Purchased for grade school children who have no problem using them. Compatible and easy to upload music etc. from Windows Media Player.
Only problem is that the supplied instruction booklet could have given a bit more information on how to use all of the features. However, the complete manual is available online - all 37 pages of it.

We bought two of these for our kids (ages 10 & 13) for Christmas. They are awesome!! They sound great! My husband and I now would both like one. It comes with software to use but you don't have to. You can just open up a window and drag & drop the music. For those of us that don't have millions of GB of music, these are great!

This is the best mp3 player I've had to date (most which have only lasted for a few months). I've had this mp3 player for about 2 years and I've never had a problem with it. I've dropped it on concrete a few times and it is still up and running. Transferring music is a breeze, just drag and drop. The sound quality is good. It's small and lightweight. The only annoying thing is that I have to constantly buy batteries for it (AAA) and everytime I try to put my playlist in order on my computer, it reverts back to the order the sandisk had it in (therefore none of my songs are in the order I want them in). I would definitely recommend it, especially for the price.

Outstanding Performance
The TH-42PZ700U is 1080p, meaning it has a full 1920 x 1080 resolution, the highest HD resolution available for the clearest and sharpest picture. Because of its plasma display, the black levels are deep and the uniformity of brightness is superb. The unit has 4096 shades of gradation and has up to a 5000:1 contrast ratio. I purchased a Sony LCD several months ago and have been unhappy with the black level on that set. I needed a second set for my studio and did my research. All indications were that plasma would deliver the goods as far as black level is concerned. So I had this Panasonic delivered a couple of weeks ago. I set up the system, cranked up the PS3 with Kubrick's 2001 Blu-Ray. The opening scene for this film was a heartbreaker. No blacks in sight. It's gray upon gray upon gray. The deep space scenes are GRAY. The letterbox bars are GRAY. Now in most scenes with a variety of contrast, the "apparent" black (or what I could call "contextual" black) is excellent. Unfortunately many of my favorite films are of the noir variety. Scenes where the majority of the screen is intended to be black are a wash-out. You can see the gray of the screen kick in when you power it up. It is incapable of getting any darker. Maybe the Pioneer Kuro is better, but that's a bit beyond my budget. maybe the new LED's are better. I wish I had waited another few months. I guess I'll get used to this, but honestly I don't know what these viewers are seeing when they rave about the black level on this set. It's not much (if at all) better than the Sony LCD.

I felt obligated to write a review of this TV since I had read almost every review I could find on the internet. My final decision was between this and a Samsung LNT4065F. The Samsung may be a fine TV but this TV is absolutely amazing. My regular programming is basic cable at 480i which looks great. This TV really shines though when hooked up with my Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD player. I also just received a mac mini for Christmas. I hooked it up with a dvi/hdmi conversion cable which displays the desktop at 1900x1080. HD Movie trailers downloaded from Apple look stunning.
I would easily buy this TV again if I had the choice to do so.

This was my first HDTV, so I went through a lot of research before I chose the TH-42PZ700U. Every review, both from customers and professional reviewers, all agreed that this television offers the best picture possible in the 42" HDTV market. Now that I have it in the house I couldn't agree more. The colors and picture quality is outstanding. Standard definition (480i) channels look great and HD (1080i) channels must be seen to be believed. The built-in sound is the icing on the cake. They're far beyond anything I've experienced with standard television speakers.
The only negative that I can find is that it does generate a considerable amount of heat, but this is par for the course with plasma TV's. The difference in color quality and viewing angles in plasma over LCD makes this a very minor issue.
All I can say is do yourself a favor and buy this TV. You won't regret it.

Finally get High Definition........2007-12-31
Finally got rid of my ancient 19" CRT. The FREE high definition channels from CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX are amazing. The built in QAM tuner picks up these channels. My only complaint is that it takes about 2 seconds to switch between channels (it's slow). Make sure you get players that have a HDMI connection so you can view the best quality picture instead of using the Component, S-Video, or Composite video connections in the back. The audio is okay from the built in speakers that you cannot remove but luckily it has a digital audio output. I was mostly interested in 1080P support, a high contrast ratio, the price, and how thin this LCD is compared to other LCDs. The manual shows it at a thickness of 3.75 inches and it comes with a stand which is really easy to put together. Comes with a small hex key tool and screws so no tools are needed for the stand. Oh! And it comes with a small silk-like cloth to keep your screen clean without scratching it.

