaded). The 2.8-inch color touchscreen transreflective TFT screen automatically orients itself depending on how you hold the phone (i.e., from portrait to landscape and back again). It displays 65,000 colors and has a 320 x 240-pixel resolution. You can scroll through onscreen functions with a pen or finger, or you can use the function buttons placed on the front of the phone.

In addition to supporting GSM/GPRS and EDGE, the Wing also features Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), which enables you to use open wireless networks (as well as T-Mobile's more than 8,000 HotSpot locations) to access the Internet as well as access all four major instant messaging providers--AOL, Yahoo!, Windows Live Messenger, and ICQ. With the Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, you can go hands-free with a headset or listen to music with wireless-enabled headphones.

The phone offers 128 MB of ROM (which stores the Windows Mobile 6 operating system and applications) and 64 MB of RAM (which can be used to store user files). It's powered by a 1130 mAh lithium-ion polymer rechargeable battery, which offers between 150 and 200 hours of standby time and 3 to 5 hours of talk time.

A small mirror next to the 2-megapixel lens on the back is handy for taking self portraits..
The 2-megapixel autofocus camera (with 10x digitazl zoom) on the back of the Wing captures images up to 1600 x 1200 pixels (good enough for prints up to 8 x 10 inches), and it includes a small mirror to the left of the lens that's helpful for taking self portraits. You can make such camera adjustments as white balance and exposure metering, choose from several capture modes (such as sports for fast-moving action), or set a self-timer of either 2 or 10 seconds. After an image has been captured, you can edit it right within the Wing, with functions ranging from cropping to correcting color.

Additionally, the Wing can capture video with or without audio (in MPEG-4 or H.263 format, the latter being best for sending via MMS). In addition to starting and stopping video capture at your leisure, you can also specifiy the length of a recording in terms of ime or file size. You can also play back audio and video files downloaded from the Internet or sent to you via email using the integrated Windows Media Player.

The HTC P4350 uses an 1130 mAh Polymer battery for its energy. This high capacity battery offers a standby time of 150 hours and a call time of 3 hours, according to the manufacturer.

5 out of 5 stars Solid construction and really great phone.......2007-12-31

If you're a professional looking for a device that can setup multiple email accounts, instant messaging, touch screen, and a good comfortable keyboard then this product is it. The device is well constructed with a convenient slide out keypad for either messaging/email, etc.. The battery life is adequate when charged daily. The device also comes with windows mobile 6 and a lot of communication methods such as bluetooth, usb, etc..

5 out of 5 stars The bomb.......2007-12-30

I love the wing. i got the wing for christmas and it is the best on the wing you can get full connection from almost anywhere i also like it because compared to the blackberry if u go on aim you get your whole friend list. I love this phone so much

5 out of 5 stars Very very nice value for money.......2007-12-11

I wanted a multipurpose phone ( not a home theater in a box phone).
The phone has very fast GPRS internet access. We used this phone to get around the city on our recent visit to orlando.
Download Google Maps or use Live Search for map service. You can also use it as a GPS receiver (pair with GPS like Magellan 3140) and you are all set.

I did not want the blackberry cos the keyboard make the phone look big and this problem was solved with this machine. The slide in keryboard is very nice.
The touch keyboard is reponsive, not the best but good for all purposes.
The phone performs very well when used as a phone. Absolutely no dropped calls, nice speaker phone ( i liked the RAZRs speaker phone better), good Address book. Camera/video camera is mediocre at best, and I have a 2GB micros SD card which resolved all my memory issues.
Absolutely wonderful value for money device.

5 out of 5 stars Extremely Happy with my Wing.......2007-12-07

I'll keep this as simple as I can.

Windows Mobile is for users who enjoy configuring and playing with the OS, business users, etc. If you want something super simple to text message and what not, grab a Sidekick.

For me, I use my Wing with an exchange server and directpush to sync my outlook, emails, etc. It works like a champ. Another cool feature of this phone is it's ability to act as a modem for your laptop. It takes about 30 seconds of configuration (programs >> accessories >> internet sharing, set "usb" and "wmodem link") and plug it in, voila, unlimited internet on my laptop, no crazy charges, providing you have the dataplan, which you will most likely anyways.

