Palm TX.......2008-01-01
This being my third Palm it's operation is better than all the others. Still working on the web access.
best gift i bought myself.......2008-01-01
This is a great product. I am a lawyer and a piano teacher and it helps me keep track of my appointments and my students. The wi-fi feature is great - find a spot with free wireless access and you do not need to subscribe to any other service to get internet access. The screen is clear and photos display well. Maneuvering around the functions is easy. I also enjoy the docs-to-go feature, which allows you to create and/or edit word and excel docs, among other things.
Love it so far.......2008-01-01
So far, I love my TX. I've had palms for a long time so I wasn't expecting a lap top in a tiny package. The screen is excellent, easy to read, bright. Battery life sucks but its easy to recharge and so far I've just plugged it in most nights and I've never come close to running out. E-mail via the web seems to work well. I didn't think that web surfing would work well and I was right but I have been able to look up a few things on Google just to try it out. Given that I got this for under $200 on sale, I'm very pleased. My only other complaint is that graffiti has been changed and no one told me. I'm still having trouble remembering the new strokes after all these years, but I'm getting better. Old palm users beware. Overall though I'd give it 4.5 out of 5.
Works as advertised.......2007-12-31
I ordered this PDA to replace a Tungsten E I've owned for years and needed to upgrade as I go back to school. Paired with a wireless keyboard and with built in WIFI/Bluetooth it enables me to work without lugging around a laptop. I learned by using the "left handed" setting I can lay my T/X sideways in the keyboard cradle for the wide screen and this makes typing easier. The company partnered with Amazon was magnificent-- not only a low price, but it actually shipped the day I ordered it! Not sure what happened but my first mishap was with Documents to Go-- kept resetting the computer. Dataviz told me to download a program they use and it appears to have fixed the issue. Then twice, the battery discharged. Somehow I'd left it on and the auto shutoff somehow did not work. It would not accept a charge, but in a flash of insight, decided to press the reset key and magically it came back on, even though it would not respond to the on/off button; on/off worked after the reset. From that point on I made sure I manually turned it off and since, no episodes. Each device needs to be learned and this one took just a little time. I am extremely pleased with this product and imagine it will be with me for several years until the next major upgrade (WIFI is huge). For now I love it, it logs in without fail into my secure wireless connection at home and open connections elsewhere.
Pretty Good.......2007-12-30
This product is pretty good and the wi-fi works great. It does everything that I thought it would. I just wished that it came with a guide to show you how to do more things!

REMEMBERING THINGS I NEED TO DO AT TIMES ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO THEM............WELL NO MORE........THIS AMAZING TOOL HAS HELPED ME GET BACK IN CONTROL OF MY LIFE...........IF YOU HAVE EVER HAD THE THOUGHT "UM I KNOW I HAVE FORGOTTEN TO DO SOMETHING!!!' THEN YOU HAVE GOT TO GET ONE OF THESE. IT IS SO USER FRIENDLY (I PROMISE I AM GADGET CHALLENGED) AND I LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY!!! THE ONLY NEGATIVE THOUGHT I HAVE IS "WHY DIDN'T I BUY ONES OF THESE YEARS AGO!!! ITS FAB!!!
Nice PDA.......2007-12-22
I bought the PDA instead of the Treo because I didn't want to pay for a data plan as well as a voice plan. I chose the Palm TX with the hard case because it could go online, keep my calendar, lists, memos, and Office documents/sheets.
Overall, it works well. I haven't used the Office stuff much, but the Word works well. The colors are bright on the screen and the different apps are fairly easy to get too. It is a bit of a bummer that you have to go back to the main page/table of contents in order to get to another application.
The hard case works well although it is slippery. Plus, it's hard to get open at first. Remember to push the side with the arrow back a little bit.
I like my purchase and it does make my life easier. I wish it would stay on longer though.
I'm learning.......2007-12-18
I'm not the most technical person, but it's easy to use. I have tons of data at my finger tips, which makes my work easier.
Palm TX.......2007-12-12
Now used for more than 3 months. A bit pricey, but a great product.
Infact the battery life is more than the manual says.
Works As Expected.......2007-12-11
I have owned several palm models. This one has wi-fi and bluetooth. It also has more native memory. The web browser seems to work better than in previous models. The speed is definitely better than the Lifedrive. I do not plan to use it for mp3 files but it is nice that it comes with a standard microphone jack.

