After reading all the negative reviews about this product I decided to suck it up and give it a try. I've been using this headset for about 1-2 months now and I have no complaints so far. The microphone works great, the headset fits comfortably on head, and it has a sturdy frame. I mostly use it to play online games, but it's also good for listening to music, watching movies, etc. The only things that bothers me though is that sometimes when adjusting the volume it almost feels like I'm losing sound in one part of the headset, but it's not a big problem or it could be just me. Overall 5/5.

So perhaps I got the bad seed in the bunch, but I really did not enjoy this product. The volume from the microphone is very very very low, even when it is set to high. Also, when it arrived, one of the ears of the headphones did not work. I would have shipped it back for exchange, but the cost of shipping was close to the price of the object, so why bother? Luckily, it wasn't that expensive. That being said, I guess you get what you pay for!

I am online searching for a new gaming headset now as these broke, right on the side where they adjust into the plastic, so now they are trash. You get what you pay for. I usually love Logitech products, but this is not one I love. The mic was never great, people constantly having trouble hearing me even after lots of tweaking. I have a high-end sound card on my PC and this set just didn't do anything great with it.
Going to spend a bit more after I read review and get something nicer since I use it so much.
Look elsewhere.

I saw these and ordered to use with a portable DVD player I use in marketing a product I sell. They are light weight and comfortable and are far superior to the internal speakers on the unit. Now my clients can watch and listen to the DVD while in a crowded coffe shop or other venue and not disturb anyone around them by turning the volume up in order to hear.

I think the biggest selling point for this product is the comfort it offers to consumers. The headphones weigh no more than a standard women's headband. The speaker foam material does not feel scratchy. The speakers themselves sit comfortably on top of the ear rather than in or around it.
The sound is focused into the ear canal rather than dispersed randomly into the environment, increasing the quality of the sound you hear and decreasing the amount of sound those around you hear. It also seems to cancel out white noise and soft static, further increasing the quality of sound experiences.
The speaker foam is sturdy and secured to the speaker it surrounds. Having been used constantly and dropped and packed in luggage lots of times, the speakers continue to perform excellently and the plastic bits are still mostly intact. The headband can adjust to fit most head size, but the morbidly obese with large heads should probably look for headphone bands made of sturdier material.
I think these headphones are one of best thing on the market today for those people who have no interest in keeping up with the Joneses. Although the price for this level of quality can't be beat, watch out for the high shipping costs they slap on the price if you are purchasing a pair online. City pedestrians and city inhabitants that use bikes or subways to get town around might want to purchase this product at an electronics store near them.

I recently bought these headphones as for a low cost replacement set for the office. Although they were very low priced at $5, I find them to be dissapointing all the way around. They feel brittle when adjusting, grab your hair, feel itchy and uncomfortable and the cord is very thin. The worst aspect is that the volume control only allows you to adjust it a small amount. So if you're on a PC you still have to use the computer to adjust or mute the sound.

Overall, I would rate this product highly. It works, with excellent sound quality at a super price. The carrying bag is a good perk too, but...my problem with it may be a mac problem. The microphone will randomly stop working and seems to happen with any updating of Mac software. The fix is simple, but annoying:
Plug in your Plantronics headset, launch "Audio MIDI Setup" in your Utilities folder, make sure you select "Plantronics" in the Audio Input pull down menu, and disable the 'mute' checkbox.

for its price i can't really complain. it works good. the microphone receives well and the headset works. its also plug and play which is another thing going for it. But as a gamer (i wear this for long durations) these headsets are not comfortable to wear. you'll find your ears hurting if you keep these on for about an hour. so spend that little extra for a more comfortable headset if u plan on wearing it for long durations
p.s. this will probably outlast the more expensive stuff. i must have dropped this, stepped on, and rolled over a few dozen times and it still works.

I read all the reviews before I bought them and I can't imagine that nobody mentioned that. The cord is not long enougn if you are 6 feet tall plus. I am 6 feet tall and I can't keep my MP3 player in my shorts when I run. The cord is not long enough. What do say except ....Duh
The sound is passable ( I guess, you can't really get a good sound with ear buds) but the buds are quite bulky so they don't stay in your ears. I usually don't have problem with that - the cheapest earphones stay in my ears when I run with no problem
Consider the fact, that I got a good deal - $13. I still wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

Excellent headphones for ipod, much better sound quality than the cheapies packaged with new units. Can lay your head on a pillow with greater comfort, cord just the right length. Magnetic "lanyard" very handy. Feels sturdy. Green color not my first choice, but matching case solved that fashion dilemma. Highly recommend.

I have abnormally small ears and ear piercings in my cartiledge which make ear buds one of the only options for headphone comfort. These earbuds are great-- all the others fall out of my ears and these, with the larger covers to make them fit even snugger, sit wonderfully and don't fall out when I run, go to the gym, etc.
I'm a petite 20something so maybe that explains the discrepency in reviews. But I have been nothing but thrilled with these headphones. FINALLY earbuds that don't fall out of little ears!

you're ears need to be huge to use these things. I read it in a reveiw before but should has listened. I feel i have pretty average ears and they keep falling out. They re more like a drum shape with no ridge or defination to keep them snug in your ear....bummer. On to next pair.