I have overclocked my phone to 260mhz to speed things up using "Battery Status" and have no real performance issues, I use Opera Mini web browser and it's cool as hell. Another REALLY amazing app I suggest is S2U2 - it's a lock screen that allows you to slide2unlock much like iphones, plus it gives you visual prompts of missed calls, messages, etc... REALLY cool.

I also suggest grabbing the latest version of Live Search too. Plus the phone comes with Live Messenger on it, and it's full featured, you can send pictures via IM, voice clips, and obviously messages with ease, and it works great.

The phone's keyboard slides out nicely and works great, the camera is pretty good as well.

At the end of the day, with a little configuration and customization, you can really go a long ways with this phone. It's been a champ for me for the last 6 months of daily use, battery life is great too.

I'm just not sure what to really complain about here.

1 out of 5 stars Totally Unusable.......2007-11-12

At the time of writing this, I have had my t-mobile wing for three months. In the span of those three months, my t-mobile wing has become completely unusable.

At this point, if I had to call 911, it would probably take me about 5 minutes of either waiting for the phone to actually go to the phone application, or 10 minutes if I got impatient after waiting two minutes and decided to turn the phone on and off in hopes that the phone will somehow decide to work.

This is coming from a techno geek who thought it would be cool to have the latest and best phone. I even read the manual, and have never dropped it once.

Did you ever wonder if one day technology would go too far and make a phone that was too complex, to the point of being unusable?

This is that phone. Never again will I buy a smartphone, I'll just stick to the 19.99 ones, because after this all I care about is having a phone that works.

BlackBerry 8310 Curve Red Smartphone (AT&T)

Amazon.com Product Description

Swelling the Blackberry Curve's already formidable arsenal of telephonic and connectivity tools, the red Blackberry 8310 Curve now adds an internal GPS receiver with support for TeleNav GPS Navigator software and push-to-talk (PTT) capability--an AT&T exclusive.

The svelte BlackBerry 8310 Curve in red (an AT&T exclusive) offers a full QWERTY keyboard, innovative trackball navigation system (placed above the keyboard) and large 2.5-inch screen.

This 8310 Curve is fashioned in a red finish and subtly curving corners.

5 out of 5 stars Love it!.......2007-12-15

I've bought at least 200 items from Amazon and I've never once written a review. With the Blackberry Curve 8310, I can't resist writing one. My husband has an original Blackberry from about 4 years ago. I've used it a few times, mainly on trips, but I didn't think it was particularly intuitive. I never felt comfortable with the features or buttons.

I have 6 kids and a very full calendar. I am constantly finding myself making follow-up dentist/doctor/hair appointments and having to call to reschedule once I reconcile the appointment card with my calendar (this happens whether I am using a paper calendar or my Outlook calendar).

I am often out and about and need a phone number. Late for picking up the kids at preschool? I'm out of luck if I don't have the school number and/or the number of a parent of another preschooler to pick my child up.

I'm the room parent for another child's classroom. I often run into parents who ask me what they signed up to bring for the next classroom event. Easy enough with the new Blackberry.

On Monday mornings after I get the kids on the bus, I sit down with the all-encompassing bin of `for the calendar', `for the address book' and `for the notepad' scraps of paper. I enter them all into Outlook on my desktop computer. This may sound like a

5 out of 5 stars More than just business.......2007-10-12

Like most tech-savvy professionals, I use and rely on a BlackBerry at work. In fact, I've been an addict for quite some time. I recently updated from an 8700 to this amazing phone. The email, calendar and address book are all what you expect and are accustomed to from BlackBerry. There are a ton of great improvements and I've outlined my likes and dislikes below.