The Sharp Aquos LC42D64U Sharp Aquos LC42D64U 42" 1080p LCD HDTVis a great buy. It has an amazing picture and the sound is pretty great too. I wasn't aware of which type of HDMI cable to buy wehen I purchased the tv, I recommend getting a top of the line cable. Before I had the cable, the picture on the tv was not of good quality. After using the HDMI cable Hd channels look absolutely beautiful. There's incredible depth to the picture and way more detail than 480i tv. This is my first HD capable TV ever. I did a lot of research and it took me almost a year to decide which TV, Brand and so on to go with. I found that this tv was the best quality i could find a without paying $5000. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone.

I use my 42" 64 series Sharp HDTV with a Toshiba A20,80GB PS3 and PC to view and record OTA HD programs in Vista Ultimate Media Center. I also use it to view home HD videos from my Canon TX1 and they all look fantastic.
A Good Deal.......2007-12-28
This was my third LCD TV purchase since 2005. LCD's have come a long way in the last two years. I paid less for this fully loaded 42 inch LCD than I did for my first LCD, a 30 incher with non HDCP compliant DVI hookup, no HDMI and no tuner. The Sharp Aquos has everything you want. 1080p, 3 HDMI, HD component, built in tuner for cable and antenna, and it looks very elegant in with its svelted profile. Calibration is key to getting your money's worth from today's televisions. The bigbox stores are actually charging 200-300 bucks for calibration. Unbelievable. I used my old tv to calibrate my new one. Now that I have it calibrated I'm in tv viewing heaven. I just watched Bladerunner on HD-DVD. It was a revelation, I was in awe. If I could add something to the Sharp it would be to have unique video profiles for each input because each input is processing the video differently. If I calibrate my tv to perfection for the xbox 360 it may not be the perfect calibration for the PS3 of for digital tv. Calibration is not an exact science. It's a lot like using filters in Photoshop. I imagine in the future tv's will have filters just like Photoshop. They could also name the inputs by type instead of generic "input 1", "input 2". It could also use one more digital audio hookup, either an additional optical or a coaxial which it doesn't have. Those are very minor issues though. It's a great Tv for HD viewing and gaming.

Had it for 2 months, great so far. Awesome picture, although I have yet to calibrate it. Works great with my TiVoHD. Plenty of connections, although I wish the ones near the front didn't stick out so much (the rest are hidden in the back).

Be warned if you need repair service.......2007-12-09
I got this TV three weeks ago and it worked great - for a week. Then it didn't turn on or respond to the remote. I called Panasonic and they said it needed a new "board" which was probably damaged in transit (they also said most repairs are needed in the first week because of shipping damage). The story since then has been a nightmare. I stayed home from work to meet the repair guy, who never showed up or called to say he wasn't coming. Panasonic was unable to control what was happening because they subcontract repairs out. After many phone calls the repair was rescheduled again. You guessed it - same story. No show, no call and no ability to reach the repair guy. So our TV now looks great in the living room but it still doesn't work. The moral of the story is that IF this product is damaged, your ability to get it repaired depends entirely on how reliable the contracted service repair store is. Panasonic's "concierge" hotline for repairs is inept and they do not have any system in place to ensure proper communication and control over service on their products.