Customer Reviews:
Good case, bad belt clip.......2007-12-28
The Saunders 00497 RhinoSkin case fits the Palm TX well, looks great, and is a reasonable cost. The best part is the cut-out sections that allow you to access the synch and headphone ports, stylus, and SD card without opening the case (unlike the Palm aluminum case). The single major draw back is the poor belt clip. A screw goes into the back of the case, and the belt clip (plastic) slides on/off of the screw as you push the release button on top of the clip. But it's very hard to get the PDA on and off the clip; the clip is designed only to fit on very slim belts (fits my dress belt, but not my casual belt); and the clip opens too easily, making me afraid it will fall off with the slightest bump on the hip. It's much easier to take the clip off the belt than to get the case off the clip. I'm likely to glue the clip shut and slide my belt through, then shave off some of the parts that hold the screw so I can get it off when I need it.
Fantastic product.......2007-12-26
This product was better than the original Palm version. THere is padding in the case which makes it not rattle like the Palm one. Much better for my Palm T|X.
RhinoSkin.......2007-12-25
I purchased this product a few days ago through Amazon. It arrived in about 2-3 business days and cost about $23 including shipping. This is an excellent product. The shell offers great protection, feels very solid, and is well designed. I made a mistake at first by simply trying to press the whole unit into the case. Another reviewer mentioned the same thing and ended up scratching or breaking off a piece of the PDA. What you have to do is slide the Palm TX onto the rubber strip in the case. There are no directions on what to do, and it was my first PDA. The unit fits in perfectly, and the clasp shuts completely, while still providing full access to the SD card, charger, etc.
Great protective case except door clasp could be sturdier.......2007-12-22
It's a solid metal case with a foam lining. Some earlier palm "hard" cases was a thin sheet of metal over plastic. Not here, solid metal. It also comes with a removable clip post and matching belt clip, has a grill in the back for the speaker, a hole for the reset, notched in the right places for the connector, pen, headphone jack, power, and IR. Only two negatives that come to mind, door can flip open since it's just a friction seal and you can't put it into a charging base in the case. I think Palm is more to blame on that aspect, but the TX is easily inserted and removed from the case. Haven't 'tested' it yet to see if it helps in a fall/drop.
Very much disappointed.......2007-12-08
It was too tight for my TX! After closing, I can only pry open the cover with a screw driver and it ended up leaving 3 small dents on the side of my PDA, plus scratching the stylus.
Also, the opening lid is built on the bottom half of the cover which is kind of strange. I have a hard case for my T3 and the lid is on the top half. That makes opening much easier as your opening hand would have something to grapple on.
Maybe it was a defective unit but I was definitely very disappointed.

Palm lifedrive cradle.......2007-12-31
I was happy with the purchase. It was as shown and delived in a timely manner.
Was about to return it but got it working.......2007-12-18
I purchased this cradle to use my Palm TX as a music player, like the iPod cradles.
The first 4 times I tried the cradle, with only the power cord since I don't intend to use it to sync, my Palm TX locked up. At this point I decided to return the cradle and went to the Palm website to get the name of the cradle patch file that I no longer need. I deleted the cradle update, but decided to try the cradle once without the patch.
The Palm hasn't locked up since, so I hope that the problem was the cradle patch. I will test it thoroughly over the next few days to make sure it is working properly.
HOW TO DISABLE THE LIGHT!
My Palm TX syncs perfectly when using the original sync cable connected to the cradle. One bonus of using the original sync cable is that the cradle charges my TX, but the cradle light doesn't come on. The light only comes on if I connect a power cable to the cradle.
Palm Cradle for Palm TX.......2007-12-18
An well built piece of electronic equipment. Makes the TX so easy to synchronize with your PC. It should be included with the TX. Very satisfied with its performance
avoid if you have a Palm TX.......2007-12-15
Own a Palm TX? Avoid this at all costs!
As others have noted, and as documented on the Palm support forums, this cradle has a major incompatibility with the Palm TX. It will cause the Palm TX to lockup, requiring a soft reset (using the reset hole on the back). There is unfortunately no solution, and no predicting when the lock will occur. Sometimes, after one HotSync it will lock, sometimes if the computer is placed into sleep and then reawakened, other times just sitting there.
Palm has a patch on their site that supposedly fixes this problem, but it actually makes matters worse - with the patch installed, the TX will lock when not even docked. DON'T install the patch!
Interestingly, the problem appears to be a hardware design flaw of the cradle itself. If you plug the TX into the included connector, and NOT the cradle, no problems! I suspect it has something to do with the silly LED light that always stays on - perhaps a static discharge problem.
Works well, but..........2007-12-15
I agree with the other reviewers, the base for this unit is very lightweight plastic, feels cheap. It works just fine, however, and considering I couldn't find a charger/synch cord anywhere in the area, I'm grateful to have it!