Decent sound quality, great design, terrible materials.......2007-12-01
I had these headphones for a year and a half now. They are not the original pair, (you'll see why below) but the same model.
The sound quality is decent, and I am very impressed with the design details: the plastic connector that unhooks if the lanyard snags on something (it doesn't seem that important until it actually happens), the magnetic surface that stops the earbuds from dangling every time you take a step, the earbuds cable that comes out of the lanyard at the right place to minimize the cable clutter, the volume knob.
I would give this five stars except for this: there seems to be something wrong with the rubber/plastic covering the wires, especially at the connection point where the earbud wires come out of the lanyard. After a couple of months of use , the rubber starts cracking, exposing the electrical wires inside. After another couple of months the wires break and the earbuds stop working. Admittedly, I am using my earphones on average a couple of hours a day, and I am wearing them almost every waking hour (something to do with listening to podcasts every time I have a few minutes available). However, since they are called "sports headphones" I would have expected a sturdier product.
They do have excellent, two-year warranty. Every time my earphones break, I go to the support site, get an RMA number, send it in, and within two or three weeks I get a new pair, no questions asked. However, I am on my third pair now and the shipping of the defective headphones is not free, so I actually paid again the price of a new pair in shipping costs. Once the warranty runs out I would not buy them again.
high qual, little flaws.......2007-09-27
I am working out with Nordic Walking or commuting by bike. My needs, having ear-buds that could not easily fall off and Volume control handy seem to be covered by this Sennheiser product. Testing it for 4 weeks confirmed the supreme standard of Sennheiser products also the lanyard and analog volume control - I use a 1GB Maxfield Flash MP3 player - but sorry to tell, I wear the player in a arm-wrap-around velcro-closed carry case, the provided extension cable is too long and the jack cable going into the volume control is too short.
After using it now for 5 month I frequently faced the fact that the earbuds tent to fall out because they are to big - there is not additional silicon ring for adjusting to several earhole sizes...
Sennheiser could easily fix this by adding by 2 inches and adjusting rings.... quote: 80%.
Not-so-good.......2007-09-10
The picture will show a guy running with a usb mp3 player hanging off of it loosely. In reality, this is not the case.
First off, in order to keep the plugs in my ears I had to twist the ear buds around each other so that it sits under my chin like a cowboy hat. Then, if I'm sweating at all I have to keep my Sansa mp3 player inside my shirt so it doesn't shake the buds out of my ear. In fact, the cheap earbuds that come with the Sansa stay in my ears MUCH better, just keeping the device inside my shirt to reduce swaying on the provided lanyard.
I bought this about 9months ago and have been running off and on ever since I'd say maybe 100miles in that time. One earbud has already stopped working, the plug has come loose at the lanyard end and no longer functions. The entire thing is very faded from sweat, it had good sound quality (not that I was buying it for that) but does not deserve the word sport on it.

I bought these first as a gift for my boyfriend. They didn't fit his ear-holes so I thought they were "OK" and kept them. They are just that "OK". They do fall out of my ears when I talk or move my mouth. **DO NOT DO ANYTHING CONDUCTING ELECTRICITY WITH THEM IN!** I frequently have them in while walking on the carpet and your ears get zapped because of the metal mesh on the earphones where they sound comes out. The magnetic surface on the lanyard is a unique idea that could use a little improvement, but the clip on the back of the magnetic surface is great to attach to a sleeve or collar. The option to use the longer cord is nice as well. I tend not to use the extension when working out with an MP3 player on my arm (the extra length isn't needed and not having cords bunched on your arm is quite nice). The ones I bought for my boyfriend in the end were the Twist-To-Fit and I found they were better for me.

More specifically . . .
The remote is huge and made from creepy cheep plastic.
The cord is thick, junkie, and too short.
The noise cancelling is imperceptible. It seems to just make the sound louder. However there is a microphone built in.
The sound is truly terrible.
Beyond that the airplane adaptor seems nice.
I was fortunate in that one side had almost no sound output.
This way, I can take them back!

This set of earphones is worst than the original set that came with my MP3 player. The music is flat, there is absolutely no dynamic to what you hear. The noise canceling is a joke. When you turn it on, you actually hear a low level hum! I will not recommend it, you are better off spending a little extra money to get a better set of earphones.
Does not cancel noise.......2007-01-03
I do not recommend this product. It does not do a good job of canceling noise. The only noise-canceling comes from the ear buds themselves and you have to re-adjust them every so often because they have a habit of sliding out (whether you're sweating or not.) The only noise-canceling the powered remote provides is to add white noise over your music. This is pretty annoying if you're listening to anything acoustic. It's also very noticable between tracks.
I haven't found a single place where I want to use this device (primarily at the gym and on airplanes) because
1) the noise canceling does not work well (the music on the loudspeaker at my gym is loud and airliners are louder)
2) the "remote" is bulky
3) the wire running from the "remote" to the music player is short.
As you might imagine, the second and third points make the headphones incredibly difficult to use with my video iPod when I'm running (inside or outside) or lifting weights. In order to use this without the "remote" hitting me while running and dragging the earbuds out of my ears due to the force of gravity, I would need to buy a sleeve for my iPod that has a belt clip on it and clip both the remote and my iPod to my waistband.
In short, I am very disappointed with this product and have not found it to neet my needs.