I originally ordered the Hitachi 42" HD1080 Plasma through Sears at an amazing price, when I went into the store to check it out (after ordering) I didn't really like the picture, granted the store splits the signal a million times and use only coax hookups so getting a true picture was not in the cards, but compared to the others the Hitachi blacks were not as deep and rich as the others on the wall. Luckily for me the Hitachi did not show up on the promised date so I called another Sears and explained I wanted to go with their Store and change to a TV that was in stock. They offered me the Panasonic for $820 out the door. I could not resist, great price on a greatly reviewed tv.
Once home, I wanted to set it next to my 7yo 53" widscreen RP Hitachi for comparison, all the way home I was thinking how great my RP has been and this new TV better impress me or I'm taking it back. All I can say is WOW. This TV is awesome. So much brighter and cleaner PQ then the old RP. The PQ on the Panasonic more than makes up for the lost 10" of screen size. I have HD through DirecTV and the picture (on HD channels) is amazing. I think I have to sell my RP now and hang the panny on the wall, I originally wanted to put this in the bedroom. So next we loaded up an HD-DVD (Bourne Ultimatum) and compared the 2 screens, again the Panny blew the Hitachi away. We then popped in a standard DVD, Still amazing. The image on this TV is SHARP and CRISP and CLEAR, you can read about all the specs, etc on the other reveiws but just know that you will be impressed. I would really like to set this next to a 1080i screen to see if there really is a difference in pictures (in my specific setup) but given the screen size it probably doesn't matter too much.
So I have 2 questions:
1)Do I have to go with the Panasonic wall mount or can I use a universal wall mount? The manual isn't very specific on this part. I guess because the specifics come with the mounting kits.
2) IR/Burn-IN - on some review I read you are supposed to use the ZOOM feature (so you don't get sidebars or vertical bars - when watching 2:35-1 movies) for the first 100 hours, is this true?
Anyway, overall this TV is fantastic, given the price I don't think there is a better TV out there.. Also, if you are still on the fence over Plasma VS LCD, do some reasearch - Plasma technology has come a long way and the 2 big issues - life span and IR are, if not almost, on par with LCD. Both are around 60,000 hours halflife.

Superb picture; great detail, clarity, and vividness. OK sound. Almost HD look on standard DVD play. Black frame goes well in a number of decors. Only minor fault is that it generates a lot of heat. Lots of well labeled inputs. Easy to use remote. Great Panasonic concierge service warranty.

When I first thought of buying an HDTV I thought LCD was the only way to go. I had heard of burn-in issues and that plasmas didn't last as long as LCD. After doing some research and comparing them side by side, I decided to go with the plasma.
Burn in: I've had this TV about a month, and have had absolutely NO burn in and/or image retention. The contrast on this TV is set to the max right out of the box, and I image the people complaining of burn in or image retention haven't turned down the contrast.
Lifespan: With new technology, plasmas have a half-life of 60,000 hours, which is more than that of a typical CRT television.
Picture Quality: The picture quality of plasmas is where they stand out over LCD. I recently bought an up-converting DVD player, and movies are absolutely amazing. Even though it's only 720p, I don't think it would be easy to notice a difference between it and 1080p sitting ~10 feet away.
Sound Quality: The sound on this TV is awesome compared to other plasmas I looked at. Very full, deep sounds.
I would highly recommend this TV. For the price, you'd have trouble getting much better. With its sleek look and awesome picture quality, I'd definitely buy it again.

I've had this product for a few weeks now and I have had a number of occasions to use it since I travel by air frequently. My need was to recharge my iPhone primarily, but also several other USB powered devices from time to time. APC should be commended for a lightweight, elegant battery solution that looks great and works just as well.
Here's how the APC UPB10 stacked up:
PROS:
- Very nice look and feel, looks very executive
- Solid overall construction and nice metal buttons
- Fashionable, 2.5 inch graduated charging LED
- Charges from a USB source itself, including a laptop, so no extra charger to be carried
- Has both mini USB and full size USB connector
- Surprisingly lightweight given the charge capacity (10W I believe)
- Can fast charge an iPhone as good as a wall connection
CONS:
- Charges only when main metal "on" button is pushed, not just by jacking in the plug, a very minor complaint
- Only charges 20 minutes at a time, then needs another goose of the button, though this makes sure you don't waste power but requires occasional attention
- Very slow recharging, can take hours, though this probably will make the battery live a lot longer
Bottom line, I would buy this product again in a heartbeat.

I bought this primarily to use during travel to extend the operating time of my iPhone. In my unofficial tests, this power pack completely recharged the iPhone (which was below 20% power) twice before needing to be plugged in itself. It's lightweight, simple to use, and it looks nice...what more could you ask? Buy one if you need to charge USB devices!