Pros:

* The screen appears to be the same 320x240 screen that is found on the older 8700. It's outstanding and flat out huge. There are various levels of backlighting and there is a handy auto-DIM feature that adjusts the backlight according to room lighting conditions.
* The rollerball took a little getting used to, but after less than a day, I'm an expert. OK, not quite an expert, but I dialed in the sensitivity to suit my needs. I also turned off that annoying clicking sound. I guess that was supposed to simulate the audible "click" you would get from the old wheel.
* The keyboard is perfect. I was really scared about going to something new but the spacing and texture are dead-on. Typing is a breeze.
* Spell-Check; a warm welcome to something that has been missing for a LONG time. It's also super-easy to use. I get a prompt right before I send an email asking me to approve typos. Great job BlackBerry!
* The multimedia software is excellent; both on the device and on the desktop. You can watch movies, listen to MP3s and check out your photos on the handset. The Music software is not as good as what's on the Sony Walkman w580i phone, but it gets the job done. The Roxio-powered Media Manager software for the desktop offers super-easy drag and drop of MP3s and movies. It even converts files on the fly so they work with the Curve. This is one of the best additions to BlackBerry. The easy to use interface really turns this into a multimedia device.
* The camera is pretty good too. The LED flash is very bright and allows for a decent photo in low light. Full Screen view finder is a nice plus. There is even a little mirror on the back for self portraits.
* 3.5mm Stereo/Audio Jack is built-in. No adapter needed. Amen BlackBerry! Just plug my Shure buds in and I'm in audio bliss.
* Real GPS! This is awesome. I've just started to tinker with the TeleNav software. I don't like the fact there is a monthly fee, but the turn-by-turn directions rival standalone navigation systems I've used. It's awesome but pricey. I'll start hunting for alternative navigation software.

Cons:

* Doesn't record video
* No 3G or Wi-Fi
* Monthly fees associated with true turn-by-turn navigation software. The GPS does work great with BlackBerry Maps and Google Maps for location. Not quite the same as Telenav.
* Memory card is located under the battery. I find it very annoying that I have to power down the phone to remove and replace the card. Hey, at least it's MicroSD.
* It's a fingerprint magnet. Not iPod bad, but visible enough that I keep wiping down the body.
* No playlist support for the music software.

All in, this is the best BlackBerry I've ever owned. Highly recommended.

Under the hood, the Dash features 23 MB of built-in flash memory, a memory card slot for more memory, and a speedy 200 MHz OMAP 850 processor. Up front, the large 2.4-inch 320 x 240 QVGA touch-screen supports over 65,000 colors, while the rear of the device houses the 1.3-megapixel camera. The design of the Dash is clean and uncluttered, with most of the buttons easily accessible with one hand. Just to the right side of the display you'll find convenient up/down keys for volume adjustment and handy keys for browser control. There's also a handy HTC JOGGR control pad with variable speed, drag, and hold functions that makes document viewing a pleasure. Meanwhile, call answer and end buttons surround a five-way toggle that allows you to navigate and control the Windows Mobile interface. A full QWERTY keyboard resides underneath the large display. As mentioned earlier, a microSD memory expansion card slot is provided, and USB/Bluetooth connectivity is included for convenient data transfers.

Calling and PDA Features
The Dash's phone and PDA functions are designed to provide an integrated, seamless experience. The included Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone software with Direct Push technology gives you instant access to your emails, calendar, and contacts at anytime. That means wherever and whenever, you'll be connected. A single main screen summarizes all the important information you need to make it through the day. Here you'll get message notification, upcoming appointments, dialing functions, tasks, and more all in one spot.

As a phone, the Dash features all the functionality folks expect from an advanced cell phone, including a handsfree speakerphone, polyphonic ringtones, a vibrate mode, and picture and ringer ID. Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile combines email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes into a single application that seamlessly integrates with the Dash's phone functions. Meanwhile, headsets, car kits and other wireless peripherals can also be paired with the unit via Bluetooth.

Staying productive on the road is made possible by the Microsoft Office Mobile suite, which includes Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, and PowerPoint Mobile. Meanwhile, the File Explorer application makes it easy to browse the files on your Dash.

Like all T-Mobile phones, the Dash supports voicemail, caller ID, conference calling, call forwarding, call waiting, call hold, built-in paging, and access to T-Mobile's 411 service.

This phone is fully compatible with T-Mobile's myFaves service, which allows you to call up to five of your most common contacts--on any network, even landlines--without using any of your minutes. Learn more about myFaves.