With 99% visual transparency, ClearTouch Crystal is the absolute clearest screen protection available. ClearTouch Crystal's numerous features enhance your Palm TX's display and provides you with more than protection from scratches!
Customer Reviews:
Long Lasting, Clear Screen Protection.......2008-01-01
I bought this after reading its reviews and am glad I did. Previously, I'd owned the cheaper varieties that come 2 to 3 to a pack. After a few months of use, the cheaper ones were all scratched up in the writing area -- which made letter recognition difficult for my Palm.
The Clear Touch has been on my Palm for ages -- maybe 2 years -- and is still going strong. I did gouge the Clear Touch early on, but that's the only visible blemish. This thing is not indestructible, merely "very tough", which is good enough for me.
Pricey, but Worth It.......2007-11-04
Although it's expensive, it fits perfectly on the Palm TX screen and it's as if the screen protector isn't there. Money well spent.
Don't waste your money.......2007-09-20
I bought this screen protector when I got my new Palm TX in July. I was a bit hesitant because of the price but decided to go for it based on reviews. Now I'm wishing I hadn't. I can't figure out if handwriting recognition is bad due to the screen protector or the PDA itself. This led to needing to use more pressure to get the handheld to recognize input. The screen protector has now developed a blemish (that you can feel with a stylus tip) over the part of the screen I write on the most. I can only surmise that the plastic has simply worn away after only a couple months' use. Not good, considering what they charge you. I'm ordering three screen protectors from a different manufacturer for the price of this one.
Not really impressed.......2007-09-13
I really didn't think this was any better than the cheaper ones and I personally thought it was hard to put on. I don't have good finger dexterity though and that may have caused some of the problem but the palm ones were easier to use.
Love the screen protector.......2007-08-09
I have had the same one for almost a year now. granted I do not use my palm on a daily basis, but this is a very sturdy product. Seems to be much thicker, and cut much more exactly cut than any I have had in the past.

BoxWave's Armor Case is a form-fitting, aluminum metal case that is designed to protect your Palm TX from everyday wear and tear. It comes in your choice of two colors: black or metallic silver. This lets you customize the color of your Palm TX!
Customer Reviews:
BROKE MY PALM TX!!!!!!!.......2007-11-15
Their DEFECTIVE product caused my palm tx to BREAK! I used the armor case and the belt clip that came with it the very day I got the package. My palm fell on the ground! Turns out the screw at the back of the armor case which was attatched to the belt clip was loose. Now my palm is broken. I emailed boxwave and this is the reply I got: "Our liability policy prevents us from providing additional compensation for it. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you."- All they offered was to replace the DEFECTIVE armor case with another one. As if I would ever trust their product again!!!
Worth It.......2007-11-11
The case design is awesome, but steer clear of the metallic version. It scratches easily. Now I've got the black version and LOVE it. I like how the case protects my entire Palm TX. Not one corner of my TX extends beyond the case so if I ever drop it, it may be jostled, but not totally destroyed. The cut outs give you ample room to work with when turning it off or on and using cords, memory cards, or the stylus. There's even a little cut-out in the back for the speaker. The case latch is solid and doesn't pop open. Inside, there's a soft felt lining and slots for 2 memory cards. I don't use the belt clip, so this case is just fine for me and the price is right too.
survived china.......2007-10-09
i have a palm tx just for studying chinese using plecodict software.. my pda wouldn't have survived my travels over summer w/o this case. excellent construction and durability, still looks brand new after 5 months of wear and tear. love it.
What a joke.......2007-09-09
I wish I could give this 0 stars. I got this for my Palm TX, but as another reviewer experienced, the damn case wouldn't close!! The screw on the back doesn't seem very stable either. I just sent BoxWave an email complaining about this and demanding all of my money back, including shipping charges. What a crappy product. I think I'm going to try the Rhinoskin one instead.
Not good for the Palm TX.......2007-09-05
I just got the newest version of the Palm TX--and I'm not sure if they've changed the dimensions or anything--but this case does not close when I put my Palm TX in it. That's right, it doesn't work with the new TX. There is a small piece of plastic that is supposed to keep the palm in the case, but this is preventing the case from closing because the palm is too large.
FYI. I will probably keep the product and just break off the little piece of plastic. But just so you know, don't buy this hardcase if you're getting a NEW Palm TX (with wi-fi and such).