This is a fantastic device. The device comes with an USB output adapter it is directly plugged inti the adapter using the provided USB cable. This cable has a full size USB port on one end and a mini USB port at the other end. While charging full plug fits in the adapter and mini port is connected to the device input port. It has 4 built in LED's indicating the charging status. It is even possible to connect an USB device with an extra port for the pass-through mode. It can supply adapter power for both charging and the extra device. Once the charging is finished it will supply power to the device. All you do is to plug the full size connector to the outlet port over the device and small USB connector to your powering device. If you have a nonstandard cable you can directly plug it to the full size USB port. LED's will stop displaying remaining power after 10 seconds to conserve power. However it is possible to activate LED's again using the button located over the device. If no load is connected at the power port for 15 minutes the device goes into sleep mode to conserve battery. The included brochure says it can supply enough power for an iPOD up to 55 hours. The device is very lightweight and thin so very easy to jam in a pocket. It is absolutely worth for the money. The device is rated for 8W of continuous and 10W peak load.

Incredible value when all things considered.......2007-12-27
Panasonic has long been a leader in plasma technology and the new 77U series is no exception. The new TH-42PZ77U has a full 1920x1080 (1080p) panel that is now rated @10,000:1 contrast ratio and 100,000hrs to half brightness. What really sets the 77U series apart is the new "anti-glare" screen coating which differs from the "anti-reflection" coating on the other models. Some will say that the anti-glare degrades the picture quality versus the others...I say it doesn't matter if the set is unwatchable during the day in a brightly lit room. The 77U series is for people who can't (or don't want) to control ambient lighting and would normally choose an lcd because of this. Now you can have the superior black level and more natural colors of plasma in any room that you choose!
Pros:
1. Styling, gloss piano black around the bezel and thin speaker strips on the edges.
2.Outstanding picture quality for HD sources..especially Blu-ray/HD-DVD or even Xbox 360/PS3. Some will say that 1080p is overkill for 42" but text (especially with 360,PS3) seems to be a little sharper vs my 720p set.
3. Decent speakers...there are better integrated speakers (for example on the more expensive 700U) but there are also much worse. Most people will use a surround reciever anyway.
4. Panasonic plasma Concierge, which is a hotline setup just for plasma owners. You can get setup/adjustment tips as well as technical support. I have not used Concierge but past experience with Panasonic support for a dvd recorder was surprisingly positive.
5. The price...shop around and you'll see what I mean. Try to get a similar value with an lcd without going for an "off-brand"..it can't be done.
6. Plasma doesn't suffer from lcd "motion blur" during fast action sports. Watching football in HD is a wonder to behold
cons
1. Anti-glare coating takes away some of the picture "pop" or brightness. However that doesn't mean that the PQ is bad...and it is a good tradeoff to be able to watch a football game on a sunny afternoon.
2. As already mentioned, the speakers are just average (not bad though) but won't be an issue for most people
3. Not a set for tweakers...the adjustments for PQ are limited but should be enough for the average consumer. If you want to fine tune the picture you'll have to delve into the service menu which can be a risky affair if you don't know what you're doing.
All in all..another fine plasma from Panasonic. I rate Panasonic just below the more expensive Pioneers, yet just above Samsung which seems to suffer from more quality control issues and quirks. If you can easily control ambient lighting and/or reflections don't bother you...I recommend the 700U (or the more expensive Pioneer Kuro) over this 77U. However if your situation is like mine, you'll find that the 77U is perfect as a way to avoid going lcd and save some money in the process.

I have spent alot of time reseaching TV's the past 2 Months. At first I was really drawn to LCD because of the bright pictures when viewing in the store. When I really studied the pictures closely I could see the Panasonic really did show more true to life colors. Because plasma shows blacks alot darker than an LCD it tends to make a screen look darker. I have never written a review on any purchase I have made, but have read many to make decisions on purchases. I am so pleased with the quality, ease of setup and price of this TV that I had to write in about it. I would highly recommend this TV!

I bought this TV from Sears for 1050 + taxes. I was given 2 weeks waiting for the them to order and received. After 2 weeks got TV from Sears. Opened it and to my dismay there was a crack in the screen. The outside screen was intact but the glass inside was cracked. I imeediatly called the CS and returned and ordered another one. Again I was given a date after 3 weeks. Not a pleasant experience till now but the price is so good i don;t think anyone can beat that price.
Finally I am getting my TV tomorrow. Hopefully TV comesup in good shape So that I can add my comments later one.