Messaging and Internet
Using T-Mobile's EDGE-powered Internet service, you can surf the Web with the bundled Internet Explorer application, or use MSN, Yahoo!, or AOL messenger services to stay in contact via instant messaging. Plus, the inclusion of Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) in the Dash allows you to surf the Web or check your email at blazing speeds when you're connected to a Wi-Fi network. With the purchase of T-Mobile Hotspot data service, you can get online at thousands of locations coast-to-coast. Lastly, robust SMS and MMS functionality is built into the Windows Mobile interface, too.

One of the most important tools bundled with the Dash is Microsoft ActiveSync, which allows you to quickly synchronize your device's tasks, calendars, email, and contacts with your desktop. You also get Exchange ActiveSync, an application that lets you synchronize data with an Exchange server. Syncing can be done via USB or wirelessly via Bluetooth.

Imaging and Entertainment
Another great feature of the Dash is that it supports Windows Media playback right out of the box. With Windows Media Player, you can play streaming and downloaded video and audio content in a variety of formats. You can also keep favorite tunes loaded on a memory card and listen to your music wherever you roam.

As mentioned, the Dash can take 1.3-megapixel pictures, and while the camera is great for taking stills, it can also function as a camcorder, allowing you to capture video to the unit's memory. An integrated media application organizes your captured photos and videos. For gamers, the phone supports Java-based and Windows Mobile games.

The Dash also sports an airplane mode feature, which allows the user to safely use the non-wireless functions of a phone (such as music, games, or organizer functions) on an airplane during flight.

Vital Statistics
The T-Mobile Dash weighs 4.23 ounces and measures 4.39 x 2.46 x 0.51 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 5 hours of digital talk time, and up to 216 hours of digital standby time. 2 out of 5 stars Unreliable.......2007-12-28

Hard to say -- is it the phone or is it T-Mobile? -- but this phone is just not a reliable communication tool. I've had it for about 5 months now and I use it for phone calls, email, and web surfing. Every now and then it would freeze and would have to be rebooted. Sometimes it can be very slow. Sometimes service disappears and doesn't come back for some time -- while the phone remains in the same place where it was only a moment ago. Sometimes the battery charge doesn't last a day, with only modest use during the day.

Granted, most of the time it works fine -- but a communication tool should work all the time.

1 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy This Phone!!!.......2007-12-21

This phone sure seemed cool before the LCD cracked on day 5 of owning it. Sitting in my jacket pocket no less. Guess what the manufacturers warranty does not cover? Yep...the LCD. Scheisters!!!... I hope HTC drowns in a polluted puddle in China..and takes the CEO of TMobile with it and that brainless girl with the awful voice from customer service. "I'm sorry sir, that's too bad we just robbed you of $300.00 :)" Yea! @#@$ You!!! Scheisters!!! I hope this helps...Happy Holidays!

2 out of 5 stars T-mobile dash.......2007-11-27

I have been using this phone but not happy with the battery life, it dies fast if you use Wi-Fi. Would recommend Blackberry curve instead.

4 out of 5 stars Great all-around PDA; beware of fragile screen.......2007-11-25

I bought this phone when it was originally launched at a reduced cost and my only regret is that I broke the screen with it in my pocket. I was able to talk my way out of the deductible and just paid shipping or I might not be as pleased with my experience.
First off, the phone works well. Good volume and reception. I did have some problems with the phone link turning itself off but that disappeared when I updated the operating system.
The Windows Mobile Media Player is awesome once you add a MicroSD card and a quality pair of earbuds. The ones included do not stay in my ear (my problem, not the buds) but sound great when I can get them seated correctly.
I didn't have any problems syncing it to my computer, Yahoo Email, or my companies Outlook, when my company allowed it.
Overall for what I spent and what it has delivered you could do much worse.

5 out of 5 stars Best Phone Ever.......2007-11-21

I've owned a number of smartphones, this is by far the top performer. Easy to use, intuitive interface, and the 6.0 OS is bug free. The only user interface complaint I had was the volume strip, but disabling this feature in the phone settings has made it operationally flawless. I am a heavy email user and this phone's email set-up and system is the best I have experienced.

Don't spend more on another phone, this one does it all.