Palm HotSync Cable........2007-11-12
The cable works just fine and cost about 98% less than one from the Palm Store. It clearly is not as well made as Palm's but it is fully functional and priced right.
Look and Work just like OEM.......2007-11-12
This works and looks just like the OEM, and at this time I am still not sure whether it is non-OEM because I cannot find any difference.
Just what it is - a spare cable.......2007-10-20
You get exactly what you might expect: a spare cable. I like to keep this with my travel ket so that I can use the cable when I'm not at home where I use a Palm cradle.
Excellent Transaction.......2007-10-04
This was an excellent transaction! The cable was delivered to me swiftly here in my deployment location in Afghanistan. I would do business with this vendor again. V/r, Mark - -author of The Blood of Scotland
Palm HotSync Connector.......2007-09-17
I was very, very pleased with this purchase. The connector was what I thought is was, the price was outstanding, and the shipping was quick. Very positive experience.

Customer Reviews:
Good product.......2007-11-30
I read all the reviews of the different Palm TX cases and I ended up going with this one. I am glad I did. It is a good product. I have no complaints.
almost perfect.......2007-10-27
While a leather case does not provide the protection of a good hard case, this stylish, well made, and custom fit case still offers reasonable protection and excellent convenience for your Palm TX. This case features rigid panels to provide protection to the corners and the screen, areas particularly vulnerable to damage from a fall. The magnetic clasp provides effortless but secure closure of the face cover. The only thing this case lacks is a good belt clip...does anyone make a case with a good belt clip? Such a pity, as its more bulk than you'll want in your pocket unless you're wearing baggy, oversized clothes.
Great case.......2007-09-16
I am using the vertical flip case with a Palm TX. It fits perfectly. I have been using Palm devices since the late 90's and have used various cases. This is the style that I have found most successful. The advantage of a flip style is the way that it flips around from the top and reconnects with its magnetic catch again. This creates a loop thorough which you can pass your hand resulting in a much more secure grip on the TX.
The top flap has a extension that loops over the bottom of the TX to connect with the catch when closed. This protects both the face and hotsynch port. The leather is soft. The flap that covers the face of the TX has a rigid liner to protect the screen. There are various slots on the inside of the cover to hold spare memory cards and business or credit cards. I do not use these as I have read in posts to newsgroups over the years about screen damage from those cards being next to the screen.
This product ships from Boxwave Corp and I received it earlier than I expected.
Very pleased with this case..........2007-07-20
Received item on time. Case is very well made and neatly packaged. Belt clip seems unsafe due to the fact that it is detachable and held on by one screw. If you are planning to wear your Palm on a belt all the time, I do not recommend a detachable belt clip on any case. It is best then to buy a non-detachable belt clip case. Overall I am very satisfied with the excellent quality of the product.

this is a nice product. i lost my original adapter and was worried that i have to spend too much again buying the same. but this one, solved two problems at one shot, providing a wall charger and a car charger as well. previously i used to worry abt charge while travelling. now thats also not a problem.