Finally got my second TV 2 days back. I couldn't be happier. Color reproduction is excellent evan in standard definition. The black levels are great couldn't make out difference from what Pioneer produces I watched in bestbuy. The preset modes (Cinema, standard, Vivid, Custom) should be enough for most of the TV watching. Watched Mission Impossible III yesterday in standard definition 480i, looks amazing in cinema mode. Black levels are so great. Just don't go by what others say about LCD's if you want to see dark action movies, you need plasma.
Also the antiglare screen is really doing very good job. You have a feel of matt finish as LCD have. Also watched DeepBlue on Discovery in HD on 1080i. The clarity and the color reproduction is excellent. Just don't use Vivid mode as it is too bright to watch anything.
I love to watch HD - the picture is so great I don't really care what I am watching. I don't use the TV for sound as I have Pioneer home theatre so can't comment on the sound.
Also I found that animation movies are very nice to watch evan on standard definition looks like HD. Overall I would recommend this TV to anyone who worries more about picture quality than anything else.

I've now owned this TV for a couple of weeks and must say that it's WELL worth the money. Here's why:
The purchase process:
1) I purchased a great deal through 6ave, $1200 shipped & no taxes.
2) The TV arrived via freight forwarder & local logistics delivery company that brought the TV into my home and I had to inspect the screen before I signed off and they could leave.
The TV itself:
- Works wonderfully with my Time Warner Motorola HD DVR cable box using HDMI. Now only if I more HD channels to watch...
- Works even better with Movies. I have a Toshiba A3 HD-DVD Player connected via HDMI and the picture is just unbelievable! Blacks are beautiful and the colors are vivid.
My concerns before the purchase and now after breaking it in:
1) Anti-glare screen: at first I read mixed reviews. I love it. It truly does an AMAZING job of taking the reflections off the screen in a living room with various types of light. I think the best comparison is a LCD monitor. It has that same "flatness" to it that allows you to enjoy what's on the screen rather than the screen itself. I do not miss the glass effect!
2) Burn-in effect: Haven't noticed it yet so I can't even comment! Not an issue...
3) Brightness vs LCDTVs: this TV is perfectly bright. I don't even have it in Vivid mode and I think it's much better than the OVERLY bright LCDTVs I have seen in people's homes. Again, this is something I worried about when purchasing and now I couldn't be happier with this TV's brightness level.
All in all, a fantastic purchase, I highly recommend it to anyone.

I purchased this product when my baby was born and it worked OK... for 7.5 months. After that, it started falling appart. I can't see anything anymore and the interference is so bad that I can't hear anything either. I will say that it did work for a few months, then it went CAPUT. Now I am looking for something else.

The product works well IF you don't place the monitor ith the screen close to a phone, computer or any appliance for it has LOTS of interference. I wish the screen was bigger, but it has worked for me.
Down side besides the stated above, only 900 MHz, so it won't work too far from where the baby is at and walls and doors will cause the image to be disrupted.

This is my first review ever. I just had to write because I was so disappointed with this product. The first day we got it, we were very pleased with the sensitive audio and nice day and night video. The second day it broke. I thought it was just a fluke, so we exchanged it - our second unit lasted less than a day before the audio stopped working. I can't believe we had 2 broken units in 2 days! For this price, you'd expect better quality than that.
Horrible night vision.......2007-10-22
The night vision is worthless. It's overexposed, so you can't see anything. There is a big white circle in the middle of the screen, right where the baby is. We took back the first one we bought because mobi customer service said we must have received a bad monitor. However, the second one has the same issue, so we returned that one too.

After considerable shopping around for a couple of months, I finally settled in on this TV. What a great choice it was! Setup was simple (as the TV walks you through your preferred color choices and palettes right after it comes on for the first time), user options are easy to use, and the picture is terrific!
I also purchased an HD DVD player and the picture depth and sharpness is outstanding! I have to say the Ambilight is nice, but don't recommend the Dynamic setting, but there are plenty of other options to choose that makes the image easier on the eyes.

This is a great product. The ambilight feature is great. I was simply blown out by the picture quality of this unit. Made a lot of research at CNet and other sites and everywhere I found good reviews about this product. Currently I do not have an upconverting DVD player, using a SONY progressive scan single-DVD player, but still the performance is amazing.
